Hello Tumblr! Come listen to me rant about my beta owl au? Ive been working on it in my head for a while. Here's some details on the main cast-

Part one: Hexside Crew

Luz/Lucía Noceda

Now 17 ish, Luz never found the boiling isles as a child. Instead she stayed in Gravesfield, unable to move on from her father's death. Her mother has been able to move on though, leaving Luz very uncomfortable with her mother's new boyfriend, as well as her own much younger step-brother-to-be. But the boiling isles are still coming for her- and a lot sooner than she could ever expect.

Amity/Amelia Blight

With the twins now outcast from the family, Amity is under intense pressure as the last Blight still welcome in the manor. With her parents' pressure for her to join the emperor's coven or the family business, she's begun to absorb a lot of their stiff, perfectionist attitude. She's also been very involved in The Emperor's Coven, tightly knit with her mentor Lilith.

Augustus Porter

Inspired by a couple of other fics I've read, Augustus is an agent of chaos. Actor, shape-shifter, artist and illusionist. They become closely connected to the illusionist graveyard, finding connection to the undead magic and spirits. He also has a very complicated history with Skara, who we will get to after...

Willow Park

She's still best friends with Augustus, of course. She found her own way to the plant track and has given herself a very different reputation over the years. Harder, not taking anyone's shit but still more than willing to kill or die to protect her friends. Assigned male at birth, but with she/her pronouns and some gender fuckery she doesn't feel like she needs to explain to anyone. Her plant magic has become scarily powerful at times, and she has a mysterious ability to cast spells without using a circle....

Skara Dubal

Skara gets a lot more attention in this AU, just for being one of my favorite little blorbos lol. She's about 17 like the rest of the cast (though Augustus is still a year younger.) She's a performer, constantly needing all eyes on her as much as possible. She's running around trying to see everything, to know everyone and to do it all at once. Shes trying to find her way through her art and her music, as well as her tumultuous, on/off relationship with Boscha Barron.

Again, shoutout to another au writer for the last name, though I don't remember specifically where I got it :(

One more bonus character under the cut, but he comes with some massive spoilers for the AU. It is....

Hunter Belos

At 18 years old, one year above the rest of the rest of the cast, we now have a very different version of Hunter Belos Whittebane. With mysteriously much longer hair... a mask of a Goldfinch instead of an owl..... and a strange British accent that seems very out of place in the boiling isles.

Hunter is no longer a grimwalker of Caleb's dead brother Philip. Now he's a clone of Philip himself, with Caleb sitting under the throne and name of Emperor Belos.

CAMILA'S LIFE (PART 1)

Camila’s life has changed four times.

Just once, it was for the worst.

The first time, she’s barely able to remember. Around two years old, she arrived in the United States with her mother Lucía; sailed from the Dominican Republic and got dropped on Florida. They moved a lot, and occupied hundreds of motel rooms along the East Coast until her mother could afford a house.

She met Lázaro Noceda, a teen by the time, who wanted to become a firefighter when he grew up. She opted for a safer option, to become a vet. He used to say that the method didn’t matter, just the helping aspect. He asked her out on a date on her fifteenth birthday. She accepted. They got married when she was twenty-two. Luz was born when she was twenty-five. 

Then, her life changed for a second time.    

Lázaro had been working as a firefighter for the Gravesfield Fire Department, barely sustaining injuries. One time he came home with a red mark on his forearm, but nothing else. They joked about it. Naturally, when someone proceeds with caution, nothing bad should happen. But accidents have that particular element of surprise, don’t they? He got a call at midnight. He dressed hurriedly, gave her a kiss and went away. 

That was the last time she saw him. The last words she said to him were “Yo también te quiero.”

Siblings au: The ‘’Isles’’

So, I like to think that (on my own siblings au) everyone lives in the same city, with the sly difference that all the witches, monsters, demons, etc. live like,, underground. 

Kinda like GF, u know? Like, this little town is boring and doesn’t really have much things to do and is small, but in reality the humans that live there are there because of government stuff. Like, for example, Camila accepted living there because someone offer her a house (with water, remodelation and electrity already payed), school for the 3 girls, a new car, and a B I G amount of money as salary and much more. And, sure, her payment wasn’t bad before, but w 3 daughers like it didn’t last long.

So, Camila accepted very easy. She had to sign some stuff of confidenciality and then she had a better job at a hospital in this little town with demons.... Yeah.

Luz was really excited to move to another place because, as in the show, she didn’t have a songle friend so this was the new apportunity she was praying for.

Luna (P!Luz) wasn’t super happy, but anything for her mom.

And Lucía, well,,, she was the big problem. She liked her town. She had friends, gang, boyfriend, and bassically a lot of memories there (specially with her dad, but that’s angst for another time). But then, she broke up with her boyfriend, I’m not sure if it was a minor problem like: You eat my fries, fuck u. Or if it was something more serious like cheating. Anyway, this happened a day before the Nocedas had to move and Luz and Luna are really concerned about why Lucía seems so sad and tired of living... more than usual. (Camila knows what happened, tho)

Getting back to the downground city, the witches/demons there doesn’t like to go up, but sometimes they do, specially the teenagers. Also, like, when someone that’s not supposed to live in there arrives, like, because of roadtrip of because they have a cousin that lives there, all the city knows. Th mayor has to give an announcement of it and the non-humans have to be carefull. 

But then there’s Eda like, F everything and just moves her house in the middle of the forest. Good for her, good for her.

They even have like, they’re own social media and electronic devices (wich eventally the girls get)

 The only buildings that you can use to go up or down are the school, hospital and library.

So, when the girls arrive, and see that d e m o n s and are like, mom wtf???

Camila explained everything about the top secret policys of this place and that, actually, this kind of places exist in all the world. The underground cities are called Isles and have they’re own cultures, believings, government, etc. 

Luz is crazy and super happy  and actually pinches herself from time to time to make sure she's not dreaming.

Luna is s h o o k and first of all tries to meke her own mind clear with the fact that all that she belive is a lie and is having and existencial crisis. Then she arrives to the new house and sees that she’ll have her own room and forgets everything. (Tho, she will definetelly look for mermaids and werewolfs in the close future)

Lucía is depressed and doesn’t even care about that she will live among witches and stuff until two weeks later, when she is over about her ex-boyfriend. And she is like, finding ways to make something explode, but in a witchy way.

If someone had told Amity a while ago that a person could get over emotional over nothing; she wouldn't have believed them.

However now, She stared at the woman sitting across from her. Crying and bawling her eyes out. Out of absolute nowhere when a few minutes ago, Amity was sure they'd been getting along.

The Blight had noticed the brunette sitting alone at the back of the room at the beginning of the statue making masterclass and thought that it was probably a good idea to befriend her.

But now? Said brunette was sniffling and wiping her eyes. Paintbrush with the faint of yellow on its tip clutched tightly, wavering slightly as the woman's hands got shaky.

Was it something she said? Did she do something wrong? Looks like Amity really needed to get her social life checked.

The statue in between them both laid forgotten.

" ‘m sorry," the Latina sniffed out. "It's just the colour." Amity raised an eyebrow at that comment.

The woman in front of her smiled weakly; "Yellow makes me cry."

‘Okay,’ Amity thought to herself. ‘Something is definitely going on with her.’
