hotch and jj don't have a father daughter relationship they just have a boss-with-too-much-shit-to-do and best most-trusted-employee-who-does-everything-unseen relationship. and as someone who used to have a boss employee relationship like that, i can tell you that jj does her best to make things easy for hotch and also takes extreme joy at watching hotch yell at the people she wishes she could yell at. eventually jj becomes an extension of hotch with her own domain like synced pilots
