Time to Go
Marinette had known since she was born that she was the only daughter of Bruce Wayne and Talia Al Ghul. She was also Damian's little sister, by three years.
When the strike on Ra's Al Ghul was taken, Talia quickly hid her away. Marinette knew her family's lives were on the line. She knew Damian would be on the front lines and prayed for his safe return. Although she knew she wasn't her grandfather's favorite, she still mourned his death. Damian seemed to take it especially hard.
Talia had told Marinette and Damian that they would be seperated for the time being. She needed Damian to go with his father to continue his training, while she picked up the pieces of the League.
"What about me, Mother?" Mari questioned.
"You will be on a mission, all of your own." Talia explained, "You're mission is to go undercover. You will act as a daughter of other people. This will keep you safe. Not many know of your existence, but I need to make sure all that wish to harm us, are gone."
"I do not approve of this." Damian snarled.
"I understand." Talia whispered, "I have folders for each of you with detailed instructions. Until you are in your new lodgings, you are not to open them."
Marinette nodded sadly and cried herself to sleep in her big brother's arms. She knew it would be a while before she saw him again. Talia gave them their moment. It hurt her dearly to tear her children apart, but Slade had to pay for his crimes. The League had to be rebuilt and become stronger than ever to give them both their inheritance. With Ra's gone, she would train Marinette to become as deadly as her, when she came of age.
Marinette smiled at the envelope in her hand.
'Another letter from mother. I wonder what my orders are this time.'
Marinette,
The time has come for your father to pick you up. He and Damian will pick you up in three days time. Prepare for his arrival.
Marinette smiled, happily. Lila had been a pain in the ass, as of late. Sabine and Tom took everything her so-called friends said at face value. They would laugh at the implications over dinner. Marinette would tell them all of the lies and how brainless the class truly was. They both knew that if Marinette was really bullying Lila, she could have done far worse. Tom and Sabine had disagreed with Adrien's decleration, but told Mairnette to keep the piece while they reached out to Talia. Only her mother's orders were absolute. If her mother said she could kill her, they wouldn't stand in her way.
"Maman. Papa." Marinette called out.
"So, what did the letter say this time?" Sabine asked.
"Father and Brother will be here in three days time to retrieve me." she answered.
"Well, let's start pulling you out of that horrible school and get ou all packed up." Tom laughed, "I'm sure they will be happy to see you."
'Damian, perhaps. Father; I don't know if he even knows of my existence. Surprise, Father.'
Bruce sighed, "What do you mean you have a sister?"
"It's just as I stated." Damian declared, "Mother has insisted it is safe to retrieve her."
"You've been talking to Talia?" Dick questioned.
"No." the young Wayne heir answered, "She gave us both instructions before we left."
Damian held up the letter.
"There are certain dates for me to open these letters." he explained, "Most of them coincide with our birthdays. Today is Marinette's; she turns fifteen."
"So where is she?" Jason asked.
"Paris, France." Damian stated, "She has been under watchful eyes and was assigned to live as a normal child. No assassin work. Grandfather wasn't too happy that he didn't have two grandsons. Mother taught her self-defense, but she helped out around, mostly as a servant. I was to ignore her if I saw her unless we were alone."
Bruce rubbed his head.
"I have already prepared another room, Sir." Alfred smiled.
"Please, don't let there be two of him." Tim pleaded as Bruce stood up and walked out of the cave to pack.
Marinette handed over her ledger of Lila Rossi to Bruce.
"The school needs to choose their staff more carefully." she spoke, "Tom and Sabine have tried stepping in with the Principal, but I bellieve the Board needs to know what is going on under their noses.
Bruce looked at it and quickly read through it.
"I agree." he snarled, "I'll be taking it with me to the board. I need to legally sign you out of that school, anyways."
Marinette turned to her brother and hugged him.
"I missed you." she whispered.
Damian said nothing, but held her close.
Tom and Sabine stood by as they watch the girl they help raise, reunite with her family. Marinette let go and realized they were holding something.
"We have a copy of all of the recipes we've made over the years." Sabine declared, "Both in the bakery and just for the house."
"Family eyes only." Tom smiled.
"Thank you." Marinette replied, taking it and holding it close to her chest.
"I will make sure it is handed over to our grandfather and he will keep it locked up and safe." Damian declared.
Tom and Sabine smiled.
"I need to take my stuff back to the school." Mari spoke up.
"Go." Damian replied, "Father should return soon. I will tell him where you are and we will meet you there. I will put your belongings in the car so we can leave immediately."
Marinette walked into class and handed her class books over to Ms. Bustier.
"Marinette, why-" Caline began to question.
"I resign as class president." Mari announced.
"What?" Caline whispered in shock.
"Marinette?" Adrien called out, "Are you okay?"
"Is this why you haven't been in school?" Alya asked.
Caline laughed awkwardly, "Marinette, I'm sure-"
"I will be leaving this school, as of today." she announced, leaving the class stunned.
"Oh, Marinette!" Lila called out, standing up, "Did I do something? I only wanted to be friends!"
"Yeah!" shouted Kim, "What the hell?"
"I'll be moving in with my birth father and older brother." Marinette stated, "Mother says it is time for me to go with them."
"Sabine kicked you out?" Adrien questioned, confused.
"Sabine and Tom are my guardians, not my parents." Mari declared, "My birth father listened to me. I have always had a keen eye for detail, as many of you know from asking me to design for them."
"Are you till going on about 'Lila stealing from you'?" Alya asked, "We know it was you who stole!"
Lila paled and sat back down in her seat.
'What?'
Marinette looked at Lila and smiled, "Why do you think Ms. Bustier doesn't want me to stop being class president? It's because I make detailed plans for all the school trips, fundraisers, plan the fire drills, and escape routes. I even know where everything in this school is, including the security cameras. I have kept a record of every lie you said sice you got here, where and when. My father turned the evidence over to the Board of Governers."
Lila's jaw dropped.
"If the cameras aren't working, then they'll just go after that gullible man. Pretty sure embezzlement won't keep him in position." Mari shrugged.
"Huh?" asked Nino.
"How many times do you think the mayor pays him to look the other way when Chloe's being a bitch?" Marinette declared.
"Excuse me!" Chloe shouted.
"Maybe Lila can lend you her hearing aids." Marinette retorted.
"This is why you're a bully." Alix glared at her.
Marinette simply smiled.
Bruce and Damian walked in. Chloe smoothed her clothes and fluffed her hair, quickly. She stood up and smiled.
"I'm-" She spoke.
"Your voice is like nails on a chalk board." Damian commanded, "Be silent."
Chloe closed her mouth and sat down in embarassment, leaving everyone speechless.
Marinette giggled, "You always did know how to make an entrance, Big Brother."
Chloe's jaw dropped.
'She's a Wayne!'
Marinette turned and smiled at Chloe, "Goodbye, Daddy's Little Princess." before turning back to her family, "Father, I am ready to return home."
"Very well." Bruce spoke.
All three of them left the class without another word. There was a lot they had to discuss. As far as Bruce knew, Marinette had no idea about him being Batman and Damian being Robin. She had grown up with some semblance of a normal life and he wanted to keep it that way.
The class looked at the door confused.
"Chloe?" whispered Sabrina.
"Shit!" Chloe screamed, slamming her fists onto the desk.
"Chloe, are you okay?" asked Kim.
"No!" she yelled back, "Do I look okay? So you know-You don't know who they are? Of course you Pea Brains, don't! That was Bruce and Damian Wayne. Which makes.....Baker Girl is one of the richest people in the world."
Lila sat in her seat, enraged.
'What?'
"What?" questioned Alya.
"They have more money than mine and Adrikins' family combined." she scoffed, "Her father could buy Daddy's hotel like it was nothing!"
"But-" whispered Mylene.
"Marinette is a Wayne." Chloe stated, "The Waynes own an international business and have their hands in everything. They are old money. Bruce Wayne practically owns a whole city and just doesn't wanna be mayor."
"What about her brother?" asked Alix.
"He's known for being violent and lashing out. He hates the press." she remarked, "One thing about him on social media and he hunts you down and sues you."
"That's illegal." Alya claimed.
"Sorry. Would you prefer to be thrown in jail or settle for a million dollars to delete what you have?" the heiress questioned, "The Wayne family is known for the high IQ and attention to detail, which means....we're all screwed."
The class learned that everything Marinette had said was true. Lila's lies were all exposed. She was expelled and taken to a juvenile detention center, ontop of being sued by various people. Principal Damocles had been fired, as he had zero authority to expell anyone. Their teacher, Caline Bustier, was fired for not doing her job. She never informed the nurse about Lila's illnesses or disabilities, so there was never any confirmation that any of those were true. She also never sent Lila any homework during her 'travels' and so she was far behind the class in her studies.
Chloe believed she was suffering the most. Adrien was no longer in school with her. The people that let her do what she wanted was removed from the school and she was being forced to sell clothes out of her closet because her mother was upset by how much she 'embarassed them' in front of the Waynes.
'Stupid Marinette! This is all her fault! If she had just acted rich, like me, everything would be the same as it always was.'
The class was in disarray. Not only had Ms. Bustier let Lila slide on so many things, she was behind on their lessons as well. They now had mandatory after school tutoring and study sessions. Adrien Agreste had been pulled out of the class due to his high marks. He was also at the level they all should have been at.
"Dude, how did you pass?" Nino asked, "We all listened to Miss Bustier! You're higher than anyone, including Max!"
"Well, I was homeschooled and Natalie was a tough teacher compared to Miss Bustier. Also, I wanted to be at the same grade level as Chloe. I sorta knew mostly everything, already." Adrien admitted, "I actually could have skipped a few grades if I wanted to."
Nino was surprised, "Would you be willing to tutor us?"
"I wish I could but the board made me take a test and Father demanded I answer every question I knew correctly." Adrien sighed, "I'll be going to high school and if I continue the way I am now, I'm set to graduate in two years."
They realized it would never be the same. Everyone else still had four or five years until they graduated.
Bruce thought that another child would tip the balance of the manor, but he was wrong. It felt like all they had been missing, was her. She adjusted perfectly to the chaos. His sons insisted that Marinette learn self-defense, at the very least. She refused to walk in their footsteps and become Robin or any other sort of vigilante. It hadn't taken long for Marinette to be announced as Bruce Wayne's daughter and Damian's long lost biological sister. Marinette had taken Gotham by storm as Gotham's Angel and was designing under a new alias: Serpentine. She was taking the fashion world by storm.
Everyone loved having Marinette around, but Damian Al-Ghul Wayne knew better. Marinette was as deceiving as their mother. She looked innocent in everything she did, but her mind was a war zone. Their grandfather never appreciated her mind, but he had gotten some of his best stealth mission ideas after talking with her. He could see her slithering into every crack in their new home. She was flexible like Grayson, loved motorcycles like Todd, talked business with Father and Drake. She even won over Alfred, Brown and Cain with her cooking and baking skills.
Damian watched as Marinette smiled at her computer. The look at the screen, the smile; it was his mother's smile. He could see Gabriel stocks were plummeting after their reunion in Paris. Style Queen was barely hovering above water. For Marinette, it was never about becoming Robin. It was about ruling the world and she was going do it through fashion.
Damian would never tell anyone, but he was scared of his little sister and he would take it to his grave. The smile that would lead anyone to death: The Arabian Helen of Troy.

how about an au where mari is an al ghul--either through talia or nyssa--but not a wayne. she has a natural affinity for magic and gets assigned on a mission to retrieve the miraculous for the league, which is an offshoot of the order of the guardians that established itself as a separate organization when the temple and the guardians in it were eaten by Feast.
Requested by Breeze(anonymous) on my Ao3
Cousin
Nyssa knew her daughter would be special, especially when her father was someone with powerful magic.  Constantine had no idea that he had a daughter, but she was fine with that, it meant that she wouldn’t have to deal with him any longer.  Ra’s was displeased with how she had acquired an air, but pleased when the small girl was born.  She had blue eyes just like her father and Nyssa’s dark brown hair.  As Ra stared down at the child in her daughter’s arms he knew that she would be destined for greatness.  Talia had brought him his male heir, Nyssa brought him a powerful weapon that would allow for him to finally once again retrieve the power that belonged to him.  He placed his palm carefully atop the young girl’s head and smiled.  His family would be strong, and together they would reach his goal and Earth would be safe.
_____
“Cousin.”
Damian said with a small tip of his head.
“Hello Damian.”
Marinette responded with a small bow.  They both were called by their grandfather and were told to wait outside the doors to his study until they were called in.  They didn’t see each other often, but when they did there was a rivalry to show who was the best.  To prove to their grandfather that their side of the family were the most devoted.  When the doors opened both walked in sync until they were in front of their grandfather and bowed.  He nodded to them and raised a hand, allowing them to straighten up.
“It is good to see you both.  I have a mission for each of you.  Damian, there is a leak in our base in Tai Wong, I would like for you to take care of them.”
Damian stood up straighter as he nodded and responded with a strong,
“Yes Grandfather.”
Ra’s nodded then looked down at Marinette.  He knew from reports from his daughter and Marinette’s teachers how well her training had been going.  The mages he had gotten to train her with her powers reported how strong she had gotten and how capable she was.  He had watched her training for an entire day and knew that she was ready.  He had waited hundreds of long years for this, and now, ten years after she was born, he would finally get them back.
“I need you to go to Paris where the miraculous have once again been activated.  I need you to retrieve the Miraculous of the Cat and the Ladybug and bring them back to me.  Neither of you will tell anyone what your missions are to anyone else, do you understand?”
“Yes Grandfather.”
They answered in unison before bowing and once dismissed, they left the room to prepare for their departure.
“I wish you luck Cousin as I will be the first to complete my task.”
As Marientte thought over what Grandfather had asked of her she nodded.
“You may be right Cousin, this task may take a large amount of time.”
Damian scowled at that, she wasn’t supposed to agree.  This was always how their challenges began, this was supposed to be the beginning of a challenge where they would bet over no-questions-asked favor.  She had three over him and he had two over her.  He wanted them to be even, but if she was agreeing with him, then there was a low chance they would be making the bargain to make them even.
“Good luck Cousin, I need to plan out my next moves.”
And with that she left, lost in thought with what she needed to do to obtain the objects that their grandfather wanted.
_____
This was going to be harder than she thought she realized as she watched the cat and bug holder run across rooftops as they chased a strangely colored child who was shooting bubbles from a wand.  She had been studying them from afar for nearly a week now and knew exactly who they were.  It was clear they weren’t trained as they de-transformed in some of the worst areas possible and the way they fought.  The Cat had training in some form of fencing, but he had a bo staff and it killed her to watch him misuse the weapon.
She had also seen the amount of destruction that these so-called Akumas could cause.  If she took the miraculous from the kids now, then the city would be doomed and she would fail the cause that Grandfather stood for.  So she decided that she needed to stop Hawkmoth before she could take the jewels that Grandfather wanted.  So that’s what she began to do.
First she needed to create a sigil around the entire city that would detect strong magical forces, and once she was able to pinpoint the strongest points she would begin her search into the people to see if they would have any real motive for obtaining the jewels.
Drawing the sigil undetected took longer than she thought it would, especially since she was trying to do it undetected.  But after a month, she was finally able to begin the spell.  She felt the energy of the city surrounding her, the magic of the city itself strong and burning with life that brought people together.  She pushed away that energy as best as she could, beginning to pinpoint smaller yet powerful magic in different locations.  There were quite a few places, she felt a very strong pull near a set of smaller shops, then there were the apartments that Ladybird lived in; she pushed that place away as well.  There were many magicians that lined the streets of the city, but their magic was only meant to bring spectators.  It was strong, but not very important.  Then there was the higher class of Paris.  There were a few users, but none of them were as strong as the Agreste manor.  She was about to move it away in her mind as she knew that the cat lived there, but there was also something else.  It felt like a desperate force, now she couldn’t sense whether or not the magic was malevolent with the spell she used, but something wasn’t right at that mansion, and she would be checking their first.  At least she was going to until she felt a force of magic that nearly broke her concentration from sheer shock.  The magic was traveling around the city, so it wasn’t a place, it kept disappearing, then reappearing, most likely teleporting.  She didn’t know who this was, and she wasn’t sure if she wanted to.
Once she got the information she needed, she ended the spell and began to prepare for her departure to Agreste Mansion. _____
“Hey kid.”
Marinette froze in place.  She was still hidden in the shadows of the roof, there should be no way that anyone should be able to see her.
“Come on out, I’m not here for anything bad.  I just want to talk.”
Marinette stayed silent, not moving even a millimeter.  She didn’t dare give herself away in case this was some bluff.
The person didn’t move from their spot on the roof, instead choosing to pull out a cigarette and light it with his own finger.  He took a long drag from it before blowing out a large puff of smoke.  His figure was completely relaxed, and not in a fake way, but in a way that he truly thought that he was in no danger.  They both stayed like that for an undetermined amount of time, neither willing to give up their position.
“I’m not here to cause you any harm.  I promise that I’ll leave you alone and act like nothing happened if you can answer me one question.”
Marinette glared at the man, this was the power that she had felt earlier in the day.  He would find her no matter what she did.  She needed to be prepared in case this was an ambush.  SHe quickly readied her weapons and thought through all of the counter and offensive spells that she could use.  Once she thought that she was ready, she revealed herself with her hood up so that her face would not be seen.
“There you are.  You’re smaller than I thought you’d be.”
Marinette glared at the man holding back a retort.  She needed to have a clear head, especially if this man was a mind reader.  She would need to put up her mental block, and she needed to put all her focus into it if she had to do it suddenly.
The man smiled at her as he threw the butt of what she believed was his fourth cigarette onto the ground.
“What demon did you make a deal with?”
Marinette blinked at that.  She had not been expecting that question.  She gave no way of showing her shock, but it was there.  She didn’t respond.  The man sighed as he sat down in front of her.
“Look, if you tell me the demon that did this I’ll leave, there’s nothing more I want, and you don’t seem like the type to abuse your powers as the sigil I felt was only a location spell.  From the strength of it I know that you could have done a lot worse, but you're not.  So I have no need to worry about who you are or what you’re trying to do.  So if you can give me a name we won’t have to see each other ever again.”
Marinette weighed the pros and cons of this offer and decided that it would be fine for her to tell the man that she was simply born with her magic capabilities.  Unlike many others she had trained very hard with her magic which might be what made it so powerful.
“I was born like this.  I have never met or made a deal with a demon.”
The man looked at her skeptically, his eft brow arched in a qualitative and disbelieving manner.  They stared at each other down, her eyes being the only thing visible through her league attire.  Then his eyes widened in shock and realization.
“Who’s your mother?”
Marinette glared at him.  Like she would ever tell him that.  She could feel a gentle presence in her mind and quickly put up her mental block.  So he was a mind reader.  His eyes narrowed slightly, but it wasn’t in a threatening way, more annoyed.
“If you find her before I do, tell Nyssa I said that I would like to talk with her.”
And with that the man disappeared.  Marientte felt dread overcome her as the words the man had just said washed over her.  She wasn’t fast enough, or maybe her block wasn’t strong enough.  Grandfather would be disappointed in her, and Mother.  She shivered at the thought.
She returned to the shadows and once again began her journey to the Mansion, though her mind was filled with fear of what would happen if they found out what happened.
_____
The security system was laughable, she thought to herself as she slid in through the window that led to the main study.  This was one of the places she had felt the magic so strongly, but it wasn’t the place she was looking for.  She stood in the shadowed corner of the office, scanning the room for anything that could be a trap or cause her to mess up.  She smiled to herself when she saw nothing of the sort and quietly muttered a revealing spell to herself.  Once she opened her eyes she could see the magical energy all around the manor.  There were three strong magical forces.  The dark tar-like force must belong to the Cat, but the polluted cloud-like purple force confirmed all of her suspicions.  But there was a third force, it was old, practically a wisp, but it was still there.  It was a faded sickly-blue color that had been laid dormant for quite some time.  She followed the light blue to a portrait where the blue was the strongest, though still very faint.  She pulled back the painting and came across a safe.  She typed in the code of the late Emilee Agreste’s birthdate and was happy to see it open itself up.  There was a peacock shaped broach, it was damaged, but she could feel the magic that radiated from it.  So she took it, obviously the older Agreste had hurt this poor item in some way, he didn’t deserve such power.
She quickly closed the safe and portrait doors before she began to follow the thick purple.  Quietly she opened the door that led to the older Agreste’s room and followed the magical trace to a broach that laid atop a dresser next to the sleeping Agrest’s bed.  Taking it was child’s play, it wasn’t anything grand.  There was no fight, no curses, no resistance.  She took it and left without a trace that she was even there to begin with.  She thought about taking the Cat Jewel now, afterall it would be so easy, but that wouldn’t be right.  He too was a hero, if she were to take it, it would be in a true and fair battle of skill and wit.  And so she left with the jewels of the villain so that he could never torment the city again.  She knew she would still see the heroes again, afterall they wouldn’t know that the villain was gone until she gave the jewels back to them, and they always patrolled together on Wednesday nights.  So she would just have to wait a little longer until she could finally return to the League.
_____
Sunday night she jolted up from her bed, her knife pointed at the neck of the person who had dared to enter her room.  She was at a cheap run down motel near the edge of the city.  She had installed her own locks and alarms in the place so that she would know if someone had broken in.  None of them had gone off, and if she hadn’t been trained to awaken at the mere presence of someone else, she knew that she wouldn’t even be here today.  She glared up at the man and was shocked to see that it was the same man that had stopped her on the roof on Friday night.
“Hey kid.  Talked to your mom, turns out that you never knew who your dad is.”
Marinette raised a brow.  It was true that she didn’t know who her father was, she was always told that he was never relevant, so she had always pushed thoughts of him away to the back of her mind.  She didn’t understand what that had to do with the man who had just teleported into her room, despite the ruins she made to prevent such a thing.
“Well, how would you like to get to know him?”
She was extremely confused now.  How did this man know her mother, how did he know her father, were they partners, did he join with the League for something once?
“Well, I’m excited to get to know you, so let's get out of this city.”
It took a moment to understand what he meant.  Her grip on the knife never faltered as she kept it level with his neck, but she was confused now.  Was this man really her father?  If so, her mother had a terrible taste in men.  He was disheveled, his hair matted, he smelled like cigarettes, and seemed very unpleasant.  But she was sure her mother had her reasons.
‘Everyone has a purpose.  Sometimes we have to exploit it for the mission, even if we’d never do it otherwise.’
She remembered her mother saying those words to her right before her first kill.  He must have been part of a mission.  A mission to have her.
“I need to finish my mission.”
She had already been gone for so long, and she was so close to being able to return.
“Not anymore, Ra’s is gone.”
The dagger nearly slipped from her hands at his words, but she quickly recovered.
“Liar, he can never die!”
“Sorry to say kid, but Deathstroke blocked his ability to get to the Pit before he killed him.  Your aunt, cousin, and mother are still alive, but Ra’s is gone, thus your mission is void.  Your cousin is staying with his father and your mother wants you to stay and train under me until she and Talia are able to deal with the mess.”
Marinette didn’t know how to respond as she processed the news.  Her grandfather was dead, she had been training so long for this very moment, and now there was no point in carrying it through.
“I want proof.”
She said, refusing to just believe such a far-fetched story.  This could be a trick after-all, and she wasn’t one to fall for something so easily.
“And I mean physical proof.  I will not fall for any of your magical farces, magician.”
He nodded, as if thinking through what she said before sighing.
“Very well, I know you can teleport to your mother.  Go and ask her, she should be in one of her safehouses at the moment.”
Marinette glared at the man.  This could be a trap, and she had no idea what would happen if did what he said.  He sighed in exasperation,
“You really are a mistrustful child.”
“Trust is for fools.”
“Just like your mother.”
He mumbled, and the next thing she knew she was in a new room in a place she had never seen before.  She looked around and saw the man in the corner of the room staring straight at the door in front of them.  She glared at him and was about to throw her dagger at him, but before she could the door burst open and there was a gun pointed at her.  Quickly, Marinette stood and bowed,
“Hello Mother, sorry for the intrusion.”
She said quickly, dropping her hand to her side.
“Well I’m not.  You need to tell her the truth.”
The blonde man grumbled while staring annoyedly at her mother.  She would make sure that he would not leave this room alive for his disrespect.  Nyssa sighed and reupholstered her gun after turning the safety back on.
“Why didn’t you just teleport her away if she wasn’t going with you willingly?”
Her mother said, only acknowledging his existence as she signaled for her daughter to stand straight.
“See, normally I would do that, but this isn't normally, now is it?”
Her mother rolled her eyes as she came and crouched down so that she and Marientte were eye level.
“Marientte.  This is your father, John Constantine.  He has great power, and I want you to learn from him so that you can become just as great in power as he is.  It isn’t safe now, but do not worry, it will be soon.”
Marinette kept steady eye contact and relaxed only slightly when her mother placed her hand atop her shoulder.
“So it’s true then.  Grandfather is dead?”
Nyssa gave a small nod, her eyes steady and seemingly unaffected by such a thing.
“Yes.  But we know that he will find a way to return.  He always does, and we will rule for him until that day.”
“Of course.”
Nyssa gave a ghost of a smile before she nodded to her daughter.
“Go with your father now, ravens will fill the sky.”
Marinette nearly sighed in relief.  That was a code that only the two of them knew, a sign that this was real and not some illusion.  If the phrase wasn’t said while there was a magic user around, then there was a high chance that this was in her imagination.
“Yes mother, I will fulfill our destiny.”
Nyssa tucked a strand of her daughter's dark brown hair behind her ear, and with that she stood and left the room without another word or glance.  Once the door was closed she turned to look at the man before her.  She began to more fully study him now, he was confident, open, his eyes looked kind, and he held himself with a purpose.
“I will go with you now.”
A large smile bloomed across his lips as he slowly made his way towards her, but not touching her.  She was thankful for that.
“Glad to hear that.  Zatanna will be very pleased to meet you.”
“Who is that?”
“Your step-mother.”
And with that, he teleported them to his home.
_____
Two years later
Damian calmly walked through the halls of the manor.  He knew that something was off, but he couldn’t tell what yet.  As he passed one of the open family rooms he paused in his tracks.  Slowly he turned around, dagger at the ready.
“Hello cousin.”
Damian spun around, brandishing the knife at the young girl’s throat.
“What are you doing here?”
He growled out, eyes narrowed in suspicion.
“If you think I’m here as a Shadow you are sorely mistaken.  Dad is finally letting me visit you.”
She said nonchalantly as she turned a page from a book.
Damian raised a brow, slowly lowering the knife to his side.
“Pardon?”
She sighed as if exasperated, which was a clear indicator that she truly had been away from the League for sometime.  There was no way she would behave in such a way if she were still a member.
“My dad is letting me visit you, Cousin.”
“Tt.  And who would your father be?”
A small smirk slid onto her lips as she turned another page.
“John Constantine.”
Damian stared at her before his lip turned down in disgust.
“Aunt Nyssa really stooped that low.”
Marinette quickly set the book down and for the first time since they had met again made eye contact with him.  There was a wide mischievous smile on her lips as she responded,
“That’s what I thought too!  But then I remembered how she was always talking about doing things for the mission that you may never do if you didn’t have to!  I bet she was always referring to having to put up with him!”
Damian returned the smile as he took a seat next to her.
“So, how long have you been with him?”
“Hmmm, about two-and-a-half years now.  I’ve actually learned a lot from him.”
“Like what?”
“I can now control fire with my mind, and I’m much better at reading others' minds.”
“If you even try to read mine I will eviscerate you.”
Marinette rolled her eyes and retorted,
“Why on Earth would I want to read your angsty murdery thoughts?  No thank you.”
She fake shivered then went back to reading her book.
“Oh, and I’m cashing in.”
Damian raised a brow, but gave in.
“What’s the plan?”
“I’m going to quickly use a semi-permanent black dye and pretend that Bruce adopted me and see how long it takes for everyone to notice.”
Damian gave her a wicked smirk and nodded.
“I’d do it now, they will be down in about 20 minutes.  I will let Alfred know so that he will not ruin the plan by accident.”
“Thank you Cousin.”
And with that she set the book on the coffee table and left to one of the bathrooms with a small backpack.  This would be interesting.

The Eldest Al-Ghul Wayne - Chapter 2: The Teachings of a Sister
As time continued, Damian grew. He was now five years old, although four was when he started his training to become heir of the League of Shadows. Talia took to teaching him the basics first, she taught him about different weapons, the most effective way to kill a person, how to successfully manipulate someone, and more. Now, Talia thought that she was solely responsible for teaching Damian, but what she was not aware of was Marinette sneaking into the room and hiding in the shadows, watching her mother and brother. There was a reason why Marinette’s league name was Shabh (ghost/phantom), and it most certainly had to do with her quiet presence, almost similar to death. But Marinette intended to teach her brother more things. She wanted him to know what love was and how to love, but she also needed to pass along the teachings of her secret.
What no one knew was that in the quiet hours of the night, Marinette spent her time studying an old grimoire, describing the infamous miraculous. These miraculous belonged to the sister organization of the League of Shadows, the Order of Guardians. She was fascinated by the powers that were described within the pages of the grimoire. But she knew that while the kwamis, the god-like beings in the miraculous, always had good intentions, those who wielded the miraculous good easily make the kwamis do their bidding. This is why she kept the grimoire hidden from her grandfather and everyone else in the league. For she knew that if anyone found it, they would do horrible things with the power it provided. However, there was a reason why Marinette needed to pass along the teachings to her brother, and it was that she was expendable, when there came a time that she was deemed useless to the league, she would be killed on the spot. For despite being the daughter of Talia and granddaughter of the demon head, her gender would never allow her to live in peace, especially with Damian now being the heir. So, she would need to pass along each teaching to her brother, a burden it may be, but the secrets would help him and most certainly be protected by him.
Marinette was brought back to the duel between her brother and mother hearing a loud grunt, smiling when she saw the katana in her brother. Despite it being more than five years since the day that the different weapons were presented to him, Damian’s favorite weapon was still the obsidian katana with emerald and sapphires embedded in the hilt. He had never liked any other weapon, and to this day it still reminded Marinette of her and her brother. She watched as her mother dismissed Damian before slipping after him herself. She trailed him for a while, his paranoia causing him to glance back every so often. Eventually, she launched at him with a hug, quickly disarming his attack, and then whispering in his ear, “Hello, Habibi. How was your training?”
Damian instantly relaxed, hugging her back and exclaiming, “Ukhti (sister)! I missed you! It was amazing! I beat mother twice!” Even though Damian had eventually stopped calling Marinette mommy, he had instead taken to calling her Ukhti and if no one else was present, Umi (mom).
She ruffled his hair and replied, “That’s amazing, Habibi. Now we should return to our rooms, I need to show you something.” Damian instantly perked up realizing that she meant that was going to teach him more about the grimoire now. He took her hand, pulling her to their rooms. Once they were inside and the doors were locked, she pulled out the grimoire and snuggled with him, before letting her voice enchant him, telling him about the mystical and fantastic miraculous. All the while, her heart beat its unique beat, calming Damian instantly.
It wasn’t until a month later that disaster struck. After one of Damian’s training sessions, Marinette didn’t find him coming down the hall like normal. Instantly panic rose within her. She ran throughout the compound, trying to figure out why Damian would suddenly not do what he had been doing for more than a year now. Bile rose in her throat, wondering if he had been injured. So, she check the infirmary, but alas, Damian was not in there. There was one other place he could be, a small hall in the compound had a tiny room, big enough for only children. This would be where Damian would go, only if something truly horrific happened. The last time he went there, it was because he took the life of someone, an enemy of the league. Once reaching the room, she went in, and sure enough, there Damian was. He was rocking back and forth, tears coming down his face, and he was tapping something against his knee. She quickly realized it was her heartbeat, scaring her more because he did this whenever he needed comfort. She gently pulled him into her arms, her heart breaking when she heard his quiet sobs. Once he calmed down, she asked the dreaded question, “What happened, Habibi?”
It was then that the dam broke and he sobbed out, “Mother and Grandfather thought I was getting too weak because of you! So they made me kill a dog! She was so beautiful and completely innocent, but they made me kill her and watch as she died.”
Fury rose inside her. How dare those two bastards do that to her baby brother. But one question still lingered in her. She knew Damian was an extreme animal-lover, but he had killed a human, why was this reaction worse than the rest? And so she asked just that, and Damian replied, “That man I killed I told had no family. He was also a horrible murderer and cheat like almost everyone in this wretched place. Along with that, he had a rucksack on his head and I wasn’t forced to watch him die. But this dog was innocent, I could see her lovely eyes right before I killed her. I also know she had puppies, puppies that would now grow up without a mother because of me. She… she died so slowly. Maybe if I had found a way to kill her faster, she wouldn’t have died in so much pain…”
Marinette snapped her head down to look at her brother. Her sweet, handsome, incredible baby brother was currently beating himself up because of something those bastards she was related to did. Right away she started shushing him and murmured to him, “Never blame yourself for something Mothe–no, something Talia or Ra’s did. You didn’t sadistically decide to kill that dog. They forced you. It was either you killed or be killed. And while I do sympathize for that poor dog, I will never wish for her to be alive when my precious baby is dead.” She then started muttering about how much she hated the league, Talia, and Ra’s, cussing every single one of them out. All the while, Damian watched wide-eyed. He had heard some crass language in the league, but his sister could win an award for how vulgar her words were.
Marinette, suddenly stood up, picking up Damian as she did. She slipped on her cloak, covering both herself and Damian, and blended in with the shadows. She also used some passageways she had discovered to discreetly get her and Damian to their rooms. Once she reached the rooms, she put Damian down on the bed and pulled out the grimoire. After sitting next to Damian, he snuggled against her, expecting her to start her lessons like normal. Marinette, on the other hand, had a different idea. “Damian, could you face me, please?” Damian instantly did so, recognizing the severity of her tone and the lack of any nicknames. Marinette then continued, “Today, I am going to explain to you, why I don’t support the league. And yes before you ask, I am a defect,” silencing his obvious question. “No one in the league truly cares about me. The main reason is my gender. As a female, I’m not seen as important as I could be. I am telling you this now, but as I grow older, I will continue to be deemed unuseful, and eventually, there will be those who will be aiming to kill me. The league is also not a good place for you. This is why I have tried to protect you all this time. I’m trying to stop a future in which you aren’t my Damian, but instead the leagues. Today’s events prove just that. My imminent death is also why I have been teaching you the grimoire, for it is you who will need to preserve these secrets. I will tell you now that you may never share these secrets with anyone in the league, no one in fact, except any family you may have. For everyone in the league will just be looking to exploit the miraculous, and we can’t let that happen. I adore you, my love. And I will protect you with my dying breath, Habibi.”
Once Marinette had stopped talking, Damian’s brain just continued whirring in thought. Eventually, he decided that his sister was always right, and from that day accepted that the league would not be his future, for Marinette would never let it be. He nodded his head to show that he understood her words. She smiled at him, before tucking him against her body. And as Damian listened to her voice once more, all he could hope was that there would never come a time when he would lose his sister. For he could never bear it. But as he listened to her heartbeat and her angelic voice, he truly believed that everything would be okay. It was also on this day that Damian no longer swore full allegiance to the league, but rather to his sister, who would always be worth more than anything.

Searching for a Maribat Fic (3). Help?
I remember reading this fic in AO3. I'm not sure if it was a Daminette or if it was Bio Dad Bruce or Marinette getting adopted by the Wayne Family. I just remember that the BatFam knows about Mari being the Guardian and then they end up talking about the Lazarus Pit and the effects it left on Jason and Damian. Mari offered to heal them but she'll have to make positions and the healing needs to be private for each person. Mari first heals Jason and she uses the mouse miraculous to use multiple miraculous and one of them was the Cat. She uses it to cataclysm Jason on the chest and his last thought went smth along the line of 'Why?'. After that, I think she revives Jason? I don't remember much about how she brought them back. I do know that she uses her blood for the potion because it needed the blood of someone who is intimate with death or maybe the word was someone who understood death very well. Ofc BatFam doesn't know this until she heals Jason and starts healing Damian. With Damian, it went a little differently. She kills him and pulls/takes the Chaos Shard from his chest and makes a clone of hers jump into space so that the chaos shard can explode in a safe area, which ends up killing clone her. BatFam finds out what she had to do after that and were devestated.
And that's pretty much all that I remember of that Fic. Put a link in the comments below if you know what fic it is. Or at least the title and author of it. Thank You very much.

Maribat March - Prompt 10
~
"He gave me a diamond the size of my fist! You can't tell anyone though; the paparazzi would be all over us." Lila loudly proclaimed from across the cafeteria. Marinette scoffed, throwing a disgusted sneer over her shoulder at the Italian. This was the fifth celebrity engagement story. She wondered just how she got unfortunate enough to be surrounded by these idiots. She could kill everyone in this room in two minutes flat, and yet, she had to restrain herself for the sake of the mission. Keep playing the role of meek little 'Mari', keep pretending she wasn't one of the most skilled assassins in the world. Stupid Hawkmoth. Because of some random ass dude, she was stuck among these sheeple.
She quickly left the cafeteria, exiting the school and heading to the bakery. She greeted Sabine - a member of the Order of the Miraculous and one of her old handlers - and climbed the stairs to her room. Just a little longer. She was so close to finding the man who had enough audacity to steal from the Order. And Hawkmoth, him too.
Her phone rang, startling her out of her inner monologue. It was Damian, her betrothed. She happily answered, the smile on her face genuine for once. 'Habibti. How was your day?' He asked, an odd whirring echoing in the background. 'Have you stabbed the harlot yet?'
She rolled her eyes, the smile on her face persisting. "It was fine. And no, I have not stabbed Lila, as much as I may want to. It's annoying, but it's helping my cover. She keeps the idiots from following me around, and it makes easier to search Paris for the lousy fake-Guardian and whatever asshat he let take the Butterfly."
'And you're still sure you would not like me to join you and help?'
She sighed, the conversation a common one since she was sent to Paris. "I've got this, Dami. Besides, you wouldn't last five minutes here. I love you, but you are very temperamental."
He squawked angrily, and she could picture the offended look on his face, his jade green eyes crinkling adorably. 'I am not temperamental! You seem to be forgetting just how many of our trainers you sent to the infirmary.'
She rolled her eyes. "They were misogynistic pricks, and you know it."
'I was not arguing that they weren't, Habibti, merely stating that you extensively hurt each of them. In fact, I am quite glad for what you did. Had you not, Mother never would have seen fit to have us betrothed.'
Marinette smiled happily at the memory, standing in the middle of the large al-Ghul throne room in ceremonial garb, opposite Damian in matching robes. "Yeah." She glanced at the clock on the wall and cursed. "Sorry, Dami. I need to head back. Call you back later?"
'Of course. I love you, Habibti.' He answered curtly, though she could tell he was peeved at being cut off. "I love you too."
She came back to excited whispers throughout the classroom, and a huddle around Lila's desk. Marinette rolled her eyes, heading towards her own desk at the back of the room. Except...
She was stopped in her tracks by one whispered word. 'Damian'. There were plenty of Damians in the world, and several rich ones Lila could be claiming she's engaged to; but what if? Marinette continued up the stairs, but kept an ear on the conversation at the front.
'Wayne'.
Marinette clenched her teeth. They were talking about Damian. Her Damian. She'd seen articles and heard rumors before, right after Damian's debut as a billionaire's son, but something about hearing her beloved's name come from that liar's mouth made her see green. She was fuming, trying to force away the murderous haze. She was chosen for this mission specifically because of the ease it took to banish the Pit's influence from her mind, and she was not going to let Lila of all people ruin it for her.
At the front of the room, the door slammed open. Marinette's mind screeched to a halt, because standing there in all of his glory was Damian. She shot to her feet and raced down the stairs before she registered what she was doing. He was here, right in front of her! She flung her arms around him, squeezing tight.
"Hello, Habibti." He whispered in her ear, squeezing her back. "What are you doing here?" She asked, pulling back to look at him. "Father found something. Camera footage of the akumas, and an identity, over a hundred and twenty years old. They're going after them now." He said, a happy gleam in his eye despite the lack of emotion on his face. Marinette grinned widely. Her mission is over! She can go back to Nanda Parbat - or Gotham!
"Marinette, what's going on?"
She turned around abruptly, remembering their audience. "Who is this?" Alya was front and center, glaring at her accusingly. Marinette's mind was whirling, trying to find an in-character way to answer. Except they found them. The false Guardian and the Butterfly. She didn't have to keep up her cover anymore. She grinned, her true smile, not the meek thing she'd developed the past few months.
She watched as Lila's little lapdog recoiled, enjoying the effect she finally got to have on her classmates. Marinette stalked forward, easily falling back into her natural gait. The walk of a predator. "I'm happy to announce that I'm done! I don't have to sit here and pretend anymore! You're all horribly stupid, and it was definitely not a pleasure to have known you." She let her smile widen to that terrifying degree that always made her targets believe she was inhuman. She never dissuaded those thoughts, instead encouraging them. "And you, Lila Rossi. You are a lying sociopath, and to be honest, I can respect that! But you chose to put my beloved's name in your mouth, and you've made me mad. Unfortunately for you, that is an unpleasant situation to be in."
"M-Marinette?" Alya tripped backwards on the steps, falling on her butt. She was ignored. Marinette's focus was on Lila, the repulsive girl who dared to soil her beloved's name with her tongue. To her credit, Lila was managing to hold eye contact with Marinette, even if it was in paralysis. "Tell me," Marinette slammed her hands on the lying girl's desk. "Do you do any research before you decide to spread rumors?"
Lila was pale and shaking, her mouth a thin line. She didn't answer. "You do, don't you? You recognize my beloved, and you realize your house of lies is toppling around you." Marinette ended with a whisper, her face inches from the Italian's.
The room was silent, everyone's focus on the scene before them. On the way Marinette's personality did a complete one-eighty and froze everyone in their spots. Well, everyone except for the boy. He was staring at Marinette in adoration, hands clasped behind him as he watched his betrothed tear into her hemorrhoid of the last several months. His phone buzzed in his pocket, the only sound in the room. "Habibti. It's done."
Marinette whirled around, her sunshine smile back. "Then why are we still here?" She linked arms with the boy and left the room in stunned silence.

The Al Ghul Family
Lila glared at the evidence in front of her. She quickly wet the papers she had in her hands and threw it in the trash.
'Dammit! If only I had never heard her say the name 'Al Ghul'.'
Lila gripped the sink in the girl's bathroom as hard as she could. She glared at her reflection in the mirror as if it could turn back time. It wasn't her fault that she heard Marinette talking on the phone to someone and calling herself an Al Ghul. Lila had searched up the Al Ghul's and learned they were tied to a dangerous lineage of killers in the past. There wasn't much about them; it was almost as if they were ninjas. The only thing she knew about Marinette was that had some type of Asian heritage. Sure, if she asked around she'd probably know, but she didn't really care.
She felt like she only closed her eyes for a second, as she sighed. When she opened them, Marinette was standing behind her, smiling.
'Speak of the devil.'
"I hope you enjoyed your little game, Layla." Marinette smiled.
"What are you talking about?" Lila questioned, peeved by hearing that name.
"You figured it out by now, right?" Mari continued, cornering Lila like she had done to her long ago, "You were never a threat to me. You do realize that don't you? Gabriel Agreste has always said yes to me. You have to manipulate people to get your way. I could have had you murdered at any moment, but I chose for you to live. I wanted to see what a toy could do when the thought they were in charge. Step out of line again and an accident will happen."
"I'll tell everyone!" Lila hissed.
Marinette stepped back and giggled, "You-You think they'll believe you!"
Lila smirked, "They already do."
"It wasn't hard to find out about you Layla Agetha Vincourt Rossario."
Lila froze and took a step back. She felt the color drain from her face.
"When I show everyone the mess you made at your last five schools. I mean, Audrey Bourgeois wants me as part of her staff. She may not love Chloe, but a national security risk? She'll make sure everyone knows." Mari ranted off, "Think of all the problems you would cause for Gabriel: stocks would plummet and all the recalls. Poor Adrien will be drowning in photoshoots to make up for the publicity. Not to mention, them blacklisting you. To a thief, a liar, and a murder in the eyes of the boy you want."
"I didn't-" Lila began.
"The evidence stands for itself." Marinette shrugged, "Maybe it was an accident that you poisoned the Minister's nephew, but all the people they talked to. All those people who heard you pull the same shit that you do to me? How you cried about being bullied and how his girlfriend was hurting you for just being friends? Do you really think the Minister of Italy won't catch the first flight over to arrest you when he hears you're doing the same thing to a poor baker's daughter. Imagine how much news it will make when people learn about you and your doing the exact same thing in Paris! It'll make international news! How a murder was trying to gain the attention of a famous model and lied her way into is father's graces."
Marinette smiled, "All it would take is one little phone call to the Minister of Italy for him to know where you are now. I don't even have to be the one to make the call. Your poor mother, losing you and her only source of income. Your father is in America with his new wife and new family. I hear his new daughter is everything he ever hoped for."
"Shut up!" growled Lila.
"She's a straight A student, popular, dating a musician that her father approves of."
"Shut up!" Lila repeated.
"You're just jealous of your little sister because she's everything you're not. Too think, she's only one year younger than you? I heard she took after her mother, but you took after your father. He cheated on your mother didn't he? He lost his job because he was employed by your mother's family. Then, he married into his mistress's family. Of course, none of it is his money; it belongs to his wife and daughter. If he doesn't behave, he doesn't get an allowance. Smart of her to make him sign a pre-nup. He cheats and he's back to being broke." Marinette laughed, "Your mother would hate you if she knew you were just like him. She has sole custody. Your father didn't even want you."
"Shut up!" Lila screamed, before charging after Marinette.
Marinette yawned and easily flipped her onto her back.
"You're nothing, but a disappointment." Mari hissed, "Weren't those his last words to you?"
Lila laid there and sobbed.
"You truly are disappointing; I expected more of my so-called bully." Mari sighed, "Make sure you behave from now on and if you decide to make me your bully again, well, Mommy will find out just how much of a Daddy's girl you really are. I'd be careful with my next move if I were you."
Marinette walked out of the school and smiled. I was great to see a familiar face
"So?" Damian questioned, as Marinette towards him.
Marinette smirked, "Mother always did say innocence was my best look."
"Think the liar will listen?" Damian asked.
"Eh." Mari shrugged, "I'll call you if she doesn't. Just forward everything to her mother and let me know. I don't want to miss the fall out."
"What about Gabriel?" he asked.
Marinette smiled, "He has two years to change. If not, I'll burn his company down or buy it out; I haven't decided yet."
"What about Junior?" her brother questioned.
"I've already convinced him to give up modeling and Agreste Senior agreed, but that bitch doesn't know that." his sister commented.
"Sometimes I wonder if I should be convinced how much you think like Mother, but look like Father." Damian stated.
"A female isn't needed on the throne." she shrugged.
"That was Grandfather's mistake." Damian growled, "Mother was just as deadly as him. What about coming to the manor?"
"Not yet. Father is still adjusting to you." Marinette declared, "He may know of me, but that doesn't mean he views me as his. I don't want his legacy and that's all he cares about. He thinks I'm 'safe' so we'll keep it that way."
Damian smirked, "Gotham would likely be destroyed in an instant if we both took it on."
"You know how to reach me if there is ever anything you need." Mari commented.
"I gave Todd your number for emergency use only." Damian declared, "If I can't call, he will."
"You better be dead if he calls me." Marinette frowned, glaring at her brother.
'Just as dramatic as Mother.'
Damian noticed someone walking towards them and changed his demeanor.
"Thank you." he spoke and began to walk away.
Marinette watched, confused, at least until she heard some footsteps.
"Who was that, Marinette?" Adrien questioned.
Marinette blushed at his sudden appearance by her side.
"T-Tourist." she smiled, "Um, lover. NO! I-I mean louve. He wanted to know about the louve! Where, um-"
Adrien chuckled and listened patiently, as she explained the stranger's presence.
"Think I can walk you home?" he asked, taking her hand.
Damian watched as Marinette turned red and looked away from the blonde.
'Adrien Agreste, hmmmm. I'll still never get over how scary like Mother she is. She always knows what she wants and how to get it. I doubt she'll slip anything into his drink, though.'
"Welcome to the Al-Ghul family, Agreste." Damian smirked.

I really hate how (Red Hood) Jason's always been his best written when interacting with poc but the fandom is obsessed with shoving white characters onto him both in regular content and in crossovers.Talia was a better parent to him in Lost Days than Bruce was in Utrh,Rose is the perfect love interest for him(and vice versa)if we're talking canon characters and most certainly a superior one to Roy(and once again, vice versa)and do i even need to mention how unique and healthy his dynamic with Duke vs his with Tim?But everybody acts like they don't even exist in the same dimension as him. It's just really dissapointing to have read most of Jason's comics and coming to the fandom excited to see people flesh out his relathionships only to be slapped in the face with how nobody cares about the people he loves unless they're white or at least that they can pretend are white,ESPECIALLY when it's shipping him with fucking children

Constantine sees that Batman fathered Two half dead kids, one who is the Ghost King, one that's basically a Demonspawn who's Grandad uses magic mountain dew pools to stay fresh, and a reality warper that uses a yo-yo to said reality warp: Jesus Christ man, I thought that Himbo thing was an image. What's next? You having a child with Trigon who was in disguise or something?!
( Bruce internally thinks of Raven and remembers dating a pretty unusually tall platinum blonde woman named Teigan, over analyzes it essentially has a Blue Screen Of Death moment*
Also what's the League's reaction to all this, and would some hold this over his head?
MAGIC MOUNTAIN DEW!!!!
But your right! For someone who has a thing against magic he sure do have a lot of bio kids that do magical shit on the regular!
Also what a mood! Constantine coming to the watch tower for some thing and sees bruce giving his two newly acquired kids a tour and immediately has the urge to pound his head into the fucking wall.
And when batman blue screens Danny would take a picture because: “thats a really funny face your making dad, would be a shame if someone shared it with the rest of your children.”
Bruce: “dont-“
Danny: “too late! Bye!” And he proceeds to phase through the floor of the watchtower into space for a jaunty little adventure.
Once again, i will say im not a big fan of miraculous x dc x dp (specifically just Marinette being bruce’s kid) but Marinette—sensing the tension would use the space power up and follow Danny and go explore the outside while she FaceTimes Chat Noir on her yo-yo.
Just wait until Constantine meets the chaos tornado that is Danielle Phantom.

I Gave You Immortality, I Can Take It Back Anytime
Daminette One Shot | Soulmate AU | AO3
Marinette Dupain-Cheng has always known she was immortal. Maybe not always.
But there had been multiple instances in her life that proved she was.
Like when she was four, she and Nino had been playing catch when the ball he threw at her bounced and rolled onto the road. Seeing no cars in sight, Marinette had rushed onto the street to grab the ball when a car seemed to have spawned out of nowhere and sped towards her.
She had frozen in fear, not able to move when the car miraculously broke down just as it was about to hit her. Her parents hadn’t let her out of their sight for a while after that incident.
That night, she remembered seeing a boy about the same age as her with green eyes, tanned skin and a permanent scowl on his face as he crossed his arms and looked at her with an air full of superiority as he snapped, “Be more careful.”
She had thought the dream was weird and never saw the boy again until when she was six. She somehow contracted pneumonia and was sent to the ER for a life-threatening emergency.
She slept at the hospital that night, afraid and alone, her parents weren’t allowed in the room as the sickness was contagious.
She saw the green-eyed boy again, this time looking older than he was when she last saw him. His scowl was the same, looking down at her with disapproval as if she had sought out the sickness on her own and gotten sick on purpose.
“Don’t look at me like it’s my fault,” She snapped, unhappy with his disapproving expression.
He looked surprised but the expression was gone as quickly as it appeared, the scowling expression slipping back like it never left in the first place as he spat, “It is your fault! If you never went near that sick person in the first place, you would not have contracted the disease.”
Marinette stomped her foot, unwilling to let the boy talk to him like that. “It’s not my fault I’m sick! Everything hurts! I’m scared and alone, I don’t need to add you yelling at me to the mix.”
By the end of her rant, she was struggling to contain her tears, the frustration of everything she had been holding back while she had been awake came tumbling out.
The boy’s face softened slightly and he shifted, looking uncomfortable at the girl looking so close to tears. He gave a hesitant gentle pat to her head as he said, “Get better soon.”
The following morning when she woke up, her pneumonia had been cured.
Since that night, the mysterious boy appeared more often on days when she got hurt or injured, and with her clumsy nature, she saw the boy every few days.
“I just realized I don’t know your name,” Marinette asked one day as they hung out in the dreamscape.
They were both doing their own thing, with the boy focused on his sketchbook and Marinette working on some colouring book.
He grunted, not happy with the interruption. “That is not important.”
She closed her colouring book and got up to snatch the sketchbook from his hands.
“Hey!” he glared at her, hoping to intimidate her but she was stubborn, not giving in.
“It’s important to me. I want to know who my friend is,” she said, referring to his earlier statement.
“We are not friends,” he grumbled, looking away.
She stuck out her tongue. “Too bad. You’re stuck with me, you always appear when I sleep.”
The boy stubbornly avoided her gaze, focusing on some shelves behind her instead.
“Just tell me your name. Please?” She whined, putting on her best puppy doll eyes, his scowling expression faltering as he all but melted at the adorable expression she was making.
He huffed, trying to act like he was unaffected by the look but Marinette knew better. She had come to figure out his weakness as her puppy doll eyes and she used it to her full advantage.
“Damian. Damian Al Ghul,” he said, glaring at her.
Her smile was bright, his glaring eyes softening immediately and she was happy she had finally got him to tell her his name! He was going to be her best friend, it would be the last thing she did even if he continued to be stubborn.
At 13 years old, she was given the ladybug earrings and became Ladybug, the heroine of Paris.
That came with a price. She was injured more often, her meetings with Damian in the dreamscape every few days turned to every day.
He had somehow known her identity as Ladybug as soon as she saw her the night after the first Akuma and he had thrown a fit about it.
At 16, the akumas had escalated. Before, when the Akumas avoided killing and only stuck to injuries now weren’t afraid of taking more ruthless measures.
Multiple times when Marinette thought she was about to die, something miraculous happens to change it like the universe was being warped to make sure she doesn’t die and in a way, avenges her while it was at it.
About to get lava sprayed and incinerated from an Akuma? The lava gun runs out of lava fuel, allowing her and Chat Noir to catch him off guard to break the akumatized object.
A car getting thrown at her by an Akuma and about to crush her? It missed, somehow ricocheting off a building and hitting the Akuma square in the face.
That one battle where Hawkmoth himself shows up and has her cornered, about to grab her earrings? He gets attacked by his own Akuma.
An Akuma that absorbs the powers of miraculous holders and cataclysms her? Oh would you look at that, the Akuma gets sidetracked at the last second— courtesy of Chat Noir— and the wall behind her disintegrates to dust instead of her.
She could go on. It was absurd and a bit (utterly) ridiculous if she was being honest but at least her life never really seems to be in any real danger.
She had thought maybe it had something to do with her donning the ladybug miraculous and it was giving her insane luck, she even consulted her kwami about it.
Tikki had debunked that theory, looking confused as she did. “I’m not sure what’s happening to you, Marinette, but the ladybug miraculous isn’t the reason. The ladybug miraculous can give you a little luck at times but there must be balance, which means you would also have bad luck days. All those circumstances weren’t the outcome of lady luck and not to mention, you never seem to have any bad luck days. Even when you do, the event always somehow gets altered at the last second.”
Marinette had brought up her theories to Damian but he always looked uninterested and avoided the subject so she stopped bringing them up in the dreamscape.
She had a hunch on why this was happening but she denied it and pushed the possibility out of her mind. Damian never said anything about it, so she wouldn’t either. She was good at denying things, it was how she never figured out Chat Noir’s identity.
Now at the age of 17, Marinette was still contemplating if she was somehow immortal when Scarecrow broke in while her class was given a tour of Wayne Enterprises.
“So this is the famed Akuma Class, you people are the perfect test subjects for my new and evolved fear toxin! I wonder what fears you all have… Oh well, I’m about to find out.” Scarecrow announced, looking around in excitement like a kid in a toyshop for the first time. He pointed to Lila. “You! You look the most scared… Wonder what you’re afraid of, hmm?”
He looked to his henchmen. “Bring her here!”
Marinette rubbed her temples. She might not be Lila’s biggest fan— an understatement— but her hero complex won’t let her stand by and do nothing.
Even when it was completely Lila’s fault that Scarecrow had taken an interest in them— you can’t go around saying how you knew the Waynes and not expect any kidnapping attempts for ransom.
No matter, Marinette can take Scarecrow’s attention off Lila and make him focus on her instead. Marinette knew death avoided her like the plague at this point and if she wasn’t immortal, then maybe she was just insanely lucky.
“Let her go,” She said in a tired voice, not putting much energy into shouting but her voice rang clear in the quiet room as everyone looked fearful.
Scarecrow looked delighted by the prospect of someone volunteering. “Oh, a volunteer I see?”
He waved his henchmen off and they dropped Lila, causing her to tumble to the ground with a gasp, the henchmen moving to grab Marinette instead.
Marinette let herself get manhandled towards Scarecrow as he grabbed his syringe, the pointy tip of the needle gleaming in the light.
The fashionista in her wanted to protest at the sack-like mask he was wearing and she bit her lip to keep from saying anything to anger him. It’s not like she’s seen worse, Hawkmoth has a worse fashion sense if she was being honest.
Of course, her mouth didn’t stay shut for long and spat the words out without her permission, the need to critique his fashion overpowering her self-preservation.
“Nice mask,” She quipped, she couldn’t keep the sarcasm off her tone even when her very life was on the line. “Are you participating in the next potato sack race or are you trying to start a new fashion trend with that?”
Scarecrow’s eyes flashed with anger at her remark and he moved forward, pushing his henchmen out of the way, about to stab the syringe into her bloodstream when she acted on her instincts as Ladybug and sent a roundhouse kick to his face, catching the mad scientist off-guard as he lost his grip on the syringe and fell backwards.
The syringe seemed to have flown in the air in slow motion, the tip of the needle stabbing into the arm of the fallen villain and injecting the fear toxin into his bloodstream, making him get a taste of his own medicine.
Marinette allowed her lips to twitch upwards at the sight, her guardian angel had struck once again. Her slight smile faded away at the thought, not wanting to come to terms with the facts.
She turned to see that Batman, Red Robin, Red Hood and Nightwing had arrived, looking dumbfounded at the scene.
Red Robin stepped forward, looking cautiously at the screaming Scarecrow before addressing her. “Miss? How did this happen?”
Marinette hummed, looking nonchalant. “You can say he got a taste of his own medicine… literally.”
The Batboys burst out laughing at her pun while Batman looked unimpressed.
“What you’re saying is, Scarecrow was hit by his own syringe?” Batman asked, looking suspicious.
She shrugged, looking towards her class to see they were being ushered out by Ms. Bustier.
“I did a roundhouse kick to his face,” She admitted, making eye contact with Ms. Bustier who waited for her at the exit. “It caught him off guard and the syringe was knocked out of his hand before the pointy tip landed on his arm.”
The suspicion in his eyes didn’t clear as he responded, “You must have been extremely lucky. This happened too conveniently, don’t you think?”
Batman was prodding for something but she couldn’t find it in herself to care about the interrogation or to quell his suspicions. “Mr. Batman, I was just in a traumatic situation and now have PTSD. If you don’t mind, I would like to join my class and spend the rest of the day at the hotel to get my mind off of the traumatic experience,”
She could see Red Hood trying not to laugh at her reply as his shoulders shook and she turned away without waiting for how the Dark Knight would respond.
She walked away to join the rest of her class as she heard Batman tell Red Robin to get the cure for Scarecrow.
──────────
As she went to sleep that night, she pushed the day’s events from her mind, and the fading laugh of Scarecrow dissolved into the quiet stillness of the dreamscape.
Damian was already in the dreamscape like usual and was glaring at her with his arms crossed and looking annoyed.
Marinette sent him her brightest smile, hoping to soften his annoyed look at her recklessness.
It worked, his eyes softening, although he didn’t uncross his arms as he pinned her with the look he had on every time she did something that injured or almost killed her.
“I know you did that on purpose. What theory did you think you were trying to prove?” Damian asked, unhappy with her lack of self-preservation.
Her eyes were wide, looking the epitome of innocence. “Did what?”
He scowled, the soft look in his green eyes gone as it glittered with annoyance. “Tt. Don’t you take that tone with me. You know exactly what you did, don’t make me say it. It is getting increasingly harder for me to save you every time.”
To his horror, tears were glistening in her eyes and he tried to backtrack but the damage was done.
“You died, didn’t you? Before we met? You were so young,” Marinette whispered, the tears falling as he didn’t respond. His silence was enough to confirm she had been right all this time.
She looked away, unable to look at him as she came to terms with the facts she had been deadset on denying since young.
Damian reached out a hand and looking hesitant, he moved forward to hug her from behind, his arms going around her waist and causing her to freeze at how he was initiating physical contact.
“Angel, I was never sure how to break the news to you… but it seems like you’ve always accepted the fact, albeit subconsciously. I did not mean to keep that fact away from you.” he said quietly, resting his chin on her shoulder, closing his eyes and savouring the moment.
He was right, even if she was actively denying the fact that he was dead, her subconscious had long already accepted.
Since Damian had died before they met, their soul bond activated upon his death, the universe gifting them with the dreamscape and making it so that they would never be apart, even in death.
There was a catch— she could only meet Damian in the dreamscape if she was injured or came close to death and he warped the universe to ensure she would avoid death.
It was why she had always been clumsy, her heart knew he would be waiting for her in the dreamscape and wouldn’t be able to see her unless she was hurt in some way even if her mind hadn’t accepted it.
Marinette voiced her thoughts out loud and he tugged her to face him, his green eyes meeting her blue ones with an intensity that made her breath hitch.
“I don’t wish to see you hurt, Angel. I do everything I can to make sure you don’t die by saving your life at every turn. You need to stop with your recklessness,” he said, trying to look stern, although he didn’t look very convinced he was going to get through to her.
She was stubborn and he knew it.
He reached out to wipe her tears away with his thumb, his eyes never leaving hers.
“Thank you, Damian, for everything,” she whispered, the weight of her unspoken emotions palpable in the air between them.
With a trembling smile, she tried to lighten up the mood even as her heart felt heavy. “You know I won’t. How else will I see you every night to make sure you aren’t feeling lonely without my company? Besides, I know you will always watch over me.”
Marinette knew her response held some truth to it, she didn’t like the thought of Damian feeling lonely in the dreamscape. She wouldn’t stop being clumsy, if only so she could see him every night in the dreamscape.
He softened at her words, though he still didn’t look happy. “I gave you immortality, I can take it back anytime.”
She went quiet at that, looking thoughtful. “Why don’t you?”
His brows furrowed, a rare show of his confusion. “What?”
She elaborated. “Why don’t you? Take away my immortality that is.”
His brows deepened, not understanding why she was asking him such a thing. “You deserve to be happy.”
Marinette shook her head, stepping closer to him. “What if my happiness is with you? Why do you save me every time when you could’ve let me die to be with you?”
Damian’s eyes held sadness but no signs of regret at his repeated decision to save her. “You deserve to live the life I could not. You have dreams to fulfill and many things to discover in life. It is not your time yet.”
At her shocked silence, he continued. “You don’t know how hard it is to let you go every time. I am afraid that one of these days I will no longer be able to find it in me to let you go and bind your life to mine in the afterlife forever.”
The tears she had managed to keep away started to come back at his heartfelt confession.
“Please, I beg of you, don’t try to die anymore. Live your life, the life that I did not have the chance to live. If not for yourself, then do it for me,” he looked desperate, his stoic mask cracking, allowing her to see every emotion he was feeling.
Her lips quivered, the tears flowing from her eyes and dropping to the white smokey ground, the droplets absorbing into the void like it was never there. “Will I ever see you again?”
Damian allowed himself to smile if only for her sake, the muscles feeling strange at the unfamiliar expression. He could see her eyes dropping to his soft smile and how her eyes were tracing his features, committing it to memory.
“When the time is right. I will always be here when you need me, mon ange. This is not goodbye,” he said, placing a soft kiss on her forehead.
Marinette closed her eyes, allowing herself to bask in his presence before it was time for her to wake up.
She would live her life and fulfill her dreams.
For him.
