How are Gallstones Diagnosed?
Gallstones are diagnosed through various methods, including medical history assessment, physical examination, and diagnostic tests. A healthcare professional may inquire about symptoms, risk factors, and family history to evaluate the possibility of gallstones. Physical examination techniques, such as abdominal palpation, can help identify signs of tenderness or enlargement of the gallbladder. Diagnostic tests commonly used for gallstone diagnosis include ultrasound imaging, which provides a visual image of the gallbladder and any present stones, and blood tests to assess liver function and detect any associated complications. These diagnostic measures aid in accurately diagnosing gallstones and determining the appropriate course of treatment.

Liver Function Test (LFT) – Monitor Your Liver Health with MICROPATH LABORATORY
Introduction to Liver Function Test (LFT)
The Liver Function Test (LFT) is a vital diagnostic tool that helps assess the overall health and performance of your liver. At MICROPATH LABORATORY, we understand how crucial liver health is to your well-being. Our advanced and accurate Liver Function Test (LFT) gives you insights into your liver’s condition and helps in the early detection of potential liver disorders.
With lifestyle changes, alcohol consumption, medications, and infections on the rise, monitoring liver health has become more important than ever. That’s why MICROPATH LABORATORY offers reliable, fast, and affordable Liver Function Tests (LFT) using the latest diagnostic equipment.
What is a Liver Function Test (LFT)?
The Liver Function Test (LFT) is a group of blood tests that measure various enzymes, proteins, and substances produced or processed by the liver. These parameters help detect inflammation, infection, damage, or disease in the liver.
The key components measured in an LFT include:
Alanine Aminotransferase (ALT)
Aspartate Aminotransferase (AST)
Alkaline Phosphatase (ALP)
Bilirubin (Total, Direct, Indirect)
Albumin
Total Protein
Gamma-glutamyl transferase (GGT)
Prothrombin Time (if required)
Each of these indicators helps evaluate how well your liver is functioning and whether there is any damage or inflammation present.
Why Should You Get a Liver Function Test (LFT)?
The Liver Function Test (LFT) is essential for both preventive and diagnostic health care. At MICROPATH LABORATORY, we recommend LFTs for individuals who:
Have symptoms of liver problems (e.g., jaundice, fatigue, dark urine)
Consume alcohol regularly
Are on long-term medications
Have a history of liver diseases
Are managing conditions like hepatitis, diabetes, or obesity
Need routine health check-ups
Symptoms That Indicate You Need an LFT
If you're experiencing any of the following symptoms, consider booking a Liver Function Test (LFT) at MICROPATH LABORATORY:
Yellowing of the skin and eyes (jaundice)
Abdominal pain or swelling
Chronic fatigue or weakness
Loss of appetite
Nausea or vomiting
Itchy skin
Dark-colored urine or pale stools
These could be early warning signs of liver dysfunction, and early detection through an LFT can prevent serious complications.

Despite a lot of things seeming to indicate that I have anaemia I apparently do not have anaemia. Like what are we doing here exactly.
#There's a lot to look through but it definitely just leaves me with more questions than answers.#I do think I had something wrong with my liver and honestly the blood test did not actually test an awful lot from that side of things.#Genuinely half-assed liver function test (also an outdated term).#I'll bring it up next time I see them.#At least I'm no longer having issues with it so I don't feel as much urgency as I would a week ago.#It's still sore and I still have pain from the opposite side.

dawg whats even the point of having a primary care doc if theyre gonna run tests and then not look at them for over a week and ignore when u call and ask abt them & tell them that ur getting sicker and then end up having to pay an urgent care MORE MONEY just to look at the test results. stupid fucking fragmented healthcare system that doesnt work even if u play along w the game
#im still bitter abt this. glad i could get an urgent care doc to look at my results and tell me i have mono#and tell me that my other abnormal results (liver spleen function etc) arent imminently dangerous#but im still just waiting for my pcp to get back to me and tell me what i need to do to recover. if i need other tests. anything like that#ughhhhhhhh#usamericans is this normal??? do i just need a different doc or is this just the turnaround time for GPs
