Hello, I have read books!
Personal favourites from what I've read have been:
This is Going To Hurt by Adam Kay. Maybe not the best if you're squeamish about mediacl stuff, but it is very funny and heartfelt. Also nonfiction, despite being written like a story. The narrative it carries is cleverly constructed and offers an interesting viewpoint to the medical field.
Another one is Quicksand by Malin Persson Giolito. It's a fairly interesting courtroom drama. The actual story is somewhat cliche, but is made more interesting by the main characters observations of it in hindsight knowing how much the situation will escalate.
I've also read tons more stuff, but I don't know your preferences so I'm not gonna list everything right off.
Thank you fellow bookworm! 🪱
I'm currently in my reading the classics era, reading pride and prejudice right now. I am indeed squeamish with medical stuff so quicksand would be my pick if I had to choose! Oh it looks like a police mystery drama kind of story 👀
I was more asking about any book you're reading at the moment out of sheer curiosity but this will do thank you!

Books that have made me actually like reading books:
I used to think I wasn't much for reading, but these books I genuinely enjoyed a lot!
Quicksand, by Malin Persson Giolito
The story is much of the classic "good girl with zero personality falls in love with popular bad boy" but it's told from the end of the story. Hindsight is 20/20 and this book is genuinely so interesting because of it. What's the mistake that led to all of this? Could you have stopped it? Was it even your fault?
This Is Going To Hurt, by Adam Kay
So incredibly funny yet heartbreaking all the same. Doesn't bore you with jargon, but keeps you informed enough to understand every painful detail. From moral mazes to the stupidity of people, it's everything you'd expect a doctor's diary to be.
The Testaments, by Margaret Atwood
Okay, it is a pretty well known book, but I do genuinely like the world building. Never read Hand Maidens Tale. This one makes me believe in the world, in it's development and in the characters living in it. From start to finish, this book makes it all sound so real. Like you could see it as real and not just some dystopian hell made up on the spot.
The Fazbear Frights series, by multiple authors and Scott Cawthon
Even if you don't know anything about Fnaf, I think these books are worth a try. A great introduction to horror books and with the short story format they keep you interested all the way through. No boring build up but straight to the point with very vivid descriptions and great attention to detail. Relatable characters from varying life situations encountering horrific events in their lives and the lives of those around them. All with the truly bizarre Fnaf elements.

Reseña: Arenas movedizas.
Tumblr media

Books
Quicksand by Malin Persson Giolito: A school shooting leaves several people dead. The suspects are Sebastian and Maja. But only Maja is still alive and now stands for trial. What happened to make two young people pick up a gun and shoot their friends? The story of these two, the neglect of their parents, and the consequences others have to bear makes for a compelling story. It also reminds not to…

I just finish reading “Quicksand” by Malin Persson Giolito, and omg this book is so good. One of the best books I read this year. It’s definitely not a book for everyone, it’s difficult topic (school shooting) but the way author described emotions and relationships is incredible. The story is about girl who was accused of planning school shooting with her boyfriend and then shooting him and her best friend. But this book wasn’t mostly about it but about how she end up in this place, about her life. It wasn’t said if she’s gulty or no, and it was really hard to decide how you feel about her. I couldn’t stop reading and I cried many times, and I know this book is gonna stay with me for a long time. This book made me sad, mad, terrified, surprised, happy, frustrated, angry and powerless. Like I said - it’s not for everyone but it’s definitely worth reading.
And there is Netflix show based on this book and I heard great reviews so I’m planning to watch is during this weekend.

the concept for this list was: fifty books written by women about women, published within the past five years, (2017-now), that aren’t normal people and whatever else sally rooney just released. i also tried to avoid anything that gave explicitly rooney vibes. (here is why.) i stuck mostly with realism, though some have elements of fantasy or magic or horror. if you have questions about triggers for any particular book feel free to reach out.
