#my art #some bg elements... who am i #once again posting bc i am filled w thoughts and feelings #i feel so nostalgic...#its a warm night and im lying in the dark #the light of my computer glowing blue in the corner #listening to music from my childhood #i was staring at the ceiling.. and i really felt the presense of night and remembered how endless it used to feel #made me wonder #when was the last time i could go to bed without worrying abt the things i should do the next day #i dunno. these days night has felt so burdensome and limiting. so much pressure and so little rest #i remember looking out the window at night and seeing the sky tinted pink with light pollution #honestly i always thought it was beautiful. the whole night was dawn.. and there was so much time to enjoy it #and i would explore all my little thoughts and ideas and worries and fears and wishes #and somehow id fall asleep #idk what i even think about these days #i just stress about the small stupid things and how i need to sleep and how desperate i am to distract myself from that anxiety #so ofc i cant sleep lol #ahh i miss hearing the sound of the train in the middle of the night #i need to work on letting my thoughts flow freely again.. instead of all these controlled thoughts about what i should do and how and when #i can just feel my little brain shrinking from the lack of breath #i miss thinking and reflecting and dreaming and imagining and all that shit #what am i doinggg man #how did i let my head get this clogged up #fuckkkk ok well anyways im glad im having this time in my feels lmfaoo #ahhh i miss going to the beach at night and lying in the sand and seeing the darkness stretched out endlessly and the city lights in the #distance and just talking about anything thru the night without a single worry about sleeping early to go to work or whatever #ahhhhhhhhhhhhh #i miss wasting time pointlessly and enjoying it without being so painfully aware of the time going by #ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

what piercings does Danny have in your CFAU?

Danny’s got double lobe piercings on both ears, and then helixes, and an orbital on one side! Then he’s got an eyebrow piercing on the right side of his face. I don’t have any particular reason for why he’s got piercings as an adult, I just thought it’d be a fun way to indicate a physical change from when he was 14 and last saw the Waynes, to the next time they see him. Although with this version of Danny (rather than my original, unserious beta version of CFAU), it probably would follow that he'd potentially get piercings when he was older. (So not a total shock)

#dpxdc #dp x dc #cfau #childhood friends au #cfau danny #piercings #danny did his lobe piercings at home but the upper parts were done by a professional in the ghost zone #his ghostly healing means he couldnt go to a human piercer it’d heal in an instant #i’ve considered giving him snakebites. or a tongue piercing #guys with piercings >>>#playing dress up with your characters is the best part of making an au!#its also lowkey a relic to what my original childhood friends au was like in my head when it was still more of a 'daydream au'#which was more cracky and unserious. it leaned more into danny being more like his pre-canon self ie: meekish and shy when he was in gotham #so him having piercings/being more confident/cursing/etc the next time they saw him would come off as more of a drastic change considering #the last time they saw him (when jason was alive) he was a skittish and quiet kid. bookish. him turning out all goth-rock and punkish and #willing to throw hands with anyone he sees. would have been a big “huh??” moment for jason and co #hey wouldn't it be fun if jason had a childhood friend who moved away when he was a kid and returned to kill #the joker after he died? and that friend looked almost unrecognizable from his memories?#'daydream aus' are what i call aus that aren't all that serious and stem from listening to music and daydreaming. they're largely silly #unserious. and more “hah wouldnt this scene/idea be fun” and would've been harder to write down as a longform au. cfau stemmed from me #listening to music and going and then it spiraled from there.

some people will look at my current wip and say that malcolm running his hands through jamie's hair as he sleeps and singing him old scottish songs is out of character but to that i say a) no it's not just hear me out and b) suck my fat cock you can't stop me from making those old men experience Real Human Emotions

#the question is what should he sing. it's tempting to say something cliched like wild mountain thyme #but i'm thinking something by the corries. they were my entire childhood and i like to imagine malcolm listens to them #listen usually i hate people making pairings like this too soft or nice #but this is immediately after they beat the fucking shit out of each other and have a screaming match. it just fits ok #it's clear that malcolm's work personality is entirely separate from the rest of him (initially at least)#i think he has a real soft / caretaker streak in him that he reserves exclusively for his niece/nephew + his mother + jamie #and on another tangent. i think malcolm listens to a lot of scottish music. very in touch with his roots and culture #jamie on the other hand has a more complicated relationship with it #he has that internal struggle of seeing Home as a place of pain and hardship and bad memories and trauma #home is somewhere you leave / escape. so traditional scottish stuff reminds him of that and it's weird #he also has the conflict of having been treated differently for his accent etc in the past so he tries to separate himself from it sometime #scotland to him is old school working class industry men with chronic emotional constipation #a lot harder to romanticise than the fucking rolling hills and the glens #(i'm projecting with fucking all of this. if i'm finally getting lanarkshire boy rep on tv i'm projecting onto it ok)#ttoi #the thick of it

haven’t had such a nice day in so long

#visited my childhood friend of 20 years in the city she had moved to #she picked me up from the train #then treated me to a delicious lunch and cake #we watched the start of the new gntm season #then she made my nails and omg I’m in LOVE #I’ve never seen her be this focused on something before agdhgj she did such a good job #we also had wine while doing that and listened to fun music #after we went to a cute immersive light show exhibition thingy #and then she borrowed me some of her clothes bc she had convinced me to go out #and my god was she cute and supportive and sweet about it #and I really really needed all that #she’s that friend that always gets hit on when we’re out if you remember That story of me being miserable #WELL the queue in front of the club was too damn long so we just went home again so that was great for me ahdjgj #all in all such a lovely day I adore her lots she made me feel so loved today

#it took so long. but I have most of my childhood incorporated back into my life again.#karma cd is finally here and ladybaby one is on the way. I started playing hello kitty games again and sleeping with childhood teddy bear.#I listen to the old music. I have so many novels I wrote to catch up on. My art drafts from my adolescent years are making my drawer overfl #it hurt a lot and took more than I thought I had in me #but it needed to happen. and I feel healthier in a way though I'm still amazed that I remember so much when used to remembering nothing #will probably need hypnosis therapy to remember it all someday (the duo and actual therapy atp /j)

I know i might have a weird taste for music but i didn't think it was that bad until i gave a lift to my brother and he kept begging be for a normal song after being forced to listen to nyan cat for not even 30 seconds...

And than two trucks started playing...

I just kept skipping through my playlist the whole ride and this is my fun playlist too :((

i hate listening to a band that was popular in the early 2010s because then every algorithmically recommended band is just any other band that was popular during that period of time because half the audience is just people who are on nostalgia trips or people who still have a 2014 music taste

I’m just. So interested in the relationship between grief and trauma and arousal and anger.

#and I think that’s why I enjoy writing Mrs Danvers so much #like yeah babe me too #I was talking with my office mate about like #childhood and processing emotions #and our taste in music being different from what people expect #mine is like: classic musical theatre and rock operas #and my favorite most continuously listened to albums are the ones about murders #but not just the murders themselves #the events and situations leading up to them #the anger and the pain that could drive someone to that point #the catharsis of the act and feeling free #the aftermath of making that choice to act and how it effects everybody around you #and like yeah haha it’s so funny that the cottagecore bitch has a dark side #but I said to my office mate #when I was growing up I was never allowed to be angry. that meant I was being selfish.#and it’s one of those things where I conceptually understand that it’s not normal #and I don’t talk about it often #but seeing somebody else react to that always leaves me a little shaken #so like yeah I am obsessed with musicals about violent murders and loss and pain #because it allows me to explore those feelings that I haven’t been able to process in my own life #in a safer way #projecting my trauma allows me to acknowledge it without reopening old wounds #and Mrs danvers is just #a really very important character for me because she’s such a good canvas #thoughts
