LIV!! I have questions regarding groomzilla iwaizumi…how can he taste test the cake if he stopped eating refined sugar? Or do you have the cake ordered before his…diet? Also what flowers do you think he would choose? Do you think he made wedding Pinterest/ mood boards when he was younger? Or is being a groomzilla a novel character development that started only once you agree to marry him?

groomzilla iwa DOES break his own STRICT no refined sugar diet to do the cake tasting, and when he gets one (1) single blemish the next day he swears up and down that it was all the cake's fault.

i think he chooses something simple but pretty for the flowers—very classic but not over the top. i like the idea that he ends up choosing something like his mom's favourite flowers, the ones she always used to get on special occasions when he was little, and you're happy to go along with it because you love her and him (and because they're beautiful.) he does ABSOLUTELY have a bit of a mental breakdown though when he realizes how expensive wedding flowers are though.

i genuinely don't think that iwa EVER had a single thought or expectation about what his wedding would be like when he was younger, so pinterest/moodboards were nowhere near his radar—he regularly says stuff like "god i should have started planning this a decade ago" when he's frustrated with vendors/timelines/etc and it makes you laugh because you knew him a decade ago and there's no way in hell teenage/early 20s iwa would have cared about that stuff.

it's literally like he woke up one day, saw the ring he put on your finger, and became this deranged version of himself. (he does kind of secretly like when you/makki/mattsun/oikawa tease him about being a groomzilla tho bc it's close to godzilla.)

ARCADE ADVENTURES

a/n: tysm love!! 🤍 i love this moodboard as a date theme so much,, :’) i hope you enjoy this !!

content: fluff, a drabble in hc format, friends to lovers type beat

› it’d be the early stages of your relationship, you and issei know each other and flirt a little bit, but you haven’t gone on any dates yet

› he really wants to ask you out but he’s a little nervous, so makki suggests a group date. he thinks it’s the perfect idea, because you hang out with his friends a ton already!

› he picks you up, keeping up some simple conversation on your short ride to the arcade, his hand momentarily resting on top of your own at a stoplight, then sheepishly retracting it when you look over to him

› once you get there you greet his friends, you play a few group games before mattsun challenges you to a 1v1. after that you stick to his side, a competition of who can get the highest score rising between you. neither of you bother keeping count, so your resort to teasing each other’s mistakes

› wrapping up at the arcade, the group orders a couple of pizzas, heading to a nearby park. you watch as makki and oikawa fool around on the jungle gym, iwaizumi hissing at their childish behaviour

› as you finish up your last slice, issei whispers in your ear, “wanna ditch em?” you give him a little smile and nod, taking his hand, and the two of you quietly sneak away from the group

› mattsun takes you underground to the subway, looking behind him every few minutes to make sure his friends aren’t following. taking a seat in the cart, you look up to him questioningly, “where are we going?” he smiles down at you, “i know a good spot, pretty girl.”

› a couple of stops later, you follow issei out of the subway, as he leads you to a nearby lake. you watch the way the moonlight kisses the waves, as they flow rhythmically. the ambient sound of the city filling your ears, bright lights forming distant patterns along the far edge of the water

› you step closer to the path’s railing, “this is beautiful, issei.” he wraps his arms around you, as he dares to make a small step into this new world with you. he places a soft kiss on the back of your head, before resting his chin on it, looking out at the view, “it is.”

i just really love the part where iwa starts blushing and is super red IT’S SO CUTE AHHH flustered and whipped iwa supremacy—💎

hsdhfljs if you want more info on half truths/sadie hawkins dance no worries about sending those in but i understand that i already kinda did my lil ramble thing on them too <3

so all of this and (passionate kisses) was entirely the product of a wedding discussion we had on my blog (thank you mikaaaa <3) and i mentioned that my app covers + phone wallpaper + widgets were all themed after the same color scheme i want for my wedding, and i also have little widgets with iwaizumi fanart so she said "aw it's like it's a portable moodboard for your wedding to him"

lately i've noticed that it's a lot harder for me to write a fic without a mental picture of what that fic's vibes (in this case the clean bedroom, the water running, etc), so i had to sit and brainstorm for a second before starting. this fic is also the most self-insert fic i've ever written since the phone is literally My Phone (although my passcode isn't based on iwaizumi i just thought that would be cute).

i really like writing the reader as more flirty than hajime while he (flustered and whipped) never really gets used to it, plus i wanted there to be some consistency between favor the brave and passionate kisses. also, i would have made the engaged couple aika (my default friend character because i don't like the f/n thing, also i've written her into too many fics and gotten attached now) and makki (sadie hawkins dance ftw), but it's oikawa instead because he's mika's favorite and i wanted to thank her for the idea LOL.

this fic as well flowed really smoothly and was finished very quickly because i'm in love with iwaizumi surprise surprise... i think all the stuff i've written for him (excluding favor the brave) has been the easiest ever lolol

also!! the fic title is from passionate kisses by mary chapin carpenter, which i sang at my aunt's engagement party with my dad a while ago <3 the lyrics are relevant regarding Vibes too
