During the Nintendo Space World 2000 presentation, an extremely brief clip of a pre-release version of Luigi's Mansion was shown, featuring three ghosts playing cards. These ghosts are completely absent from the finished game aside from a nearly unrecognizably small texture of this scene being used on the Ghost Portrificationizer.

For over two decades, the only footage of these ghosts has been low-quality video recorded by a handheld camera from one of the attendees. In 2024, a high-quality version of the footage surfaced, allowing a more detailed look at the ghosts for the first time.

In Luigi's Mansion, it is possible for Luigi to very briefly suck up a door. In Chauncey's room, if Luigi is caught between the chest and the wall in the manner depicted (by positioning himself there before the chest spawns) and then sucks up a ball, he can clip out of bounds into a different room, during which the ball will briefly turn into a door before disappearing.
