Welcome to Kirby: Soul Journey!

Hello!! My name is Bugthing, I use he/xey/it/they pronouns, and I am the mod of this account. This is a sideblog made very specifically for all things regarding my Kirby AU, Soul Journey! I store whatever Kirby-related content I make here, including a project I’ve been working on since the 20th of December, 2022.

If you’ve been following me for long enough, whether here or on my main blog (@goblinbugthing), you know very well what that is, but for the new people, allow me to introduce you to the biggest project I have ever worked on in my entire life…

The Kirby: Soul Journey AU fic!

As I said before, this has been in progress since 2022, and it is currently unfinished. I had put the fic itself on hiatus for months before I said anything, though the announcement of the hiatus itself was only posted in November 2023.

At the time, I had been working on chapter 2, and eventually gave up on it entirely because it wasn’t living up to my (unreasonably high) expectations.

However, soon after I announced the hiatus, I decided I would be rewriting the entire fic from scratch.

And that brings us to where we are today! The rewrite is in progress, research is being done, changes are being made, and I’m slightly more confident in my writing than before. So, make sure to check in with the blog every now and then to see any updates!

The album design didn’t leave all too much to work with, but if the theme was black and white, I was going to make it work somehow! And so this design with a simple pattern was born.

Life Goes On

Price: $6.50

The colors used are to match the outfits worn in the MV. The color scheme and pattern makes me think of warm sweaters and has a bit of a vintage feel, which match the sound of the song and style of the MV really well.

Fly To My Room

Price: $6.50

The bright and light colors are to match the light, effortless feel to the song. Yellow for happiness and orange for energy help portray the happy feel of the song. As well as the blue, which is a great contrast to the other two colors, adding to an idea of “flying” by representing the sky.

Blue & Grey

Price: $6.50

A calm, simple quilted pattern that matches the soft, mature feel to the song. Of course the colors blue and grey are prominent in the design, the colors being very accurate to describe the feeling of the song.

Telepathy

Price: $6.50

Blessed with an ‘80s-feeling pop track, what better way to represent that than by using bright and energetic colors commonly found in those crazy patterns you’d find all over carpets and clothes in that era? You know the ones. With the triangles and lines and spots that are just a mess. Yeah. Those.

Dis-ease

Price: $6.50

The song is energetic and sounds happy, and in a way is. But has a bit of a conflicting theme with likening happy things to an illness. So this pattern uses some “happy” warm colors that are desaturated, along with deeper colors that both contrast them but somehow fit perfectly together.

Stay

Price: $6.50

Stay is a brighter, uplifting song and rather than using “energetic” colors as I have for other upbeat songs, this pattern is more calming. Something about listening to the song just feels comforting and so the blues, purples and soft pink are to represent that feeling.
