About damn time we get back to the core of Trina's depression arc which is survivor's guilt. Cause it can't be as simple as Trina trying and failing to rush through her grief to please the people around her because she pretty deliberately blew up all her future plans.

There's a part of her that wants to play the part for the people around her but there's also a significant part of her that's treating any kind of acknowledgment of the future as some of "letting go" of or abandoning Spencer.

Hilarious almost dumpings aside, I love the idea of Spencer being "gone" technically but Trina still holding so steadfastly to this responsibility and promise to not abandon him. It's like that Fleabag quote about the dilemma of grief and not knowing where to put all the love you have for someone when they're gone.

That's Trina basically. She's stuck in the fog but there's also a part of her that finds comfort in being stuck in the fog because it's like her weird self-imposed penance for losing Spencer. Spencer's "lost" she has to be lost too.

(Sidenote: TA's voice does this shaky thing whenever Trina's unleashing contained emotion and it's so good. That paired with her eyes? Instant heartbreak every time.)
