For days Magica had not shown up at Scrooge's as usual to try and steal his first dime. Worried, he flew to Italy to see what was going on.

Immediately he noticed that the witch seemed depressed and when she saw him, she burst into bitter tears. It broke his heart to see her like this.

Caring and tender, he wrapped her in his arms and tried to calm her.If only he could tell her what she meant to him, but he lacked the courage.

She sobbed and told him that the Elder witches were bitterly disappointed in her because she had done something that was not forbidden, but still disapproved of and shunned.

She lacked the courage to confess to him that the witches had found out that she had fallen in love with a non-Magus....
