Which BL Couple do you want to see in a Sequel?

And not just a cameo or an Our Skyy 2-episode arc.

HIStory 3: Trapped (2019, above) - I want to keep seeing how their relationship works as their morals clash.

Bad Buddy (2021) - I know we risk ruining a good thing and that we got the Our Skyy episodes, but I could watch more of these two as they learn to nurture their relationship in spite of the negativity surrounding them.

Not Me (2021) - There is SO much that can be done in this universe with these twin rebel characters. They should absolutely revive it as LGBTQIA legislation and police corruption evolves in Thailand.

Love is Science? (2021, above) - I could watch 12 whole episodes of Ou Wen learning to trust playboy bi Mark.

Semantic Error (2022, top) - Park Seoham returns from military service later this year, but IDK. I feel like there's not much else to explore here. Loved every minute of it though.

KinnPorsche (2022) - This is another couple that I feel ran its course. I would sooner watch a spinoff of Kim and Chay, even though I think Jeff Satur is more interested in music these days, because I need to know if Kim loved Chay or if he just pitied him. Plus, Kim is next-gen mob boss and I'd love to see it. And while I did enjoy Pete & Vegas, it appears we are still up in the air about whether the actor who played Pete...is a piece of sh*t. What a plot twist?

Love in the Air (2022) - Both couples contributed some of the best sex scenes to BL history, but I doubt there's more story to tell.

The Eighth Sense (2023) - They fucked me all the way up. 😭 Made To My Star 2 seem like a cake walk. I need a sequel just to know where this is going.

Day 3: Side Dish that Should've Been the Main Course

PureFolk from My Gear and Your Gown. I couldn't even tell you wtf that series was actually about because it was a total snooze fest for me BUT PUREFOLK THO??? A treat. An actual treat. Pure was an unapologetic slutty bisexual man, slanging the D to anyone who asked. Girls and Boys were CLAMORING to get at that pint-sized playboy. And with the mentality of "Relationships are stupid" who would've thought he would fall so hard and so fast for our sweet boy Folk? And for someone who claimed to hate love he was so sweet on Folk. Like completely enamored, it was disgustingly cute.

I just love that Pure was open and honest with Folk, when he declared that he was no longer for the streets and only wanted to be with Folk. Pure even let Folk go through his phone! AND THE HEIGHT DIFFERENCE??? I just enjoyed them and by the halfway point of the series I was skipping any scene that didn't have Pure or Folk in it. I needed a full-fleshed out series for them and not whatever tf the main plot was about.

Mark and Ou Wen from Love is Science? First of all, it's not a BL, but it should've been. It's not like the series was bad, I just didn't care about the main couple...at all. I tried. I did. Like super hard. The old couple was cute tho, but I was only invested in Mark and Ou Wen and Joanna (when her story intersected with theirs). Mark was such a hilarious character, the boy had me cackling with his antics. Ou Wen was our cool and suave elegant man who wore expensive suits and cared a great deal about love.

The series gave us Mark's bisexual awakening (which he handled very well). We got to see him fall head over heels in love after Ou Wen valiantly saved him from being beaten up by one of his fling's relatives (I think). They gave us Ou Wen's valid doubts about if Mark was serious about him, and his fears of being perceived negatively by the people around them. They gave us a surprise pregnancy and the struggles with deciding to abort or co-parent, glad we got the latter simply because they were such a fun trio. We even got Mark's coming out to his parents. They just had a superior storyline (and better chemistry). Also the eps were too long for such a minimal amount of Mark and Ou Wen.

Top ten bl couples- 2022 version.

(This may change as new dramas come out). In no particular order. These are just the ones that I enjoyed the most for various reasons. Posting this just because I have watched so many shows that I have lost count, but yet these are my absolute faves.

1. Adachi and Kurosawa. (Cherry Magic). Such a lovely story about respect and overcoming anxiety. They have such a sweet relationship and their story was really well paced. I want to see more of them.

2. Yoohan and Yeonwoo. (Color Rush). I loved their story and was so upset about season 2. They had such great chemistry and were literal soulmates.

3. Sarawat and Tine. (2gether). This was such a dorky but sweet romance story and season 2 only made it cuter. They had such great chemistry and I loved their interactions.

4. Mark and Ouwen. (Love is science). Even though they were a side couple I loved their story and the found family they created. They also had great chemistry and character development.

5. Wen Kexing and Zhou Zishu. (Word of honor). Two messed up and traumatised people band together and accidentally created a family while causing chaos. Loved their dynamics.

6. Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji. (The untamed). I have always loved these two from MDZS. They are such opposites but fit so perfectly.

7. Togawa and Nozue. (Old fashion Cupcake). I loved their banter and their relationship development. Their age gap was perfectly incorporated into the show. I wish the series was longer so we could see more but the few episodes were also amazingly well paced.

8. Arthit and Kongpob. (Sotus). They were one of my first dramas and I have had a soft spot for them ever since. Grumpy cat and smitten puppy is a perfect dynamic and I love it.

9. Jack and Zhao Zi. (History3: Trapped). Sunshine and sunshine protector with such a great storyline. Mercenary and a policeman with a surprising little amount of drama considering their backgrounds. They’re just so sweet and I love them so much.

10. Jang Jaeyoung and Chu Sangwoo. (Semantic Error). They had such great enemies to lovers plot and the height difference was adorable. They had me hooked by the first episode and their interactions are everything.

If you haven’t seen any of these shows then I high key recommend.

I am suuuuper bored at work so I thought I’d make a list of my top 10 BL couples*

In no particular order:

1. InKorn - Until We Meet Again. My precious babies deserved better.

2. Tian/Phupha - A Tale of A Thousand Stars. Just this whole show was phenomenal. Might need to do a rewatch soon.

3. Gun/Bar - En of Love Tossara. Probably the only En of Love I actually finished. Bless these communication kings.

4. Nozue/Togawa - Old Fashion Cupcake. I would like to thank these two for so many things, least of which is that they made me realize I actually do love age gaps. But this show is the most fantastically queer and beautiful little story and really just watch it.

5. VegasPete - KinnPorsche. Do I need to explain this one?

6. Mark/Ou Wen - Love is Science? They are a BL side couple but they so good. I will forever be holding my breath for a spin-off show with them and their little found family.

7. LeoFiat - Don’t Say No. You can pry my love of them from my cold, dead hands.

8. YuZhen/ Shi Lei - Be Loved in House: I Do. Who allowed these two to do that? It took them awhile to get there but once they did? Beautiful.

9. WitWin - Hidden Love. I don’t understand how these two were in this show. Were they worth watching the rest of the show? Unclear. I think they are but they rest of the show literally made me cry because it was so stupid…and I don’t cry. But WitWin probably had one of the best stories in any BL and yes they will make you cry.

10. Toh/Nuea and SkyJao - Secret Crush On You. I couldn’t pick just one because I love these couples for the same reasons. The love and communication these boys share with each other and even with their friends is so refreshing to see. Sure, you might need to be ready to embrace the cringe, but somehow they have some of the healthiest relationships I’ve seen in a BL
