Masterpiece of the weekend. Started it on Wednesday this week and I still don’t think it’s really done. It’s Shade. My precious girl. My senior kitty cat, who is slowly, but surely making her way to her door to the other side. Before she goes through it, I wanted to make a tribute to her and this is what I’ve got so far. I got out all of my colored pencils and even some of my archival ink micron pens, but I couldn’t tear myself from my familiar number 2 pencil. Just as Shade is my familiar, and has been for over 13 years. I know I may scream “crazy cat lady” but truly, Shade has been more than just a companion for all these years, she’s been family.
