Red- Silver’s adopted father, Ash’s birth father and Delia’s husband. Aura Guardian and second in command of the Pokemon G-men. Team is the same as his manga counterpart, Aero is swapped for a Dragonite.

Blue (Male)- Gary’s father, Kanto champion. Head of the police force. Team is the same in his manga counterpart.

Green (Female)- Leaf’s mother, a spy and information gatherer for Red and Blue. Team is the same as her manga counterpart.

Yellow- Delia’s sister making her Ash and Silver’s aunt and a traveling nurse, using her Psychic powers for healing. Her team is almost the same. Eevee, Chansey, Bellossom and Slowking replace her Raticate, Dodrio, Omastar and Pikachu.

Gold- Jimmy’s father, was going to be Johto’s champion but Silver had beaten him. His team is the same, only difference is his Pichu was never caught so his Mantine stayed on his team.

Silver- Ash’s older brother and current Johto champion. Only Weavile, Honchkrow and Feraligatr are the same as his manga counterpart. 

Crystal- Marina’s and Lyra’s mother, still catching Pokemon. Her team is the same as her manga counterpart.

Brenden- May’s cousin.

Ruby- Brendan’s father and May’s uncle. Pokestylist. Team is the same as his manga counterpart.

Sapphire- Brendan’s mother and May’s aunt. A frontier brain for Hoenn. Team is the same as her manga counterpart.

Emerald- Friend of the Maple family.

Riley- Ash and Silver’s uncle, Red’s younger brother. Aura Guardian.

Lucas- Dawn’s childhood friend. Chose Turtwig as his starter.

Platinum- Dawn’s older sister, team is the same in the manga.

Diamond- Lucas’ older brother. No family relation to Dawn. Has a crush on Platinum. Team is the same in the manga.

Pearl- Barry’s older brother. Best friends with Platinum and Diamond. Team is the same in the manga.

Black- Unova champion, mentor to Blake. Team is the same in the manga.

White- Owner of Pokestar studios and the BW Agency, mentor to Whitley. Team is the same in the manga.

Blake- A normal trainer, student to Black. Started with Tepig.

Whitley- An aspiring actress, student to White. Started with Snivy.

X- Serena’s cousin. Mega Evolution successor and Elite Four member after Malva was gone. Picked Froakie instead of Chespin, other team members are the same in the manga.

Y- Serena’s older sister. Sky trainer and Mega Evolution successor. Picked Fennekin instead of Froakie, still has her Absol, Fletchinder and Sylveon. Other team members include a Butterfree and a Altaria.

Shauna- Same role as her anime counterpart.

Tierno- Same role as his anime counterpart.

Trevor- A mix of his anime and manga counterpart.

Sun- Originally from Kalos, wants to be a Sky trainer. Friend of the Next gen kids. Started with a Starly, now a Staravia.

Moon- Originally from from Johto, is training to be a nurse. Friend of the Next gen kids. Started with a Hoppip, now a Skiploom. 

Hau- Born and raised in Alola. Friend of the Next gen kids. Started with a Munchlax.

Gladion- Ran away from the Aether Foundation after what happened with Lillie, stays with her. Friend of the Next gen kids. Started with an Eevee, now an Umbreon.

Lillie- Stayed in the mansion estate with her butler, servants and Gladion after what happened in the Aether Foundation. Friend of the Next gen kids and is Ashley’s self proclaimed student. Started with an Eevee, currently still an Eevee.

Kiawe- Trial captain, helps his family on the farm. Best friends with Lana, Mallow and Sophocles.

Lana- Trial captain, skilled fisher. Best friends with Kiawe, Mallow and Sophocles.

Winners announced for the 2019 Eisner Awards

The winners were announced last night for the 2019 Will Eisner Comic Industry Awards.

Tom King and Mitch Gerads, partners on the Mister Miracle series from DC, took home five awards between them. John Allison’s Giant Days and The Prince and the Dressmaker by Jen Wang also took home multiple awards.

The Eisner Awards also inducted 10 people into the Hall of Fame last night: the judges chose Jim Aparo, June Tarpé Mills, Dave Stevens and Morrie Turner, while voters chose José Luis García-López, Jenette Kahn, Paul Levitz, Wendy and Richard Pini, and Bill Sienkiewicz to join the class of 2019.

Other awards given out last night included the The Bill Finger Excellence In Comic Book Writing Award, which was presented to Mike Friedrich and the late E. Nelson Bridwell, and the Russ Manning Most Promising Newcomer Award, which went to Lorena Alvarez.

The 2019 recipients of the Bob Clampett Humanitarian Award were Edgardo Miranda-Rodriguez, for his work on Ricanstruction: Reminiscing & Rebuilding Puerto Rico, and comic artist Tula Lotay, AKA Lisa Wood, for creating the UK-based Thought Bubble Festival. And La Revisteria Comics in Argentina won the Will Eisner Spirit of Comics Retailer Award.

2019 Eisner Award nominees announced

The nominees for the 2019 Will Eisner Comic Industry Awards have been announced by Comic-Con International. Image Comics received the most nominations with 19, while DC Comics received 17 nominations (not including the “shared” categories, like colorists who work for multiple companies).

On the creator end, Tom King received the most nominations with six, followed by Alex de Campi and Jeff Lemire with four. Also, if you’re of the betting persuasion, here’s a tip: put your money on an Image series walking away with the Best New Series Eisner.

The announcement follows the list of nominees for the Will Eisner Hall of Fame, which was released in January. The awards will be announced in July at Comic-Con International in San Diego. Check out the complete list of nominees below.
