Fic recs - boy do I ever. I will say, I have super varied tastes in fics, I’ll read just about anything Gen that’s Jason-centric, plus a few Jason ships (although I’m pretty picky about what actually makes it into my bookmarks). All of the fics I’m rec’ing below are Gen, although some might have flavors of a relationship (likely JayRoy since that’s my preferred pairing). in a somewhat similar vein, a oneshot set during tim’s robin era in which tim hitchhikes to blüdhaven after a fight with his dad. dick and tim are two people who technically aren’t brothers yet by law but already are at heart, which doesn’t make it any easier to navigate conversations about tim’s home life or either of their relationship with bruce. (they make it work, though.)

To be invincible, powerful, unstoppable, gone, the world smeared brilliant green, and then to collapse back into the dingy world of his body to pick up the pieces of whatever had been broken in his absence. How it made him feel sick and turned inside out and confused. He still had the power, that twitchy, unstoppable might, but it was fading fast. What had he done while away?

Every breath hurt as it sucked through his teeth and past those raw muscles. He swallowed, convulsively, with no spit to wet his dry mouth. His hands spasmed, full. Jason blinked again.

Wide blue eyes stared back.

“It’s okay.” The words were whisper-thin, wheezed past the grip Jason had on Tim’s neck. He could feel Tim’s Adam’s apple move as he struggled to swallow, to breathe. “He won’t hurt me.”

It felt like Tim had said those words before, flung out like his arm at the rest of the family surrounding them, all frozen in tableau like hostages in an armed standoff. Or maybe they were innocent onlookers; Tim the hostage; Jason the gun, the bomb.

I love this pairing with my entire heart and they're so good in here, really, so amazing. Mostly Hal's pov. I love this author and this might be one of my favorite works of them. This is just beautiful.

Relax, Clark, you're only getting married, by truc: oneshot, clarks pov, super fun to read. Honestly, I recommend the entire series

When, on the eve of his marriage to Lois Lane, Clark gets serious pre-wedding jitters, he calls his best- worst- man to help him deal with it. Bruce, in all of his pink and gray Barbie sleepwear glory, offers knockout drugs, unsolicited wedding rants/advices and a video gaming opportunity. Getting It Right, by FabulaRasa: batlantern/greenbat (?), Hal's pov, some really good slow burn but like, not too slow, and seriously, don't get too caught up on the sinopses, it's not nearly as dark as it seems, it's actually quite lighthearted and with some family feels too

Jordan wasn’t just laughing, he was doubled over with it, his grin wide. “You’re so mad,” he managed, through gusts of laughter. “You are—you are genuinely so mad, look at you. I was just kidding, your score was higher, but I just wanted to see you lose your shit, and you did, oh my God are you in fourth grade or what?” And he threw his head back and laughed even louder. Bruce gave him a shove off the railing, and he just laughed harder.

Article 120, by FabulaRasa: I wasn't expecting this one to be one of my favorite batlantern fics i've ever read, not given the dark subject, but god, they are so good in here.

Hal has a chronical illness but is not dying. I recommend strongly that you read the whole series
