one thing abt thalia and percy's dynamic that is often overlooked is that percy was punished for the same things thalia was rewarded for. there's a prophecy abt one of the big three kids? percy is treated like a liar and thief and ppl refuse to talk to him. thalia? everyone respects her (including gods!) and assumes she'll do a great job saving the world. thalia is accepted immediately at camp and threatens the place percy spent two years proving he deserves. percy wants to go on a quest to save his friend? he's an attention seeker and glory stealer. thalia? well, she's the obvious choice. thalia comes up w a plan to win capture the flag that's basically "leave everything to me" and percy comes up with a plan that's basically "if you see a good opportunity, go for it," but percy is viewed as the control freak.

what i'm saying is percy had every reason to resent thalia and he didn't. he chose not to. and thalia had every reason to look down on percy and didn't.

even when they were fighting, i never saw it as a power struggle. they were being pit against each other, and instead of doing what everyone expected them to (kronos was fully expecting thalia to kill percy), they chose to love and respect each other. because they're not their parents. they're just two kids who started cracking under the pressure but refused to break.

Robin is the mean lesbian that's legit canon. Don't let her big blue eyes and excitable mannerisms or rambling when she is anxious distract you from the fact that she can be vindictive and spiteful and she will hold a grudge. She has not spent years praying for Steve's downfall because the girl she liked had a crush on him and he was a douche for nothing. She was enjoying every single embarrassing moment of Steve she saw at that awful job and had a tally of it for her own personal entertainment.

Nancy tho? She is my lil sopping wet kitten. She is just too sad and traumatized to create new bonds and reach out in a significant way. She is no mean girl she has never been one. Getting drunk at a party while trying to deal with the loss of your best friend (which you blame yourself for) and breaking down in front of your boyfriend because he is trying to deal with it by throwing himself into a routine does not make you a mean girl.

Honestly they deserve to be mean and spiteful and angry. They deserve to lash out.

Nancy is always holding herself back she is always pushing all of it down and taking charge and protecting others with no room to delve into all the fears that keep festering inside her. She has been drowning all alone for so long. She deserves to break. She deserves to shatter and she deserves to be held.

Part of me is really glad Kon was Cass's chosen male "love interest" in her batgirl series because pre black and red T-shirt Kon was just. Impossible to take seriously more than half the time. Like his solo series had some interesting stuff to say but when it came to everything else it's like the writers thought "OK how do we write the most stereotypical goofy and obnoxious teen boy" and they turned the dial so far up it became camp. I simply cannot take his and Cass's romance seriously because I can't take Kon seriously. He's trying to perform heterosexuality so hard and Cass having just discovered this as a thing is probably the only girl on the planet who could buy it. There's not a single moment where I'm like "Oh yeah she's definitely into him." but there are so many moments where I'm like "They're both trying SO hard and it's so funny because neither of them are normal in anyway and also she's clearly a lesbian."

Like if they'd gotten an actual male love interest for Cass that felt like someone she was actually into then I'd very easily see her as bisexual but the fact that she chose to "date" Kon-El, most over the top straight boy parody 8 years running, AND they decided to stay friends at the end because she realized she wasn't into the romance she was just lonely after her very intense "friend break up" with Steph? She's a lesbian your honour.

Man “Battle Nexus: New York” was a great episode but I do have one major gripe with it.
