Manabasa Gurubar – A Traditional Famous Odisha Festival
In the Indian state of Odisha, Odia Hindus celebrate Manabasa Gurubara. Additionally, Odias in Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, South Jharkhand, and South West Bengal commemorate it. The festival's presiding deity is the goddess Mahalaxmi. People here think that the goddess herself visits each home and takes away their suffering. Every Thursday in the month of Margasira is when it takes place.
Since it is said that Goddess Lakshmi enjoys a clean home, all ladies keep their homes tidy before adding jhoti chita decorations.According to legend, Goddess Lakshmi will visit the village's most stunning home and grant prosperity and wealth.
This event is based on the Laxmi Puran, a work of Hindu mythology about the goddess Laxmi.According to this Purana, the Goddess Laxmi once paid Shriya, a scavenger from a low caste, a visit. Balaram, Jagannath's older brother, became enraged and ordered Laxmi to leave Jagannath Temple in Puri, one of the four most revered Hindu pilgrimage sites. When Laxmi exits the temple, she curses her husband and her older brother in law to endure a protracted suffering without food, water, or shelter as retaliation for the insult. The Purana speaks out against the social evils of untouchability. Additionally, it emphasises the value of feminism and gives women the tools they need to challenge male hegemony. This Laxmi Puran states that the Goddess is worshipped through puja.

Shri Mahalaxmi Pujan Yantra
Tumblr media
Shri Mahalaxmi Pujan Yantra: A Gate to Prosperity The Shri Mahalaxmi Pujan Yantra is a sacred symbol of great significance in Hindu spirituality. It is adored as the personification of Goddess Lakshmi, the bringer of wealth, abundance, and success. Let us investigate the many aspects of this celestial yantra and the rituals linked with it.
The Mahalaxmi Yantra was dedicated by philosopher Vashishtha to evoke the benefits of Goddess Lakshmi, as stated in ancient sources. Its goals are multifaceted: to attract riches, relieve financial issues, and promote general well-being. Sacred Geometry: The yantra's geometric design includes numerous patterns and symbolism. The focal point (bindu) signifies cosmic energy, while concentric rings spread outward to symbolize plenty. The Saptavinshakshar Mantra, related with this yantra, is extremely powerful. ॐ श्रीं ह्रीं श्रीं कमले कमलालये प्रसीद प्रसीद ॐ श्रीं ह्रीं श्रीं महालक्ष्मयै नमः॥
Chanting this mantra with sincerity during the yantra installation imbues it with celestial force. Rituals for Mahalaxmi Yantra Puja and Yantroddhara (Choosing the Right Yantra): Choose an original Mahalaxmi Yantra fashioned from gold, silver, or copper. Check that it follows the required design, which includes the central dot (bindu), hexagonal pattern (shatkona), and lotus petals (ashtadala). The timing is favorable. Perform the puja on auspicious occasions such as Lakshmi Puja, Dhanteras, or the Pushya Nakshatra. Draw a yantra on bhojpatra using red sandalwood paste or a pre-made metal yantra. Avarana Puja entails worshiping the yantra using particular mantras. During the avarana puja, 49 mantras are sung, each representing a distinct facet of the yantra.
The yantra's layers—shatkona, inner ashtadala, middle ashtadala, outer ashtadala, 10 directions, and defender of 10 directions—are all revered. To do Yantra Pujanam, chant the mantra of the corresponding god prior to the main puja. Light a candle and incense, say "Om Mahalakshmyai Namah" eleven times, and pray to Goddess Lakshmi.
Legends and Blessings A interesting mythology describes how Goddess Lakshmi once departed the Earth, creating grief. Sage Vashishtha set up the Mahalaxmi Yantra to bring her back, assuring wealth and freedom from life's difficulties. Worshiping this yantra invokes the kindness of Goddess Lakshmi, resulting in monetary abundance, spiritual progress, and liberation from pain.
In conclusion, the Shri Mahalaxmi Pujan Yantra acts as a cosmic link between the seeker and abundance. May its divine vibrations manifest in your life, bringing success and fulfillment.
