Playing BG3 honestly makes me nostalgic for DA2. It’s the thing about being a little group of funky queer people, doing little quests and stealing anything that isn’t hammered down.

Notes on Magic and Good Omens
This whole post started was inspired by the post I've linked here which names each card trick performed in Season One. If you haven't seen it before, please check it out as it's what the rest of this post is based on:
I was interested in digging into these card tricks more and it led me down a small rabbit hole. To start, here's a little more information on two of the tricks featured above.
Three Card Monte (via Wikipedia)
"Also known as find the lady and three-card trick – is a confidence game in which the victims, or "marks", are tricked into betting a sum of money, on the assumption that they can find the "money card" among three face-down playing cards. It is very similar to the shell game except that cards are used instead of shells." (Note: this reminds me very much of Aziraphale's three cowrie shells).
"When the mark arrives at the three-card monte game, it is likely that a number of other players will be seen winning and losing money at the game. The people engaged in playing the game are often shills, confederates of the dealer who pretend to play so as to give the illusion of a straight gambling game. As the mark watches the game, they are likely to notice that they can follow the queen more easily than the shills seem to be able to, which sets them up to believe that they can win the game."
George Joseph Muck
The George Joseph Muck, also known as Hand Mucking, refers to switching cards in play. George Joseph was the author of a popular book on slight of hand and card palming. Here we see a a King of Hearts switched for an image of the Beast (similar to the one we see later on the wall of Anathema's cottage).
Strange Coincidences or Happy Accident?
Here's where my little rabbit-hole sidetrack happened. On the Wikipedia page for sleight of hand, David Copperfield is named as being particularly skilled in this area. I was interested in why he picked that name - apparently he just liked the sound of it! But what I didn't know is that one of his famous tricks was making the Statue of Liberty disappear (which just so happens to be a big theme in Nina's Cafe). Just to add to the Good-Omens related oddness, did you know that he was in a movie called 7 Days in Hell which also features Michael Sheen? News to me.
A Dash of Creative Thinking...
Back to our card tricks, I just want to speculate a little on the amount of tricks being played here during the baby switch in S1.
We're lead to believe that we know where all the babies have ended up by the end. If that's the case, then where is the magic? In the Three Card Monte, the idea is to fool the mark. So if the magician does his job right, should we have been fooled? Yes, the parents in the show were fooled, but they aren't the ones being shown the card trick - the audience is.
Is there some reveal on the horizon to do with the baby switch? I haven't seen this mentioned elsewhere, so I thought it might be interesting to float the idea. If Neil was going to expand on the original Good Omens book, this could be an interesting direction to take it in.

the thing about magic that you don't realise until you start learning it is that it's 90% about the performance. anyone can learn how the tricks are done and practise them until they look natural - but if you can't pad it out with all the distractions and patter and misdirection stuff then nobody's going to fall for it, which is a shame given that stage magic is at its core a deeply autistic hobby

Sketched up some propaganda art for my friend @olliethescribe ‘s entry to @tmntausummit ‘s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle AU competition! Go vote for Only Brooches, there’s a little time left!
“No Crime Only Brooches” is an au starring Warren and Hypno (Ron) where they find cloaking brooches and each other early on and don’t become villains. They end up becoming queer uncles to the turtles; and Ron becomes a mentor to Leo :)

🎃 👻Happy Halloween! 🎃👻
Kaneki’s Group Halloween Headcanon Time
☆ Everyone in the group is invited for Trick or Treating! Except maybe Shuu, but he inserts himself anyway and nobody tells him to leave
☆ Kaneki’s favourite part is seeing how many ghouls give candy to the human kids, and then real eyes and fingers to the ghoul children while trick or treating. At first he felt bad about “intruding” on a human event until he realized it was a perfect holiday for ghouls
☆ The gas masks are all about trading after trick or treating. By the end, Jiro has enough eyeballs for a biblically accurate angel, Ichimi can make his section of the room ghost-themed and Sante could replicate their boss’s torture bucket
☆ Banjou likes giving “tricks” to kids while trick or treating. Every time they walk past a large group of children together, he’ll try doing some card tricks for them that he spent a few hours practicing with Kaneki. Some kids love it, some think he’s scary, one kid started mocking him for being 25 and fumbling with cards on the street and it really hurt his feelings
☆ Shuu loves the costuming aspect of it! Every year as a child he always had the most extravagant costume, and as an adult he is no different. He spends time tailoring outfits for himself and specifically Kaneki and Hinami. This year, he dresses himself as a vampire (always one of his favorites) and Hina and Kaneki as an angel and demon. THEY LOOK VERY PRETTY.
☆ After trick or treating, Hinami asks Shuu what to do with the candy. He decides to show her some cool recipes, like flowers made from melted hard candy and mousse with a chocolate swirl lid. They decide to donate the treats to Anteiku and Hinami learns to make some cool art with her candy!

[INKTOBER '22 - DAY 20 - Bluff] "Magic is a fickle field. Manipulating currents in the web of possibilities is the most complicated thing. Spells have a high failure rate. Therefore, as a magician, it is best to be good at bluffing."
Let yourself be enchanted, pick a card, find her phone number on it. ❤️

It's a bit of a tangent from the kuroba sitcom au, but it would explain SO MUCH about why Aoko always jumps to weird conclusions instead of the obvious one despite being so smart. Because she grew up next to the Kurobas which means that the obvious answer was NEVER the right one!
it WOULD!!! poor girl has an entirely skewed sense of problem-solving because until she was 9 years old, whenever she went to her best friend’s house, he and his family would be talking to each other in cartoon character voices and their floorboards would spray you with confetti if you stepped on them wrong
