do you think ghosts kid would find out about task force 141? bcs if they do, would they refer to his teammates as "uncle soap", "uncle gaz", etc?

for the sake of this headcanon, i want to say yes! he’d likely keep the specifics away from them until they’re a bit older to understand what he’s doing and why he’s doing it.

but on a lighter note, i know that they’d definitely have a loving circle of protective uncles! (which they definitely do call their uncles: uncle soap, uncle gaz, uncle price,, kinda feel like they might’ve called price “uncle captain” at one point because everyone refers to him as “captain price”) soap and gaz definitely seem more like the type to be good with kids and i can just imagine: soap and gaz are like, ghost’s partner brought the kid??? where’s my little best friend?? the two of them definitely have tea parties with them and such (if they’re in to that) and coax simon in to participation. (“come on, dad!” “yeah dad. come on.” - soap and “you heard the kid.” - gaz) another thing i’m thinking of is gaz wearing a little plastic tiara with pink fuzz on top of his hat and soap has a little sash that’s entirely too small for him that reads “princess” in a sparkly pink font. i can also imagine ghost’s kid running around, shooting everyone with a nerf gun and initially they’re all like “???” until soap decides to play along and he’s all like, “oh, i’ve been hit! so cold, so dark, blegh” in which gaz, and price will also play along to the best of their ability. ghost is the final boss but the moment they get to him, he’s scooping them up and holding them out by under their arms, “mission failed, little one.”

I LOVE DAD! GHOST SM T_T also how do u think ghost'd react after his child say "I wanna be like you when I grow up!" right after meeting his comrades n stuff... bros gonna be too stunned to speak

i feel like he’d be a mixture of proud but also disappointment (not towards his kid, not at all— mostly just towards himself). but this just takes me back to the conversation him and soap had— albeit soap was joking but ghost’s response AAAA

i feel like ghost’s kid sees him as their own personal superhero; he’s strong, he’s immovable, and protects people. he’s their protector, too. (even if he can’t always be there.) he makes them feel safe. they want to be able to make people feel that way too.

it makes his mouth go dry and his eyes widen just a bit; he not quite sure what to say to them. he’s honored, really, he just has these persisting thoughts about everything he’s done in his life leading up this moment. he was a killer; he’s got enough blood on his hands to put a butcher to shame. he was not the hero they thought him to be and it was crushing. he just feels as if they should strive to be better

i don’t think he’d say anything about that though because i feel like “you should be better than me” might cause a “???” reaction and then they’d probably ask him why and that’s just a whole other can of worms he really doesn’t want to open at that time because how exactly do you tell your kid that you’ve killed more people than you’ve loved??

i'm gonna be completely honest, i feel like ghost is one of those people that's actually kind of good at math but actually fucking despises it LMAOO

but i can totally see the two of them sitting at the dinner table just kind of staring at one another. he's got a pencil in his hand, idly tapping it against the surface of the table. initially, i feel he'd go over their homework with them and such; he wants them to be able to work it out on their own- they should be able to, since he won't always be there to do their work for them. but like, he's just suppressing the urge to do their homework for them because 1) they're both tired of these goddamn equations and 2) fuck math

(honestly, they could probably just slide their homework his way and he'd just fill it out for them and then slide it back)

ahhh i loved the apprentice!reader headcanons so much! made me think about how badly i’m sure the reader wants to make simon proud and prove themselves a valued part of the team, so when that inevitable injury happens in the line of duty, they try and hide it or wave it off. they just don’t want to be seen as the weak link.

but i imagine apprentice! reader wants to so desperately be seen as someone worth having around and not just another body to add to the pile because someone took a chance with them the moment they showed promise.

aside from that, i feel like it’s a bit hard to hide such things from simon; he’ll notice the slight limp in their gait, the way they subtly clutch their side, or the dark patches of blood seeping through their vest/clothes. i imagine simon is a mixture of frustration and disappointment; wounds left untreated could be detrimental and often times may lead to an untimely end of your career. apprentice! reader is showing promise; they’ve got the finesse and the skill to go far. he doesn’t want that to end because they thought they could tough out a gunshot wound or stab wound.

i’m just thinking of the two of them sitting on the helo after exfil, simon begrudgingly tugging them forward by the sides of their vest. he’s quiet, but abnormally so. on his lap is the first aid kit they keep on hand and he’s rummaging for a few seconds until he finds everything that he needs. he’ll patch and wrap their wounds just this once but all the while he’s got this look in his eyes and you can just tell by the way he pulls the wrap a bit too tight that he’s holding back from saying something. (disappointed dad moment) the moment they go to say something though, he cuts them off with a firm, “cut the ‘man of steel’ shit. you could’ve gotten yourself killed.”

Just had the thought of ghost’s kid on Halloween dressing up as their dad and convincing/using puppy eyes to get 141 to help them scope out the neighborhood’s with the best candy. They also might be going as their dad for cuteness points as to butter up the team a bit lol

miniature ghost sounds absolutely adorable?? i can imagine that they either a) made their own mask out of like, a paper plate (this would be more so about the faceplate than the balaclava) or something 😭 or b) managed to convince ghost to let them borrow one of his balaclavas

i also can’t help but imagine if they get tired of walking after trick or treating for a few hours, ghost hoists them up on to his shoulders and let’s them sit up there a bit until they get restless and decide they want back down or they want to go home. maybe he’ll just pick them up and let them rest their head on his chest until they fall asleep. (and if they’re sad that they missed out on the rest of the night, the guys’ll go out and buy a bag of assorted candies as a treat)
