Nightmare before christmas-ifies your dca ✨️

In a place called Halloween town, you are a doll brought to life by a sunny mad scientist as an assistant, but when you go on an errand on halloween night you accidentally catch the eye of The midnight King Moon skellington, meanwhile later on you meet the boogeyman Eclipse, and you find yourself wound up between the three as they pursue being your significant other.

Moon Skellington - otherwise called the Midnight King - is a mayor of sorts, as well as a representative of halloween town. Despite being one of the indivuals that are the scariest of halloween, he is actually one of the kindest and calmest individuals in halloween town. He is the one who keeps the peace and makes the laws, one of the most important ones being no harming anybody. That means no harming the humans, and no harming each other. They are creepy and spooky yes, but thats for the fun of halloween, and they are not to intentionally hurt. Especially no killing anyone

Dr. Sun Finkelstein - or the Mad scientist - is a sentient runaway robot who was found by Moon and brought to halloween town. He does have a few screws loose and does have a bit of a grudge on humans for whatever reason, but he continues to respect Moons laws. He seems to respect Moon himself even more so, with how he acts around Moon compared to anyone else. This may have something to do with how Moon was the one who let him make his home in halloween town, and at the moment he appears to have become friends with Moon.

Eclipse - or how he is more famously known, the Boogeyman - is a banished criminal of halloween town. He was found when he was young, a centipede-esque hatchling of some sort of creature, freshly abandoned and hatched in a sack. He was raised in halloween town just like most of the other individuals, but he grew up spiteful and angry about the parents hes never met abandoning him. It isnt quite known how, but he went insane, and as a result started to harm other individuals. And even seemed to enjoy it. Moon has now banished Eclipse and has him imprisoned under a not so abandoned tree.

You are a new resident of halloween town, a living doll made to be Dr. Sun's assistant. You havent been alive for too long, and you were created with knowledge yes, but you still dont know much, though you are trying your best. You may possibly be one of the least scary residents of halloween town, but despite that you seem to be appealing to some because you seem to have caught the eye of three others. Your own creator who struggles a bit with denial at first, a mischeivous but kind gentleman that keeps the peace in halloween town, and a feared criminal of both the halloween town residents and the human world. (Please note that you can imagine yourself however you want, this is just how I imagine we look like)

Admittedly, staying in a cult probably wasn't your best idea after finding out that you were living in a cult for most of your life. But alas, you were stupid. Upon the day of your village's Eclipse Festival, you were called into the Mayor's office. You'd only gone because you didn't really want them to catch onto the fact that you knew about the cult... Unfortunately it turns out that the Mayor called you in because they wanted you as sacrifice... Yippee. So, here you are in your fancy multiple layer dress of thin fabrics(or well, pastry if you wanna get into cookie terms), your body feels numb as you stand off the edge of the cliff at the rushing seas that had turned pitch black. Your mind feels less numb than your body, yet you can barely tell what's going on. You're pretty sure that the Mayor hypnotized you as well. The Beast of the Shadows... You're pretty sure that that's the thing they worship. You can only hope that it doesn't exist, and that you'd die a hopefully peaceful death of drowning. Or maybe a quick one of getting impaled on one of the rocks below. You don't know. And then, you're falling through the air. It feels for a moment like your sailing through space, you couldn't really tell up from down despite knowing what each were earlier. You felt a bit strange from your sudden spinning worldview. Time slowed as you began to think, everything you loved, dreamed, feared, and everything else that seemed so terrifying... You were leaving it behind right now. You hit the water with a loud splash, leaving a trail of bubbles in your wake as your slowly sunk down into the shadows of the sea. Well, at least you didn't get impaled on any of the rocks. In fact, all you could see around you was darkness. Darkness... darkness... Damn, that's a lot of darkness. Oh, there's something new.... Eyes? There's lots of them, big ones as well. Each one bares its gaze into your soul as you sink deeper and deeper. The first coherent though you have? ' Fuck, the beast might be real then.' You feel your back land upon something large, all the while a particularly bright pair of eyes stare at you. And then, there was just darkness.

You didn't expect to wake up, mind now unblurred as you can properly think again. First things first, where the hell are you? Looking around... It seemed to be some kind of palace? Everything was decorated in almost gloomy hues of blue and black, reminding you of the abyss you saw before you passed out. " Where... am I?" You mumble out, not expecting any response to come. " This is the Palace of Shadows." A voice begins, startling you as you let a shriek slip out of your mouth. You turn to see another cookie but... it looks like there's something fundamentally wrong with them. Almost like they'd been hollowed out. " The domain of the Beast of Shadows, or as he is known by here, Shadow Milk Cookie." " Okaaayyyy...." You said in confusion. " And who are you?" The cookie before you giggles, " Me? I have many different names and faces." They say almost gleefully. " But I am just an actor in Shadow Milk's plays, I have no real name or identity." Ah, that... probably explains the hollow feeling you get from them. " But you have a very very special role to play! One that will likely never change!" The cookie said enthusiastically, taking your hands and pulling you up off of the floor. " Yes, a very important role to play indeed!" You stared at them, cracking up a confused eyebrow. " Do I have to play sacrifice again? Because I'm not keen on doing that." You partially joke, and it seems like it was funny enough to send the cookie into a fit of laughter. " No, silly! You get to play the role of our Grand Director's Bride!" ... " what."

Hen Begins timeline

"Ah, since the meltdown in '08, everybody's been cutting back.", says one of Hen's co-workers (2.09)

"Gina dragged me to that vampire movie." (2.09): New Moon was released on November 20, 2009 and remained in theaters until at least the end of March. Eclipse came out on June 30, 2010 and lasted on theaters until at least mid October.

"Senate votes 63 to 31 to repeal 'Don't Ask, Don't Tell.'" (6.06): Hen and Karen celebrate the repeal (December 2010) when they're already living together.

"I'm a Black lesbian that joined the fire department at 30" (4.03); "Last time I saw Clive was 1978 [...] I couldn't walk out on the father of my child." (5.09) -> Hen was born in 1978 or 1979, so it's likely she'd be 30 in 2009.

"After 13 years in the same firehouse, why would I know - what supplies we need?" (5.03)

“When I first entered this department, Captain Gerrard didn't even see me as a firefighter. And now, 12 years later," (6.01) -> this is a quote that doesn't quite fit, because it would put Hen starting out in '11, but it's not far off.

Circumstantial 'evidence': It's raining on every call and every time we can see the outside from the firehouse (and they make a point to note how 'rare' it is "it's nice in the sunroom when it's raining. Which is, like, once a decade now."). They don't imply or mention a 'significant' passage of time; we only see Hen meet up with Athena and her friends once ("Three of us we get together once a month, swap war stories."), no montages or timestamps or mention of holidays, and on the contrary, many scenes are connected in time:

Hen arrives during the day, there's a 'raining outside' transition shot, then they all arrive at the station after a call:

Next they're eating, a fade to black, and another transition (still raining, as we can see thanks to the window and the transition shot) this time to night and into the next 9-1-1 callers:

We follow the mudslide call, fade to black, another 'raining in LA' transition shot, and come back to Hen and Chim doing the dishes:

Next up, another transition shot showing a lightening sky with, you guessed it, more rain. From there we get Gerrard berating Hen (gif edited for length; also notice it's still raining!) followed by the 118 leaving on another call, without her. Jump to her dinner with Athena and friends:

The end of that dinner segues into Hen's speech, and then straight to the next call (limo accident). The end of that call fades to black. Lastly we get Hen arriving at the station the next day ('Yo, Wilson. Nice work yesterday') to find Gerrard gone:

After her talk with the Commander and then with Chim, they get called to another accident (and, poetically, it has stopped raining).

So we have a period of time from end of November 2009 to December 2010. In that time, Hen worked under Gerrard, and later made friends with Chim, and 'met-dated-moved in' with Karen. Which part of that lasted longer?

Next we have this:

"They're trying to recruit women now, you know?" + "8 women were recruited, and 3 of them make it through the academy" + "the mayor wants to say that female recruitment is up" "Since you've started working here, we've received numerous complaints. [...] It's not just complaints we're receiving. Your colleagues all have some pretty complimentary things to say about you. You've made quite an impression. [...] Why would we do that [fire Hen]? You're the future of the LAFD."

What makes sense to me, is that since the LAFD was making efforts to increase diversity they probably acted fast to oust Gerrard when the 118 started making noise, to avoid the possible bad publicity.

See what happened with Buck's lawsuit:

Bobby: You're gonna get a call tomorrow from the Chief; You're being reinstated to active duty. The brass didn't want the headache, they're afraid of the bad press. [3.05]

So, I would say Hen worked under Gerrard for a few shifts.

I know that 911's timeline is hmm dot-on-Jeremy-Bearimy-coded, but this one actually made sense to me.

So in Post Jttw... what if it was Macaque who got possessed by LBD? The consequences of Macaque's actions, so to speak, being that when the Samhadi Fire goes wrong (as it's bound to with the Mayor), Macaque tries one last desperate ploy to protect bis family by doing the exact same thing Wukong had done in canon. I also imagine Wukong might not have known about Mei's Ring of Samhadi because, well, presumably, the entirety of heaven knew of his condition when the ritual took place... so instead of Wukong being there, Macaque had taken his place because no way in hell was Nez Ha letting his pregnant brother (altho he wouldn't have admitted it at such a time) near such a dangerous ritual. Macaque was the one who slipped up, he was distracted by the distant sound of Wukong collapsing from the strain of his egg, the Egg was reacting to the primordial energy even far enough away to be out of range!

And Wukong still ends up having to fight Macaque, because if Macaque is Wukong's equal on battle than no way could Nez Ha fight against him and win and Wikong would be the only one capable of fighting Macaque. He only pauses long enough to return to FFM for his armor, not wanting to risk the baby. Luckily, he isn't heavily pregnant, but it's still noticeable enough and late enough that some caution is necessary. Nobody likes this at all, but MK gets his stubbornness from somewhere, and it certainly isn't his dad.

Macaque feeling like he's failed Wukong and his cubs so much that he ends up being the one to try and confront LBD directly when Mei's Ring of Samadhi is activated.

Macaque could not protect Ao Lie all those centuries ago because he was distracted by his mate's pained cries - the Egg sensing a terrible power, still tried to absorb it despite being some distance away. Part of this "screw-up" is why Macaque feels that he needs to disappear and find a way to destroy LBD for good; he feels that Wukong is safer when Macaque isn't there to "ruin" things.

And of course Macaque refuses to harm the little girl LBD has hostage as her host.

The Lady Bone Demon takes her champion.

Nezha and the Eclipse Twins end up being the ones to capture and interrogate the Mayor. The Mayor gets a solid punch to the face from MK himself, too frustrated and angry to hold himself back. The thrall laughs manically as the heroes call up the Underworld to collect him.

Wukong and Macaque are forced to fight each other head-on for the first time in centuries. A terrifying reminder of how they fought before Macaque realised that his mate was carrying an Egg.

Wukong manages to break Macaque's possession with one simple action - placing his mate's hand on his stomach. The six ears of the shadow monkey twitching as it focuses on heartbeats within. Almost how it happened back during the Journey.

The blue glow in Macaque's eyes quickly fade, his face blooming into a smile that falls into a guilt frown - how could he have hurt his mate this way?! After all he did to protect him and their cubs! The married monkeys hug and smooch as they make up entirely.

The Lady Bone Demon is left confused and de-powered enough for the rest of the family/troupe to get the drop on her.

The Undecided AU: Red Sun

Made an OC for my Undecided AU Red Sun, the son of SunBlast and Penumbra and Connor's Best Arch Frenemy

Name: Solano Sombra Solís (nickname: Red, Sol, Triple S, Reddy by Conner 😂)

(Note: I thought of this name Solano as it means place exposed to the sun and Sombra means shadow in Spanish I thought it would fit as an eclipse forms a shadow when it gets close to the sun, SunBlast's civilian name which is Saúl Solís,- refer to the image of SunBlast below, and it kinda sounds like Penumbra's civilian name, Penelope Numbra Braxton. Penumbra and SunBlast came up with the name because both of them want their child to enjoy the sun and remember the shadows.)

Powers: Red Sun inherited both of his parents powers and use them separately and at the same time, called solar prominence. Initially he had a difficult time controlling them.

He also glows red in colour which is inspired by solar prominence, powerful explosions from the Sun, which is usually invisible to the naked eye but can be seen during an eclipse, where the moon is blocking the sun and that looks like red death ray blasts coming from the surface of the Sun. This is why his name is Red Sun and his costume is also red.

Background: After Penumbra managed to find a way to unshrink SunBlast, he became a diplomat and attempted to foster better relationship, understanding and friendship between those who suffer the umbra condition and those who do not in the city of Atreno.

One of his successful acts include convincing the mayor of Atreno to use Penumbra's weather machine some times in a week to make it cloudy so that the Umbra citizens can go outside without worrying about being burnt to a crisp.

Hearing this news, many of the Umbras who moved to Alaska came back to the city of Atreno.

Afterwards, SunBlast proposes to Penumbra which she accepts and they were married with an eclipse style wedding and with both sides attending.

When they talk about kids, Penumbra wants to wait until they are able to develop a cure for the umbra condition because she fears that their child might inherit her condition, and wants the child to enjoy the sunlight, SunBlast agrees.

(This is why Red Sun has no umbra condition and somewhat resembles Penumbra before her umbra condition.)

Later on, with the help of SunBlast, Penumbra was able to find a cure to the umbra condition and both of them were hailed as the heroes of the city.

(Note: Penumbra is able to still use her powers after being cured.)

However despite SunBlast and Penumbra's heroic deeds and SunBlast explaining the real story of what really happened to him after his disappearance, P.E.A.C.E. and the public outside of Atreno still considers Penumbra And SunBlast as villains and also considers Atreno "a villain controlled city".

P.E.A.C.E. orders Albedo (Jonathan Guerrero), who in the eyes of the public is considered "the first Umbra hero" to take down Penumbra and SunBlast for controlling their city and for spreading "misinformation" about the organisation being corrupt and hiring corrupt heroes.

Albedo, who refuses to give up his fame, fortune and title as a hero of Atreno attempts to do as P.E.A.C.E. says and takes down the couple but always ends up failing...

Albedo is instructed by P.E.A.C.E. the cure Penumbra created as it means supporting the villains, which he believes was "supporting the villains" he thinks it was a small price to pay for being a hero which he agrees.

However, secretly he got the cure for his daughter (who is a teenager at this time).

(I theorised that that little girl visiting Albedo after getting injured from fighting Penumbra is his daughter)

But also spreads misinformation that whoever uses the cure is "evil" and is "siding with the villains". There were a few umbras who supported P.E.A.C.E. hence refuse to use the cure and would rather be burnt to a crisp by the sun than to be labeled as a villain.

This caused a divide between him and his daughter for telling lies and putting his title as a hero over title as a hero over the umra citizens "who he swore to protect". He argues that his lies are what puts food on the table, a shelter on their heads and enables them to live a life of luxury they can only dream and if he doesn't P.E.A.C.E. would take everything away from them and blacklist him as a villain, making him unable to find a job and be shunned from society.

SunBlast and Penumbra would often fight Albedo who is now both of the Arch-Nemesis, curb all the misinformation by him and P.E.A.C.E. and attempt to stop the remaining umbra's self destructive behaviour over believing such false rumors.

Goals: To clear his parents city's name and clean up the corruption in P.E.A.C.E.

Solano, despite his parents best efforts trying to hide the problems they are facing from their son, he still sees despite being heroes and all the selfless heroic good deeds they have done they are still considered as villains to the general public and he can see this clearly especially when they go out of Atreno. Atreno was also blacklisted by P.E.A.C.E. as a villain run city, ruining the city's reputation and reducing the tourism, business opportunities of the city, which in turn affected its economy.

Hence the young boy made it his life goal to clear his parents and city's name. To do that he has to enroll at P.E.A.C.E. and become the top hero so that he can finally make changes in his system and bring justice to his family and city.

SunBlast and Penumbra tried to dissuade their son, but he already made up his mind and enrolled in the P.E.A.C.E. Academy school of heroes when he was old enough.

SunBlast called to enlist the help of his old coach, who reconciled and apologised after siding with Miss Heed. (will explain this in a future post), to help train his son.

The coach was already a personal tutor and teaching The Vigilante (Conner), who was a part time student there and that was the start of their rivalry.

Personality: Red Sun, becomes so focused on his goals grew up to be a very serious and intimidating person, who rarely jokes with people.

Hence his serious expression in the drawing.

Despite his good attention of becoming a hero, he also wants to achieve success for himself at the same time.

He is someone hot tempered and often takes things way too seriously.

Even though his parents tried many times to tell him that he should not take things too seriously and loosen up, and he should not put too much pressure on himself like he has the weight of the world of his shoulders, he won't listen.

Relationship with The Vigilante: He despises Connor because despite, being in the same boat as him: having a villain parent and a hero one (Red Sun considers both of his parents heroes but he knows his mother considers herself a villain) the heroes in the school were more accepting and welcoming to Conner because his father is GoldHeart, that was also another reason he hated him because GoldHeart was a corrupted hero and stood for everything he was against.

(He is a somewhat neutral Flug as he is friends with his mother.)

Meanwhile the students are more suspicious and untrustworthy of him because of his parents and he had to work extremely hard to earn their respect.

Connor is also somewhat more likeable and popular amongst the other students due to his friendly and easygoing personality while people are afraid of him due to his serious and intimidating personality.

He also hates Connor, because despite not taking heroing seriously, and also doing villain activities on the side, he is able to excel hero training through is strategic thinking during team hero missions and leading them to victory.

Hence, he often tries to out due him in everything. As well as make it a point to after him whenever he can while he is doing villainous activities. He is often annoyed at his trolling and crazy hero-villain antics which drive him crazy.

Eventually both of them will get along and balance each other out. Connor will become more serious while Red Sun, will learn to loosen up, making him a better leader

As well as putting his ego aside, for the success of the heroes as a whole, even though he is not the one bringing it (such as being part of of Connor's crazy plans and ideas) and eventually learning that the world was not as black and white as he thought so and needs to adapt to it in order to succeed and achieve his goals.

AITA for causing a mayor to become an atheist over a prank?

For context, I live near five villages. They are heavily religious. I went to one and got kicked out, and was pretty bitter about it. However, during my stay, I did learn the workings of this village, and about the religion and hierarchy followed by all of them. After being kicked out, I met a wise old woman on my travels and found out about an upcoming eclipse.

I thought, “hey, wouldn’t it be funny to use this to make them abandon religion?”

I travelled, and found the four other villages living beside a lake (the fifth lives separately, near a gorge). One of their members took me in, and I delivered the knowledge of the eclipse to their healers, who didn’t seem to take me seriously. However, the youngest healer seemed to believe me, and brought his young siblings with them and asked me for more information. So, I went along with it and pretended to know everything because it was funny. Then, they asked me to guide them and promised to hide me out somewhere near their village and bring me food. I thought it would be funny, still, so I agreed.

Until we ran into some guards from another village. They asked who I was, and I thought it would be way funnier to prank a whole village rather than some kids, so I decided to go with them. Well, turns out their mayor was doubting their religion, and when the eclipse came, he thought I caused it and abandoned his religion because of me!

Some kids tried to fake a sign from their heaven to turn him back and get rid of me, but it turned out to be a real sign and he ended up driving me out. I thought it was pretty funny, but no one else seemed to.

Have been wondering for a bit, since it flew completely off my radar for all of the time it was happening. What was/is Blaseball? Like I know from wikipedia that it was a baseball horror game (?) but it really gives no impression of like. What was it like, what was so special abt it?

blaseball was, at its core, a cosmic horror baseball simulator, with some kind of TTRPG-adjacent aspects. it’s… hard to describe. in so many ways it was something you needed to be there for. but i can try!

there were 24 (originally 20) teams, based in both real (Seattle, Tokyo, Boston, etc) and fake (Atlantis, Hellmouth, Hades) locations. seasons lasted a week. games played out every hour on the hour starting at 7:00am PST on Monday and running until 99 games had completed. games were played out under various weathers, such as Solar Eclipse and Feedback, that could impact the players or the game at random. the postseason played out on Friday evening and Saturday. election results occurred on Sunday.

elections were the big interactive portions of blaseball. throughout the week fans could bet in-game money on the outcomes of games. you could then use that money to buy votes. the votes were used to either vote on Decrees, which were rule/game changes (decided by popular vote) or to try to improve your team through Blessings or Wills (decided via raffle). these could do anything from buffing a player to stealing a player from another team to giving your entire team a specific blood type to killing off your least-idolized player and replacing them with a new one to… any other number of things. this forced a kind of collaborative community effort because teams would prioritize certain things and try to steer their fans toward putting their votes toward those things to increase the odds of their team getting picked in the raffle.

the community was the big thing about blaseball and it’s why it’s kind of hard to explain what it was really like now that it’s over. every blaseball player was just a name and a randomly generated collection of stats. the community gave every one of these players personalities and stories and lives. the teams had their own lore and “personalities” as well, kinda. different teams prioritized different things and had their own team culture. some teams were really stat-focused, some were really insular, some were more heavily into lore and narrative.

i think i will tell you the story of The Resurrection of Jaylen Hotdogfingers. i’ll try to keep it brief. (it will not be brief, i’m so sorry)

in season one, the Seattle Garages are not a very good team. their lone bright spot is their ace, 4-star pitcher Jaylen Hotdogfingers, who is the best pitcher in the league. (she is also mayor of Seattle.)

at the end of season one, the fans vote for the Decree to open the Forbidden Book. why? obviously, because it is Forbidden. (this is the first but not last time blaseball fans ran headfirst toward consequences just because they could.) this has several very immediate consequences, one of which was the incineration of Jaylen Hotdogfingers. this is the first ever incineration. it is permadeath. moving forward, any games played under the solar eclipse weather carry the risk of a player being randomly incinerated and replaced with a new, randomly generated player. the Garages lose a lot of players to incineration in the early seasons, which combined with Jaylen’s targeting give rise to a significant “fuck the gods” sentiment amongst the fans.

as per Garages lore, Jaylen’s final words before she was incinerated were “we’ve just gotta make it to the playoffs.”

seasons pass. the Garages are still bad but getting better, slowly. they win a couple pitching blessings, which helps a little. one of the other Garages pitchers is a guy named Mike Townsend. he’s… pretty bad. definitely no Jaylen. Mike gets unfairly scapegoated for the team’s struggles, to the point where there is a real actual real-life song called “Mike Townsend (Is A Disappointment)” written about him by Garages fans. (this starts The Garages the band, which now has like 20+ albums and hundreds of songs. they are on Spotify.)

going into season 6, a new site feature is introduced. fans can choose to idolize a player and then they can earn passive income whenever that player strikes someone out or hits a home run or whatever. cool! partway through the season, a player for the Boston Flowers, Caligula Lotus, is incinerated. Caligula is a popular player, and quite a few fans had her idolized. one of those fans noticed that, rather than having the option to now idolize a new player, they are still idolizing Caligula even after her death, which means they can still see her player page. prior to this, players who were incinerated were just… gone. no way to access them anymore.

the player goes to report the bug. they are informed that this is not a bug.

about 15 minutes later, someone from another team, the Canada Moist Talkers, comes into the Garages channel of the blaseball Discord. they drop a link to Jaylen’s player page with just the message “we know how to get her back.”

one of the Blessings that season was a Blessing called Lottery Pick. this would allow the winning team to steal the 14th most idolized player in the league. (the top 20 players are visible on an idol leaderboard.)

Jaylen’s page had a button that allowed her to be idolized.

all hell breaks loose in the Garages channels (and throughout the rest of the Discord as word gets out). the thought is this: with some coordination, Jaylen can be moved into the 14th spot on the leaderboard. this will, theoretically, allow the team who wins the Lottery Pick to steal Jaylen from… wherever she is. (her team is listed simply as “Null Team.”)

the Garages close their channels to visitors briefly to discuss amongst themselves whether or not they want to attempt this (the Garages mantra is “the Garage is always open,” so closing the channels is a huge deal). it’s a HUGE, fairly contentious, discussion. there’s, obviously, a million things that can go wrong. a different team could win the Lottery Pick. Jaylen could get bumped out of #14 last minute. no one knows if it’s even possible to steal a dead player (and if it is, there will DEFINITELY be consequences). other teams are interested in potentially resurrecting former players, too, but the overarching league-wide sentiment is “first in, first out” - if the Garages decide they want to try and get Jaylen back, they get first crack at it, so the Garages HAVE to come to a decision.

no matter what, SOMEONE is going to push the button. Jaylen has, by this point, already made her way onto the leaderboard. the Garages fans decide “well, someone’s committing necromancy; might as well be us.” they inform the league they’re going for it and everyone starts strategizing to hold Jaylen at #14. some fans of other teams switch teams temporarily to the Garages just to put votes into the Lottery Pick blessing in order to increase the Garages’ chances of winning.

meanwhile, the Garages (the blaseball team)? actually having a pretty good season for once! they manage to make it into the playoffs for the first time (“we’ve just gotta make it to the playoffs”). they sweep the Philly Pies (two-time champions) and the Hades Tigers (two-time champions) to make it to the Internet Series (where they are then swept by the Baltimore Crabs, but that’s okay).

fan sentiment on Mike Townsend has also shifted by this point. he’s still not very good but he’s become beloved. fans mostly find his terrible pitching kind of endearing. there is a new song about him called “Mike Townsend (Is A Credit to the Team).” the song contains the line “your redemption arc is coming up.”

the morning of the elections comes. Jaylen is still firmly at #14 on the leaderboard. all anyone can do is wait for the results.

the Garages win the Lottery Pick, with 58% of the vote.

Jaylen returns to the Garages. as was the case with other similar Blessings which stole a player from elsewhere in the League, Jaylen replaces the worst player on the team for her position (pitcher).

the Garages’ worst pitcher is Mike Townsend.

usually, in a situation where a player is stolen from an active team, it would just be a player swap. however, Null Team is not an active team and Mike cannot be sent there, so instead, Mike is sent to the Shadows. at this point, the Shadows are a mostly-unknown and inaccessible site feature. he’s not DEAD, but he’s no longer on the Garages’ active roster. within an hour there is a song called “Mike Townsend (Knows What He’s Gotta Do)” about Mike getting Jaylen back for the team.

his redemption arc.

Jaylen’s return gives her a status called “Debted” that simply says “this player must fulfill a Debt.” no one knows what it means. probably it will be bad (it is). in the moment, it doesn’t matter. Jaylen is safe. she’s home. it’s a victory against the gods, against the Peanut. (the Peanut is a whole other story.)

this is not even close to the end of Jaylen’s story, or Mike’s, but this is more than long enough. and this is just one story - a big one, since it had a wider impact on the narrative, but every team had hundreds of stories like this. about big things, about small things. they took a random number generator and spun it into an infinite amount of stories. they made narratives out of spreadsheets.

it really, truly sucks that it’s gone.

I mentioned this on a previous post but it would be great if you could post lists of how various leaders lost all of their lives in the rewrite to keep track of the lives. I do think it's odd how in canon leaders not named Mistystar don't really live longer than their non-leader counterparts without an explanation that they are considered Ok to kill in battle by the code and/or it being fairly common for certain deaths to take multiple lives. I would love if your rewrite justified some of the earlier deaths like Firestar, Brokenstar, Bluestar to some extent without relying on contrived coincidences of them just getting absurdly unlucky with dying while other cats are likely to avoid death. (Maybe with Firestar in particular he lost multiple lives in the fox trap? And Hawkfrost is keeping track when he oks the DF plan to kill him). So I'd love to see just a list of who lost what lives where.

Honestly, I don't want to make a hard list because I don't want to be beholden to it while I'm still rewriting stuff. All that's required of the plot at certain moments is, "Leader has X amount of lives left" unless they've been an important POV in previous arcs

Plus it would be a lot of effort and planning to make a list of 9 deaths for the nearly 10 leaders who have been on-screen through the arcs, only for me to end up ignoring the 90+ situations I made because something else works better.

Generally though, a leader WILL burn through their lives fast because that is why StarClan gives them! They aren't supposed to (canon bramblestar) lay around doing nothing with them. A Clan's Star must be at EVERY major battle, helping with every sickness outbreak, throwing themselves into danger without a second thought.

Contrast this to Stonetellers! They have a fantastic new equivalent Leader Power, complete immunity to illness and direct communication with ancestral spirits, but this is perfect for their culture where battles are frowned on. Stonetellers are not supposed to be throwing themselves into chasms, hunting sheep, or involved in political affairs beyond sharing their advice.

The life system was born out of the bloody warfare of the First Battle, and exists to encourage Leaders to be their Clan's strongest, most understanding warrior, unafraid to involve themself in the daily dangers in the lives of their cats.

In the AU after defeating LBD + the proposal; Wukong and Macaque ran off to "celebrate" out of sight/earshot of the kids and the others celebrating the victory. They then had a very frank discussion on planning for more kids now that LBD was gone. They decide to keep these plans quiet until after the wedding

MK is def the kid who tells his parents to "save it for the Honeymoon!" and sprays them with a water bottle when Shadowpeach starts getting flirty.

Later the two parents likely only learn about the arriving Triplets after the events of the Brotherhood. Wukong just blinks, turns on Gold Vision and... whoops. Three for One deal. XD

With Eclipse gone (with best case scenario turned into a wet floor bot, I don't want to accept his death! 😭) And the corrupt police chief being dead.

Does a new gang take over to where the vigilante still has to remain as a vigilante. Or is technically the city clean now, with the Afton group gone, that the detective/ vigilante could just start fixing the city with Mayor Fazbear?

There's still plenty of corruption and illegal activities going around so the vigilante and the detectives still have their work cut out for them. It's gonna take a lot more than just taking out Eclipse's gang to clean up the city.

I have an idea for a continuation of Sleuth Jesters involving the Funtime animatronics and how that gang will tangle up our trio with the nasty parts of their past, but I don't have any solid plans for writing it yet. One day, hopefully.

Random question(s) from a thought. I know HCFIQ Eclipse can drive and Heavenly can’t, but can the Celestial twins drive? And if so, do either of them like driving? What roads would they like to drive on (curvy, straight, uphill, downhill, lots of turns, no turns, etc. etc.)? Do they get motion sickness (yes I know they’re robots but still)? Do they like to listen to music while riding/driving?

How do they handle someone else driving? Do they prefer a safer driver or one who takes a bit of risk? How safe do they like to drive? Do they race down the streets if possible without being caught or drive casually? Do they prefer riding up front or in the back? Limousine-like car or personal vehicle for just the two of them plus some weapons? How much trust do they place in another driver?

Same for Eclipse?

Anyways just some thoughts.

(Sorry for throwing a load of questions at you all at once, but driving is something that a lot of people feel differently about. How one approaches driving can speak volumes just as much as how one dresses and how one talks.)

Alright, I dedicated THOUGHT to this one. Including some lore that isn't shown in the fic, but I have notes about for some reason ^^; (i went digging y'all)

This is a whole schpeal;

Alright, obviously in the TFP AU, they obviously can't drive. But, in the original, as mentioned, Eclipse had gotten his custom car around the time he became chief, as a gift. Around this time, Sun and Moon are freshly recovering from the burning of the Daycare. Looking for Eclipse, wondering where he disappeared off to, and like...it took them a week or so since they weren't familiar with the layout of the city and were very paranoid, but it was the day he received his car. Can you imagine that? Seeing your older brother who abandoned you, finely dressed, in a position of power, not a scratch on him, and the mayor heartily gifting him the keys to a fashionable car? Just ignore the fact that his rays are shrunken in, fear and haunt shadowing his exhausted posture, the man is living fat while you're shivering homeless and near decommissioned where you stood.

So, naturally, Sun and Moon, when they're at their positions of powers, in their flashy clothes and riches, they, of course, splurged on vehicles. They have more than one, actually they have five. Each brother has one flashy fancy car and a more discrete car. Then the fifth one is a limousine that both of them can use. They're all animatronic grade cars, so if they (begrudgingly) have a human associate in one of their vehicles, they're guaranteed to make fun of them for not fitting properly.

They're an animatronic only syndicate. The brothers have a very clear vision for what they want to stand for in this mafia, of which then they have very heavy biases for animatronics. Protocol Free animatronics come from hard lives, as the Celestial brothers have, and they have banded together on that fact alone. Yes, they trust them to drive them places. They also have learned how to drive, purely to spite Eclipse.

I wouldn't call it motion sickness, but when they first started out, they were very scared. This is around their ascension, so they couldn't really show it, but the twins were shook. Now, they sometimes flaunt their wealth and power with their cars if they're moving downtown to wherever, if it's not important. If it is, they'll use the discrete vehicles, but the interiors are very lavish. They take their time driving, never in a hurry, both with tastes of music playing on the radio. If they're late to a meeting with outside associates (who are usually human), they'll taunt them about what they'd do about it. The cars, aside from animatronic treats and drinks, are of course, stashed with weapons.

Eclipse is a different story. He owns one car and does his best to preserve the mint condition, since it is a gift from a kind friend who wishes well for him. He was a nervous wreck learning how to drive, almost refusing help before, but later had asked helped from said friend, and learned a lot more efficiently. He didn't really get to properly enjoy driving it, really using it to get from his old apartment to work. That was, until he started taking you to missions and meetings, because he'd take scenic routes just to explain things and watch your eyes light up and ask your small questions.
