So yesterday I went out painting with the #Pleinairpainters of Maine and they were all in Cozy Harbor on the deck by the restaurant and I chose to look back towards them from another location where there was an old shack. And then I got started on the painting and was told I should move my car and I thought well might as well move. So I went for a little tour around the end of the point Newagan point. Just a short jaunt, the peninsula was so long… 45 mins down from rte 1. Anyway the painting I started I decided I’d just finish up at the studio and I’ll post it when I’m done. Trying again…. So I’m working on a set of small pieces from #NewHarbor . I just love the light on these little houses and trees in the background. The color and the sculptural quality of the light as it wraps around the trees and hillsides is made for the artist. Starting a 2nd one and finishing up. Also a dawn scene from #Pemaquidharbor. Excuse my mind like a sieve moment. Studio/Gallery Opening May21st…. - Tomorrow if it doesn’t rain I’m going out to painting with the #PAPME (plein air painters of Maine) in Southport. Unfortunately it’s looking like rain (darn). Says a 100% still I’ve seen it totally switch around. If it doesn’t rain I’ll try to go LIVE a little. I’m attempting a live “painting en plein air in the snow” Saturday at noon. Timing weather related. Testing out the system and getting geared up for the new year. Took a little trip down to Pemaquid point This morning and the clouds were really spectacular and the lighting was really beautiful. Sorry I’ve been awhile. I was swept up in the whirlwind of spring. It has been awesome. The past week or so we’ve been fogged in during the mornings 😏 and yesterday we had a full day of much needed rain. Today and tomorrow it’s raining so I’m finishing up the pieces I did during the month with backgrounds etc. I sold three pieces to a collector last week who wanted old structures. I was surprised in a way that I had any. The Memorial Bridge "Circles" piece was a part of my personal collection which I’m starting to sell off. Exhibited in the prestigious Artists of America exhibition at the Colorado Historical Museum. I’ll be sad to see it go but that is what I painted them for, to share. I don’t know about you but I find it hard to keep up with all the things I need to do and manage time as well as try to slow it down. I mean we’re already finished with June and March was yesterday. Hello. I'm also doing a lot of work making a painter’s garden so keep working out how to manage and develop that. Thinking it may be ready for a summer invitational to painters next year. One of the reasons I love nature is that it a-political. Doesn’t matter whether you are man or woman, rich or poor, black or white. It treats you equally. If you are stupid and forget your jacket you you’ll probably get cold. It’s predictable that way. It’s a constant companion, it’s gifts are there whether you appreciate it or not. If you learn how to be still and listen and learn it will teach you many of life’s lessons for free. And it can restore your soul and refresh your mind. Strengthen your spirit and give you peace space and time by just being in the moment. I figured out this morning that I probably have about 7665 days left to enjoy my life after that quality becomes an issue.
