Professional females in Hong Kong get it rough sometimes. Working in Hong Kong can be a pain. If you were like me, going through unbearable times in the office lately, then you deserve a little Princess Treatment!

I found myself fortunate enough to try an upscale Manicure Session at The Right Spot Wellness  near Lan Kwai Fong on Stanley Street. An Urban Spa with the love for Art and Interior Design - boy, did the place make me feel alive again!

A Working Woman’s Urban Getaway

I recalled the luxurious hour where I felt absurdly pampered and cared for like a goddess and I decided I must share with you all who feel the same way! It’s easy to stay in Central or Quarry Bay or wherever you work, and believe your worth is the same as what you produce and make in the office. Reset your senses! Love yourself more!

Tucked in the busiest area of the city, among the financial giants, is The Right Spot Wellness, serving top-notch massages, nail, lash and waxing services - This place might just save you from passing out that angry resignation letter at the wrong time. 

Partnered with Locofama, you can also enjoy healthy lunch boxes and snacks before or after your treatment. And this is a great idea to optimize your lunch time. Give yourself that 30-minute pamper session during your lunch break! 

Manicure & Pamper

I have to admit, I’ve done my own nails my whole life. I owned twenty bottles of nail polish at the age of 7 and always loved to have perfect hands - maybe a fetish of some sort. But I’ve never had it professionally done - SAY WHAT? 

Despite my lack of experience, I’ve had my fair share of massage experiences. I’ve went to 10 different massage parlours alone in Hong Kong just this past year, and this one has been most exhilarating and with the best hospitality!

The Lobby/Waiting Area was adorably designed with an exceptionably bubbly receptionist that gave me a drink while I waited for my turn. Copies of Monocle Magazine were laid around for the guests to admire - it was a place of chicness.

The manicure table was near to the waiting area - wooden with industrial details. My manicurist began with allowing me to pick my colour of choice. Way too many choices! I already had all sorts of colours at home, but pastel colours had always been tough to apply on my own, so I settled on the lovely Pastel Grey.

My nails didn’t need much shaping, but it was amazing to see how cleanly shaped nails should look like. It was also such a comfortable sensation seeing my manicurist carefully buff my nails. I admired each step and savoured the service I was receiving. 

Feeling Worthy & Loved Again

What I loved the most was how delicately she held my fingers and arranged my hand. She wasn’t doing each step for just the result but for the process. There was no sense of urge or haste - what a difference to what my daily work-life is like! 

My Manicurist gave off a very zen and peaceful energy, which was also one of the favourable parts of my experience with The Right Spot. Quiet music in the background and a room of aroma, it was a peaceful and slow escape from the rest of panicking Central’ers.

When she gave me a quick Hand Massage with moisturiser, I already had my eyes closed. If I had to describe it in a word, I’d say it was absolutely “DELICIEUX”. 

Unfortunately it all ended after an hour, and I was left thirsting for more!

Massage & Escape

I had a quick tour of the rest of the salon. Like many of the newer places opened up in Hong Kong the last few months, the salon was dressed in an urban industrial style. 

Designed by ADO with Vivian and Curtis Man, calm colours of concrete walls and soft warm tones of wood made itself a perfect setting. Lighting was sparse highlighting the art pieces that hung on the wall. Aromatic diffusers set the mood of the day for the tired guests. Curtains gave privacy to guests receiving head/foot massages while body massages had their own room to hide in. I love the dedication to experience and escape the salon portrayed.
