I'm not sure how much other people will agree with me but. It's personal gripes I guess.

I know I'm not alone in expecting syndra was going to be the 1820.

Nami is good, and nami deserves good skins. I think the tentacles could use a little more work. I think if they were going to go with a sea witch or sea coven, it could have been an off but connected by universe skin line. Elderwood, Lunar/Solar Eclipse, and Old God are all connected to the Coven skin line.

I was sputtering at the idea that MORDE would be Nami's leviathan old god- BELVETH is right there and fit the shape of the god in the video. Velkoz is right there. If they wanted a suit of armor character, NAUTILUS. but after seeing the actual preview it seems like (as is with the other 1820s) the god isn't included as a champion skin.

I really don't think Akali fit this skin line at all. Nilah fits under the pretense of sea witches, or if they were to turn her whip into brambles etc. Elise's color scheme feels kinda off to me.

It really feels like this years skin lines have been picking a few champions that fit, a few champions that need skins and they don't know what to do with, and filling it with champions that will sell. It leaves me wondering why some champions were entirely overlooked for skin sets- even with the knowledge of what they said before on how they decide who gets put into skin sets and how and why they pick what skin line and what tier skin.

It could be reasoned they thought syndra's voice lines and aesthetic fit too much to make her the 1820.

But then looking at the illusion skin set. Renata and Draven's last skins were Halloween themed skin sets. Viego was in Soul Fighter so sure he was overlooked, but then Milio, the character everyone was making Coco/Encanto/General Disney Spanish jokes about, wasn't included...?

The 1820 Soraka skin, when she has a Variant 1820. Zeri being in the Immortal Journey skin line at all was off- street demon was right after and far more fitting.

I could go on and on. Obviously its all personal opinion, but thats a good part of what this blog has always been.
