Lizardstripe: Basically she didn’t want to be pregnant in the first place and feared feeling trapped in the nursery while having kits. Canon gave her so much shit for having kids even though her cat gods (StarClan) told her to have them because they were going to be special. Note that her role in the clan makes her pretty much a nun so she is not allowed to have kids usually. Her kids gave her shit for getting pregnant, her clan went easy on her for getting pregnant but still made her stop being a medicine cat because of it (she is one of the few that wanted to be one), even StarClan gave her shit for getting pregnant when she died and almost got sent to cat hell because of having kids she was told to have! She should have aborted the three!

Yellowfang: She could not have raised those kits anyway, and she knew that. It would have spared her the agony of seeing her daughters die and giving her son away, unable to raise him, and watching him grow into a murderous dictator and eventually killing him.

I don't blame Lizardstripe for anything involving Brokenstar to be honest, if you literally force someone to adopt your kid then it's not on them at that point if they abuse your kid it's on you. Also iirc the worst she got towards Brokenkit in Yellowfang's Secret was her maybe saying to a different warrior that she didn't like him while not intending for him to hear it. Also the way the narrative treats her as evil for not wanting kits and Hollyflower acts like kits should be her highest calling as a she-cat and Yellowfang specifically worries about leaving Brokenkit with her because she's ambitious is not great and I like her out of spite. Why is it okay for Raggedpelt to be ambitious but not her, Yellowfang?

Foxheart x Lizardstripe AU, Lizardstripe starts to believe Shadowclan's rumors that Foxheart is the mother of Brokenkit and gave him up to be deputy and goes to confront her and she says that's not true and they get to talking and eventually realize how dirty they've been done by their mates Raggedstar and Mudclaw and break up with them and start dating each other and Foxheart becomes the primary parent of Lizardstripe's bio kits because Lizardstripe never wanted kits while Foxheart did and Mudclaw is useless. Lizardstripe becomes more of the fun wine aunt. Foxheart tries to parent Brokenkit too but Raggedstar isolates him from his moms once he's old enough to not need milk and poisons him against them and radicalizes him into the killing machine he later becomes.

An AU where Yellowfang confides in Lizardstripe about her pregnancy, who is in a similar situation of not wanting children. Despite never having a very good relationship before, the two end up forming a closer relationship and are able to raise their kits with the support of each other.
