i miss video stores. they were the greatest place on god’s green earth to me as a child and i think we did the youth of today a grave injustice, getting rid of them the way we did

bc i saw some posts about mics car and bc im normal about cars i will throw in some deeper analysis into his particular vehicle. read more bc i rambled

people who own vintage and/or foreign cars almost instantly have a community of people with similar interests who welcome them with open arms- all you have to do is drive up and you instantly have some new friends

the particular car that mic owns is not just a car- it's *the* icon of vintage american muscle cars. not an icon, *the* icon (chevy fans would argue but they are fighting a losing battle). driving a first generation fastback GT mustang is flashy and brings a lot of joy to people passing by- lots of smiles, waves, thumbs up, and general excitement

and finally, there is no owning an old car without having to work on it. it doesn't matter if you buy it freshly repaired or if you drive it home from a car show, there will eventually be an issue to fix. in terms of our timeline (i dont want to be getting into the whole timeline debate of bnha over this), mic's car is nearing 60 years old, and with old cars, especially old foreign cars, comes time spent

so how does this relate to mic?

I personally headcanon that in his early/mid 20s, he was pretty lonely. his best friend died, he and his friends probably got busy with hero work (plus radio for him), and never mind having to deal with the still fairly fresh grief. mic is also a known workaholic- he likes to have things to keep him busy, and what better way to keep busy then a new hobby?

then, the car itself. a first generation, GT mustang fastback. it certainly doesn't fit into japan's car culture- fast and nimble cars are generally more up their alley- but car people are car people. by owning a mustang, mic would be part of a more exclusive car "club" so to say, full of enthusiasts whose preferred car doesn't fit the local norm. it would help him meet people and make friends, even if they're only friends due to their interest in vehicles, it's something he might desperately need. plus, it's an eye catching car that brings a lot of joy to people- it's for these reasons that I think mic would seek out the particular car that he owns

anyways, a lot of my thoughts about mic and his mustang are centered around headcanons, but i think even without the use of headcanons, the car is still very fitting for mic. it's an iconic vehicle that can bring a lot of people joy and has a large amount of power behind it. restoring and maintaining a classic car is a time-consuming thing, and as a workaholic I'm sure that mic is up for the task.

The smirk miraculously returned. “You will believe many things you never imagined if you are able to remain here long enough. And if anything is to be gained from this conversation, let it be the lesson to watch your tone among the sacred animals, as I seem to have never learned.”

This time I cocked my head. “Right...and what are the sacred animals?”

He looked startled by that. “The birds created in His image, of course. You met one upon your arrival. That ghastly beast with an attitude that bullied me into guiding you upstairs.”

A beat of confusion, then understanding. “Oh! You mean that beautiful—”

“Slander!” croaked a voice from above. The old man swore and spun around, and we both noticed a large raven perched above us beside a venting window. “Another week!”

“Oh, you bastardly little snitch,” the old man growled under his breath, wincing when the bird began to jump about, grating voice breaking into a strange, unearthly cackle.

“Two!” it cheered, then leapt from its perch, honking with apparent delight as it spiraled overhead against the high ceiling.

Suddenly I was relieved that I’d been polite to the golden bird.

“Is that...a common punishment?” I asked. “To be given a duty you dislike?”

The old man turned to me with a scowl. “What? Oh. I suppose it’s common enough. You’re just as likely to be fed to the little beasties for your crime, however, so I don’t advise testing your luck. He’s capricious, our Burning One.”

“Three!” the raven cried gleefully.

“There was nothing slanderous about that and you know it, bird!”

for the people having trouble getting salvador to work in openutau: aaaa i'm so sorry my lad is giving you trouble ; ; this seems to be a running theme with my libraries kjshljdhlfgjk

there's a couple suggestions in the notes of the original ask which might help, but for the time being i unfortunately do not have the willpower to do much in the way of troubleshooting

i swear once i get around to updating the website and releasing his quality of life update i'll put some actual work into testing him across different platforms ksjfghkdhfgj

My mom called the charity that was able to give me my hospital bed, wheelchair, and shower chair for free because when her neuropathy is really bad she wants to potty chat so she doesn't have to walk the 50 feet to the bathroom so she’s getting that.

But she also asked them on the off chance had someone donated recliner because the chair she relaxes to sit in was already not the most comfortable but now she's falling asleep sitting up and it's really painful. They didn't have one, she understood, and said thank you very much. She was excited about the free potty chair but they called her today and said they called a local furniture store and they're going to donate a new recliner for free to my mom and deliver it Thursday or Friday!!!

del is my first vtm character and when we started our chronicle i didnt have a great grasp on how convictions and touchstones work mechanically,, and it's been making me nuts for a bit. i didnt love the phrasing of her convictions and they werent tied to specific touchstones, so i reworked them with the ST and now she has:

mortals are not expendable - touchstone azumi tsuga, adoptive mom

Yesterday, AAA called to tell me they can't come out till Thursday or Friday. My mom and stepdad offered to come jump my car and then take it to go change the battery. Desperate, I agree as I schedule a pickup service to come get Chili to take her to daycare in case nothing works and I still don't have a car for Wednesday. Daycare Lady puts a note to pick up Chili before I have to go to work before 8:10am. I finally feel a sense of relief for the first time in days.

At 3:20pm, AAA sends me an update. Someone is coming at 4:56pm that night. I go to my boss, leave work an hour early to pay for an Uber to be home in time. Tell my mom she doesn't need to come up now, excited this nightmare is about to be over.

Two hours go by and no service guy. I call AAA. 'Sorry. Looks like the provider we assigned your ticket backed out.' Didn't tell me that. Didn't update the ticket. I wasted 25 bucks, lost an hour of pay for literally nothing, my car is still dead, and my mom won't cancel one night of church bullshit to come up tonight instead.

At least Chili is taken care of for Wednesday though. Right?

Cue this morning. 8:10am. My coworker is here to pick me up and the dog bus is nowhere to be seen. So I had to cancel daycare and now Chili is stuck at home again and I don't know if I can get a ride to go let her out on my lunch.

Nothing is going right this fucking week. I'm about ready to fucking lose it.
