Fig and Baxter.
Baxter knows Sandra Lynn's pregnant before she does, and he's so protective of her throughout her pregnancy, even more than usual. And he's obsessed with Figeuroth from the moment he meets her a couple of days after she's born.
During her maternity leave, there's nothing he loves more to do than being Fig's naptime pillow and purring her to sleep. He wants to keep her in his nest, but Sandra Lynn won't let him.
By the time she's one, Sandra Lynn straps Fig in a baby-bjorn with goggles and earmuffs on and takes her flying on Baxter for the first time. And while other kids learn to ride bikes, a six-year-old Fig gets her own griffon saddle, just her size, and can steer Baxter all by herself.
Becoming a flyer on the cheer squad is a no brainer for Fig, she's been soaring through the air her whole life. On her afternoons off, she practices handstands on his back while he prances around the yard and they both get a talking to when they tried to do her moves in the air. Under her breath, Fig says that they'll just have to be way sneakier next time.
Baxter doesn't understand what's the matter with Fig's new horns. He doesn't get why Sandra Lynn takes him on more flights than usual or why Fig refuses to fly on him at all anymore. Doesn't understand why Gilear leaves and soon so does Fig. He just doesn't understand and there's nothing he can do. Even though all he wants to do is drag all three Faeths into his nest and keep them there until they figure all their bipedal nonsense out.
It's a long eight months till he sees Fig again and she couldn't have arrived at a worse time. A legion of enemies draped in red descended on their home, setting it ablaze. As soon as Fig runs up, he screeches for her to keep away, Sandra Lynn's already unconscious inside, he can't lose her too. But she's too much like her mother, stubborn as all hell. So, as she dives into battle, bass guitar at the ready, he flies to her side to fight with her.
He's been in countless fights alongside Sandra Lynn, so know how trustworthy his judgement is when he notes that Fig fights just like her. Their magic may be different, a bass instead of a bow, unbridled inventiveness instead of peerless precision, but their fearless determination couldn't be more alike.
The days, weeks, months after that battle are better than have been for a while. His little Figeuroth comes back, not forever but enough to keep him and Sandra Lynn unworried.
There's even one evening, in the summer, when Fig comes over and after dinner instead of picking the night away on her bass, she finds him in his nest. Runs her hands down his mane of feathers, scritches behind his ears and under his chin just like she used to. And as the sun is beginning to dip under the horizon, she saddles him up with an unconscious ease and takes him for a short flight.
As they soared, she asks him in a quiet yet knowing voice how high he thought he could take her. And he's never taken a suggestion so swiftly. He flies higher and higher until they dip above the clouds. Just for a moment, to see the orange, pink, and purple sky of sunset before dipping back down.
Both let out rapturous screeches and yells as the wind whips by their faces. Baxter does loopity loops, twists, and dives. Fig throws her arms out, her long braid flapping in the wind, with the biggest smile on her face as she whoops and hollers.
A girl and a griffon. Nothing can beat that.

Curriculum at the Aguefort Adventuring Academy
Now that the Night Yorb adventure has concluded and the Bad Kids are headed back to school I have thoughts about the structure of the Aguefort Adventuring Academy.
The Solisian School District in Elmville, as far as we know, consists of Skullcleaver Elementary School, Oakshield Middle School, Mumple School, Hudol College, and the Aguefort Adventuring Academy. While Skullcleaver and Oakshield serve the population as a whole, Mumple focuses on NPC trades, while Hudol is a private school that focuses on theoretical magic for the ‘upper class’ of Elmville, and the Aguefort Adventuring Academy focuses on training adventurers from within their specific classes while also providing general education.
Obviously, the differing structures of each of these institutions brings up some questions. Since the Solisian School District presumably has a school board and a superintendent, are there any enforceable curriculum standards that the high schools have to abide by? What common classes do Mumple, Hudol, and Aguefort have? What does a high school diploma from each of these mean?
Given the endless questions brought up by the organization of this school district, I’m going to try and make logical sense of it by tackling them as they come to me.
First, I’m going to focus on the Aguefort Adventuring Academy, since that’s what we have information on. I can speculate on the nature of Mumple and Hudol, but we have actual info about the AAA.
What has to be in the base curriculum for each school?
For the AAA:
I’m basing this on a combination of what we know from the Bad Kids’ classes and their investigation during Family in Flames.
Here’s what we know of the AAA faculty:
Administrative Staff:
Principal: Arthur Aguefort
Vice Principal: Goldenhoard/Kalvaxus, Gilear Faeth
Lunch Lad(y): Doreen, Gilear Faeth
Guidance Counselor: Mr. GIbbons, Jawbone O’Shaughnessy
Librarian: Maugly Dimweather
Nurse: Fatima al-Aydaa
Receptionist: Chart Bomsk
Custodian: Kasavian the Wise
Bloodrush Coach: Coach Daybreak, Gorthalax the Insatiable
Gen Ed/Elective Teachers:
History: Kurby Rockstone
Linguistics: Efevrian Stuttle
Home Ec: Pilby Hatchet
Driver’s Ed: Alphonse Doublefist
Health: Spunge Dirtfoot
Theater: Ebria Dwimmerwaithe, Mr. Pepper
Music: Lucilla Lullaby
Arcana: Joria Casterwall
Class-Specific Teachers:
Artificer: Grunding Tomblast
Barbarian: Porter Cliffbreaker
Bard: none listed
Cleric/Religious Studies: Yolanda Badgood
Druid: Ellarian Fallowglade
Fighter: Corsica Jones
Monk: River Moondaughter
Paladin: Halo St. Croix
Ranger: Ellen Fleetfoot
Rogue: Eugenia Shadow
Sorcerer: Jace Stardiamond
Warlock: Evan Freem
Wizard: Tiberia Runestaff
So we know there is at least history and linguistics, as well as many elective options. Math and science likely run differently when Arthur ‘Chronomancer’ Aguefort is around, so I can understand them not being present on this list, though I would say that math is probably present in the elementary/middle schools, just because having a basic understanding of how arithmetic and geometry work forms a lot of what goes into basic life skills and also things like material components and ritual circles for casters. Adaine has made reference to math classes before, so the existence of them is kind of up in the air–we don’t have direct confirmation, but they’re likely present.
I took the liberty of moving arcana to the elective category because while it is a specific specialization, it doesn’t fit with the rest of the class model, and it fits more as a class that would be shared between the casters that have to learn things. Understanding the foundations of each type of magic, learning the bases of material, verbal, and somatic components bc even if you use an arcane focus, it’s important to understand where the idea is coming from.
Based on my own American high school experience, I would have expected a few more core classes. There really are a lot of electives. There don’t seem to be specific curriculum standards that would transfer well from school to school. Thus, I would expect that earning a diploma and/or a GED would have significantly different requirements.
Class-specific curricula:
Artificers
They likely have some sort of shop class/STEM course to learn how to build things and repair them–easy way to get tool proficiencies. Also a class on the different infusions and how to use them?
Subclasses: Once you get past 3rd level and choose a subclass I'd assume they would have optional electives for each subclass (alchemist, armorer, artillerist, battlesmith). Ultimately it just comes down to different skills, but artificers do a lot of the same things from subclass to subclass.
Barbarians
We have insight into these classes because Fig and Gorgug attended them; they are learning about  the sources of rage, and how to control the rage state while in combat.
Subclasses: electives likely split into controlling magical elements of rage for wild magic, zealot, totem, storm herald, and ancestral guardian barbarians, and martial elements of rage for battleragers, berserkers, beasts, giants, and juggernauts.
Bards
Bards are one of the classes that often have a strong theoretical basis, so I would assume they have a relatively heavy curriculum. We know there’s bardic history, because Aguefort talks about it in Sophomore Year, but bards would likely have some required music classes as well.
Subclasses: Lore bards would definitely have some history crossover and maybe arcana crossover with the wizards once they started taking electives for their subclasses, while swords and valor bards would share classes with the fighters, creation bards with the artificers, glamour bards with the charisma rogues, and eloquence, spirits, tragedy, and whispers would likely have similar electives.
Clerics
Healing/medicine is likely one of their core classes, but generally clerics are probably going to be learning rituals and the histories of deities, along with other wisdom based skills.
Subclasses: like the bards, there’s a ton of variance with clerics. A knowledge cleric is not going to have the same classes as a trickster cleric, or a grave cleric, etc.. Now that I think about it, it makes sense for forge clerics to be taking shop classes with the artificers.
Druids
Ecology, druidic magic, survival classes? They’re probably paired with the rangers often. I think I recall Aabria and Erika talking about Danielle helping Antiope with more traditional ranger skills, so it makes sense that they share some classes. Wildshape training and summoning practice probably factor in when they can perform the skills more than once a day.
Subclasses: the things that druids can do can vary significantly, but if i had to guess: moon & shepherd druids would get paired because they’re working with creatures, spores & blighted druids would work with more necrotic spells, dreams & stars druids would get paired because they’re associated with night in differing ways, land druids have their own classes, and wildfire druids would be arsonists. Just kidding.
Fighters
Fighters are explicitly trained warriors, so learning strategy, different fighting styles and martial skills depending on what fits their needs best. Learning to use action surge and attacking quickly would be a big one.
Subclasses: Each subclass would get slightly different training, but ultimately they’re all learning to fight, so it would be more like groups within a larger class. Fighter is also a solid multiclass, so I’d expect a bunch of multiclassed kids to join in with training.
Monks
Monks are also  explicitly trained warriors, though the focus is ki and finding enlightenment at a base level. We haven’t had a monk PC in the world of Spyre, but there is a monastic studies chair, so there presumably are monks at the AAA
Subclasses: some monks learn more ki-based techniques while others learn more arcana, so there’s probably some really split classes there.
Paladins
Paired with the clerics for deific history, though they have electives on the different forms of oaths as well as fighting classes/training. Ultimately paladins are a partial caster combination of a fighter and a cleric, so I would expect them to share classes with both of those
Subclasses: as stated, it would mostly be based on the differing oaths and the magics they get from each.
Rangers
They’d share ecology/survival classes with the druids, though the rangers are given more specific combat training and ways of tracking favored enemies and such. There’s probably a class that helps you decide your favored terrain.
Subclasses: all of the animal companion subclasses would get paired, while the hunter/assassin types would probably have some kind of stealth and tracking classes.
Rogues
Rogues would get skills training for expertise but also stealth training. Basically assassin training but also charisma classes for charisma rogues and elective magic for the arcane tricksters
Subclasses: not huge differences here except for the arcane tricksters because they’re partial casters. they're learning to sneak around and kill people by surprise.
Sorcerers
Sorcerers would get basic magic training, with a focus on controlling sorcery points/fonts of magic, and understanding where sorcerers come from. Sorcerers don’t technically have to do work to get their magic, rather, it’s a matter of precise control of what they have i.e. metamagic.
Subclasses: There’s a wide variety of sorcerous origins, so each would have pretty different classes associated. Divine soul sorcerers would probably get paired with the clerics, but everyone else would have their own options.
Warlocks
Warlocks are the weirdest type of full caster, so they probably don’t combine with other classes very much. I imagine that not many high schoolers are making these kinds of deals early on, so it probably involves learning about patrons, and maybe negotiation with your patron? There’s also probably classes on invocations and the different benefits of each. To be completely honest, I wouldn’t expect them to offer much in the way of warlock classes anyway. The only warlocks we’ve run into have been Johnny Spells and the greasers, Fig, Bill Seacaster’s cult, and Sam’s eldritch adept feat. Most of these are outside organizations, and if they aren’t it’s been based on in-game deals and negotiation.
Subclasses: very split. Different patrons have very different demands.
Wizards
They’re already nerds that learn magic from books. Arcana and history classes, split courses to work in different schools of magic. Aguefort is a wizard–you think he wouldn’t have a robust wizard’s education at his academy?
Subclasses: one for every school of magic and also chronomancy.
Next Question:
How does leveling work at the AAA?
Everyone presumably starts around level one in freshman year, probably with some variance based on family background and previous experience. The seven are level 10 when they get their GED, and all of them lost at least part of a school year. According to the RTX college visit oneshot, college students are ~level 15. I would say they probably don’t enter at level 15–somewhere around level 12-13 maybe?
This is not canon, but I think what’s maybe intended is annual progression requirements. You start at level 1 and get to 5ish freshman year, start at 5 and get to 8 sophomore year, start at 8 and get to 10 junior year, and start at 10 get to 12 in time for graduation. While they’re forming adventuring parties on the first day, most groups are not going to be going out and finding encounters immediately in Solace. They’re going to school. They’re learning how to work together as a party. They’re participating in extracurriculars. The lower levels are easier to get through–that’s why the progression slows down at the higher levels, because you get diminishing returns on leveling the higher level you are.
This seems to fit–the 7 are evenly leveled, but fit into the junior-senior model that would allow them to get their GEDs while being a little underleveled for graduation. The assumption is that they’re immediately going to go and be an adventuring party–they’ll make up any difference very quickly. By contrast, the bad kids had progressive leveling during freshman year that left them at level 8 during the Prompocalypse fight. I’m fairly sure that Penelope and Dayne were level 10 at least, and during sophomore year she can cast 6th level spells and has 3d10 fire bolt damage, so she’s at least 11th level if not higher. So being at level 12 in senior year tracks.
Thus the bad kids over-level during freshman year, even going by milestone leveling. if you go on an xp model you’d have to get around 10000 throughout the year to hit level 5–they’re running into so many encounters that they overshoot. And thus they’re still over-leveled in sophomore year, but if they had a relatively quiet year up to spring break, then not leveling up significantly makes sense.
Numerically, if a student is assessed on xp basis for what they have to earn in that year to level up appropriately, if they go back to zero at the start of each level.
Freshman year: 10,400
Sophomore year: 71,000
Junior Year: 112,000
Senior Year: 185,000
That tracks for high school–you can do very well in freshman year classes and then all of a sudden start struggling, and it’s more work every year. you’re capable of more, sure, but you also have way more responsibility.
How does the quest assignment system work?
What we know: they have adventures during the year as a party that serve as a sort of capstone project–60% of their grade. My hypothesis: Knowing how high school classes work in a non-fantasy public school, I’d posit that the adventures are considered a form of independent study; every student is required to do a certain amount every year, in order to move to the next grade as an adventuring party. If they don’t complete a quest of a high enough level, or enough lower-level quests, the party can be disbanded, and they may need to repeat grades in order to move to the next grade.
In order to support the infrastructure of a modern school system, and modern technology, Solace can’t be unstable enough to require adventurers. That’s the crux of what Charity Blythe was advocating for with Project Reset–using a catastrophe to drive the market of adventure. Since this was a distinct event that the Ministry of Adventure was planning for, one can conclude that these Class A, B, and C quests are not happening all that often. What are those you ask?
The Ministry of Adventure classifies quests in a six-tiered system, from class A to class F, in order of decreasing severity. Class A quests threaten the existence of the Universe and planes beyond the prime material; class B quests threaten the prime material/the world of Spyre; class C quests threaten nations; classes D-F are for localized threats, the ‘bread-and-butter’ quests, though an adventurer that can handle a class F quest may not be able to handle a class D quest. There is likely some further calculus when it comes to these classifications–the classes simply refer to the scope of the threat with regard to what it threatens, not specifically how difficult it is to complete the quest.
A GED from the Larger Solisian School District requires the sign-off of the Superintendent of Schools as well as the completion of a Class A, B, or C quest. By classification: the Bad Kids’ defeat of Kalvaxus was a class C quest, their defeat of the Nightmare King was class B, and the Seven’s quest to release Talura to infinity was a Class A quest. Sidenote: if a GED requires quest completion, how does anyone not from the AAA get a GED? Do they still have exams for non-adventurers? What subjects are required in the world of Spyre? Is it even needed?
So, Solace isn’t unstable enough to induce quests beyond class D on a regular basis; where, then, do these teen adventurers get high level quests? We first need to talk about how the rest of the world and their capacity for teen adventurers.
Tumblr media
Highcourt: Nation ruled by monarchy that reigns over most of the rest of Spyre, the have an ongoing treaty with spyre–they were the source of the original Sol worshippers that became the harvestmen. Thus, the mentions of perditional contradoxy in their treaty with Solace make sense. Not suitable for adventures beyond D class as it would likely violate treaties, unless the adventurers are specifically hired.
Fallinel: high elven nation ruled by the court of stars, or Seven Immortal Dancers on a Spindle, who Sing to the Various Phases of the Moon, with lower courts for bureaucracy. No lawyers. Not suitable for adventures beyond D class as it would likely violate treaties, unless the adventurers are specifically hired.
Sylvaire: aka the forest of the nightmare king. south of Highcourt, home of cassandra’s original worshippers, the town of arborly, and a bunch of captured gnomes who were sustaining magic for the druids of the storm king. The forest itself was walled off for ~850 years. Quests are feasible along the coast and around the borders of the forest, but quests to enter the forest would not succeed without infernal permission.
Red Waste: Kalvaxus’s initial territory but his lair was in the mountains of chaos? Desert-like, full of Kalvaxus worshippers and Yorbies. The Seven went there for their sophomore year quest. Developed enough to have a tattoo parlor where Antiope could get her leader tattoo. Suitable for higher level adventures.
The Baronies: collection of small city states/nations that are constantly at war, where the richest of the rich have access to technology while others are still operating in a medieval society. Suitable for higher level adventures.
Mountains of Chaos: where Kalvaxus’s lair is located, but also home to the Temple of the Earth Defiant. Sklonda Gukgak has family from there, though she is from Bastion City in Solace. Suitable for higher level adventures.
Swamps of Ruin: Not much that we know currently; Kristen was building swamp Venice there while on a humanitarian/missionary trip. Suitable for higher level adventures.
Nekronomicron: subterranean city of necromancy and the undead, the location of Talura’s final stand. Kalvaxus was allied with the necromancers–which extended his control beyond the Red Waste. Suitable for higher level adventures.
Leviathan: the pirate city made of ships cobbled together into a functional city. if you can find it. They have their own adventurers though. they’re more likely to kill you. Technically suitable for higher level adventures.
Throshk: North of the Mountains of Chaos and Solace, home to Kalebrimbor, not much known in canon. clear for adventure. Suitable for higher level adventures.
Frostheim: North of Throshk, snow-covered according to maps of Spyre.  Suitable for higher level adventures.
And that’s just the continent we’ve been shown; there’s probably more to Spyre that we have yet to explore. Sidenote: the map poster from the seven has been taken off the dropout store and i’m sad about it. I know this means they’re probably doing a poster for this season but still.
So what does this all mean? Well, all students of the aguefort adventuring academy must engage in a quest of an appropriate level with their adventuring party in order to jointly pass the year and move to the next grade. They are allowed to travel to achieve their objective, and can enlist paid assistance from non-students known as hirelings. They must go on at least one higher level quest, or multiple D-F quests, presumably starting in sophomore year, since parties are generally formed on the first day of freshman year, and the expectation is that the students are not of a high enough level to engage with threats of class C and above.
This contextualizes Antiope failing a year for non-palimpsest reasons–her party would have failed their yearly quest and been disbanded. It also gives context to the rest of the Seven losing their adventuring parties; if one of your members is not participating in the completion of the quest, they can be removed from the party and left as a solo adventurer.
That’s all I have for now on this because I don't have the energy to keep digging at the moment. We’ll see about more as this season progresses.

Wizard Breakdown Tracker: Mighty Nein Reunited, Part 2
Gather ye wizards while ye may, though with the return to Campaign 3, we are finally headed to Yios, where there are wizards, once we finish with the Gloomed Jungles, where there are were-creatures, which are also very cool. The hierarchy is, as always: paladins; wizards; were-creatures; literally everyone else; dhampyrs, kalashtar, changelings, and "hey DM, can I play a tiefling bard with intelligence 7". But I digress.
Ludinus Da'leth: So at this point (ie, shortly post-this episode), Caleb, known bridge between the Cerberus Assembly and the Cobalt Soul, has taken a job at the Soltryce Academy, which means any efforts to make a new, slightly more palatable volstrucker program and quietly keep it from Archmage Becke are going to go straight out the window. The walls are closing in, and he doesn't even know that Jester can go to the Feywild. 7/10.
Astrid Becke: Caleb listened and took the job! That's one success in what's got to be a thankless new position in many ways. Also I still really want to know who the hell has become Archmage of Antiquity, or if the Assembly just writes that one off as "make a deal to bring back a powerful Age of Arcanum entity and raise it to godhood once, shame on you; make a deal to bring back an powerful Age of Arcanum entity and raise it to godhood twice, shame on us and also what the fuck are we going to do with two nickels in a society that uses gold, silver, and copper currency." 3/10; Astrid's doing better than she ever has in this tracker, and good for her.
Eadwulf Grieve: Caleb is still keeping him in mind, which is good, because he really is like...look, he's a wizard, so he's not dumb muscle, but compared to his two former lovers he's very clearly the 'And Peggy' of the bunch. On the other hand this means he's probably just organizing the Temple of the Raven Queen Yulisen Night Potlucks and inventing the Exandrian equivalent of Minnesota Hot Dish or something. 0/10.
Yussa Errenis: Is aware of the storm on the horizon. Is chilling in his tower. Is largely unbothered. Other people pointed out that while he has developed a reputation for fucking around and finding out, he has also technically never physically left his tower to do so, which is honestly impressive, but does explain why Beau did not have to bamf out a partially dissolved old wizard when she ended up in Uk'otoa's gullet. Anyway, glad he's keeping up with Caleb and making potions. 3/10, for being aware of the storm.
Allura Vysoren, whose name I keep misspelling: Yasha did give Kima back the sword, and Caleb doesn't seem to have her staff, and she helped make a new, cooler sword! 2/10 for League of Miracles reasons only.
Essek Thelyss: Still under a lot of political pressure, regardless of where he is...but he's also getting, as Figueroth Faeth would say, his kisses in, so better than I expected! 5/10.
Caleb Widogast: So here's the thing. It is, as the other post said, about the green beans. And it is, as my last iteration of this said, not time for deep Caleb meta in here. But I do have a lot of thoughts about the similarities between Caleb and Fjord, as I always do, and about how neither of them really had much of an understand of what happens in their life past That One Big Thing They Need To Do, having already woken up at some point and been like *Mitski voice* I used to think I'd be done by 20. I do feel that the Caleb Widogast of part 1 of this two-shot was truly a Caleb Widogast who could go either way re: the T-Dock usage, and the Caleb Widogast of part 2 of this two-shot is not; the event has not (in my understanding, at least) occurred but the decision has unconsciously been made. Also he's dating Essek and he gets to have Dragon Time, which sounds like Floor Time but better. He does get a 4/10 though, because he takes it upon himself to become the Mighty Nein's Social Event Coordinator. As someone who just had to cancel a carefully scheduled D&D session for tonight because I am sick but also the DM and if I have to talk for 2 hours while simultaneously using my brain I will cry, this is very stressful.
Veth Brenatto: Camp's going great! Only one kid died, and not permanently! 1/10.
Known Gem Wizard Hotsauce Lutefisk: Oh so the demigod leviathan CALAMITY SNAKE gets released from its prison beneath the sea, three seals in three temples broken in under 18 months, and yet, I, Halas Lutagran,
Bonus!
Warlock Breakdown Tracker
Fjord: For real? Who knows. I personally imagine that it does, as they say, briefly go to 11, because though Uk'otoa is dealt with and Zehir seems to have understandably gone "you are way too interested in love and the ocean for me to give a shit, I'm going back to bed", Fjord (not unlike Caleb) has to sit with the fact that he's done with that and he's happy OH GOD HE'S HAPPY WHAT THE FUCK DOES HE DO WITH THIS. Also he has to deal with the orphanage, which is going to be traumatic and unpleasant for sure, plus you know someone named "Grankton" is going to be holding a massive grudge against the world at large. But with time, it settles back down somewhere more reasonable, only to briefly spike and resolve again during Kingsley's little maneuver. So you know. Some numbers, probably.

There's no new chapter for "I Want You to Show Me Weak" today since it's Christmas, so I thought I would do a fun Holiday post about what I think my Table 7 characters look like!
Just remember, these are NOT one for one. It's simply the closest I can get to what's in my brain (thankfully for you, none of you can read my thoughts). If you picture something else, that's amazing! And also valid. Keep enjoying the fic exactly as you are ❤️
One of the first things I did when I started thinking about writing Show Me Weak was decide I wanted a more fleshed out table full of real people, and not some nebulous existing background characters like I had for Wants, Needs, and Clerical Errors. Which worked great for that fic! Because a lot of it was more nebulous and focused on what was going on inside of the Reader character's head. The focus was supposed to be Kino (as a treat for all of us). I wanted Show Me Weak to feel more grounded in the prison environment.
So I made 6 male original characters! I found names on the Star Wars section of the Fantasy Name Generators site that stood out to me. Then I focused on each name and thought, "what kind of character would have that name?" And wrote physical descriptions for all of them, and thought up the most basic structure of their personalities. Threl is the warm, diplomatic face, Jevid is the grumpy old man, Taybus is the little shit younger brother, Sorrek is the troubled, middle aged dad, Alis is the fun, quick guy that is the most relatable to the Reader because he's right next to her and about the same age, and Edii I wanted to be as enigmatic as possible for a reason I will explain down below.
As I started writing table dialogue, especially in the bigger group settings, those little foundations I built came alive onto my screen. Sometimes without more than a second of thought. Which was a complete shock to me. I never intended for any of them to go to the depths that they are now. So I quickly became incredibly emotionally invested in these characters that started as half paragraph entries in my notes. Now I can't imagine the story without them.
The fact that people seem to genuinely like the table as much as the focus of the story, Kino/Reader (and let's be honest, the smut), has blown me away. I'm glad other people have grown as attached to them as I have.
Without further ado, my boyyys
Threl
He reminds me of Mike Colter, just less built and with a deeper voice. But he was always handsome, warm, and confident in my mind. Mike's humor during Luke Cage and The Defenders is a great example of that as well.
Tumblr media
Alis
Young Theo Rossi is the closest I can think of, just with a scar on his left side and a rounder face. The scar is a detail I wanted to include, even though it has literally never come up again. Because the Reader noticed it right away of course, realized quickly he's comfortable with his appearance, it doesn't bother her at all either, and that's that. So she doesn't think about it when she thinks about him or looks at him. It's just Alis's face and everything is from her perspective. It was intended to demonstrate how comfortable she is with him. Otherwise Alis has a lithe build and lots of dexterity. (I also pronounce it Uh-lease in my mind)
Tumblr media
Sorrek
Sad dad might be the most disappointed you'll be reading this list. I actually based Sorrek off of an NPC in an Actual Play D&D show by Dimension 20 called Fantasy High. One of the player characters' dad is this down on his luck, miserable elf named Gilear Faeth. In the campaign, he's cartoonishly pathetic, but I wanted a serious version of him. A soft spoken, gentle dad that is haunted by something, but still looks like he gives great hugs and can't help being nurturing.
Tumblr media
Jevid
Jevid is basically an old biker. That's it. That's the concept. He's the character we know the least about, and I don't know if that will change, but the idea is he just no longer gives a fuck. He cares about them in his own way, but he doesn't get roped into the table shenanigans or gossip as frequently as a result. He's been in there too long and is just a grumpy old man 😂
Tumblr media
Taybus
Adam Driver with a longer more bob-like cut that hangs in his face and a mustache that you would see in a highschool hallway. The "I can grow facial hair, but just a small mustache" starter for a lot of 15 year old boys (my husband was sadly one of them 😂 I can't look at some highschool pictures of him without screaming and running away). I didn't realize how much I was kind of picturing young Adam Driver in my head until Reader suggests he tie his hair back.
Tumblr media
And finally
Edii
Freddy Carter as Kaz Brekker in Shadow and Bone, but paler with dark eyes. (I haven't seen the show, but love the Six of Crows duology, excellent books.) Edii also has what is essentially a very heavy Slavic accent that I based on someone I went to college with. A guy that people called "weird" because he had a unique look and wasn't comfortable talking since he wasn't very fluent in English, so he kept to himself. But in one of my very small classes, he really opened up as the rest of us talked to him and tried to engage him, and he was so funny! Then we all quickly realized how horrible it was that people ignored him when he was just a guy, you know? So we all got lunch or coffee on occasion and chatted after class. He had a much easier time in college and away from home after that 🥺. That is my Edii. A sweet, misunderstood cinnamon bun. (I pronounce it Ee-dee when I read it)
Tumblr media
So there you go! Table 4 in (the closest I can find to) all of their glory lol.

I’m listening to boo york boo york again so here’s various extended lore for the fic I posted last night (a bit of spoilers for the fic itself)
ok so the original dads are like normal mortals who get pulled into the world of like supernatural stuff. Henry actually had witch back in his bloodline (instead of elf) and Glenn does become a demon, but there’s no weird timeline with nick stuff, Glenn just like broke a demon deal or something (idk I haven’t thought about it enough leave me alone)
so nick is a demon still, and Grant and terry stay human. Sparrow gets bit by an unknown werewolf (love wolf,,,,, you see my vision) and it’s this event that makes lark like turn on Henry bc he feels he didnt protect sparrow enough and so lark dedicates himself to hunting down the werewolf that bit his brother.
terry is bit by a vampire at some point, not turned, his blood just gets sucked.
grant and marco adopt an abandoned little zombie boy (Lincoln) but bc he’s a zombie and they’re kinda frowned upon in even the monster world they homeschool him for most of his life
terry marries Veronica and finds out that the Marlowe line is a long far back lineage of vampires and scary is constantly trying to make him think she’s gonna drink his blood (she won’t)
scary is also a really powerful witch along with being a vampire and she’s so strong that it draws the attention of willy stampler who’s also a really powerful witch (became so after Ron was born) and he becomes the first person she ever turned into a vampire. Also Scary’s full vampire and not a dhampir so she thinks her bio dad is cooler than terry bc he’s an actual vampire
my vision for link is a lot of physical comedy. Like when Grant and Marco saw him for the first time as a little zombie baby (he was bitten young) his eye fell out and he’d like constantly having to put his rotting limbs back into place
similarly to the actual podcast, Taylor doesn’t know he’s part demon until like high school where he goes through a fig faeth type puberty and the dads reconnect and decide to send their kids to school together. He never really knows nick for a while though, Cassandra’s the one who makes the decision to go to the other dads for help.
werewolf politics are similarly complicated to those of vampires and so bitten wolves are kinda frowned upon because they don’t have a well known pack name, and even though normal was born a werewolf, sparrow wasn’t so it’s kinda frowned upon. Hero goes to school with mortals, but normal isn’t good enough at controlling himself so he goes to school with monsters but still tries to be quiet about it. He’s also doesn’t really fit the werewolf stereotype and he thinks that if the other werewolves at school found out they’d mock him
Assume most undead age to a certain extent (idk why yet, I don’t have all answers, fuck off) but hermie is like full dead, he got burned to death when he was like nine years old, but ghosts don’t really have a set form anymore, so he can choose how he wants to appear and he typically chooses how he’d look nine plus however many years he’s been dead. He can look like most other things though, which is why he’s such a good actor, but he can never appear without the burn scars because that’s how he died. He hasn’t been dead long enough to be able to make himself fully corporeal but he can do certain parts of his body

anyone ever think about how the bad kids all started out with like, no friends
like gorgug canonically didnt have any friends pre-bad kids, riz's only friendship was his fuckin babysitter, kristen might have known people also in the cult but let me tell you, friends you have when you're as trapped as she was Do Not Count, adaine DEFINITELY didnt have friends, fabian's 'friendships'- if he had any- were all most likely not genuine at all- and fig lost all her friends when her horns came in
and then you think about how they all had some kind of trauma or psychological issue coming into their friendship, especially regarding their home lives
fabian's mom was an alcoholic. bill cares a lot about his son but sophomore year makes it very clear just how much his expectations, intentional or not, fucked up fabian, and how bill's expressions of love arent exactly... healthy. like, to me i'd probably place fabian's issue as being closest to parental neglect- yes, both hallariel and bill were present and loved him, but bill especially started out not loving him as an Actual Person ("i thought you were just going to be me. a way for me to live forever"). actually the entirety of family in flames really shows this- bill was not a good parent, and it Really Messed fabian up. hell, bill physically assaults fabian at one point and calls him soft. while fabian is in jail. bill is the root of his issues with toxic masculinity
we know adaine is an abuse and neglect victim, so that goes without saying
i am firmly in the camp that sandra lynn was a good parent to fig (yes, she fucks up during sophomore year, but i think that was Very Complicated and not something she ever intended for fig to have to deal with). but gilear was not a good parent to her. i will point to the very first episode on this. fig says "the look on his face when my horns started growing in didn't look a lot like love". in a later conversation in the same ep, gilear says "i know i said some hurtful things when i first found out". fig fires back with "yeah, you said 'you're no longer a faeth', and guess what, i'm not. i'm just fig now"
and god, how much that must have fucked her up. especially since canonically fig lost all her friends during this time period. How much that must have hurt. i firmly believe that fig's behavior during season 1 re: trying to find her dad is a product of the fact that gilear said that. "i'm not your daughter anymore? fine, ill find a dad who does want me". not to mention that she feels GUILTY for being the product of an affair. she says that she's "the living embodiment of someone betraying gilear". thats so fucking sad. and couple all this with the loss of her friends, a double puberty- tiefling *and* normal (i hc fig as a trans girl so this is especially gutwrenching for her)- and that's enough to fuck up Anyone
sklonda was a wonderful parent to riz and so was pok- i love them both- but just because they were both great parents doesn't mean there's not trauma from the loss of a parent, especially since riz is so young, and he had so little closure. remember, all he knew was that his dad died in a shipwreck. plus, his only friend goes missing and so do a bunch of other girls and he has no answers about what happened. and maybe it's not trauma, but the combination of these two things is definitely a huge emotional weight on him, especially before he met the bad kids!!
and gorgug- like i said, he had no friends growing up. i don't think i can fully explain how much it hurts to have no sympathetic peers growing up- and i had some friends, even if they weren't always the best of friends and even if i couldn't talk to them about everything. gorgug had absolutely no one. not to mention the fact that he grows up in a community where no one looks like him- and wilma and digby were absolutely great parents (the world if all parents were like wilma and digby.....) but that doesn't change the fact that there was a huge gap between him and the rest of the people who surrounded him. and how sad and lonely that must have been. how utterly full of despair
kristen. kristen applebees. i think people forget that her home life wasn't just ultra-religious but a full on fucking cult. she had probably never met anyone outside the cult before going to the academy. the reason she was even allowed to go was probably because coach daybreak worked there and would keep an eye on her. and kristen's a lesbian. and it's canonical that she's a lesbian, yes, but also that the cult was explicitly very homophobic. i firmly, adamantly believe that there was a whole journey between season 1 and 2 where kristen had to grapple with that. tracker brought her to lgbt parties and kristen literally hid in the bathroom because it was so fucking alien and scary to her.
how full of fear she must have been growing up, expressing herself and immediately being told that it's a sin in the eyes of helio. ESPECIALLY because she was the fucking chosen of helio. she was their pinnacle, the embodiment of everything they stood for. there's so many things that the cult probably did that kristen didn't even bat an eyelid at. the scene in dishing with a demon where she's talking about the harvest festival, kristen talks about adults torturing children with sleep deprivation as if she's talking about a cool summer class she took. gorthalax talks about the harvestmen and kristen doesn't think about cultists in robes hurting people, she thinks of corn ears and pop quizzes and her parents.
these kids were all so fucked up prior to meeting each other. and yknow what. i think that might be why they all ended up being so close. there's a certain recognition that kids who have Gone Through Shit have for one another. especially if you fight a demon corn glob butthole together.

🌌 for everyone!
From this ask list.
🌌 MILKY WAY - what was the inspiration behind your oc? what was the first thing you decided about them?
This one's actually really interesting because, as I mentioned before (but a while ago), Zorlok is a character I played in a Monster of the Week campaign and this story/cast is inspired by that game. So, many of the characters did not start off as my OCs. Some are new and some are adopted (though I've changed them considerably). It's been an interesting process divorcing these characters from who they were before and reinventing them in my storytelling style.
Tommy: When I thought of the idea for Zorlok, Tommy came about simultaneously. Originally, his name was Timmy (so, the bottom left bit in this art by @mansymdraws nearly made me do a spit take the first time I saw it). The idea for Tommy came from me asking myself who a demon would least like to be stuck in a Faustian pact with and boom, Tommy was born. I think he's also inspired by TV/movie high schoolers like the kids in Stranger Things, It Chapter 1, etc.
Dev: Dev was one of the other two PCs in the original campaign. The main idea behind Dev has stayed pretty similar (a former criminal trying - not so successfully at times - to redeem xemself with an ex-friend detective nipping at xyr heels) but I've made a lot of changes to xyr backstory that were likely inspired by Dorian Gray, Fig Faeth, Arsene Lupin, Peter Pan, Jay Gatsby, etc. I also took a small element of the original character's story and altered it to work better within the context of this story (hint: the original Dev—who wasn't named Dev—didn't wear an eye patch). I also knew that the gender selectable Dev I was creating would use neopronouns when nonbinary and that xe would play with/ignore gender norms no matter xyr gender identity.
EJ: The other PC, EJ is probably the character I've made the fewest changes to. I think that I've turned down some of the original goofiness of EJ, who was a bumbling ball of anxiety before, and made them a somewhat more optimistic bookworm (though they are still in many ways a bumbling ball of anxiety). In the original campaign, EJ's player and I loved to play off the Odd Couple-esque dynamic between the two who were forced to constantly be around each other even though they didn't always get along. That's something I've kept. They also have a non-traditional relationship with gender (but, in all honesty, you can probably just copy and paste that into the description of every character I write).
Adam/Eve: One of the original NPCs, A/E—who was originally just Adam, a cis man—arose from a character choice associated with Dev's character, specifically this one:
Tumblr media
Randomly, our GM (or Keeper in this system) named the detective Adam and I enjoyed playing off that since I was playing a demon. When I took over the character I wanted to continue playing with the Adam thing, but I wanted them to be a trans person who had adopted the name as a way to eschew their former faith and project the idea of them remaking themself and their body in their own image. They're also inspired by classic film noir detectives, Riz Gukgak from Dimension 20, and the idea of Sherlock/Ganimard (or someone who thinks they're Sherlock/Ganimard).
Lucía: Originally Anna, Lucía was just a member of a rival group we were pitted against. She was completely different in terms of personality, appearance, skillset, etc. Really, Lucía's pretty much an original character who occupies Anna's former spot. (She's also tied to ROs from a different IF that I've worked on which is set in the same universe). Lucía's also inspired by the women from Arcane, particularly Vi and Caitlyn. Her name is also inspired by Lucifer (as many of the characters' names are inspired by religious themes and/or are deeply symbolic) though she's only like him in that they've both fallen from a position of grace having sided with the enemy and... you know what, yeah, Lucí's actually got a few parallels to ole Luci.
Ciel: Ciel is the hybrid of an original NPC, Ethan—who was a hunter on the rival team with Anna—and the version of Zorlok that I played. (And yeah, the name wasn't intended to be so but might in some ways be a reference to Black Butler). Ciel's big thing is that they pride themself on being a mystery, so, I won't say anything else here. 😈
The Celestial: A completely original character. I can't say too much without getting into spoilers, but the Celestial emerged from my desire to have a character who knew Zorlok's past but couldn't share it with them. Who could provide some insight into infernals and celestials, but you also can never be sure if it's reliable info or not. I've suggested before that eir relationship with Z is similar to Aziraphale and Crowley's from Good Omens, and I think that's a really good comparison (but even though ey's meant to be a fallen angel figure, the Celestial's closest to Crowley in all honestly). Ey's mostly inspired by classic roguish tricksters like Loki, Anansi, etc. but also fall into the classic fallen angel archetype.
Danny: Danny was a character from the original game, though I can't tell you why they came about. I'd also just like to say that I didn't name Danny and they've always been a ghost, but, yeah they're perhaps a bit inspired by Danny Fenton (and I don't know if that was my GM's original plan but I like to think it was). I think I've drawn aspects of them from many different places, including Rick Blaine, Samwise Gamgee, Jorah Mormont, Indiana Jones, Victor Frankenstein, Edward Elric, etc.
Rose: Rose is one of the characters who's based on an NPC from the campaign, though he was originally named Chris Jeffries. Rose serves as a domestic, "normal" contrast to the fantastical absurdity of the rest of this story. I also knew I wanted an older RO who was a parent and Rose was perfect for that. Character-wise, I know that my GM based him on Andy Dwyer from Parks and Recreation and while I've tried to keep a bit of that spirit, Rose is a lot more complex now. He'd also fit into the game Dream Daddy while the rest of the cast is more Monster Prom.
Okay, I think I answered all these questions 😅 Let me know if I missed something or if you have any questions about this stuff!

How The Evans (+ Quicksilver) Would React To Yoplait’s New Gushers Yogurt
a/n: I don’t honestly know how I came up with this. I guess I just really liked the yogurt I bought (I have big Gilear Faeth vibes rn) and decided I wanted to share it with all the Evans and you guys. I hope you enjoy and, like, maybe go buy some if you’re intrigued.
Warnings: Mild language, very small non-graphic mention of murder, recreational drug usage (Tate is a stoner, sue me)
--------
Tumblr media
Tate Langdon
Because he died as a teen in the early 90′s, Tate would be a big fan of the types of crazy, super processed and flashy snacks that came out of that era.
Tate pretty much lived on 3D Doritos and Crystal Pepsi before his death. He still misses Dunkaroos.
He also has the biggest appetite of any ghost in the house because when he smokes he gets phantom munchies, so he sneaks into the kitchen and steals snacks to fulfill his cravings.
His first encounter with gushers yogurt would be on a snack run for the two of you while you were both zooted to high hell.
He would return almost entirely snackless, fully fixated on the little yellow cup in his hand.
“What the hell is this?” “Uh, yogurt?” “No, it’s not just yogurt, it’s weird!”
You’d finally look up from your place on the bed to find Tate in the doorway, red eyed, giving the yogurt cup a thousand yard stare.
Tate would be extremely confused because as far as he knew gushers were filled fruit snacks and definitely did NOT belong inside yogurt.
“Does it have gushers in it or something? Because that sounds awful,” “Kind of? It’s like... well, it would be easier to show you than to explain it. Did you bring a spoon?”
Of course he hadn’t.
When he did return with a spoon the two of you shared it.
Unsurprisingly, Tate didn’t hate it. It was a little weird, but overall it reminded him of the rare good times he had when he was still alive and the house hadn’t fully sunk it’s claws into him yet.
His favorite flavor is green apple. It just matches his vibe.
Tumblr media
Kit Walker
Kit is a man with pretty old fashioned values. He’s the kind of person who believes that he should be able to provide for his family so you don’t have to work. He also thinks it’s important for you to spend time with the kids because he’s gone at work so much.
This whole situation combined with the fact that money was a little tight led to you taking Thomas and Julia with you whenever you had to run errands and they weren’t at school.
One such time you were grocery shopping. That’s when they found the gushers yogurt.
Kids have an eye for sweet things. Any food labelled like a dessert will make them go crazy, even if it’s just a flavored yogurt.
In the end you bought a few. They were cheap enough that they didn’t make a huge difference to your budget and they were perfect to go in the kids lunches.
Only the next morning did you realize that when you got the kids their yogurts you forgot to get Kit his own plain ones to put in his lunch. You mulled over your options and, in the end, decided to give Kit one of the gushers ones in his lunch pail for work. it’s just flavored yogurt, what could go wrong?
A lot, apparently.
At around lunch time you got a call from Kit at the shop.
“Mrs. Walka’, I believe I might have picked up the wrong lunch today,”
You’d immediately ask him what was wrong before remembering the yogurt.
“Nope, that’s yours Kit,” “Sweetheart, you’re killing me,” “Did I forget a spoon?”
Kit would explain, after some laughter, that the guys at the auto shop were giving him shit about the ‘kids yogurt’ in his lunch.
If you tried to apologize he’d stop you. It was all the same to him, he just wanted to make sure he hadn’t taken one of the kid’s lunches accidentally.
You’d laugh about it later as a bright spot in what ended up to be a long and tedious day for the both of you.
Besides that one occasion Kit wouldn’t eat gushers yogurt often, but sometimes if he was home during breakfast he’d have a cup of it with his cereal or toast.
He’s a fan of the classics, so his favorite flavor is tropical punch.
Tumblr media
Kyle Spencer
Before his death, Kyle wouldn’t have any strong feelings towards gushers yogurt besides liking that it was a cheap snack that went on sale a lot.
As a broke college student with a calcium deficiency, he would appreciate it for what it was, a sweet means to an end.
After his death, though, it would be a different story.
Franken-Kyle had to re-learn all of his basic life skills from the ground up after the accident, which meant chewing food and not choking weren’t things he knew how to do automatically
In the time while he still couldn’t eat by himself, you fed him a lot of yogurt.
Most of the time it was cheaper and more pleasant that the baby food or health puree alternatives. It also was a food he had eaten pretty regularly when he was alive, so you thought it might make him happy to have some sense of normalcy in his new world.
He enjoyed the gushers yogurt particularly for a few reasons.
For one, it had fun colors! The bright reds, blues, and greens were entertaining and more mentally stimulating than the normal neutral colors of his food. It was also sweet, kind of like a dessert instead of a meal.
The big selling point, though, was the popping bubbles inside.
For a while after his death all Kyle ate were smooth semi-liquid foods he couldn’t possibly choke on while he re-learned how to feed himself. Gushers yogurt, though, had little popping bubbles that added texture while also not being large enough to choke on.
It was a win-win for both of you.
Even once Kyle had regained his ability to chew and eat normally, he still liked to have gushers yogurt with his breakfast.
“Bu...bbles,” “Huh?” “I want....bubbles” “Oh! You want the yogurt with the bubbles, Ky? I’ll get it in a second,”
He wouldn’t have the words to express it, but the real reason Kyle likes gushers yogurt and continues to eat it is that it reminds him of you and the time you spent together while you taught him how to live again.
His favorite is blue raspberry by a large margin. He enjoys tropical punch too, but he dislikes green apple.
Tumblr media
Jimmy Darling
Jimmy has very few opinions when it comes to food. To him, eating is just something he has to do to keep himself alive and performing, so he doesn’t put much thought into what and when he eats, even at the diner.
When you first met him, he was barely eating one good meal a day just because he was so busy.
So, one of the things you started to do when you and Jimmy got closer was bring him little snacks throughout the day he could eat quickly to keep him going.
They weren’t huge things, just an apple here and a sandwich there, but Jimmy really appreciated you putting in the effort to search him out and keep him healthy.
The gushers yogurt would be introduced, once again, because it’s super inexpensive.
You were out shopping for Jimmy’s snacks when you found it on sale, 20 for $10. It was a great deal, and Jimmy’s diet was severely lacking in calcium, so you bought a bunch of different flavors and brought one to him as a trial-run the next day after a performance.
“Hey dollface, you got something for me?” “I just might,”
Only after he swept you up into a crushing hug would you be able to offer him the yogurt, which he’d take gratefully and eat in less than a minute.
You took this as a good sign, and ended up buying some for Jimmy whenever it was on sale.
He asked you about why you bought them once and you genuinely couldn’t give him an answer. You just thought they were an easy snack and found they were on sale a lot more often than other things were.
Jimmy doesn’t have a favorite flavor, but if you asked him he’d just respond with whatever your favorite was.
Tumblr media
James Patrick March
James Patrick March doesn’t usually have strong feelings about trivial things. As a serial killer and a ghost, small strange details of life in the 21st century just aren’t important enough for him to care about. Even modern foods with all of their artificial dyes and preservatives don’t tend to bother him. Well, all except one...
He fully believes that gushers yogurt is the worst, most evil thing that man has ever created in history, including himself.
It is entirely irrational how much he hates it.
The weirdest part is that he doesn’t mind how it tastes, he just has a random grudge against it by principle.
The first time he saw it was after Liz picked some up for you while she was out getting some groceries for the hotel.
James had come into the habit of asking you to make him grocery lists so the hotel had foods you enjoyed ever since the hoover stew incident. This time you had asked for something sweet you could eat as a snack between meals. Liz ended up picking out the gushers yogurts along with a few other little snacks
When you ran down to the kitchen to help Liz and Iris put the groceries away you grabbed a cup and ended up taking it upstairs so you could eat something while you were reading in bed.
It just so happens that James was finishing up with some office work and walked into your room right as you ate a spoonful of the bright blue yogurt.
He was, to say the very least, concerned.
Why was it that color? Food is not supposed to be that color???? And what were those little lumps?
While he fussed over your health, you held out your spoon and offered him a bite. He was skeptical at first, and his fears were only confirmed when he accepted the bite.
His delicate 1920′s tastebuds couldn’t take it.
“Darling, how do you eat that slop?” “James, it’s just yogurt!” “That is not yogurt, it’s an affront to the universe,”
Never one to back down in the face of James, you asked Liz to keep buying them every time she went out for groceries
Things were quiet until, a few months later, you found James standing over a recent kill eating a gushers yogurt.
“Darling, this isn’t what it looks like,” “I think it’s exactly what it looks like,” “There wasn’t anything else in the fridge,” “James, you’re dead. You don’t have to eat,” “...drat,”
James is adamant that he doesn’t have a favorite flavor because he hates it.... but its actually tropical punch.
Tumblr media
Rory Monahan
Rory normally wouldn’t feel any which way about gushers yogurt.
Don’t get me wrong, he’s a goof and has nothing against eating fun little dessert yogurt, there’s just no reason for him or you to buy and eat it.
But if he got a brand deal with Yoplait to advertise it?
Count him in.
You’re eating gushers yogurt with every meal while he vlogs.
Breakfast? Yup. Lunch? Yup. Dinner? Yup.
Oh, you’re getting a snack? Well the only snack Rory bought when he ran out to the store is gushers yogurt.
It’s all over his social media.
He ends up becoming the face of Yoplait and does quite a few primetime commercials, which surprisingly help out with his career. Think what Shaq is the The General Auto Insurance.
“Now with new popping bubbles that gush with roarin’ fruity flavor,” “pffffft!” “What! It’s paying our bills!”
Despite being surrounded by gushers yogurt, Rory wouldn’t actually have a favorite flavor. Once you eat that much yogurt it all tastes exactly the same.
Tumblr media
Kai Anderson
Kai... well Kai is a tough one, as usual.
He’s not someone who likes to be perceived as weak, and what’s weaker than a man who’s seen eating flavored yogurt made for kids?
Well, a lot of things, but Kai’s toxic masculinity doesn’t let him see that.
In his eyes, gushers yogurt is simply not befitting of the divine ruler.
If you were close enough to him to offer some in a private moment, he’d probably find some way to use it in a weird, extended metaphor about the world in the hopes of manipulating you.
“In this world there’s people like me, like this yogurt, and people like you, fragile bubbles waiting to burst and spread your issues to the people who can still be saved. People like me cushion-” “Oh shut up and eat your yogurt, Kai,”
Kai doesn’t have a favorite flavor, but kind of like James he’s only being pretentious. Who knew divine rulers are above picking favorite flavors?
Tumblr media
Peter Maximoff
Peter would be the most on-board of anybody on the gushers yogurt trend. Like, even more on board than Kyle.
This man uses a loooot of energy while he’s running around, so he needs super sugary foods like twinkies to be around for his inevitable snackfests at random hours of the day.
He also loves junk food. At one point you started wondering whether the X-gene prevented Peter from getting cavities, because he eats more sugar than anybody else you know.
You like to go shopping with Peter because it keeps him from stealing (well, keeps him from stealing as much, but that’s beside the point) and even though he acts like a literal child whenever you make him come with you, he appreciates slowing down and spending time doing something you like.
Usually he gets bored easily in the “healthy food” aisles at the grocery store, meaning anything that isn’t the soda, chips, or snack aisles, but during a random trip to the store he suddenly rushed off out of your sight while you were in the dairy aisle picking up cottage cheese.
When he came back a second later, his arms were full of yogurt.
“Peter, what are you doing?” “Have you seen these? Look at the flavors! They have starburst, and key lime pie, and gushers with popping beads!!!! Popping! Beads!”
You would try to insist that he didn’t need to buy that much yogurt, especially because he hadn’t tried it before and didn’t know if he’d like it, but Peter would give you his world famous puppy dog eyes and you’d give in.
From then on he’d have gushers yogurt (and starburst yogurt, to be honest) in his mini-fridge most of the time.
You didn’t mind. Technically it was healthier than his twinkie addiction, so as long as your speedster was getting calcium in his diet you weren’t about to complain.
He probably has stronger bones than Wolverine with all the yogurt he eats.
His favorite flavor is green apple, but he’d say it’s blue raspberry to go with his aesthetic.

The first time Katja met Adaine Abernant, she didn't think about her that much, there was a dragon to slay after all and she hadn't seen Cinnamon in over a year.  But when you're both part of the best adventuring parties at the school, it's kind of hard to avoid each other.  But after a few more meetings with the Elven Oracle and Katja finds that avoiding Adaine is the last thing on her mind.
The first time Katja met Adaine Abernant, it wasn’t really a meeting.  Ms. Faeth had just rescued her and the rest of the girls that would become the Seven Maidens from Kalvaxus’ lair in the Red Waste and brought them to the gym of the Aguefort Adventuring Academy.  Katja had been locked in that crystal for nearly a year, without Cinnamon, and was pissed.  Johnny Spells was dead, Penelope Everpetal was dead, Kalvaxus was dead too, but not passed the point of a revivify spell which meant he could still be a target of their wrath.
So the future Seven Maidens said their hellos to the Bad Kids, some light introductions group to group, before the seven of them went to town ripping apart the scaley bastard in retribution.  Adaine, well she was a pretty elf wizard in a cool jean jacket, but she barely registered on Katja’s mind with revenge on the way.  It wasn’t how Katja ever thought her prom night was going to be, no white horse for Cinnamon to court while she danced with some faceless someone who didn’t judge her for wearing her riding clothes, but it was still a good night. Katja just thanked the Bad Kids for what they did for them.  She wasn't really herself, she just wanted to kill Kalvaxus again and get her beautiful horse.  Still, it was a good night.
The second time Katja saw Adaine was a few weeks later.   Technically it was a lower stakes, but still anxiety ridden environment, a party at Katja’s house, or her family’s manor as it was.  It was supposed to be a small get together organized by Penny between the two parties so they could get to know each other better.  But unfortunately, Skrank, the guy Ostentatia was dating, thought it was a house party and ‘accidentally’ invited the whole school.  Ostentatia apologized, but the deed was already done and at least a hundred or so Aguefort students were in her house partying down.
Once the ‘guests’ arrived, Katja was too anxious to tell them all to leave, she wasn’t good at speaking in front of crowds.  Ostentatia took charge and responsibility and assured everyone that if they went above the first floor or out on the grounds, Gertie would kill them, and no, they wouldn’t be paying for the resurrections.
There was loud music and dancing, and so many people talking, it was too much for Katja who left immediately.  She went to the stable, her happy place and started brushing Cinnamon, her happy Horse.  “Mistress Katja, I thought you were having friends over this evening,” Cinnamon asked worried about her mistress.
“I was, but it became this whole big thing, not Ostentatia’s fault, but still, more people got invited, and you know me better than anyone else so you know that I don’t do well with so many people,” Katja said disappointed.  Forming a party with the other girls had done a lot for Katja in getting her to socialize more.  She wasn’t ready for parties, but she had friends, people friends for the first time in her life and it felt good.  She was hoping she could make friends with some of the Bad Kids that rescued her and the other Maidens, at least some of them.
There was a slow creak at the door that surprised Katja and Cinnamon, the door to the stables didn’t creak.  It was a heavyish wooden door, but Lockwood, Gertie, and her could open it easily without drawing out the slow creak.  At the door was Adaine, who looked just as shocked to see someone else outside the party as Katja.
“I’m sorry, I’m not trying to snoop, I promise,” Adaine said panicking a bit, “the main hall was a bit too noisy and I wanted to finds someplace where I can hear myself think.  I didn’t mean to disturb you, I’ll go-,” she said moving to leave.
“No,” Katja said loudly, shocking the two of them and the 101 horses in the stable. “I mean,” she cleared her throat to center herself, “you don’t have to go, I came out here for the same reason.
“Oh,” Adaine said surprised, before letting out the prettiest smile Katja had ever seen, “well thank you.”  For a moment the two of them sat in an awkward silence before Adaine broke it.  “I’m Adaine Abernant,” she said holding out her hand for Katja to shake.  “I know we’ve met before but I don’t think I ever formally introduced myself.”
“Katja Cleaver,” Katja said, taking the smaller woman’s hand in her own.  They were small hands, Adaine was a small girl, even smaller compared to someone of Katja’s size, but they were calloused and rough, not like any elf or wizard Katja had ever met.  “But you knew that…,” she said awkwardly, she wasn’t good at talking to anyone outside the Seven Maidens and the staff that worked at her house.  Then she thought of something, “and this is my horse Cinnamon,” she said pointing to her best friend.
Katja could talk about Cinnamon and horses for days, she knew that it weirded some people out, but if Adaine thought she was a strange horse girl she would leave and probably wouldn’t get along with Katja anyway.
“Oh she is beautiful,” Adaine said moving closer to get a good look at the horse in the pen, “she’s a palomino if I’m not mistaken,” she asked Katja, though Katja didn’t know why.
“That is correct Ms. Abernant, she is indeed a palomino,” Cinnamon spoke up.
Adaine made a weird sound, something that Katja didn’t know and was worried.  A lot of the girls she knew growing up loved horses, but whenever Cinnamon started to speak they would freak out.  Katja didn’t know why, a magical talking horse should have been every little girl’s dream, it was hers, but most girls her own age didn’t seem to agree.   She was worried that Adaine would be like those girls, but instead Adaine’s eyes lit up.
“A magical. Talking. Horse.” Adaine said each word separately.   The Elven Oracle was practically bouncing with excitement with that knowledge.  For the rest of the night, Adaine kept asking Cinnamon and Katja question after question, her curiosity never being satisfied, until the party was over and the rest of the Bad Kids came to collect their wizard.
It was Katja’s house and being one of the few members of the Seven Maidens that was drunk meant that it was her job to do most of the cleaning.  Oh her friends tried to help the best they could and Gertie and Lockwood really wound up doing most of the actual cleaning, but looking back, it was still one of the best nights Katja ever had.
It would be a while until Katja and Adaine would get to hang out.   They were friendly of course, exchanging smiles and pleasantries when they passed in the hall, they had a few conversations here or there when they could, but they were in different parties and were different classes.  Fighters and Wizards didn’t have much cross over in classes at Aguefort unless they multiclassed, or depending on the subclass you took.
Katja was hoping that Adaine would change her wizard specialization to bladesinging.  She always seemed eager to punch people according to Zelda’s second hand stories and she had the dex for it.  Katja just really wished they could hang out more since that night.  You know like friends did, friends that were really pretty and super interested in your best friend who was a magical talking horse.  It wasn’t a crush thing.
Besides, Adaine being a literal Oracle kind of meant she was stuck in the divination school even if she wanted to.  Katja thought about changing her subclass to eldritch knight, she liked being a battlemaster, but she always felt like she came up short when it came to magic unlike her friends who all seemed like they could do magic stuff.  But the stories she heard from the eldritch knights in the fighter classes always made the wizards they had classes with into bullies and snobs.  Always making fun of them for not being smart enough, and since she was already held back one grade, Katja knew she would be tormented the second she walked into a wizard class.  Since she was a half-orc, they’d probably assume she was a stupid barbarian who was too dumb to know the number of her classroom.  Nope, Katja couldn’t put herself through that, so she stayed a battlemaster just as Adaine stayed a diviner, and she just wouldn’t hang out with her very platonic friend at school.
But luck would change one day, when Adaine approached her after school one day, “hello Katja,” she said in a friendly tone, but Katja could tell there was some worry behind it.
“Hey Adaine,” Katja said trying to sound as cool as possible, “do you need something.  Not that you need something to talk to me,” she tried to assure the wizard.  “I just mean you look worried, not that you look bad, you always look beautiful, I can just tell that something is on your mind.”  Saved it, no one would be the wiser.
“I actually do need a favor,” Adaine said ignoring Katja's slip of the tongue.  "You probably know that all sophomores need to take a class on Traveling, you know making camps in dangerous terrain, finding food and water to turn into rations, and of course long distance traveling on and off road."
Katja knew where this was going having taken the class last year.  It was an individual class where you couldn't cooperate with your party.   Each student needed to spend 5 days outdoors without a permanent form of shelter, prepare 10 days worth of rations from foraged or hunted resources, and log 10 miles on some form of transportation other than one's own feet.  It had been easy for the Seven Maidens, Sam had let the other girls use her car, Sebastian made sure no one crashed, or Katja had over a hundred magical horses to choose from.
"Most students either use this to get hours towards their learners permits or take the bus for their mileage," Katja said.  Though she couldn't understand why someone would choose to ride in a car or bus over riding a horse.
"That seems wise," Adaine admitted, "Fabian has his possessed motorcycle, Gorgug has his parents van, Fig's mom has her griffen Baxter for her to use, we have all carried Riz enough to count for his time, and Kristen…, her girlfriend Tracker is a werewolf so there's that," she said shaking her head in annoyance.
"I'm sure there are a lot of jokes about her riding her girlfriend," Katja couldn’t help herself, though she felt slightly bad when Adaine let out an actual groan.
“There are so many,” Adaine whined.  But Katja thought it was cute all the same, “it’s even worse since I live with them.  Well, I live with Jawbone and Tracker,” she explained, “Kristen just happens to spend the night more often than not.  I don’t mind that, her parents are horrible, but it was bad enough when they just had sex every night, having to hear the all the bad sex puns they make has become too much.”
“So what are you going to do,” Katja asks, knowing Adaine mentioned her party members but not herself.
“Well…,” Adaine said as she played with her massive crystal orb in her hands without meeting Katja’s eyes, something she did when she got nervous.  “I have some options, Jawbone offered to let me use his car, but the thing is a death trap.  I could ask my friends for a ride, but I think that defeats the purpose of an independent study.  I thought about asking Tracker if I could ride on her wolf form like Kristen when they weren’t…, you know,” her pale cheeks burned bright red, but Katja didn’t say anything.  “But I don’t think I could stand the jokes that would come with asking anyway.  My fly spell would count I suppose, I heard from some of the other wizards that was an option most of them used, but I don’t feel like trying to fly for miles and doing nothing else even if I could knock out my required mileage in a day.”
That was a lot to hear, but Katja let her go.  Katja wasn’t much of a talker at the best of times and Adaine seemed like a wordy woman, it was probably best to let her go and get to her point.
“I was hoping that maybe I could come over and ride Cinnamon with you,” Adiane asked, finally getting to the issue.  “Or you know another one of your horses, if you don’t want anyone else riding Cinnamon.”
It was too late, Katja was already imagining it.  Adiane, beautiful, regal despite how small she was, dressed in a classical cowgirl’s outfit, an outfit Adiane wouldn’t even how it looks much less own, riding Cinnamon, the greatest and most beautiful horse in the world.  It was something out of one of Katja’s wet dreams.  A very platonic wet dream of course, one that all young women have about their friends growing up.  Definitely not something strange.
“I mean sure, I have no problem with that,” Katja half roared half whispered, she was having trouble controlling the volume of her voice.
“If it’s any trouble, I know how sometimes people get possessive and protective of their mounts and friends,” Adaine said worried she offended Katja.
“No, I think it’s perfect,” Katja assured her as quick as she could. “Cinnamon is an amazing horse and riding her can change your life. I have told her a bunch of times how much I want the whole world to be able to ride her.  It will be awesome, Adaine,” she said, making sure the smaller elf girl was looking her in the eye, “it will change your life.”
For a moment, Katja was worried her enthusiasm would scare Adaine off.  Katja knew she was weird, and her obsession with horses despite being in high school made her seem like a freak. That was why she put up such a stoic front, so people wouldn’t be creeped out when she got excited.
But once again Adaine surprised her, sure Adaine was surprised by how excited Katja was over her riding Cinnamon, but she found it charming. And cute, but much like Katja, that wasn’t a road Adaine was willing to explore at the moment.
“Great,” Adaine said with a grin she hoped matched Katja’s, “when is a good time for you? Tomorrow’s Saturday, I’m free all weekend, but I wouldn’t want to ask you to give up any of your weekend to help me with my school w-.”
Katja cut her off, “Adaine, there is nothing more that I’d want to do, believe me.”
The sincerity in her voice shocked Adaine, but also made her stomach heat up in a strange but not unpleasant way.  “Alright then,” Adaine managed to get out, “if you really don’t mind then, how about tomorrow, we can start early in the morning and then if you get sick of me you can kick me out and we can try another day.”
“Works for me,” Katja said, her face breaking out in a huge grin. She never smiled this much, but she liked it for some reason.  “I’ll see your bright and early, let's say 8:00 ish,” that would give her enough time to brush Cinnamon down and the rest of her morning chores before Adaine came over.
“Then I’ll see you then,” Adiane said, brushing her hair out of her face in another one of her nervous habits.  But she was smiling too, which was also strange to her, but like Katja she liked it.
“I’ll see you then,” Katja echoed, and the two of them went their separate ways for the day.  At least until Katja realized she was walking back into the school.  She waited 10 or so minutes before leaving, she didn’t want to make things awkward with Adaine by walking the same way as her after they said goodbye.
So yeah, Katja is a huge horse girl, and when Adaine mentioned being able to ride a horse I kind of ran with that.  Katja and Adaine are actually really good foils for each other, *spoilers* Two rich girls from families, but Adaine's parents were cold and tried to dictate her life, often emotionally abusing her when she didn't live up to their impossible standards. while Karl at least loves Katja a lot but is never around, he tries to make up for it by giving her what she wants, but never understands that she wants him around.  I doubt the Abernants ever let Adaine have a pet, that would bring too much comfort to their daughter's life while Skullcleaver manor has hundreds of horses with Katja not only having her own horse that she is able to love and carefor.  Adaine killed her dad Katja killed her mom. stuff like that.   Hopefully the next part won't take nearly as long to post, but I am gonna bet it's going to be after tomorrow's episode

After the terrible month that has been March, I finally had enough time to write this out. So even though it has been a while, let's return to the friendship dynamics between the Bad Kids and today? Today let's look at Fig Faeth and Gorgug Thistlespring.
Fig, who is the rockstar, the archdevil, the girl who charms and disguises herself into and out of every situation she comes across. Who went from the bubbly and girly Figueroth Faeth to "just Fig", who smokes and does drugs and makes out with middle-aged doctors in her free time. Who makes diy-fishnets, skips her classes and is
Gorgug, who tried to make sure that his statue was the only thing big and noticeable about him. Who is kind and gentle and doesn't even realize that people bully him until it is pointed out to him and will still only defend himself on very few occasions. Who will let himself be hurt if that means that the people he cares about are safe or at least safer.
But I think that Fantasy High: Sophomore Year has made it more clear than ever, why these two are best friends and get along so well and easy. Because it has shown us more than before, that both of them struggle a lot with imposter syndrome and thinking that they don't really deserve all the good things that happen to them, even if it shows itself in different ways.
Fig feeling like the "Fig" that her parents, friends, and Ayda love, isn't the real Fig and like all of these people, that she cares so much about, would leave and abandon her if they knew what she was really like and like she tricked them into being with her and liking her.
Gorgug, who feels like the life that he is living at the moment has to be a dream, a vision after his death because there is no other way, how somebody as stupid, useless, and weird as him, could actually have all these cool friends, a girlfriend and be anything else than the backpack-catching loser, that he still thinks he is.
Ant that is why they are such a good pair and such good friends after all. Understanding each other but on such a deep and underlying level that has nothing to do with deliberately thinking about what the other could need but just knowing it. Working around and with each other flawlessly.
Gorgug knows to give Fig the same support that she so often gives the others. To let her be free and herself, only offering little questions and commentary but other than that trusts her and her abilities and just makes sure that she stays as safe as possible. Not only trying to protect Fig, like in the fight in the Black Pit but also the people that Fig cares about, like Gilear whenever he feels like he needs to. Trusting her abilities to not only save herself or him but also their friends like with Kristen in the forest of the Nightmare King, when he asked Fig if she could get Kristen out faster. Letting her teleport him, without even knowing where, but trusting her judgment and plans.
Fig knows about Gorgugs self-doubt and the problems he has with standing up for himself and the things that he believes in. So she will always be the first one to compliment him, comfort him or support him in whatever it is that he does or says. When he fights, when he first started talking to Zelda, all the times he thought that people were his dad, when he talks bad about himself, or the time where he died. She knows that behind his kindness, behind his nervousness, that he is smarter and more capable than most people realize, and trusting him to protect her in battle or when both of them raced through Leviathan together and she trusted him to hold her.
No matter how much these two doubt and even sometimes hate themselves, between the two of them is so much trust, so much love, and so much support. There is never the question if they are gonna trust the other person, the question is always just if they can help. It is a deep understanding that has shown itself since probably the third episode and has just continued to grow stronger over these years that they have known each other!

Bad Kids in a Musical
Season 1
A couple of small spoilers for Fantasy High season 1. Will try and keep it as vague as possible in case you haven’t seen the whole thing.
The song that inspired this idea
Group Songs: Wanted to do this one first. Just going list the moments since they’re all going to be different styles. These are the songs everyone is in. Four people is the minimum for these songs. Also, any songs Fig is in, she is playing her guitar.
Sexy Rat
Bloodrush Field Interrogation
Them arguing over what to do when they get out of the first fight (Idk what to call it)
Detention
The Gilded Coin
“They do a dangerous dance. They’re scary”
The Inspiring Speech before The Bloodrush Battle
Them finding their gifts in their lockers
Aguefort’s Office Investigation
Them trying to help Gorgug flirt with Zelda
Fig Faeth: I definitely think her songs would be extremely metal but start mellow out as the musical when she finds her dad. Still keeping that Rock and Roll vibe but not to the immediate extreme. Her solo songs, would be her hospital and her weird dream sequence when she is unconscious in episode two. The other songs would most likely for her are, “I know I don’t open up” moments and her giving the drum sticks to Gorgug
Riz “The Ball” Gukgak: I thought Riz would have a lot of quiet and intriguing. However, after more consideration, I just came up with classical detective jazz. Kinda a quiet jazz feeling as he looks for Penny Lockstone. The main song I came up for him was him trying to convince Fabian that they are besties. Something similar to “Popular” from Wicked. (I just want to see Riz, in Fabian’s backpack like Yoda, trying to get a friendship necklace on Fabian.) Also a song called, “The Ball!”. Plus, a somber song when he finds out about his dad’s cool job.
Gorgug Thistlespring: Gorgug’s solo song would definitely be him trying to find someone to give his metal flower to. It would kinda be a fast pace song with that edge of panicking. Possibly even a, “Are you my dad?” song. Most of his music would be hard rock or extremely calming and peaceful. Depending if he is raging or not. He shares a song with Fig and would probably shares a song with Zelda. I’m thinking something like, “If I Could Tell Her” from Dear Evan Hansen. His final song would be when he convinces Ragh to help them in the final battle. Maybe a song with Kristen where they talk about their experiences in the afterlife.
Kristen Applebees: Girl in Red.
Adaine Abe-
Kristen Applebees: No seriously. I do feel feel like her songs would be very similar to Girl in Red’s style. I also like to think she would be the focus character. Mainly because a lot of things are related to The Harvest Men and The Corn Cuties. I believe that there would be a song where Adaine, Fig, Kristen, and Riz(broke my own rule about group songs but idc) sing next to Strongtower’s Vending Machine(Maybe Fig will be holding/eating yogurt from Gilear) about how fun it is staying in the same building. Maybe even a song with Adaine where they talk about how terrible there parents are. Kristen just coming to the realization while Adaine is just trying to be helpful and give advice. Also a song when Kristen realizes she like Tracker.
Adaine Abernant: I think, since she only listened to classical music(stated in episode 3. I think.), would have a same style as Riz’s(is that how I spell his name in possessive?) at the beginning. However, it takes a different approach than Fig’s. Instead of mellowing out, it becomes more rebellious. Starting to ignore the elements of music and becoming its own thing. In the finally battle, however, she regreses as the music becomes quiet. Jawbone saving her could be an inspirational song as the music becomes slowly triumphant. It reaches its highest point when she gets her meds. As apart of The Nerd Sqaud(Adaine and Riz), she would have an investigation song with Riz when looking at Johnny Spells garage. Would definitely have a song with Fig similar to “What Is This Feeling”
Fabian Seacaster: So, a lot of upbeat and triumphant music. I also think it would have a mix of Sea Shanties and Football Higlight music.(I believe Bloodrush is just fantasy football. Idk if that is confirmed or not but all evidences points to that.) I think he would have a “Get’cha Head In The Game” like song during Bloodrush tryouts. Possibly a somber song for his defining moment in episode 15. Even a potential group song with him, Kristen, and Gorgug on The Bloodrush Field. I would love to see the three of them singing to each other a motivational song while they fight.
Gilear Faeth: A song about yogurt and being the lunch lad. That is all.

1. The Power of a Good List which is a Marvel fic that exists within someone else's fic universe!! outsider POV my beloved <3 (165 kudos)
2. love with every stranger, the stranger the better, my unfinished sansaery GBBO fic that i wanna finish so bad. when will my muse return from war (140 kudos)
3. hit me with your sweet love, steal me with a kiss, this was my first ted lasso fic and honestly i'm really proud of it so im glad it's on the list (104 kudos)
4. got a lotta love to give, i never expected people to read my dad!colin fic so the fact that people liked it? i love it (95 kudos)
5. The Council, riz and the bitchy besties!! absolutely one of my fav things i've ever written, riz POV my beloved (79 kudos)
Do you reply to comments, why or why not?
i do!! i love seeing comments and even if i just reply in emojis i try to respond to all of them!
What’s the fic you’ve written with the angstiest ending?
idk if any of my fics have truly /angsty/ endings? but some of my fics that are just like cutoff convos are pretty angsty? most of them are in my faeth family feels tag!
What’s the fic you’ve written with the happiest ending?
honestly i do go hurt/comfort a lot, or like emotionally sappy, but my happiest fic is probably my sandra lynn/jawbone kitchenware fic, or my brancella gbbo au
Do you write crossovers?
i did one crossover fic for the d20 alphabet challenge!! i will not link it <3
Have you ever received hate on a fic?
i don't think so? i've gotten some comments that i weren't Sure, but i've chosen to take them as compliments

nope! i've done some fade to black stuff but no real smut
Have you ever had a fic stolen?
no?? i dont think so
Have you ever had a fic translated?

What’s a WIP that you want to finish but don’t think you ever will?
not really?? i mean i really want to finish the fig electra heart au but i might make it a series rather than like a chapter fic
What are your writing strengths?
i like to think dialogue! but i also know it's not my Best. i do a lot of descriptions but tbh i do like my one liners, or using one line to get what i'm trying to say across. i also like to think that i'm good at building tensions in scenes/i don't post if often but writing horror/gore
What are your writing weaknesses?
i know i said i like to think i'm good at dialogue, but i also know that sometimes i'm not. and also like pre planning gets me all the fucking time. i always go back and fuck with my outlines when i do make them, they never stay the same
What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?
i personally don't do it, but that's also because i don't fully trust my ability to know when someone would switch to another language. i know a lot of immigrant who do switch languages pretty often, but i also know it all depends on family structure/the character so i just avoid it for myself
What was the first fandom you wrote for?
i think PJO?? but i also probably wrote fic as a kid i forgot about
What’s your favorite fic you’ve written?
ooh i really like my aelwyn and old people fic. i'm also proud of my fig and fabian fics, but particularly stitch by stitch i tear apart!
tagging anyone who wants to!!!

following up on my previous posts about d20 seating: 1 & 2
seat archetypes (all seasons)
as you can imagine, finding a throughline that exactly fits every d20 character that sits in a seat is never fully going to work. i'm not jamming them into an archetype that doesn't fit. these are big general thoughts, just like they were for the intrepid heroes seasons. anyway:
L1: pretty even mix of martial and magic--lots of partial casters. 3/4 d20 paladins. i checked. in game, there's a penchant for big swings and wild decisions. sometimes the payoff of that is insane: ricky's sacrifice in the final battle, fig making arianwen lose her magic, liam's wish, sunny & the bell, maggie giving birth, rick diggins' everything, antiope killing charity in one round, gunnie going ftl with gnosis, conrad's appeal to madam loathing, i could go on. many who sit in this chair have a penchant for party guidance/leadership. they may or may not be an official leader, but many of them are the heart of the party morally and just generally.
Characters:
Fig Faeth, Maggie, Ricky Matsui, Rick Diggins, Liam Wilhelmina, Sunny Biscotto, Gangie Green, Whitney Jammer, Antiope Jones, Terry Talbo, Gunnie Miggles-Rashbax, Dr. Aleksandr Astrovsky, Andhera, Rosamund du Prix, Thane Delissandro Katzon, Troyánn (Karkyn?), Conrad Schintz/Conscience
L2: Martial lean--only a couple of full casters. in game, these characters kick ass in high stakes scenarios (sometimes), or hit rock bottom. there is no in between. sometimes their entire arc is getting knocked down and the getting up from rock bottom in order to kick ass: leiland's whole deal, sofia's chapter 2 arc, timothy . a bunch of tanks. also, a tendency towards older men.
Characters:
Gorgug Thistlespring, Leiland, Sofia Lee, Boomer, Theobald Gumbar, Barbarella Sarsaparilla Gainglynn, Buckster $ Boyd, Katja Cleaver, Riva, Captain K.P Hob, Mother Timothy Goose, A. Tension/Attention
L3: the magic chair. lots of full casters. all 3 d20 wizards sit here. the lowkey chosen one energy persists. think about it. strong narrative investment. several characters who make the hit that takes down the BBEG. either some kind of chaotic gremlin or a parent. oftentimes both simultaneously. actually the split more reflects parent or parent issues. isolated characters who feel ignored in some way taking control of their narratives.
Characters:
Adaine Abernant, Efink Murderdeath, Kingston Brown, Agnes, Jet Rocks, Saccharina Frostwhip, Cheese, Daisy D'umpstaire, K | Dream, Penny Luckstone, Megan Mirror, Norman "Skip" Takamori, Squing, Lady Chirp Featherfowl, Pinocchio, Bishop Raphaniel Charlock, Princess Foehammer, Hunch Curio/Curiosity
R3: slight magic lean. it's the bard chair. 5 of them, to be exact. a lot of charismatic characters sit in this seat. if they're not charm-based, they go the complete opposite direction. not friendly, surprisingly violent, quite abrasive at times. learning to really understand other people and move past your perception of your own needs by contrast. this can go either direction: you can have a fully self-interested character like margaret or you can have danielle barkstock's insane selflessness.
Characters:
Fabian Seacaster, Sokhbarr, Misty Moore, TI-83, Ruby Rocks, Myrtle (the Bitch), Iga Lisowski, Rowan Berry, Vicar Ian Prescott, Sam Black, Danielle Barkstock, Tuti IV, Margaret Encino, Wetzel, Lord Squak Airavis, Puss in Boots | PIB, Karna Solara, Gertrude, Imelda Pulse/Impulse
R2: Split of martial & magic. it's high WIS or no WIS, people. trying to do better than you did before in various ways: kristen's religious crisis, kugrash's atonement, cody's whole deal, gerard's whole deal, dan fucks' revolution, rue coming out, jack's whole deal. there's a very funny split that i've found here; the ladies who sit here have a lot of power and use it to devastating effect. examples: kristen making a god and naming an old god, ostentatia's commune & divine intervention, lilith's everything, sidney taking a vercadian out in one shot. the men? they either hit rock bottom during the season or start there and work upward. the only exception i can think of is bean. and the nbs, rue and lars, are just fabulous.
Characters:
Kristen Applebees, Lilith, Kugrash, Bean, Amethar Rocks, Jack Brakkow, Cody Walsh, Lars Vandenchomp, Ostentatia Wallace, Sundry Sidney, Delloso de la Rue, Gerard of Greenleigh, Colin Provolone, Dan Fucks/Desire
R1: the rogue chair. it's more than R3's bards, with six rogues. no multiclasses. it's the rogue chair. otherwise, a bunch of rangers and sorcerers. this chair is for the plothounds. they're searching it out and making connections, or they're making big magic swings and connecting themselves to gods. they tend to put the detectives here. everyone here is going to make the dm's job easier by idk, communing with a death god (2 nickels for this seat), or going off on their own to find clues to a greater mystery.

Figueroth Faeth has adhd
First I’d like to say that I think Fig is both inattentive and hyperactive, and both of these affect her in different ways
Hyperactive
Stimming
When Emily portrays Fig she often wiggles in her seat and taps her fingers and generally just doesn’t sit still.
Fig always has her bass in her hand and sometimes just absentmindedly plucks at the strings
Impulsivity
Struggles with self control
Fig is definitely an act first think later type of gal.
Examples: the U-turn, often quickly grabbing someone and dimension door-ing, and even kissing Ayda and skateboarding away.
Hilda Hilda
Loud
I don’t know how to categorize this but every person with hyperactive adhd that I personally know doesn’t have volume control and talk A LOT
Fig has so many thoughts and it seems like her mouth is always catching up to the rest of her. Sometimes she interrupts Riz or Adaine when they are investigating.
Example: when Ayda is naming Adaine and Gorgug the two greatest wizards of the age Fig drops her disguise as Rawlings and says to make it three [greatest wizards]. She has a hard time not interrupting
Constant movement
I don’t actually have justifications for this but Fig just seems to be in constant motion, like she doesn’t have an off switch. The only times I think we see fig without some sort of energy (including angry rebellious energy) is when she’s hearing the self doubt whispers after losing Ayda and her mother to the forest.
Inattentive
Doesn’t listen when spoken to (I actually have trouble with this criteria because it’s not that we’re not listening it’s that our brain doesn’t actually realize that you are speaking to us)
Fig often asks questions about things that were just told to her moments before
Example: when Fig asks Aelwyn where she parties when just moments before Aelwyn had revealed that the party she crashed was primarily where she partied and that this was her first palimpsest attempt
Fig also does the common adhd thing where she will interrupt someone when they say something that sparks a thought. It’s not that she doesn’t want to hear what they have to say, just that she’s excited about the connection she just made!
Short attention span
Fig switches between ideas and topics quickly and can’t stay in one conversation for a long time without switching topics
However this often leads to new information sparking an old memory like when she made the connection that Penelope was trying to become eternal prom queen when Riz figured out the crowning of a king and queen was part of Kalvaxis’ curse.
This is getting pretty long so I’m gonna discuss Fig’s RSD and hyperfocus more in depth in a separate post

Prompt J: Jealousy
Bit of a longer one for Dimension 20 Alphabet @dimension20alphabet event tonight! A little figayda, because why not? Not a whole lot of spoilers in this one. Now, here’s Ayda Aguefort learning about a new emotion called jealousy!
Ayda felt… unwell.
She hated putting such a vague title on her emotions, but unfortunately she had no other word for it. The mounting pressure in her chest as she watched Fig greet all of her adoring fans after the concert made her wings flutter out of anxiety. To Ayda, this felt like the longest tour yet, but maybe she was just tired.
But tired didn’t seem to touch the frustration in her heart as she watched her paramour conversing and laughing with her fans. Ayda wasn’t frustrated with Figueroth specifically, or at least she didn’t think so. Seeing her happy made her positively glow with nothing but love and adoration for her girlfriend, who was successfully chasing and achieving her dreams. If anything, Ayda felt lucky just to be there to witness Fig’s triumphs.
This tour seemed to be different from the others, though. Fig was constantly busy with rehearsals and meet-and-greets in between the performances themselves. Sometimes, it felt like the only time Ayda actually got to see her beloved was from a distance, while she was out there being a rockstar. It didn’t seem like they had any time together, as Fig was either too tired or preoccupied. Being so close and yet so far apart made her ache, but her paramour looked so happy.
“Ms. Aguefort,” one of Fig’s assistants called. “The tour bus is around back, if you’ll follow me.”
“Actually,” Ayda rasped, her throat suddenly feeling dry. “I think I will fly back to the hotel, if that is not breaking any rules or ruining any plans.”
They checked the clipboard they were holding quickly before answering, “Not to my knowledge, Ms. Aguefort. Would you like me to tell Ms. The Infaethable for you?”
“Not until she’s finished,” Ayda responded, glancing dejectedly at Fig’s adoring crowd. “I’d hate to interrupt her.”
“Yes, ma’am.”
At those words Ayda took off, flying high above Bastion City and letting the sensation of the wind beneath her wings calm her somewhat. Up here, she could process her thoughts without worrying who was watching or, worse, if Fig would be put off by her mood. Though she knew eventually they would have to talk about all this, she wasn’t even sure when they would find the time.
Ayda alighted on the balcony of their very luxurious, and stupidly expensive, hotel room. She watched the city lights, mesmerized as they twinkled like too-bright stars. Though she’d left Leviathan several times since meeting Figueroth, sights like this still felt foreign to her. Usually that didn’t bother her because her paramour would always be at her side to guide her through it.
Ayda took a glance at the vacant seat beside her and felt steam come from her eyes.
She sat there for a long while reflecting on her loneliness. Ayda watched lights blink out one by one as the hours passed and the city began to sleep. She was about to head to sleep herself before she heard a familiar yet alarming voice in her mind that said, Ayda Aguefort, I need you! Where are you?
She didn’t have time to think about her melancholy or frustration. In fact, she didn’t have time to think at all. Ayda simply teleported to wherever Figueroth was. She tried to ignore the swell of joy at the thought that she was needed, as she came face-to-face with her paramour.
“What happened? Where are you hurt? Who did it? I swear by the Nine Winds and the Seven Stars I will—”
“You left me!”
That certainly stopped Ayda in her tracks. She took a moment to blink, process the words, and think of a response before she finally answered, “I did. You were busy.”
“You never just up and leave,” Fig exclaimed. “You didn’t even tell me! You sent my assistant to!”
Ayda looked around to ensure there were no prying eyes or paparazzi watching them. It appeared to her that they were in some sort of back alley, which was perplexing. She murmured, “I told them not to bother you while you were preoccupied. I apologize if that is not what happened.”
“They told me because it was out of character for you, Ayda,” Fig returned, a fire burning behind her ruby eyes. “What the fuck, babe?”
The flame atop Ayda’s head seemed to dim at the question, and she simply said, “I am sorry, Figueroth. I was feeling unwell.”
“Then you tell me! I would’ve—”
“Perhaps I could have told you if you were at all available, Figueroth!”
Silence fell between the two of them. Fig looked hurt and shocked, having never seen Ayda so angry. Ayda had a hand over her mouth, shocked that those words had come out her mouth at all. She took a step backwards in an attempt to seem non-threatening. Steaming tears fell from her eyes as she hoped and prayed that she hadn’t hurt her paramour’s feelings.
“I’m sorry, I… I did not mean that,” she explained, muffled by the hand that still covered her face. Her wings started fluttering rapidly. “I… do not know where that came from.”
“No, it’s okay! Hey, Ayda? I’m not angry, babe,” she soothed, taking a step forward. “Maybe a little upset or whatever, but that’s only because you seem so upset. Talk to me. I’m all ears.”
Ayda considered holding back the words, but the words came out in a babble the next moment as she blurted out, “I miss you all the time, even when we are in the same room. We have not talked, just the two of us, since before the tour began. I… I know touring makes you happy! And I love seeing you self-fulfilled and living your dream. Sometimes, it just feels like your fans get more time with you than I do and it makes me feel an emotion I do not have the words for.”
“Jealous,” Fig supplied gently. “I think you feel jealous.”
Ayda sniffled, feeling at least validated that this turmoil had a name. The satisfaction didn’t last as she caught the look of hurt on Fig’s face as she said those words. This was definitely bad. If Ayda couldn’t tell from the way it made her feel, she could absolutely see it in the way it made Fig feel.
“Figueroth, please, I did not mean to—”
“No, it’s not your fault, not entirely,” Fig interrupted, resting her warm hands on Ayda’s forearms. “Nothing could ever be more important than you, Ayda. Understand? Those fucking fans? Babe, you know I love them, but they have nothing on you. I’m sorry I made you feel alone. Next time, just tell me. I never want you to feel unloved. I love you, the resplendent Ayda Aguefort.”
“And I love you, the incredible Figueroth Faeth,” Ayda replied, pressing a gentle kiss to her lover’s forehead. “I am very sorry I shouted at you. It was not my intention.”
“Apology accepted,” Fig purred, a small smile on her face. “Now, to make up for my neglect, why don’t we go out to dinner? No tour bus, no crew, just you and me. Okay?”
“I’d like that very much, my darling paramour.”
