i’m gonna be honest with y’all. the original intention i had of banking the reviews i made all year was to be all grinch like and declare how much i hate christmas each day. but since the occupation decided to bomb fucking bethlehem on the first day of christmas that feels too poor of taste a thing to do. but i’m not waiting for next year to do this because i don’t want the obligation to be on tumblr for a whole ‘nother year hanging over my head. so y’all will have to make do with my dumb reviews without me bitching and moaning throughout the 12 days of christmas about how much i hate christmas and consumerism and christianity in general and christmas music and christmas cookies and that one gif that always goes around tumblr of a kitten whose tail has been turned into a christmas tree. and on that note:

Today’s feature is none other than 1993’s Dragon Half, a two episode OVA that is as skanky as it is hilarious. It’s sad that it’s only 2 episodes long since it’s funny as hell but it makes up for it by being so jammed packed full of jokes that you have to pause it to laugh so you don’t miss the next gag. It’s also so jammed packed with jokes that’s it’s honestly exhausting, so it still feels like binging a 26 episode series by the end of it.

The main conflict in the show is that main character Mink, the half dragon half human for whom the title refers to, is obsessed with Dick Saucer, a teenaged heartthrob/singer/celebrity/dragon slayer. Now you’d think that she could have reasonably picked any other teenaged celebrity to obsess over, except all her friends are also obsessed with Dick Saucer so clearly he is just that cool and her dad (the human parent) is a retired dragon slayer, so the whole dragon slayer wanting to kill dragons thing isn’t that much of an issue. For her anyway.

The first episode is mainly exposition for who all the characters are and how they relate to each other, but it also kind feels like watching a forbidden episode of the Kirby anime where Kirby, the King’s assistant snail thing, and metaknight have all been transformed into teenagers with metaknight being the only boy. it’s a bunch of wacky characters doing wacky things in a dungeons and dragons medieval fantasy backdrop.

the second episode is like the dark tournament arc from yu yu hakusho but jokes.

mink shows an impressive amount of skin, as does her best friend (can’t remember her name. the blonde one.) (and the villain teen girl) (and the villain teen girl’s dead mom in a flashback) but the younger girl character does not! it’s honestly sad that this is so noteworthy but the loli character is covered head to toe and the one instance of another character being a bit of a skeeze toward her is met with an angry bear. the series even draws attention to it during the swimming scene. the little girl does not wear a swim suit. so mink might have madonna style boob cones that bounce all over the place but the elementary school girl is a line too far for the creators of this show and i respect that. that’s a line that anime crosses way too often i mean even fucking naruto cannonically shows sakura thinking about sasuke’s penis when the two of them are 12. plus konohamaru doing the sexy no jutsu when he’s like 8. naruto sexualizes pre teen children more than the skanky OVA one where three teenaged girls run around in their 1980s jazzercise leotards that let the whole leg hang out in a way that it might as well be panties. like holy hell japan. anyway. mink does flash the audience in the finale so do yourself a favor and just don’t watch the last few minutes.

also the ending song is fun.

also! even thought there’s a lot of scantily clad teenaged girls i didn’t get the feeling that the writers wanted the audience to be fapping to them. maybe it’s just a sign of the times thing and it was sexy back then, but the show changes art style from sexy teenaged girl to SD rolling on the ground so much that if the characters were supposed to be fap material then the delivery was a complete bust.

My Headcanon!⚠️

For those who still think that Sonic was never attracted to humans, that the creators never wanted humans with him, or think it's zoophilia/bestality.

(I know Lah and Helen doesn't count because it's platonic of Lah's part, and Helen for being just a friend for Sonic. But I could see the intention of having created them, and people ship them.)

Sonic Team lost hope of making some human for Sonic after suffering a lot of hate from Sonamy/Sonally fans (most are fanbrats).

And so they share for mandates, merch and jokes with all ships, to avoid useless fights.

But there's still something about Sonic Frontiers, where there's supposed to be a ghost girl/A.I with human appearance, who are also supposed to have some bond or a passion for our dear hero.

Even having some "evidences", and we saw that Amy's voice appears to trick Sonic or being herself somehow warning where his friends are trapped (and probably the voices of others will appear too), fanbrats are already stating and believing and saying IT'S CANON that for some reason, this would be a reason to ship or something, even believing in Amy's idiocy to have "died" and turned into some kind of "ghost"?

For love! Shippers are getting more and more crazy and desperate for their dear 12 year old pink hedgehog who was an annoying fanbrat just like most of them and that her personality was totally butchered and turned into a Mary-Sue/Sally Acorn stay with our dear blue hedgehog who is not shy, a very arrogant hero, is a romantist and adventurer who looks like he prefers human/humanoid girls and was never in love with her in the canon stories.

This is my opinion and HEADCANON, if you disagree and want to talk in peace and comment your headcanon, feel free!

Now if you're a Sonamy/Sonally shipper (fanbrat) or whatever, who wants to argue, believe your headcanons putting it's official, wanting to think you know more than SEGA itself, get out and just ignore or block me. RATING EVERY SONIC FROM THE SONIC MULTIVERSE

How much of a good boy they are? All of this in this thread.

Disclaimer: Of course, this is my opinion. You might feel different. You’re welcome to disagree!

(MAIN UNIVERSE - Universe 1991)

The Sonic from the games, a true good boy. He does things on his way, his own way, he aims to do what he believes is right, hates injustice. He cherishes his freedom above everything.

He loves to explore the world, always running around. Doesn’t have a house.

Doesn’t like to see tears. He also likes to crack some jokes to have fun with his friends. Is a hedgehog of action, usually doesn’t think twice before taking action.

Also has not shown much interest in doing romance.

10/10, this is my favorite Sonic

(UNIVERSE 1991A - 1991 Promotional Manga)

This Sonic is the vocalist of his world’s most famous band, and also has cool sharp fangs. A lot of human girls have a crush on him.There are certain rumors circulating around that he might be dating a human girl named Madonna... could it be true?

He is also a good boy, takes action when he sees others in danger, and is also determined to fight against injustice.

9/10

(UNIVERSE 1991B - American Sonic)

Originally brown, Sonic was a great friend of Dr. Ovi Kintobor, a good human scientist. Kintobor studied the Chaos Emeralds with the intention to get Mobius rid of all evil.

Kintobor gives Sonic cool new red sneakers as a gift, and after getting involved in an accident on one of Doctor’s inventions, Sonic turns blue. Eventually Sonic and Kintobor become enemies after the Doctor trips and breaks the machine that stored the Chaos Emeralds, becoming Robotnik.

A good boy, a dude with atitude, also way past cool, and full of 90s charm.

(UNIVERSE 1992 - Sonic the Hedgehog Manga)

Nicky is a shy boy, he has a younger sister, his father is a pilot, and his mom is a housewife. Nicky is a nerd dedicated to math and all kind of things related to it. He’s very coward and shy, and has a huge crush on Amy Rose.

But, when there’s danger on the horizon, Nicky’s second personality shows up! It’s Sonic, a way more brave dude, and with no reason to be shy! Sonic always fights against the tirany of the evil Dr. Eggman! After his duty of saving people is done, he turns back into Nicky.

Nicky does not have memories of what he did as Sonic, but Sonic retains the memories of what he does as Nicky. Nicky is a VERY good boy, a nerd, awkward and shy, I love him a lot 10/10

(UNIVERSE 1993 - ARCHIE’S SONIC/PRE-SGW) This Sonic is also a good boy. But, differently from the Sonic from the 1991 Universe, this Sonic is more “domestic”.

He has a place where he lives regularly, being it New Mobotropolis. He also has a father, mother, uncle and even a pet dog. This Sonic also does have some interest in dating/romance, having relationships with some girls in the past. But his main love is Sally, someone who he knows since he was a child. Currently dating Sally Acorn. But even with all of those differences, he still has a big sense of justice, always fighting agains Dr. Robotnik’s tirany and also Dr. Eggman’s. Just like some other Sonics, he sometimes allows his emotions to take over, which sometimes makes him do some unfortunate choices, but he eventually sees how he messed up and tries to do his best to fix things. This Sonic also has a certain ego, but he grows and learns as a person more and more as time passes. 9/10, a good boy

(UNIVERSE 1993B - SONIC THE COMIC)

This Sonic at first can see to be a little hard to approach. He has an even bigger ego than the other Sonics, and can say some things that can hurt his friend’s feelings.

But inside he is extremly unsure about himself, and tries to play “tough” in front of others to hide it. He also has shown some difficulty in reading other people’s emotions, which has put him in some complicated situations in the past.

He’s been trying to improve and be more friendly and approachable with others after being yelled at by Tails and Amy.

He has the same origins as American Sonic, being born brown and a friend of Kintobor. This Sonic was wrongly acused of crimes through an out of context video that was shown for all of Mobius to see. He’s been trying to regain people’s trust and show how much he has improved since.

His Super Sonic is an evil entity that has intentions of hurting all of those that Sonic cares about.

He is trying his best, 8/10

(UNIVERSE 1993C - AOSTH)

This Sonic is also a good boy. He’s an excelent older brother for Tails, that in this universe is only 4 and a half years old. Sonic always tries to be an exemplary figure for Tails.

He has atitude, likes to play and mess around, and lives running around Mobius. Just like Main Sonic, he also doesn’t have a house. He lives fighting all injustice wherever he goes through.

But, he can be a little bit of a womanizer, always getting himself a little carried away with the girls he crosses path with in his adventures. A cool dude, 9/10

(UNIVERSE 1993D - Sonic SatAM)

Blue streak. Speeds by, Sonic the Hedgehog. 

He’s a cool dude to talk and hang out with, he’s very chill. He can be a little bit of an airhead and is not very bright-- but in compensation he has a heart of gold, caring a lot about his friends and family. 

He also fights to have his Uncle Chuck back. Just like Archie Sonic, he also has a home. In this case being Knothole. But, now with Robotnik defeated, it’s maybe time to bring Mobotropolis back to its’ glory days.

He also has a big ego, and can be a little bit full of himself. But Sally keeps this side of him in check.

He dates Sally, that acts as Sonic’s conscience a lot of times.

A good boy, look out, when he storms through. He’s the fastest thing alive. 9/10.

(UNIVERSE 1994 - SONIC ADVENTURES)

This Sonic, just like Game Sonic, is full of attitude, brave, and fights against all kinds of evil he finds in his way.

He also becomes friend with an Echidna Lady. He has a thing going on with Amy Rose. He also has a cool mohawk.

(UNIVERSE 1996 - SONIC THE HEDGEHOG: THE MOVIE OVA)

This Sonic at first can seem a little bit arrogant, but inside he hides a huge heart full of compassion. He lives on a plane that crashed on South Island a long time ago, possibly the coolest house any Sonic has ever had.

Tails is his best friend, and lives together with him. Both usually either relax on the beach or go on adventures to fight against Dr. Eggman.

A very carefree Sonic, that takes action, and very rebellious.

10/10, an absolute good boy

(UNIVERSE 1997 - SONIC: MAN OF THE YEAR)

A Sonic that clearly fights against Eggman’s evil schemes for a long time. Was chosen as the Man of the year, even though he’s clearly a hedgehog.

Eggman ruins his image when disguises as him. I hope he got it back together, since we never got a continuation to this.

Just looking at him, you can tell he’s full of charm and has that Animaniacs flair in his animation, just from this alone I give him a 9/10

(UNIVERSE 1996B - SONIC THE HEDGEHOG: WONDERS OF THE WORLD)

This Sonic, unlike others, is a fictional character even in his own universe. He ends up going to the real world through an invention done by Josh’s dad. Josh is a real world kid that becomes Sonic’s friend.

This Sonic is a good boy, he believes that the powers of the Chaos Emeralds shouldn’t be used so carelessy, and helps Josh fights against his insecurities, while at the same time he saves his world from the evil Dr. Robotnik, that also ran away from the videogame world.

(UNIVERSE 1999 - SONIC UNDERGROUND)

He swore his mother will be found. He was raised by Uncle Chuck. He also wants to save Mobotropolis. He’s also a prince, being the son of Mobotropolis’ original Queen, Aleena.

He has two siblings, Manic and Sonia, and while they ocasionally fight between themselves, they care a lot about each other.

He also plays musical instruments, he can invoke a guitar through his necklace. Playing music somehow solves his problems.

7.5/10, a good boy

(UNIVERSE 2003 - SONIC X)

One of my favorite Sonics. This Sonic is more calm and reserved. Loves to take naps. He is usually more reserved about his emotions, and hates to show emotional weaknesses in front of others.

He likes to read, hates injustice, and likes to pass most of his time alone. But he is shown sometimes to have a romantic interest in Amy Rose.

Extremely helpful, always tries to do his best to make his friends happy. Ditches a meeting with the president to make his friend happy.

An EXTREMELY good boy, 10/10 for him 

(UNIVERSE 2003B - SONIC: DASH & SPIN)

This Sonic is probably one of the zaniest Sonics there is, he’s pretty up there with AoStH Sonic. He fights against Eggman’s evil plots, that in this universe can go from stealing a bank to using Sonic’s flu to cover the world with his snot (I’m serious).

He also can count with his friends for help, is full of attitude, nothing will stop him. He likes snowboarding.

7/10. 

(UNIVERSE 2013 - ARCHIE SONIC POST-SGW)

This Sonic resembles Game Sonic in a lot of ways, but he is also part of the Freedom Fighters. But he also likes to have his own adventures across his world.

This Sonic, diferent from his other Archie version, isn’t much interested in dating.

He cares a lot about his friends, but he don’t want them to worry a lot about him, usually hiding any signs of weakness.

In general, a good boy, and an excelent friend you can trust.

10/10

(UNIVERSE 2014 - SONIC BOOM)

This Sonic, like Archie’s Pre-SGW Sonic, is also very domestic. He has a house, lives in a calm island, and just likes to have fun with his friends, specially Knuckles and Tails.

He has a huge crush on Amy Rose, and there are a lot of signs pointing that they are boyfriend and girlfriend.

He likes to constantly foil Eggman’s schemes, saving the Bygone Island a LOT of times.

He can lose his patience sometimes due to dumb stuff said or done by his friends or townsfolk; or also with the surreal situations he gets involved.

(UNIVERSE 2011 - CLASSIC SONIC’S DIMENSION)

After the events of Sonic Generations, the timeline has split in two, thanks to alterations done to the past. Because of this, we’re having brand new adventures with Classic Sonic.

He’s also a good boy, fights against all kind of evil he faces against, and cares a lot about his friends. Doesn’t talk much, prefering to keep quiet during most of his adventures. 10/10, a cute mute wholesome boy

(UNIVERSE 2018 - IDW'S SONIC THE HEDGEHOG)

Passing in an universe after the events of Sonic Forces, IDW’s Sonic is, in a lot of ways, the Sonic from the games.

He has no fixed place to live in, always running around, making this his own way. Is constantly fighting against Dr. Eggman.

He usually believes that everyone can get redeemed or improve. This sometimes can come back to bite him in the ass, though.

A good boy, 9/10. Give him some rest, let him sleep

(UNIVERSE 2020 - THE SONIC MOVIE)

This Sonic found himself on Earth after running away from his home planet. He becomes best friends with the Sheriff of the city of Green Hills. He ends up being adopted by him. Tom is now his dad.

He is super hyperactive, full of energy and can get easily distracted. He is a Sonic that doesn’t have much of a notion on how big the world can be. Some times can feel very lonely. Unlike some other Sonics, he seeks affection and interaction with others, doesn’t like being alone.

An absolute good boy, I LOVE HIM A LOT, 10/10

(UNIVERSE ZERO - ZONIC THE ZONE COP)

Zonic is responsible for patroling the Sonic Multiverse, checking if everything is in order. He takes his profession very seriously.

Works for Zobotnik, as much as he believes that Zobotnik shouldn’t be the one protecting the Multiverse prison.

This Sonic is a lot more serious and mature than the others, but he has shown to have a sense of humor to the Sonic from the 1993 Universe.

8/10. This Sonic isn’t a good boy though, he is a good man.

(ALTERNATE 1993 UNIVERSE - SCOURGE THE HEDGEHOG)

Coming from a mirror dimension from the 1993 Universe, Scourge was born in an extremly peaceful Moebius. His father was a politician loved by all. Scourge felt neglected by him, deciding to become a rebellious punk to tease and provoke his father.

He forms the Supression Squad with Anti-Sally,  Anti-Tails, Anti-Rotor and Anti-Antoine. They decide to commit acts of vandalism and robbery all across Moebius.

Scourge also antagonizes Dr. Kintobor, a benevolent scientist that tries to bring the best for the Planet’s citizens.

Eventually he becomes the King of Moebius, but Sonic managed do defeat him. He plans to have his revenge on Sonic. This one is a bad boy, he’s an asshole Sonic. I kinda like him. 8/10.

(UNIVERSE 1993E - CYBORG SONIC)

In this universe, Robotnik manages to capture the Freedom Fighters, but something goes awry during the roboticization process, and as a result, Sonic and the others ended up as cyborgs.

A lot more stronger than they originally were, the Freedom Fighters decide to end with Robotnik once for all. But, Robotnik roboticizes himself as a last ditch resort, becoming the mighty Robo-Robotnik.

6.5/10, he mostly exists to make The Terminator References

(UNIVERSE 1993F - SONIC BATMAN)

He is the night. He is also the speed. 

8/10.

(UNIVERSE 616 - SONIC WOLVERINE)

An angry Canadian Sonic with claws.

(UNIVERSE 697 - FREEDOM FIGHTERS OF THE GALAXY) This Sonic spent a while in space after some circunstances. Thanks to Einsten’s Law of Relativity, when he returns to Mobius, 2000 years have gone by. This Sonic allies himself with the descendants of the Freedom Dighters, and tries to stop Silver Snively and Robotniklactus’ evil schemes.

He’s kinda lame. A 5/10.

(UNIVERSE 1993FT - Light Mobius)

This Sonic accomplished defeating Robotnik, and with Mobius finally in peace, he married Princess Sally. He grew up, became an adult and had kids.

But he didn’t count with the fact that Robotnik had a Plan B-- the scientist sent his inteligence to a space ship, and from space he sent nukes to Mobius-- killing this version of Sonic in the process. This Robotnik would eventually go to universe 1993 and adopt the name of Eggman.

F to pay respects for this Sonic. F/10.

(UNIVERSE 1993FT2 - MOBIUS X YEARS LATER)

This Sonic went through a lot. After having to rewrite his own timeline to save the universe, he had to win back his friends’ friendship and the love of his life, Sally.He eventually marries Sally, has two kids, and lives happily. Can you believe this Sonic is almost 50 years old? He’s 47 years old!8/10, a good dad

Hot take: I still don’t understand what people’s problem with humans in the Sonic movie when the Sonic series has always had humans. Really from the adventure games onward, we’ve had human or humanoid characters in the games ( Adventure 1&2, Unleashed, ‘06, ShTH, Black Knight, any time G.U.N shows up), in the comics ( Archie), and a tv show (Sonic X). Even in the 90s, we had Madonna (scrapped character), some characters from the tv show (Mama Robotnik, Junior, Katella the Huntress, Dr.Warpnik, Professor Von Schlemmer from AoSTH, Snivley from SatAM) the comics (early Archie, a handful in Fleetway if I remember correctly) and in the OVA (the president and his daughter). I can get if it feels a stereotypical for a kids movie, but it’s not historically any stranger than having the TMNT or Autobots interacting with humans.

Buđenje s osmijehom na licu jer od danas pa do kraja mog boravka u Riju, čekaju me njegove istinske znamenitosti, nešto što je simbol ovoga grad,  a to su između svega ostalog famozne plaže Rio de Janeira. Nakon jutarnje kave u obližnjem kafiću, otišao sam još malo prozujiti oko centra kako bih osjetio bilo grada i njegovu atmosferu u prijepodnevnim satima, a ujedno da se ne cvrljim cijeli dan na užarenom pijesku Copacabane pod ljetnim brazilskim suncem.. Dok šećem prema centru, pažnju mi odvlači mali lokal u kojem se nude cijeđeni sokovi svih mogućih vrsta voća koje možete naći u Brazilu. Nekako me najviše privukla marakuja pa naručujem nju. Dečko koji poslužuje nije me baš najbolje shvatio jer su mi naglasak i izgovor bili očito pogrešni.. Nekako smo se uspjeli sporazumjeti no tek kada je on izgovorio "marakužá", shvatio sam u kojem grmu leži zec.. Preda mnom je iscijedio voće na aparatu te ga poslužio u velikoj čaši s drobljenim ledom.. Pitao je želim li da malo bude slađe.. Ja mu namignem da može i nek malo poškropi s umjetnim zaslađivačem u tekućem stanju. Mislio sam da je po vrućini hladno pivo sami vrh užitka, no kada sam probao ovo voćno čudo, došao sam u veliku nedoumicu mojih preferencija. Jednostavno je više nego odlično i to je bila prelomnica u mom životu kada sam odlučio da ću više piti cijeđene voćne sokove nego pive.. Ne mogu baš garantirat, ali mogu pokušat :).. 

Šećem ulicama kojima nisam jučer. Prolazim kroz šoping zonu od tri paralelne uske ulice s bezbroj malih dućana gdje možete kupiti od suvenira, odjeće, obuće, ručnika, posteljine, vijaka, pa do manjih električnih i elektroničkih aparata. Ja kupujem magnete za frižider, šiltericu da me štiti od sunca i ručnik za plažu.. Potpuno spreman za hedonizam na Carioce način, a to znači provesti dan na pješčanoj plaži.. 

Na putu zastajem na trgu pred nekom uličnom muzičkom skupinom. Oduševljen sam njihovom glazbenom performansom i glasom lijepe mlade pjevačice. Ovo je tipičan Rio.. Spoj crnih, bijelih i onih negdje između.. Spoj starih i mladih, ne obazirući se na modni stil i uvjete u kojima sviraju.. Dobrih 15 minuta uživao sam u odličnoj atmosferi uličnih muzičara..:)

Metro linijom dolazim na Copacabanu koja je smještena malo više unutra u naselju među velikim zgradama ali odavde se plaža još ne vidi. I zapravo kad su me brojni izlazi iz metroa zarotirali među tim silnim zgradurinama, ni sam nisam znao na koju stranu da krenem prema plaži. Malo sam se vrtio među neboderima dok napokon nisam ugledao jedan tračak modre boje između dva nebodera te krenuo tim putem. Dolazim do široke avenije Avenida Atlantica koja dijeli urbani dio i plažu. Masa ljudi koji se muvaju uz šetnicu, voze biciklom, rolama ili đogiraju. Mnogi beach barovi koji nude hladna pića, koktele, hranu.. No ono što oduzima dah je pogled prema zaljevu Guanabara, oceanu i pješčanoj plaži. Samo me velika avenija dijeli od možda i najpoznatije plaže na svijetu. Plaže na kojem se 1994. održao koncert Rod Stewarta s najviše gledatelja na svijetu, i to preko 3 milijuna. A slijede The Rolling Stones s preko 1.5 milijuna  i The Rush s također više milijuna gledatelja. Copacabana.. Spoj romantike i prirode koja je iscrtala mjesto gdje ocean ulazi u zaljev okružen planinama i modernim luksuznim urbanim središem s neboderima. Doima se nestvarno.. 4 km duga plaža prepuna je ljudi, što domaćih, što stranaca. Neki se skrivaju pod suncobranima koje iznajmljuju lokalni mali biznismeni, neki se namaću u vodi, a neki igraju različite sportove poput futevólei, odbojke na pijesku, nogometa na pijesku ili se samo u krug dodavaju loptom. Futevólei je jedan od popularnijih sportova i spoj je nogometa i odbojke na pijesku. Mogu vam reći da cure koje igraju zajedno s muškima u ekipi, ni za čim ne zaostaju za njima u smislu tehničkog umijeća baratanja loptom. Ja kao nogometaš i ljubitelj odbojke na pijesku, htio sam se okušati u toj sportskoj disciplini ali nekako me bilo sram da se ne obrukam kad sam vidio kako vješto barataju loptom..

Stari naziv za Copacabanu je acopenapã što na Tupi jeziku znači "Put sozósa", s time da je sozós jedna vrsta ptice koja je postojala do sredine 18. stoljeća. Copacabana je dobila današnji naziv u vrijeme kada je izgrađena kapela s replikom Virgen de Copacabana Majke božje Bolivijske. Inače izvorna plaža s imenom Copacabana nalazi se na bolivijskoj strani jezera Titicaca i mogla bi značiti na njihovom jeziku "Pogled na vodu". Ja sam osobno bio i na toj originalnoj Copacabani u Boliviji i moram priznati da mi je ova brazilska puno draža i čišća ali je puno medijski i turistički eksponiranija. Zapravo grad Rio de Janeiro nastao je upravo ovdje i bio je u početku francuska kolonija dok ju Portugalci nisu preuzeli 1566. i grad nazvali São Sebastião. Već spomenuta kapela Gospe od Copacabane je srušena da bi se napravilo mjesta za utvrdu Copacabana koja je imalu ulogu štititi zaljev od neprijatelja. U 19. stoljeću Copacabana bila je samo malo ribarsko naselje koje je tek probujalo kada se izgradio tunel Velho koji je spajao područje Botafogo s centrom grada.. 1923. izgrađen je grandiozan Copacabana Palace Hotel koji je znatno otvorio vrata turizmu i bio je također privlačan bogatim Cariocama te su se tako s vremenom počeli graditi neboderi s apartmanima. Nažalost sukladno tome na obližnjim brdima nastale su favele čiji neki stanovnici se često spuštaju na plažu, a strani turisti su El Dorado za sitne operacije tih malih kriminalaca.. Pogotovo su česta meta pljački mobiteli, zlatne narukvice i ogrlice, satovi i novčanici. Topla preporuka je imati što manje vrijednih stvari sa sobom koje nosite na plažu. E sad, kada dođete sami kao ja, onda imate problem kuda sa stvarima kada se idete malo osvježiti u more. Ja sam to radio tako da sam snimio neku familiju ili strance koji su mi izgledali pouzdano pa sam njih zamolio da mi pričuvaju pederušu s mobitelom, bankovnom karticom i nešto malo keša dok sam se ja probrčkao na valovima Copacabane. Ustvari vam keš skoro i ne treba jer doslovno sve možete kupiti karticom pa čak i suncobrane, hladne pive, caipirinhe, kuhane račiće, i marihuanu.. Mnogi ljudi tako zarađaju za život hodajući po plaži s velikim frižiderima na leđima i prodaju sve što sam spomenuo. Izmjenjuju se jedan za drugim u frekvencijama od 20 sekundi..  Tako da nemate mira ni jedne minute u komadu da vas netko nešto ne pita.. Malo kupanja, malo sunčanja, malo šetnje bos uz more dok valovi hlade užareni pijesak i brišu tragove mojih stopa.

Nailazim na već spomenuti raskošan, luksuzan hotel koji je ispisao povijest ove plaže.. Copacabana Palace.. Na njemu se vidi da nije izgrađen u modernističkom stilu i slijedio je arhitektonski stil hotela velikih plaža iz druge polovice 19. stoljeća i početka 20. stoljeća, što i dokazuje time da je građen 1923. Čak me malo podsjeća na naš hotel Kvarner u Opatiji, a ima i sličnu povijest. Hotel je jedan od najluksuznijih hotela Brazila a i bio je proglašen najboljim hotelom Južne Amerike nekoliko puta. Kroz njegovu povijest u njemu su boravile najpoznatije osobe svjetske estrade i politike, jetseteri i slični prodavači magle i nota, kao Justin Bieber, princeza Diana, princ od Walesa, Brigitte Bardot, The Rolling Stones kada su imali svoj besplatan koncert na Copacabana plaži 2006., Michael Jackson, Madonna. Promociji hotela znatno je pridonio film "Flying Down to Rio" s Fred Astaire I Ginger Rogers iz 1933. koji je sniman ovdje. Kada je glavni grad Brazila premješten iz Ria u Brasiliu 1960., hotel je počeo rapidno propadat dok ga nije kupila korporacija Orient-Express Hotels 1989. i promijenila mu ime u Belmond Copacabana Palace. Hotel su iznutra modernizirali i vratili mu nekadašnji stari sjaj. Zagrebački hotel Esplanade napravljen je za goste luksuznog vlaka Orient-Expressa, pa kako ipak postoji neka poveznica među njima, bilo bi lijepo da mi daju neki popust na sobu u hotelu na Copacabani od 99%.. :) Ne moram vam reći da su cijene noćenja vrlo paprene.

Sunce se polako spušta i zalazi iza utvrde Copacabana.. Zalazak sunca je vrlo popularan na brazilskim plažama i u trenutku kad sunce definitivno zađe, ljudi tu romantiku pozdravljaju pljeskom.. Malo čudno jer mi smo naviknuli da plješćemo ljudskoj performansi dok je ovdje pljesak upućen čudu prirode..

Sljedeći dan mog boravka u Riju odlučio sam posjetiti Šećernu glavu, u originalu nazvanu Pão de Azúcar. To je brdo s kojeg se prostire zaljev Guanabara te je s jedne strane plaža Copacabana, a prema unutrašnjosti na brdu Corcovado je kip Krista Otkupitelja (Cristo Redentor). Došao sam tramvajem do kvarta po imenu Urca gdje je ulaz za Pão de Azúcar. Ime su mu dali Portugalci u 16. stoljeću jer je imao oblik blokova šećera koji su bili smješteni u glinenim ćupovima. Karta za žičaru je dosta skupa pa se odlučujem otići pješke na prvi i veći dio brda pod nazivom Morro da Urca na kojem se nalazi vidikovac i restoran s velikom terasom. Pješački put vodio me kroz gustu šumu te sam se dobro preznojio po užarenom suncu i zavidnom usponu dok nisam došao do zamišljene točke, ali definitivno se isplatilo doći do gore.  Prekrasan pogled na Atlantski ocean, grad Rio de Janeiro razbacan po brdima i njegovim kotlinama, pješčane plaže, neboderi, favele. 

U daljini na brdu Corcovado, gleda nas impozantan kip Krista Otkupitelja (Cristo Redentor) kao simbol kršćanstva, koji čuva ovaj grad pun poroka i grijeha i kao da pokušava svojim raširenim rukama prigrliti nas, otkupiti nam naše grijehe i reći nam da pokušamo biti bolji ljudi, da ne gledamo na boju kožu, na novac, da pomognemo siromašnom i nemoćnom.. Znam da ovo možda zvuči patetično i iako je Brazil velikom većinom katolička zemlja, zasigurno nije zemlja socijalne i ekonomske jednakosti. To je zemlja u kojoj u nekim njenim dijelovima još uvijek ima rasizma, zemlja u kojoj je one-night-stand sex sasvim uobičajena stvar, zemlja gdje prostitucija buja, zemlja u kojoj se izmjenjuju smrtonosne akcije bandi narko-trafikanata, zemlja u kojoj možete nastradati radi jednog mobitela ili 10 dolara kojih imate ili nemate u džepu.. Ali opet, kada pogledate prema Njemu, osjećate se malim ispod zvijezda, poniznim i skromnim.. Možda je zato proglašen 7. svjetskim čudom 2007. godine. Zanimljivo je da je kompletna statua napravljena u Francuskoj i u dijelovima prenesena u Rio, što i nije baš bilo lako jer cijeli kip ima težinu od 700 tona. Kip je svečano otvoren 1931. Godine 2008. godine pogodila ga je munja te je Žesus dobio oštećenja na prstima, glavi i obrvama. Još jedno manje oštećenje od munje doživio je 2014. kada je nastradao njegov prst na desnoj ruci. Znaju ga ponekad osvijetliti u određenim bojama neke simbolike u znak solidarnosti. U vrijeme kada je brazilski nogometaš Ronaldo igrao za Inter Milano, tvornica guma Pirelli napravila je reklamu s Ronaldom i njegovom tipičnom proslavom gola s objema rukama raširenim, isto kao i kod kipa Krista Otkupitelja, koji je bio osvijetljen u bojama Intera. Izbio je jedan mali skandal oko toga jer katolička crkva tu reklamu nije odobravala.

Odlučio sam ne ići na drugi, viši dio brda Šećerne glave jer me je bilo malo strah pošto ta kabina u kojoj se nalazite dok idete gore, prolazi ispod duboke usjekline između dva vrha brda, a i karta za žičaru bila je dosta skupa pa sam rađe odlučio pojesti nešto za taj novac nego se znojiti od straha u ljuljajućoj kabini na skoro 400 m nadmorske visine. Popio sam besplatnu vodu na pipi i spustio se istim putem dolje. Moram se požuriti jer danas me još čeka druga poznata plaža po imenu Ipanema. 

Ipanema je možda čak i podjednako popularna kao Copacabana, a njezinoj popularnosti pogotovo je doprinijela pjesma "The Girl from Ipanema", muzičkog novog vala iz 60-tih godina prošlog stoljeća, pod nazivom Bossa Nova. Taj glazbeni stil nastao je kao spoj sambe i jazza. Bossa Nova postala je popularna u svijetu upravo zbog ove pjesme i njezinih začetnika pjevača/gitarista João Gilberto i saksofonista Stan Getz. Kako Gilberto nije znao engleski, nagovorio je svoju ženu Astrid koja ga je znala, da ju otpjeva na engleskom jeziku. Pjesma je ubrzo postala mega popularna i 1965. dobila ja nagradu Grammy za Record of the year.

Princip i still plaže je isti kao i na Copacabani, sve ostalo su nijanse..

Plaža i kvart dobili su ime prema Tupi domorocima koji su tako nazivali ovo mjesto i živjeli su ovdje do kolonijalnog doba dok nisu polako iščezli. Ime se tvori od dvije riječi ipa i nem-a, što bi u slobodnom prijevodu značilo nešto kao ustajala voda ili smrdljivo jezero. No stvarno ne mogu reć da ovdje nešto smrdi i da liči na ustajalu vodu. U daljini prema zapadu, gdje se Ipanema nastavlja u Leblon, vidi se brdo po imenu Dva brata "Dos Irmãos" koje uvijek negdje izađe na pozadini selfija :).. 

Sasvim je uobičajeno da vidite gay parove kako romantično šeću po pijesku držeći se za ruke.. Zamislite takvu sliku i priliku na Bačvicama u Splitu.. Procjenjuje se da na plaži Ipanema ima oko 50% gay i bi muškaraca, no ja bih rekao da ih ima čak i više. Možda su neki od njih i metroseksualci koji briju ili depiliraju kompletno sve dlake na tijelu pa mi je teško prepoznati koji je koji od svih tih seksualaca. Tu slobodu osjetili su i hipiji koji su 1968. pokrenuli nedjeljni sajam koji traje i dan danas s preko 700 štandova.

Zamolio sam nekog lika koji je bio s dvije kćeri da mi pričuva stvari dok sam se išao malo probrčkati u moru. Poslije smo ušli malo u ćakulu pa me pitao odakle sam. Kad je čuo da sam iz Hrvatske, rekao mi je da je bio prije 30 godina u Zagrebu i da tamo ima prijatelja koji radi u Zagrebačkoj školi crtanog filma jer se i sam bavi istim poslom te je s njim surađivao neko vrijeme. Tko zna, možda je i taj Brazilac bio neka inspiracija za lik Baltazara. Ja sam mu se velikodušno ponudio za pomoć ako išta treba iz Zagreba.. 

Sa zalaskom sunca na Ipanemi opraštam se od plaže i krećem na metro prema hotelu na tuširanje i odlazak u Lapu ne koje pićence. Lapa, Kvart poznat po noćnom životu i noćnim klubovima, restoranima, školama sambe i plesa forró,. Poznat je također po svom kolonijalnom nasljeđu. Najznačajnija znamenitost Lape je akvadukt Arcos da Lapa, 270 m dug, napravljen u rimskom stilu iz 18. stoljeća.  Kako sam bio sam, bilo mi je glupo ući u neki klub pa sam popio piće na nekom otvorenom baru te se upoznao s nekom simpatičnom ekipom iz grada Belem koji se nalazi na ušću rijeke Amazone. Najsimpatičnija bila je njihova predivna frendica zavodničkog pogleda i zaraznog osmijeha, no nikako joj nisam uspio upamtiti ime :(..

Drugi dan otišao sam do trga Praça Quinze de Novembro odakle idu trajektne linije do Niterói, manjeg brata Rio de Janeira. Kako su na davanje imena brazilskih gradova obično imali utjecaj domorodački nazivi pa tako je i ovaj grad dobio ime po jeziku Tupí Indijanaca, a znači skrivena voda. Čak se i osnutak grada veže za Tupí Indijanca Araribóia kojeg je baš on osnovao 1573. Njega su kasnije prisilno pokrstili te je dobio ime Martim Afonso prema istoimenom Portugalcu koji je bio zapovjednik prve službene portugalske ekspedicije na kopno kolonije Brazila. Grad je dobio ime São Laurenço Dos Indios, a početkom 19. stoljeća promijenio je ime u Vila Real da Praia Grande (Kraljevski grad druge obale). Cijelo poslijepodne proveo sam u tom gradu koji se od 1835. do danas zove Niterói. Statistike govore da ovaj grad ima jako dobre pokazatelje što se tiče životnog standarda Brazila. Ima najviši indeks ljudskog razvoja države te je druga općina s najvećim prosječnim mjesečnim dohotkom u Brazilu. Možda zato ima i nadimak Nasmijani grad "Cidade Sorriso", jer što je više para to je i veći osmijeh :).  

1961. ovdje se dogodila jedna od najvećih tragedija u novijoj povijesti Brazila kada je izbio požar u cirkusu kojeg su podmetnuli nezadovoljni zaposlenici cirkusa i to je najsmrtonosnija nesreća u analima cirkuskih predstava. Možda je i to razlog da su ovdje najviše plaće jer nitko se više ne želi poigravati s nezadovoljnim radnicima, koji bi možda mogli zapaliti i cijeli grad. Najzanimljivija znamenitost je Muzej suvremene umjetnosti MAC, kojeg je projektirao poznati arhitekt Oscar Niemeyer. On je jedan od najvažnijih predstavnika moderne arhitekture i pionir je upotrebe armiranog betona. Projektirao je više od 600 objekata u Brazilu, SAD-u i Europi,, a njegovi najpoznatiji radovi su kreiranje novog glavnog grada Brazila po imenu Brasilia, sjedište UN-a u New Yorku, Sambódromo u Río de Janeiro, Casa se Baile u Belo Horizonte itd.. Zgrada je vrlo zanimljivog oblika i zapravo je slična letećem tanjuru. Nalazi se na plaži Boa Viagem i odavde se pruža lijep pogled prema zaljevu Guanabara i Šećernoj glavi. Kada sam se trajektom vraćao nazad do Ria, bio je sumrak. Slika koja se pružala prema Riu bila je nestvarna. Pomislio sam da bi vanzemaljci stvarno mogli odabrati ovo lijepo mjesto za posjet našoj planeti. Tko zna, možda i jesu, i možda je sam Oscar Niemeyer bio prisutan pri njihovom iskrcavanju te im posvetio ovo modernističko čudo od građevine.

Kasno u noć imam let za Manaus, stoga se moram oprostiti od Rija, barem za sada.. Nadam se da ću uspjeti vidjeti preostale znamenitosti koje su još ostale u planu, a nisam ih uspio sve izrealizirati kao npr. stadion Maracaná, odlazak do kipa Krista Otkupitelja kojeg sam samo vidio s brda Šećerne glave i još dosta toga.. Moj let natrag za Hrvatsku je iz Ria, no tada će biti vrijeme karnevala, a to znači totalna ludnica i kaos, nespavanje, bančevanje, alkoholizacija. Ukratko Sodoma i Gomora.. No grijeh je ponekad sladak :)

My Review of Fushigi Yugi

I’m a big fan of AUs and the freedom that fans have to explore Sonic or any fandom in ways that diverge from the source material, but with AUs and more recent Sonic stuff being what a lot of new fans brought in from the movie will see, the possibility of providing false information is far to high if we are not careful. That SEGA also spreads misinformation only makes matter worse and it is the heart of this particular post.

One of the biggest misconceptions of Sonic that SEGA perpetrates both through retcons and from Sonic Generations onward is that Sonic before the Sonic Adventure (Adventure henceforth )rebranding back in 1998/1999 is that “Classic Sonic “ as he is dubbed these days is possessed of an age of around eleven and is even shorter than Sonic’s 1 meter/3′3″ height. The height can actually be sourced to a profile of Metal Sonic’s that lists him at around seventy something centimeters as well as Generations making him shorter to account for the difference in proportions. But the truth is, Sonic was always listed at 1 meter tall, both before and after the Adventure redesign.

Age on the other hand is where things get really strange. Again, a retcon for Generations makes sense to an extent, especially when you consider that the characters had their ages shuffled around as it was with the Adventure redesign. Amy aged up from 8 to 12 and Knuckles aged up from 15 to 16. Tails remained the same but Sonic actually received a subtle change. Bios that listed Sonic’s age before Adventure typically listed him at 15 to 16 years old. That would actually make him the same age or older than his Adventure onward counterpart. But it gets even weirder. According to the Sonic Technical Files (currently hosted by Sonnic Fansite Sonic Retro here - http://info.sonicretro.org/Original_Story) Sonic was actually originally thought about to be even older, around 18 years old. Suddenly, Sonic from his typically dubbed Classic Era is actually definitively older than his modern counterpart, yet is portrayed as a younger bubbly child from Sonic Generations onward. And I assure you, this is a retcon.

If you grew up in the 90s like I did and were introduced to Sonic when he debuted back in 1991, then you will remember the western advertising over embracing his teenager with an attitude description. And it wasn’t just in game ads, it was in all Sonic media available in the west. The US cartoons, the Archie and Fleetway comics, and so on, portrayed Sonic as an uppity teenager with an attitude problem (some cases being far worse than others). That teenager of a high school age mentality was the backbone for why the Archie Sonic comics were littered with teenager romance drama, which would look rather distasteful if you think about it post retcons now. But they were not at fault for portraying Sonic based on being high school age. The material and information they were provided told them as such and so they based their interpretations off of that available information.

But it wasn’t just a western mistake either. If not for input from key members of SEGA of America (henceforth SoA) Sonic would be rather different and would even have had a human girlfriend by the name of Madona who was anything but a child.

Madonna was not the only time it happened either as one of the last pieces of pre-Adventure release Classic Sonic material is the Sonic OVA or Movie produced by Japanese animation studio Studio Peirrot where a catgirl (read human girl with cat ears and a tail) was the main love interest and whom even Eggman/Robotnik wanted to marry (it’s weird, I don’t argue that). But more importantly, two of Sonic’s primary creators, Yuji Naka and Naoto Oshima, were listed as Production Directors for the two episode Original Video Animation (OVA) and were rumored to be involved quite a bit with the film. You can typically find it on youtube though I recomend the subbed version, bad video quality and all, to get a better representation of the Japanese perspective. It’s really eye opening and was very nostalgic in when I first watched it post Sonic Generations release.

The thing is though, the OVA released in 1996, years before the Adventure rebranding, and is strongly believed to be how Naka and Oshima see the character. This is actually reflected in the Sonic Adventure redesign as Yuji Naka on record (a shame I can’t find the link) has stated that Sonic was redesigned to bring him closer to the original character idea and to erase the growing cute identity that he was developing due to marketing. He even goes on to say that Sonic was never intended to be cute and that being a cute mascot character would inevitably pit him against Hello Kitty which would not have ended well. Yet, SEGA retconned the Naka/Oshima Sonic into being a bubbly hyperactive kid who was much shorter and generally hyper cute compared to his more modern interpretation of the character. This retcon is only made even more complicated when SEGA decided they didn’t like their “New” Classic Sonic being treated as the same character as their Legacy Sonic and even retconned that come Sonic Forces to say that he was actually from a different dimension. Years after Sonic Forces release that decision still riles up many more dedicated fans as it breaks the series continuity. Arguably, it has too. After all, if Naka/Oshima Sonic is older than Legacy/Modern Sonic and has the same height yet New Classic Sonic is shorter and strangely mute then something had to be changed or it just starts to fall apart for a cohesive narrative. Of course Amy’s four year gain already threw things into question but on it’s own was fairly harmless considering her role in the franchise as the main female lead and primary love interest. But New Classic Sonic’s muteness is what this post will be carrying on from.

One of the biggest misconceptions of Sonic before the Adventure redesign is that he did not speak. The primary reason for this misconception I usually attributed to him not speaking in the classics. this is actually a false statement as Sonic speaks in Sonic the Hedgehog CD, SegaSonic the Hedgehog, and is quite the chatterbox in a Japanese only popcorn machine. Admittedly, these are all difficult to experience items, especially pre-Adventure, but by the time of Soinc Generations’ release a good deal of these could be researched and Sonic CD was readily available to the public again thanks in no small part to Christian Whitehead of Evening Star Studios. but even outside of the games SOnic was shown to talk quite a bit before the Adventure redesign. Again both the western comics and cartoons and even numerous Japanese comics all showed him speaking quite a bit before the Adventure redesign. Of a more canonical nature however, the Japanese instruction manuals for most of the games from the original onward will show Sonic talking.

So, where did this misconception gain enough steam to become a retcon? It’s hard to say, but there are a lot factors that could lead to it. Major fan backlash was threatened when Generations was first revealed if they got Sonic’s voice wrong and hat it’d be better if he didn’t talk at all. SEGA is known for overreacting to negative feedback at odd and seemingly random times and this appears to me to be yet another case of it. But his muteness only got weirder when people started latching on to him being mute as a matter of shyness. I don’t know where that one originated from, but Sonic’s shyness is actually a trait of his, but it is specifically tied to how he feels about his self-proclaimed Amy Rose. When asked about, Yuji Naka once said that Sonic does likely like Amy deep down, but is too shy to act on those feelings. Naoto Oshima expands further on that stating that Sonic has a boyish immaturity in regards to his feelings and thus won’t act on them but should he mature in that regard he would end up with Amy. In other words, boyish immaturity and shyness are part of Sonic’s character, but they only reflect on certain facets of his character. His shyness and immaturity of his feelings for Amy though were instead stretched out to cover most of his character resulting in New Classic Sonic being a mute, when Naka/Oshima, Legacy/Modern, BOOM! (just to throw in another iteration where he is shy about his feelings for Amy), and even Movie Sonic are all rather talkative.

So that there is three misconceptions about pre-Adventure Sonic that are perpetuated officially by New Classic Sonic effectively being placed over Naka/Oshima Sonic. Again, I don’t aim to bash fanfics and AUs as I love them and the way they explore the characters in new ways, but for the sake of new fans not being overly confused, it should be noted if your Classic Sonic is New or Generations based, or the Naka/Oshima, pre-Adventure version. There are hugely massive differences between them with things like height, age, and talkativeness being hugely noticeable. Otherwise, keep writing, drawing and having fun, and may all of the movie’s fans who find their way into the fanbase enjoy themselves

Sonic Movie Series Casting

Zac Efron(Neighbors 1 and 2, The Greatest Showman, 17 Again, Baywatch) as Sonic The Hedgehog.

Some thoughts on this I do really like Ryan Reynolds yet I worry because he's been casted for some reason as Detective Pikachu and I've been thinking would they allow that since Pokemon is a Nintendo property and this is Sonic from Sega. Yet I don't know it's not like Marvel and DC where certain actors can't be in each other's franchises or shit like that. Their are other choices and this worrisome idea about age. Yet I think he's perfect and fits the job.

JK Simmons(The Sam Rami Spider-Man Trilogy, Zootopia, Whiplash, Justice League 2017) as Dr. Eggman/Robotnik.

John Boyega(Attack The Block, Imperial Dreams, Star Wars The Force Awakens, The Circle, Detroit, Star Wars The Last Jedi, and the upcoming Pacific Rim Uprising) as Grant.

Some thoughts almost left s behind Grant, this character was revealed in the supposed leak of the story a human character. While originally KJ Apa was the casting choice. I've decided to change it to this. Including KJ was up in another casting choice.

Alan Tudyk(Star Wars Rogue One, Moana, I Robot, Frozen) as Orbot.

Liam McIntyre(Gears Of War 4, Spartacus, Pulse) as Knuckles The Echidna.

Scarlett Johanasson(The Marvel Cinematic Universe, Lucy, The Jungle Book, The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie, Her) as Rouge The Bat.

Some thoughts to be honest this is indeed type casting because the way it is. Yet it's basically perfect and fits and glad that comment on YouTube agrees with me.

Brie Larson(Kong Skull Island, Room, Scott Pilgrim Vs The World) as Madonna.

Again going by the supposed leak story and that comment really mainly it's a casting choice I'm not worried about and I like Brie too as an actress.

Zac Efron as Metal Sonic.

Some thoughts an original casting choice was of Dane Dehann but to make it easier because Metal is basically Sonic in way a more darker version. Including the idea that Metal thinks he's the real Sonic. So it's Zac doing a more kind of disguised by sounds of machine. But basically a darker and serious voice compared to Sonic's actual voice when Metal develops to talk. To become the real Sonic.

Sebastian Stan(The Captain America Trilogy, The Martian) as Shadow The Hedgehog.

Talitha Bateman (Annabelle Creation, Nine Lives) as Maria Robotnik.

Jeremy Irons(The Lion King, Batman V Superman Dawn Of Justice, Assassin's Creed 2016, Justice League 2017) Gerald Robotnik.

Ben Affleck(Batman V Superman Dawn Of Justice, The Accountant, Justice League 2017) as GUN Commander/Abraham Tower.

Some thoughts well looked on the wiki his name came from the comics. Including other casting ideas were William Hurt and Idris Elba. No offense yet decided to choose Ben Affleck considering in a way the look and him close to maybe his age or....I like Ben Affleck yet I feel my ideas of race bent might bother people and just Been Affleck is perfect okay.

Aulii Cravalho (Moana) as Tikal The Echidna.

Catherine Taber(Star Wars The Clone Wars, The Loud House) as Blaze The Cat.

Some thoughts this was basically a last minute decision as of now. The other choices were Emma Watson and Lili Heinhart but decided to go with Catherine because that Star Wars one and also the idea of The Loud House. Hey at least she's done serious roles. Including she was a casting idea for Amy but decided to go with Blaze so we now have our Blaze in this universe.

Cole Sprouse(Riverdale) as Silver The Hedgehog.

Danny McBride(This Is The End, The Angry Birds Movie) as Vector The Crocodile.

Martin Burke(Sonic OVA) as Classic Sonic.

Some thoughts just yeah honestly it's a personal casting and I do wonder of how his response would be if he was ever approached to even voice Sonic again. Including you can laugh at it if you want.

Jessica DiCicco(The Buzz On Maggie, Adventure Time, The Loud House) as Marine The Raccoon.

Some thoughts can she do a Australian accent in some way. Including almost forgot to mention this before the next casting of a character I wasn't gonna put but might as well since I put Marine. Now remembered this was seriously last minute casting. Might of had thought of her but today I was thinking well might as well go with her she fits.

Nev Scharrel(Despicable Me 3) as Cream The Rabbit.

Chadwick Boseman(Captain America Civil War, 42, Get On Up, and the upcoming Black Panther) as the president.

KJ Apa(Riverdale) as Buddy The Wolf.

Some thoughts yeah this is where KJ is at. Including this prediction if Buddy was ever gonna be introduced in a movie. People making jokes or actually complaining their character isn't canon. Along with the idea how a custom character is gonna work. Including I keep thinking the whole Buddy The Wolf is the canon part. Or Gadget The Wolf or Rookie The Wolf you may go with. Yet what I know no offense the Buddy The Wolf name seems canon.

Adam Driver(What If, Star Wars The Force Awakens, Patterson, Logan Lucky, Star Wars The Last Jedi) as Infinite The Jackal.

Some thoughts this casting choice I had thought of when seeing The Last Jedi a 2nd time and also the jokes and comparison people make of the two characters Kylo Ren and Infinite. It was a surprise Mzimmer made that casting choice of Adam as Infinite. While at first before seeing the cast was trying to imagine it. Yet when thinking about it more makes sense and is perfect.
