Seventh episode aired, jujutsu nation! This is where Shibuya really starts!

_ To begin with, I really liked how they did the battle of Kokichi X Mahito. The movements and angles are much better than the first season. The neons from those laser beams were really cool too (reminds me of the shooting stars scene from Howl's Moving Castle).

_ My favorite scene from this fight was seeing Mahito changing his form to that of different animals while running away from Mechamaru, how fluid and natural it looked. Seeing him as a rabbit reminded me of what we're about to see in the anime with regards to Yuji. A really fun scene :D (Also nice to know GG agrees with me lol)

_ With this fight, I realized that there is a pattern in how GG conducts his fights. It builds a sense of assured victory over one side before a twist comes in and brutally destroys. In the first season we saw that special grade cursed spirit overcome Itadori before Sukuna appeared. We later saw a kindred spirit mistreat Megumi before he opened a Domain expansion. With Hanami it was the same. Now, in Shibuya, we will see Satoru very close to defeating the spirits before Kenjaku appears and defeats him. The same with Mahito X Itadori. Even the Yoruzo X Sukuna battle was like that from what I remember. Now, Kokichi thought he had beaten Mahito and was so confident that he could face Kenjaku, then die. This is just an observation, but given the current arc of the manga, I don't doubt that GG will follow the same pattern.

_ Miwa is too adorable for this world! I feel like she is our Itadori in Kyoto. It's so sad to know that Kokichi just wanted to stay close to his friends and colleagues, live a normal life, and in the end end up dying. And her death was so brutal and sad… My throat choked when I saw that snippet of Miwa and Mechamaru and her so excited to visit him. The world did not deserve their love.

_ AHHH, SHIBUYA HAS ARRIVED!!!!! I loved that we have a female narrator. I don't know if they're going to keep it in my language or if it's going to be Ijichi narrating again, so we'll see. But I quite liked it. The extended scenes are also excellent! _ An addendum: These extras that appeared are very beautiful, haha! I even found one dressed as Mahito and another as Ghostface. GG always inserting pop figures in his works, kskkskks (next week I want to see Gojo stomping on these people's heads like the idiot he is)

_ The teams are finally formed. I particularly like Ino, Megumi and Nanamin's relationship. I felt high vibes from a parent with their two cubs, with Ino being older and showing off for Megumi. Oh, and Nanami saying that Megumi is talented was sweet (it reminded me of this fanfic here, which is an emotional weight more than the canon proposes).

_ The Zenin + Nobara team is not bad either. I know Naobito is a little shit, but I can't hate him after knowing that his favorite pastime is watching anime. And he looks really good twirling his sharp mustache. I'm excited to see how they adapt his ability, as it's literally taking frames. (Ah, I devoured that scene Nobamaki, Mappa, I can even forgive them for what they will do)

_ GOJO SATORU IS IN SHIBUYA!!!!!!! As far as I know the next episode will adapt his fight with the curses and Itadori X Grasshopper, so we'll probably have "Yo! Satoru" at the end as an impactful closing. I'm looking forward to seeing someone calling Yuji smart! He deserves it after an entire season of being declared "dumb."

Well, next week we won't have a manga chapter, which makes me worried. If I'm right and chapter 8 ends with Kenjaku appearing, Gojo's sealing will be in chapter 9. By the evil mind of GG, he's probably up to something with this. Perhaps Sukuna delivering one last, fatal blow to Satoru? Maybe Kenjaku showing up? I can't say, but it worries me…

Nanami doesn't play games, at least not video games. He does enjoy boardgames with his partner tho, I'm convinced he'd be the one to let you win in card games as well. yup some of the most controversial things in the fandom. And just for some clarity, even though I don’t owe anyone this, I myself am trans; I use He/They pronouns and am AFAB (fun fact my pfp is a drawing I did of my partner, not of myself).

I’d like to preface this with this statement: obviously everyone is entitled to their own opinion, and I’m not trying to target or judge anyone that feels differently than I do. Please don’t send me hate for my thoughts, because I wouldn’t send you hate for yours. 

Also, I’m putting a spoiler warning here for all the games, because every game is going to be spoiled by at least one of the characters listed. 

Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc

Chihiro Fujisaki- I head cannon him as a trans guy (though I also enjoy the nonbinary Chihiro head canon), and let me explain before anyone gets mad at me (I know a lot of people hold the “Chihiro is a trans girl” head canon close, but I’d like to be heard out). His arc is extremely trans coded, it’s true. But a lot of people assume that because he wears dresses that it means he’s a girl. From my point of view, though, the way he dresses and the way his situation is described seems like when a trans guy is forced back in the closet after trying to come out (he’s deemed not masculine enough to be a “real boy” by his peers, so he retreats into hyper-femininity like a lot of closeted trans men do). It’s able to be seen that he’s uncomfortable with his situation because he seeks Mondo out thinking that he’s a safe person to come out to and ask for guidance from. Some people might wonder about the end of the investigation with this head canon, and it’s my humble belief that he could’ve worn a packer. No one would know or notice it, and I fully believe his dad was supportive of him, so maybe that was a way for him to be comfortable in a small way. So, that’s why I think Chihiro is a trans guy, not a trans girl. 

Celestia Ludenburg- I head canon her as a trans girl. It’s mostly because she changed her name and doesn’t want to tell anyone her “real name,” because it’s not her “real” name, its her deadname. 

Kiyotaka Ishimaru- I head canon him as a trans guy simply because he’s probably my favorite character from this game.

Makoto Naegi- I head canon him as nonbinary and trans masculine, but would probably feel comfortable with any pronouns. This is another one where it’s not because I feel like there’s reasons ingrained in his story, it’s just because of the vibes I get. 

Super Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair

Fuyuhiko Kuzuryu- I head canon him as a trans guy because he’s so short and angry. As a short and angry trans guy, I find him very relatable. 

Peko Pekoyama- This will probably sound stupid, but it’s because I fully believe that Peko and Fuyuhiko are T4T. She is a trans girl. 

Hajime Hinata- I head canon him as a trans guy. He mentions discomfort while showering when you click on the bathroom in his cottage, he doesn’t want to swim with other people, and Mahiru has to ask him if he’s a boy. I just think it makes sense. 

Ibuki Mioda- Ibuki talks a lot about being lonely in her FTE, not just when she was a kid, but also while she was in her girl group. I head canon that this is because she and the other girls had a hard time relating to each other because Ibuki is a trans girl. I worry that maybe she left the group less for artistic differences and more because she didn’t feel that she fit in with them. 

Ultimate Imposter- Because the Imposter can perfectly impersonate anyone, I like to believe that they are genderfluid and feel comfortable presenting as any gender. 

Chiaki Nanami- This is definitely biased, because I relate Chiaki in my head so much to my partner, but I fully believe that Chiaki is nonbinary and uses she/they pronouns. 

Kazuichi Souda- I head canon him as a trans guy. Partly from how he’s drawn in some shots with wider hips and a smaller waist, but mostly because of the drastic appearance change he went through prior to the game. 

Gundham Tanaka- With this one it is yet again less about the story and more about the vibes. I feel like Gundham would use he/they and maybe even neopronouns. He also seems like he would’ve tried binding with ace bandages for the aesthetic, but his mom caught him and bought him a proper binder because there is no way she’d let her son hurt himself like that. 

Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony

Shuichi Saihara- I head canon him as a trans man. It does have mostly to do with how he looks and the fact that I find him relatable. 

Kokichi Ouma- Again, a trans guy. For the exact same reasons as Shuichi. 

Kiibo Idabashi (K1-B0)- Kiibo is a robot. Kiibo says he hasn’t thought about whether or not he’s a boy. I think that Kiibo is nonbinary, and is comfortable with they/he pronouns. 

Tsumugi Shirogane- I head canon her as a trans girl. This is just another example of me liking a character so much that I head canon them as trans. I don’t care what anyone else says, in my brain she is a wonderful trans lesbian who has two very loving girlfriends. 

Himiko Yumeno- I head canon Himiko as a nonbinary lesbian who uses they/she pronouns. It just feels right to me. 

Angie Yonaga- Angie is also a nonbinary lesbian in my mind, using she/they/halo pronouns. 

Ryoma Hoshi- I head canon him as a trans man. He is small and sad. Like me.

✘ The way she tries to screw over Makoto when the game had just begun. Like wait and see what happens before screwing over such a great guy? Leon didn’t deserve it either.

Leon Kuwata

♡ His voice actor (English), and how real and human his execution was in that we all would be so scared and irrational. It was just so iconic and sad as it’s our first introduction to the death in this series and we all think: “shit, this is real... they are really killing these kids.” I didn’t think it would be that brutal, just seeing his body limp at the end with the haunting music.

✘ His design is disgusting. I hate how he looks.

Chihiro Fujisaki

♡ So innocent, so kind, so intelligent

✘ Shouldn’t have been killed for such a stupid reason, also they did Mondo dirty with that motive for killing as well. Just a mess. As for the actual character, Chihiro cries right off the bat when you do your introductions and that was kind of annoying to me personally.

Mondo Oowada

♡ He has a lot of respect, understanding and emotions for someone I thought would be a hard-ass douche biker.

✘ The worst motive to kill ever in a game where you know you’re getting executed if you’re found out. Like you’d be extra careful and that’s his reason to kill? Lazy writing.

Celestia Ludenberg

♡ Bad bitch energy and her goth lolita design.

✘ Manipulation and double murder. Bad bitch energy only goes so far. Confidence is different then selfishness. Also, of all the chapter 3 triple murders... the worst motive to kill.

Kiyotaka Ishimaru

♡ Emotions: secure in his masculinity, able to cry, show emotions, and apologize when he’s wrong. He’s funny and likable.

✘ The Ishimondo white hair thing was stupid. Taka was fine on his own.

Hifumi Yamada

♡ Writing takes talent, fan fiction as much as any other style or genre. Also the talent of his voice actor (who also voices Kiibo/K1-B0).

✘ Literally everything else about him.

Sakura Oogami

♡ I love everything about her. I love her wisdom, loyalty, design, voice etc. Just step on me, mother.

✘ Why the hell would she ever agree to be a spy even if it meant the end of her dojo? I just don’t think she would do that rationally because she isn’t selfish. The others would suffer for her spying. She remedies this with redemption in her letter in chapter 4 but still she should’ve said no off the bat. Everyone had something to lose. The dojo wasn’t worth spying for monokuma. Also I just don’t think she would commit suicide. She can’t help the remaining students survive and redeem herself truly if she’s dead.

Kyoko Kirigiri

♡ Bad bitch energy, calm and collected when I could never be.

✘ Especially in future arc of the anime, damn can you show some emotion please? Through your words and expressions not just your actions. Sure she was willing to “die” for Makoto but like I just want more emotion from her sometimes, even in THH.

♡ So pure. I Love Bryce Papenbrook. Makoto reminds me of Sora and I love his design.

✘ In THH I didn’t mind his innocence but in the Danganronpa 3 future arc anime, when people started straight up abusing him and accusing him, he needed to grow a little backbone.

♡ His love for his family and mother especially is so cute and heart breaking if you know the full story.

✘ He needs to know when to dial it back and quit with the perversions. And no it’s not just how he looks, Miu needs to chill at times, too.

✘ I’m bitter and miserable about her being the only class member to actually die (the despair arc anime) also her falling asleep at random times is kind of odd and she doesn’t seem to be like that later on in the game??? Like it seemed like a cheap joke but not actually who she is? Hard for me to explain.

Gundham Tanaka

♡ King shit, couldn’t praise him enough. He’s sexy, loves animals, and is funny as hell sometimes. His voice actor is a saint and a cool dude and I named my guinea pigs after the Dark Devas (yes I know they are hamsters in the games.)

✘ Come on dude. I get that being from Hell and magic and having evil powers is your shtick, but we all know that you and Nekomaru sacrificed yourselves so the others wouldn’t starve. We know you care about your classmates. There comes a time when it’s time to let personas and facades fade and be true to your heart. I just feel like him denying he cared at the end hurt. We all know he cared. I didn’t like how he was haughty until the end. He deserved better. I love him.

Nagito Komaeda

♡ I love him so much. So cunning and intelligent, always a step ahead. And he’s big sexy.

✘ Him killing himself in chapter 5 hurt me so bad I was like in denial for days. Also hate how Bryce Papenbrook gives him a raspy stoner psycho voice in the game then a light airy higher-pitched voice in the despair arc anime. It just bothers me. I love his voice still but the inconsistency just hurts my OCD

♡ I love that she’s so interested in her passions and love her feelings for Gundham

✘ Her outfit and bow are atrocious. Also why didn’t she start liking and talking to Gundham sooner on? Their romance bloomed late and it would’ve made for a better chapter 4 ending if they were a bit closer.

♡ Cool design and outfit, love his voice (also voices Kaito in V3) and his backstory is relatable at times. He’s also very human in that he’s scared a lot of the time or insecure or blames others in panicked situations. It’s not always a good thing but it’s human and realistic.

✘ Gosh he can be so annoying. Sometimes flirting or whining too much is well... too much.

Akane Owari

♡ Strong-willed and definitely someone I would be friends with

✘ What the hell is her outfit? Gymnasts and athletes don’t wear that shit. Stop objectifying her when it doesn’t even make the product or plot better. Like there’s absolutely no point to making her dress that way. I was a gymnast for 15 years. Even those who do parkour (which Akane seems to do more often than actual gymnastics in the anime and game) don’t wear what she wears. Also she’s underrated.

Fuyuhiko Kuzuryuu

♡ I love him. He’s the DR character I’m most like out of all the games and anime. Tenko is a close second. I think he’s adorable, love his character arc, development, redemption, and love his voice.

✘ In the anime/despair arc, Fuyuhiko is not done justice. He doesn’t get enough lines, has a different voice actor, just doesn’t give off the same vibes.

Izuru Kamakura

♡ Sexy man long hair good.

✘ Boring character. I wish he were just Hajime.

Kaede Akamatsu

♡ Loyalty and leadership are such attractive qualities in her. Also she faced her death with such class and dignity and I respect her because I could never.

✘ Some of the voice lines Erika does for her are just weird and cringe. Just random moans or grunts... I don’t know it’s like when Ann Takamaki from Persona 5 (also voiced by Erika) makes suggestive noises as well. Just grinds my gears. Also hate her outfit down to the hair pins.

♡ I love his nasally voice. I love his design and he’s so adorable. I love how emotional and compassionate he can be. He ties with Makoto for favorite protag of mine.

Also hate that when you first meet him he warns you that he’s killed people and is dangerous to be around. Come on buddy, you know you wouldn’t hurt your friends. Stop pushing them away.

INUMAKI TOGE -> limits his vocab but not his range

inumaki is the master of skillful layering. since he can’t express himself verbally he likes to do so with his outfits instead and let his clothes speak for him! he loves experimenting with colors/patterns and textiles by throwing on a silky button up with a chunky knit sweater or wearing a fuzzy turtleneck under a denim jacket. and even though it’s all completely intentional, it never really appears that way, and that’s exactly how he likes it! usually finishes off his look with a pair of chelsea style boots of some description and maybe a beanie to keep his noggin toasty if it’s chilly or if he just feels more like keeping to himself on a given day. he’s like the unspoken fashionista amongst his peers, and maki, panda, and yuuta are often lying in wait, seeing what outfit he steps out in for the day so they can take notes.

MIWA KASUMI -> these looks were made for chasing a bag, not a man

miwa is an effortlessly chic vision. she embraces a more androgynous style with baggier silhouettes and more traditionally masculine pieces that she spruces up. she’s very much a fan of wearing button up shirts and trousers, but giving them an edgier twist with utility belts or throwing a graphic tee to contrast the more mature nature of her fits. color is also a fun concept that she enjoys experimenting with and will break up the dark or neutral shades of her outfits with bright yellows, greens, blues, or oranges just because she can. it’s her way of commanding the attention she deserves! and as if her look wasn’t elevated enough already, she literally takes it to the next level with platform boots that are 100% made for stompin on cursed spirits (or anyone who decides they need an ass beating) 😤 nobody else knows aside from mechamaru/koukichi, but miwa and noritoshi often end up having photoshoots together to show off their looks since they can vibe with each other’s similar senses of style. koukichi only knows because he’s the one who takes said photos.

KAMO NORITOSHI -> people wear just one shirt? couldn’t be him

noritoshi is another king who values movement without restriction! like inumaki, he also enjoys layering, but often with the same silhouette or style, just a different color. the long sleeve under short sleeve trend? he’s all over it and he can work it! he loves a strong color block and, while he often favors more neutral or muted colors, enjoys tossing a shock of something else into the mix, whether it’s in his base layer, top layer, pants, or shoes. the man is a shoe collector and has a secret stash of high end kicks that only miwa knows about (since she wouldn’t leave him alone after witnessing him meeting up with other sneaker collectors to close a deal), so he has no issue with being a little extra in terms of his footwear--and he will be extra. and if that wasn’t enough he just casually accessorizes with some bling, like a chain bracelet or maybe a single ring since he’s edgy like that. he regrets it though when he suddenly has to use his cursed technique and ends up with that metal to knuckle action. does he stop wearing the ring though? no!

FUSHIGURO MEGUMI -> always cool, never cold

megumi has this power to make any sweater look good (really not surprising given how cute he is), which is great, since they’re about 90% of his wardrobe! like the others, he enjoys an easy, effortless look. the only difference, though, is that his look actually is effortless because he literally doesn’t think about it. he sees a sweater and he wears. he sees comfy silk pants and he wears. he sees shoes that fit his personal aesthetic and don’t hurt his feet and he wears. overall, though, he favors neutral colors and simple silhouettes: a sweater, pants, and running shoes/sneakers are really all he needs to feel complete, as well as a lil crossbody bag or waist pack of some description not because they’re fashionable but because they’re ✨functional✨ of course! he always ends up being the one who carries everyone’s things, especially gojou’s, since he’s basically a child and always needs someone to hold his stuff anyway while he gets into mischief (if nanami’s not there, then the baton is automatically passed to poor gumi), and yuuji and nobara are usually right there with him, so megumi gets stuck with his hands full and his bag overflowing

definitely the use of honorifics! the nis translation removes them which is really sad bc they tell a lot about how the characters feel about each other! ishimaru uses -kun for everyone, which is kinda boyish but respectful! naegi uses -kun/-san bc hes nice, along with saihara and akamatsu.  hinata is just plain rude and uses none of them! i wrote a post abt one of my fav honorific moments here

toukomaru i said up above, but, as for trans girl chihiro. please dont fucking kill me but. it’s not canon. danron 1 was written in 2010 and i doubt kodaka really wanted to make a cool story about a trans character. if chihiro was female, they wouldnt go outta their way and say that they’ve been “lying” to everyone. the game makes it clear they identified as male, and only dressed as a female due to their weak nature. trans people are the gender they say they are, and chihiro never goes and says “im actually a girl,” ya know?

in fics and stuff though? hell fucking yeah. go for it. if you think chihiro is trans go fucking ham but at the end of the day it isnt what kodaka wanted to write, just as much as i think maki is a lesbian and he went and wrote kaitomaki. youre allowed to take fiction and rectify shit you dont like in your art bc sometimes content creators are just bad. go wild
