for some reason tumblr showed me your "people i saw at red rocks" post today. and i was just thinking back to my shows. i've attended all three canadian shows (my first time seeing louis).

and the diversity at each of these shows was unreal. canada does have a lot of immigrants but concert audiences always look predominantly white. but to see people of all ages, all races, all backgrounds was surreal in the best possible way.

from teenagers to people in their 50s (moms and dads, but also couples head-to-toe in black, covered in tattoos), men, women, non binary people, people of all races and sexualities.

as a lgbtq+ person of color, it felt so safe. i could finally understand what people meant about feeling at home at louis shows. all three shows managed to really surprise me compared to the other canadian concerts i have attended, just in terms of the audiences.

i only saw ltwt through livestreams, and will continue to see the rest of fitfwt through them but this tour decidedly has more "locals" than BMG or even the fans anticipated. and the locals are genuinely interested.

(was helping out the people working on the toronto fan project since they wanted more hands, and had the opportunity to talk to so many people in line / inside the arena and people were so genuinely interested to know more, not just about the project but even about louis or his music in general)

Red Rocks does have its own steady audience, people with subscriptions who go to multiple concerts because they live near Denver. However, these people picked Louis, and even the audience which were not in his usual demographic seemed to be having fun until the storm came.

I had a similar experience in LTWT22: Detroit. I was talking to a couple in their 40’s in line in front of me, and we all recognized a very faint Kill My Mind playing on a distant car radio. They were FANS. Specifically, they were Nirvana fans and Smashing Pumpkins fans and LOUIS TOMLINSON fans (and not Harry Styles fans, as it came to be revealed).

Detroit was my very first LTWT show, and also the first time I met a solo Louie in the wild (hi @comradelouis). You are absolutely right in describing the atmosphere as comforting, welcoming, and safe. As soon as Louis came on stage, all the bad aspects of being in the fandom disappeared, and it was just Louis and us— his songs, his personality. It was an incredibly validating, uplifting, beautiful experience.

(Certain venues have a good aura, and Detroit always has had a good aura for Louis. Canada and Portland too. And Chicago and Ohio, apparently!)

I’m really glad fans like you are in the fandom. Love hearing about these experiences. Thank you.

it was Detroit Nashville and Portland with shorts !! ngl I kinda went with how hot he looked more than the ~fashion~ level lmao but I did really like that Nashville shirt and the brand was cool too ! and the general vibe of the fit! Detroit was the hottest fit of the us leg idk why I just loved it so much ! also it was the first time he came down to the barricade I think!! it was a great show ! and then I HAD to pick the shorts simply bc I want to hope we'll see them again soon <3
