My favourite part of lumax is when max is talking about fighting vecna she talks about 'hiding in the light', a lot of those memories being with lucas.

Meaning max is literally hiding in the light, because Lucas's name means light!!

No matter how much there is a parallel between max and will, there are too many. They really are so similar, although they interacted so little, and the two of them have a connection with Vecna. Two lovers, one is in the hospital, the other looks after him, lumax and byler have similar dynamics.

Lucas’ book gave me so much more insight on his relationship with Max.

How he felt lost and was found when he met her. How he loves her beyond a relationship with her, just as friends—as best friends.

How he tries to understand, to compromise with her and to approach her from different points of view. It’s beautiful and it’s heartbreaking that he tried to be her north star just as she is to him and couldn’t by the end; for all circumstances went against him and he fought to try and keep her alive. I really need to see Max back again. I need to Lucas to have her back. I need them both to be happy.
