The sun was setting over the arid landscape of Dirt, casting long shadows across the dusty streets. The town was buzzing with activity, but amidst the chaos, one figure stood out - Rango, the eccentric chameleon sheriff.

Y/N had always admired Rango from afar, their heart fluttering whenever he flashed them a charming smile or cracked a joke. But tonight, their admiration would turn into something deeper, something born from danger and the need for salvation.

As the shootout erupted in the heart of Dirt, Y/N found themselves caught in the crossfire, frozen in fear as bullets whizzed past. Panic surged through their veins, every instinct screaming for them to find cover. But before they could move, a shadow fell over them, and a familiar voice cut through the chaos.

"Y/N! Get down!" Rango's urgent shout snapped them out of their daze, and they dove to the ground just as another volley of bullets sprayed the air.

Heart pounding, Y/N looked up to see Rango standing over them, his eyes fierce with determination as he fired back at the attackers. Despite the danger, there was a sense of calm surrounding him, as if he was born to face the chaos head-on.

With each shot fired, Rango edged closer to Y/N, shielding them with his own body as he fought off their assailants. His presence was both a comfort and a revelation, igniting a spark of courage within Y/N's trembling heart.

When the gunfire finally ceased, Y/N found themselves trembling in Rango's arms, their breaths mingling in the stillness of the night. Relief flooded through them, grateful for his timely intervention and the warmth of his embrace.

"Are you alright, Y/N?" Rango's voice was soft, filled with concern as he gently brushed a stray strand of hair from their face.

Y/N nodded, unable to find the words to express the whirlwind of emotions coursing through them. In that moment, they felt a connection stronger than ever before, as if the chaos of the shootout had brought them closer together.

"Thank you, Rango," Y/N whispered, their voice barely a breath against the silence of the desert night.

Rango smiled, a mixture of pride and affection shining in his eyes as he helped Y/N to their feet. Together, they stood amidst the wreckage of the shootout, a silent testament to their newfound bond.

As the first light of dawn painted the horizon in hues of gold and amber, Y/N knew that they would never forget this night - the night Rango became their hero, their protector, and perhaps something more.

And as they walked side by side through the deserted streets of Dirt, the promise of a new day dawning in their hearts, Y/N couldn't help but wonder what adventures lay ahead for them in the wild frontier of the desert.

But one thing was certain - no matter what trials they faced, they would face them together, guided by the strength of their love and the unbreakable bond that had been forged amidst the shadows of the desert.

the parallels between how poc are treated and how animals are treated in nope (2022) was perfect. one of the first scenes in the movie is when oj is on set for a commercial, and i was immediately as uncomfortable as he was. when he introduces himself to the white actress, she looks scared of him because his name is oj. she sees a black man with that name and can’t hide her inner thoughts. then the pa guy is confused as to where the “older one” is, clearly giving the message that he doesn’t trust oj to be a competent person. the pa sees him as an untrained boy, and doesn’t listen when oj tried to tell him not to look in the horse’s eyes. then when em explains the story of the first moving picture, we see that the black jockey and the horse aren’t even on the same level. people talk about the horse, but they don’t know anything about the man riding it.

then, there’s jupe and the gordy the chimp. jupe was a child star in a western comedy, and the poster itself gave me the wrong feeling. jupe and the unnamed black child actor he starred with were so clearly being used as a spectacle. it made me think of blazing saddles, how the idea of a black sheriff is absurd and funny. however, blazing saddles uses that as commentary and as a way to send a message, while in nope, we see that jupe was the victim of a film industry that tokenized him. then, with the chimpanzee, we see that same tokenization. a sitcom of a white family that includes an asian child and a chimp. it’s clear that both are meant to be equally funny; an asian kid is just as absurd as a chimp in human clothes and a birthday hat.

then, when we see him try to use the alien to create the same spectacle he was a part of in his youth, he realizes far too late that he’s made a mistake. that you can’t rely on an animal. his wife makes a comment about how working with trained animals is unpredictable, and we see in his eyes that he knows what’s about to happen. he put his trust in the behavior of a wild animal and now he’s paying the price and feeling the same fear he felt as a child.

Christensen opened up on his time in the galaxy far, far away. “It’s been a remarkable experience. Everyone that worked on those movies thought that we were part of something special. We all wanted to do our very best work, and we cared a lot about it. And so to see the response from the fans now, it’s very cool.” That response includes excitement from younger fans – who are always thrilled to meet the man who… well, murdered all the Jedi younglings in Revenge Of The Sith. “There was a lot of talk about us doing that scene, and I love that George did it. It was a bold move. And it’s shocking,” the actor says. “Kids seem to forget about that scene when they meet me! There’s not any fear or intimidation. They’re just excited to meet Anakin.” Having ridden out the stormy reception to the prequels – and returned to the Star Wars galaxy in recent years for appearances in Obi-Wan Kenobi and Ahsoka – Christensen reflected on the advice that he would give to his younger self before stepping into Attack Of The Clones. “Even though I was a bit overwhelmed, I was also a confident young man, and I wanted to make my mark. - what else did he do that was feral he was less off-the-walls batshit insane in this movie the above point was kinda it
