I had a good time with this movie! I was laughing a lot harder than I should have, considering what a horrible rotten tomatoes score it has. But The Bubble is about a movie being shot directly during the pandemic. The entire cast is placed in a covid “bubble” at a large luxury hotel as they try their best to film ‘Cliff Beasts 6’ all while slowly losing their freedom (and sanity)

This role felt the closest to Pedro’s actual personality, and maybe that’s why I found him absolutely hysterical. Dieter is an actor who plays a hammy side character (Gio) with a who-knows-what accent for ‘Cliff Beasts’. Any time this accent was whipped out it had me dying. But Dieter himself is a chaotic, goofball who's a little too fond of drugs and Kit Kats. He can dance like a fool and bluntly ask hotel workers for sex, all while being the funniest aspect of the movie. All of his lines and every scene he was in made me laugh.

Dieter gets high on a regular basis and that’s more less his character; tripping out and having as good a time as he can. He’s then subjected to a hysterical scene where he almost overdoses and the entire cast frantically, with little success, attempt to save him (he’s saved by Annika the hotel worker who he’s asked for sexual favors from repeatedly and it’s a cute lil romance) My favorite was when he had a vomiting session in the bathroom after too much fun with some edibles. He then snags another hotel worker into helping him through it and it’s comedy gold. 😆

For how Pedro can pull off some hella serious roles it’s so fun to see him have a great sense of humor and even greater comedic timing. Have you seen him host on SNL? The man is surprisingly funny. But it looked like he was just having fun in this movie, which in turn made a mediocre movie pretty enjoyable. It’s real easy to see why Daddy Pascal is so likable and the Bubble demonstrates it perfectly: humor, hotness and versatility.
