Mood board for the story I'm working on. Introducing:
Memento Mori
Pairing: Simon “Ghost” Riley x Female Reader
Summary: Simon Riley could never dream of a woman such as you—smart and radiant with a love of art and history—looking back him, mirroring the same longing in his heart. You’re the furthest thing from the battlefield with your job as a conservator at the National Gallery in London, your passion for research, and conviction that art is the most meaningful part of the human existence. He can’t help but be drawn to you, and when you fall into a relationship together, he can’t imagine happiness without you. But loving you is a life he can’t have, so he has to pretend he can have this for as long as he can, until it all falls apart.
Work in progress...

𝐓𝐀𝐊𝐄 𝐌𝐄 𝐓𝐎 𝐂𝐇𝐔𝐑𝐂𝐇!! Ugh, literally— Forgive me Father, for I have sinned.
* SPOILERS FOLLOW*
After seeing so many positive reviews of Priest on my many Facebook Book Clubs, I finally hit the nail and dove straight in. All I can say is with every page, I felt like I needed to dose myself in holy water.
The smutty scenes were smutty and though I understand the concept is sexual desires and encounters with a priest, I could’ve done without tarnishing religious and holy aspect’s. I’m not super religious but defiling holy objects seemed disrespectful. I guess the author hit the nail on that one with this taboo angle.
The plot was good and characters were great but I feel like there were a lot of gaps. There needed to be more details as there was a lack of development (Father Bell’s sister, his dire reassigning for priest-hood, Poppy’s stripping and livelihood, their relationship etc.).
I would’ve loved to see the relationship between Poppy and Father Bell on a sensual and soft side, not just sexual. Basically I’d like to say Father Bell truly left the Church because he was absolutely in love with a woman, not that he left because he couldn’t stop having sex with her… which was in fact the case. He fell for this woman simply by being seduced and taunted with sex…not because of her personality and the woman she is.

To Sir Phillip With Love. Julia Quinn
It is actually the 2nd time I read it. But I desperately needed a book that I new I would like. You know this feeling when you read a book and something is off: it is not like it is terrible, but it is just … okay. So, it was a first time ever for me rereading. And thaaaank god for that decisions.
My head was consumed with the story (even though I knew the outcome, I still forgot like 80% of everything). And I want to give the proper honours to the author! Julia Quinn is the master of building up tension, storylines. And I just love the character progression with my whole heart. I always thought of this book as a story of contracts (female/masculine perspective, introverted/extroverted sides of Eloise and Philip, growing/exploding, low-emotions/boiling with feelings).
The book:
Honourable mentions, to inner monologues of characters. It allows to connect to the characters on a new level (like you’re under their skin, if it makes sense).
The book:
so thank you JQ for an opportunity to write a longer review (finally), as your books were my gateway books to the genre.
(This book is not even my favourite of JQ, if I get to reread my favourites, the reviews will be in order, dah ). Cannot wait to see depiction of this book, and what they will change and leave to show people.
