MCAT is trending on twitter because someone made a tweet like “would u rather try to score a penalty kick, make a free throw, or pass the MCAT” and so many people are choosing the MCAT and even coming from the perspective of someone who is clinically incompetent at athletics, id genuinely rather hang myself than ever take the MCAT again DFGHDGFH these people are insane

that finale made me so emotional. i cried at all of their scenes in Ankarna's realm. anyway, here's some bad kids senior year head canons.
Kristen: Her wish for a sister is filled by Bucky, crying in her room late at night and praying together. After talking to Jawbone they learn that there are grounds to remove Bricker and Cork from their parents' home. Kristen is the only one given the option of emancipation--instead, she asks Jawbone to adopt her as well.
She falls back onto old patterns with Tracker. But they're a little older and wiser, so they see it happening and take a step back. Not a break up, but a readjustment. With her academics finally not reliant on deadlines, Kristen dedicates herself to her pantheon. They work with Lucy to bring Ruvina back to her sister, and Kristen finds herself in awe of the dedication she sees.
Fig: She puts all her time into the Bottomless Pit, something it desperately needs. Often she tells Sandra-Lynn she's sleeping at Gilear's, and vice versa, and stays with Ayda instead. On her 18th birthday her parents sit her down and explain that she can live with Ayda officially, if she wants to. Just as long as she remembers she'll always have a room with both of them.
She brings Sandra-Lynn on Complicated Women, first to interview, and then as a permanent guest host. They talk about womanhood as something living and changing and queer and complicated. It's her mom who encourages her when Lola Embers drops Ruben. They rally all the rock-hating souls and cordon off part of the recording studio. Fig never goes in there, but from what she's heard, his music has gotten better in the absence of Kipperlilly's judgement.
Fabian: Somehow, he ends up being the one to train the new dog. The Hangman is jealous to a ridiculous degree, so he spends a lot of time managing that. He starts looking into a sea-worthy vessel for after graduation, spends hours at the Compass Points Library learning how to navigate. Learning sea shanties is part of all that, of course, and has nothing to do with the way his baby sibling stares at him while he practices.
Mazey teaches dance to kids while he finishes school. She's so kind it almost hurts, and Fabian has no choice but to learn to accept love. He "lets" Gorgug skip Bloodrush under the condition of weekly movie nights, which only sometimes are expanded to the rest of the Bad Kids. The radio in his room crackle to life sometimes, with little messages from Bill when he's close enough to the material plane.
Riz: Appointed as vice president, he quits all but the AV club. He makes a bedtime pact with Sklonda, and for the first time in a very long time, they are both getting enough sleep. Someone mentions ace and aro identities to him, and he's awake enough for it click.
He finds a new scholarship for Aguefort students, and it looks scam-y so he does some investigating. It easily traces right back to Seacaster gold and Fabian. He's thankful for the cover and accepts the money with an understanding that they won't talk about it. He doesn't check, but the scholarship is offered every year after that.
Adaine: She spends the summer with Aelwyn tracking down their mom. She doesn't need revenge, but she needs to know her mom will never hurt anyone ever again. She feels Ankarna in the hot sun and wonders if that's the difference between revenge and justice. They take the long way back to Solace, the Hand-van paddling across the ocean.
When school starts, she works with Kristen to turn her inheritance into resources. Student who can pay for some of their components still do, but everyone gets what they need to learn. On the first day of class, she's asked about her summer prophecies, and tells off Tiberia for relying on her for lessons.
Gorgug: His senior year MCAT is signed on the first day by Lydia, who's teaching barbarian classes for the year. She gives him permission for independent study, and Henry gives him a shop key so he can do classwork whenever he wants. The rest of his time is spent perfecting Barbificer skills and creating a program to run at Aguefort the next year.
Mary Ann offers her quokky pet skills to help remodel his homonculous. The result is much cuter and more functional than before. She still names her highest level pet Cloaca in honor of the original, much to Gorgug's chagrin.
After graduation, the Bad Kids move in trios and pairs, and they always reconvene on the Summer Solstice, the anniversary of Ankarna's resurrection.
Kristen splits her time between Solace and Fallinel and Mountains of Chaos, the places where temples to her pantheon stand. Adaine and Riz rent an apartment in Bastion City, where they both continue school. Gorgug stays in Elmville, teaching at Aguefort and working on the side to start his own school. Fabian takes to the sea, bringing Fig and Ayda and Mazey with him.
They save the world again, a few times, but only when they want to.

🚨SPOILERS FOR FANTASY HIGH JUNIOR YEAR EPISODE 7🚨
Dimension20 "Fantasy High Junior Year"
Episode 7 "Stress Tested"
Timestamp: 00:42:47
Video Length: 4min. & 20sec.
Gorgug's NAT20s in Artificer Class!!!
Brennan: "Who else is rolling?"
Zac: "I think I know that I would be doing Academics."
Brennan: "Cool. I think we're gonna burn through all four of your academic tracks all at once right now."
Zac: "Now, help me out with the math of like, does it help me to do the easiest Artificer class at the five or should I?"
Brennan: "You're gonna do all three Artificers in a row."
Zac: "Okay."
Brennan: "It's basically do you wanna do all three Artificers first and Barbarian last or do you wanna do Barbarian first and then all three Artificers?"
Zac: "I think I'll do Artificers first."
Murph: "Yeah, you probably want lower DC for Artificer, right?"
Zac: "Yeah."
Brennan: "Great. You can do Arcana, Tinker's Tools or Investigation."
Zac: "I'll do Tinker's Tools. It's much better than the others."
Brennan: "Hell yeah. Go for it."
Zac: "Okay, so first Artificer class." *rolls* "Okay, that's a 21."
Brennan: "21. As the weeks go along, you dive in. Henry is here, all the other Artificer students. You're surrounded by robots and weird mists, in encounter suits and stuff like that."
Zac: "I'm giddy."
Brennan: "The freshman stuff, you get an A+. You put a ****ing satellite in the sky. You are an accomplished Artificer. And if you think about, how many Artificer levels does Gorgug have? You have like five, right?"
Zac: "Now five. Yeah."
Brennan: "Think about the fact that you ended freshman year at level eight. You get it. So, A+ in freshman Artificing."
Lou: "All right. All right."
Zac: "Okay."
Brennan: "Let's go round two. DC jumps up by five. Same check."
Zac: "Okay. Okay." *rolls* "That is a 13."
Brennan: "Will allow you to pass sophomore Artificer with a C."
Zac: "Okay."
Murph: "You have a bardic, right?"
Zac: "Oh. Oh!"
Lou: "You also have two more levels of class you need to just pass."
Zac: "I might take a stress token."
Brennan: "Take a little stress token." *evilly smiling 😭😭✋✋*
Zac: "Do another."
Ally: "Is a C okay though?"
Siobhan: "C is okay. C's get degrees."
Zac: "Is C okay?"
Brennan: 😬🫤
Lou: "It's not a D. It could have been a D."
Siobhan: "You could re-roll and get worse."
Murph: "Yeah, that's true."
Zac: "Oh gosh. My roll is six. I'll take one stress token."
Lou: "Ooh"
Ally: *claps*
The awesome caption team: (tense bass)
Brennan: "Gorgug takes our first stress token. I'm so happy." *evilly smiling 😭*
The awesome caption team: (Zac groaning)
Ally: "We gotta get you the MCAT, Gorgug."
Brennan: "We'll resolve what the stress...like we're all gonna meet all of you when we come outta downtime to see how ****ing fried you all are. So we'll resolve what happens with those at the end. Go ahead and re-roll."
Zac: *rolls*
Emily: *sighs*
Ally: "Worse?"
Zac: "It's a Nat 1."
Brennan: "Nat 1. Okay."
Zac: "Now, so what happens if I take a second stress token?"
Brennan: "That would be the final one you can take for this roll."
Zac: "Okay, I'll do that."
Brennan: "Cool, stress. Here you go." *evilly smiling*
Lou: "So when you take a stress token, it obliterates?"
Brennan: "It obliterates the previous roll."
Lou: *gasps* "Oh boy."
Ally: "Ohhh. It's not advantage."
Zac: "Okay." *Rolls* "Nat20!"
Siobhan: *gasps*
Brennan: "Yes! OMG!"
Gorgug: "I'm getting it!"
Zac: "Oh!"
Brennan: "You unlock a ****ing... we'll have to deal with that. We'll talk at the break. But that is ****ing huge."
Ally: "Wow!"
Brennan: "A+, nat20. Also, Gorgug, you unlock an academic resource which will come into play..." *shrugs* "later this season. I'll also talk to you about that secretly."
Siobhan: "Whoa!"
Brennan: "And it's up to you whether you would tell your classmates or not."
Lou: "All right."
Brennan: "Holy 💩. Okay, two stress tokens. You got it. A+."
Ally: "Wow. Yeah, worth it, honestly."
Brennan: "Gorgug is gonna be ****ing fried at the end of this." *laughs 😭* "Now You're gonna do your Junior Year Artifice."
Zac: "Okay."
Brennan: "The DC has jumped up by 10. So just passing, a D is a 15. Right?"
Zac: "Okay."
Brennan: "And then an A would be a 27."
Zac: "And I don't get anything from the nat20 in terms of my roll, right?"
Brennan: "I'll say with a nat20, I'll give you advantage on this roll. You roll this with advantage."
Zac: "It doesn't hurt to ask, you know?"
Brennan: "It doesn't hurt to ask."
Emily: "Just gotta ask."
Brennan: "Go for it."
Zac: "All right. Hello, fellow Juniors." *rolls* "Another Nat 20."
Brennan: "Nat20?!?!?!"
Everyone going wild with cheers and claps
Brennan: "What the ****?!"
Lou: "He's an Artificer."
Siobhan: "He's the greatest wizard ever born!" (The caption team missed this amazing line Siobhan said! 😭✋)
Ally: "Gorgug! Gorgug! You're listening to 'The Beats to Study To.'"
Lou: "Yes."
Ally: "That girl with her cat. You're just like, 'Yeah.'"
Zac: "I'm so chilled."
Lou: "I pay her to come by."
Brennan: "Oh my ****ing ***."
Lou: "She sits in the window."
Emily: "Yeah!"
Zac: "School's easy."
Ally: "Dude, you're killing it! You're killing it!"

ellie, please share your tips on learning biology.
haha i’m so stoked by this ask bc i used to DREAM of having a studyblr account when i was in college 🤣 i’ll try to give sort of unconventional tips that helped me study
tbh practice practice practice was most helpful for any calculus, biochem (at least for rxn & pathway diagrams), physics or ochem that i had to take, but not so much for bio since it’s mostly memorization (but it depends on the professor/class i guess)
1. use anki/quizlet & incorporate it into your morning routine (ex 20 flashcards while eating breakfast)
2. have your friends quiz you. make it funn like if you don’t answer correctly within 30 secs they get to hit you with a pillow or you have to take a shot of something gross
3. repetition is key for memorization, most importantly spaced repetition! studying the night before for a bio test is academic suicide and WILL make you want to dropout lmfaooo
4. for bio, i think the kaplan mcat prep book is decent and summarizes most of the systems of the body pretty well. even if you’re not planning on taking the mcat, it’s handy to have
5. to prep for any frq type exams, just read a lecture, write down headers for topics onto a sheet of paper, then immediately after reading it just try to write down everything you can remember for that topic within like a minute.
6. draw diagrams!! this was so useful when learning ab diff systems like circulatory, respiratory etc. just draw a gigantic diagram, and annotate the actual diagram w your notes. that way your brain ties the visual to the words, and it all becomes easier to picture in your head when you’re taking your exam
7. with any study tip/strategy, i think its important to include a component of “stress” or “stakes” to mimic the exam environment, whether that be some sort of light punishment, time constraint, resource constraint etc so that on actual test day, you’ve sort of primed yourself into feeling comfortable with the material despite your anxiety, which can really help give you an advantage
8. if you don’t feel like studying, set a two min timer and start. most of the time, you’ll keep going even after those two mins are up
9. convince yourself you’re in love w someone in your lecture hall so you wanna go to class
sorry this was more generic tips rather than bio-specific but i think these tips work BEST for any type of memorization subject such as bio
okay back to jjk brainrot

extremely cool to see so many humanities + social sciences folks with a side of STEM, shoko would be so proud of us. as an anthro premed + mph first gen girlie, i strongly encourage those anons to keep on going!! it’s pain and hell but i was overall happier with this track and holding those diplomas felt SO GOOD
and honestly as someone who has helped their friends w med school apps+ interviews, those who were humanities and social science majors were just as successful (if not more lolol) than the stem majors. sure adcoms might like the ‘well-roundedness’ element but tbh i also think it’s not just because it’s ‘oh so unique’ but you could tell they were pursuing/studying something they genuinely were interested in. we like to think of medicine as purely empirical or objective but it’s such a wonderful blend of arts and science. one of my good friends was a performing arts/drama major and is finishing her last year of med school; she swears that her degree has helped her with patient communication and getting to know them more! it doesn’t get more humanistic than that imho
tldr we need more medical doctors with a background/vested interest in the humanities and social science. as cliche as it sounds do what you love and that’ll shine through. gl to that anon studying for the MCAT, you got this! and i’d be happy to help and connect anyone w MCAT resources and med school app stuff (which I’ll be going through in a few months pain. it’s def a journey)
sorry for the rant but was just so nice to see all your anons doing great things (and gl to you with grad school apps!)
NESSA YES!!!! i forgot you were ALSO premed anthro!!!!!! love my premed anthro friends <3333 so so proud of you <3333 i agree it might be a little harder but a lot of my friends do not regret pursuing their passion in undergrad and being in the premed track at the same time. i hope you're also doing well and taking care of yourself!!!!!

A tragic irony in the dismissal of reason, evidence, and excellence among DEI acolytes is that it’s almost certain to inflict the highest toll on the patients DEI ostensibly seeks to help.
Medical schools have eagerly embraced the DEI (diversity, equity, and inclusion) agenda, which has supplanted merit and excellence. Common sense says that’s a mistake, and a new study makes the folly of that decision clearer than ever.
The study, published in the Journal of the American Medical Association on May 6, observes that among newly trained hospitalists, scores on the certification exam of the American Board of Internal Medicine certification are positively associated with better outcomes among hospitalized Medicare beneficiaries. Specifically, patients assigned to internists who scored in the top quartile on the exam were 8 percent less likely to die within one week of hospital admission than were patients assigned to internists who scored in the bottom quartile. Patients assigned to the highest-scoring internists were also 9.3 percent less likely to be readmitted within one week of discharge than were patients assigned to the lowest-performing internists.
Together with past research indicating that students who score higher on the MCAT (the medical-school entrance exam) tend to score higher on licensure exams, the study in JAMA is a clear and unsurprising indication that brighter doctors make for better doctors. If logic and wisdom reigned, the findings would be heard as a clarion call for medical schools to abandon the DEI agenda and redirect medical-school admissions to a central focus on merit and excellence.
Unfortunately, however, DEI stalwarts have captured most medical schools and medical institutions, so the findings are almost sure to be ignored. Flagrant and recurrent dishonesty and factual sloppiness among identity-obsessed zealots expose that DEI is, rather than a mission to advance standards of patient care through reason and evidence, a political crusade seeking to exact “justice” against perceived systemic problems in American society, consequences be damned.
A tragic irony in the dismissal of reason, evidence, and excellence among DEI acolytes is that it’s almost certain to inflict the highest toll on the patients whom DEI ostensibly seeks to help. Consider, for example, the case of the UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine. The school has gone so far in abandoning merit in favor of racial considerations that “up to half of UCLA medical students now fail tests of basic competence.”
Prestigious, resource-rich hospitals and clinics would have good reason to steer clear of UCLA graduates. Likely, they will disproportionately work in clinics and hospitals that treat economically disadvantaged patients. In light of the findings of the JAMA study, it’s a recipe for exacerbating health disparities.
Similarly bad logic was displayed in a recent hearing that the Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions Committee held on “minority health care professionals and the maternal mortality crisis.” Committee chairman Bernie Sanders (I., Vt.) emphatically asserted that racial disparities in health are explained by the demographic composition of the physician workforce and that more doctors from “underrepresented” groups are needed. The solution, according to Sanders, is “to substantially increase the class sizes of Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs).”
Sanders is wrong in both his diagnosis of the problem and his solution for fixing it. The idea that patients benefit from racially concordant care is a myth. Patients do best with highly capable doctors, not ones who happen to share the same race. To that end, expanding enrollment in HBCU medical schools is a remarkably foolish solution for addressing health disparities. The four HBCU medical schools (Howard, Morehouse, Meharry, and Charles Drew University School of Medicine) feature some of the lowest admissions standards among all medical schools in the country. The results of expanding their enrollment to address health disparities are all too predictable.
In medical-school admissions, the case for excellence over identity couldn’t be more obvious. When DEI wins, everyone loses.
==
DEI is a luxury belief.

lil update
hello everyone!
long time no see. almost a year, actually. a lot has changed since then!!
in true kai fashion i got really sick during my senior year and ended up in the hospital. but this was the time!!!! i finally got the medical care that i needed and it has changed my life.
i wrote my thesis and presented it at three conferences. no prize except the immense satisfaction that i beat the odds and did it!!!! and had fun! and my final semester ended with a really high 4.0 gpa which was something i felt i would never be capable of again.
i did not get accepted into any of the masters programs i applied for. i applied while in the hospital, one of my references ghosted me, it was all around a bad time. and of course when i didn't get in, it felt like the world was ending. i have made school my identity my entire life, so how would i function without it?
over the course of my degree i failed two courses. one of them i failed three times. i retook the one i had failed multiple times over the summer even though i obviously no longer needed it to convocate (it got cut from my program requirements). i finished with a 4.0 and that was enough to bring my cgpa up enough to apply to med school, my dream!!
i could not apply to med yet because i could not afford to. med school applications are so cost prohibitive and i did not qualify for assistance for the mcat fees yet. so realistically that puts me at least two years out from medical school. i look at it as an opportunity to work and gain insight into what i may get myself into.
so i started a full time job as a clinical research coordinator at a medical clinic. i'm still new but i'm learning so much and i'm so excited about everything!
in my free time i have also been super busy. i've been advocating for long term mental healthcare for quite a while, but a friend and i actually started our own nonprofit organization that runs peer support groups and stuff. i'm also on an advisory committee for a mental healthcare resource being constructed where i live. and i've been volunteering for other local orgs to give back when they've given me so much. on the flip side, i've been heavily involved in 2slgbtq activism as well!!! i have spoken at events and i created a whole project that has taken off. i am also on the wait list for my top surgery, and should have it within the year!
i'm going to start studying for the mcat pretty soon so i will likely pop back online then. i am currently enrolled in one first year sociology course as a study strategy (it is the only course i didn't take that is on the mcat). but studying for that has not been happening. i am so thankful i didn't get accepted to do a masters because i need this distance from school right now.
there is life outside of school. you will reach your goals.
happy fall everybody. :)

Almost a year to the day after first asking @its-sixxers if I could print out and bind Half Light (after figuring out how one actually does that), I've finally finished it!!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
She's 825 pages long, has some of the early pages warped from glue, and blood (?) staining the text block, and I am so excited to fall in love with Nines and Mary all over again. Thanks for letting me do this, it's been a really rewarding project and I got a new hobby out of it!!!
Please go read Half Light and everything else Six has written, she is immensely talented. Mary is my favourite character in Bloodlines bar none and reading her story endeared me to VTMB when the game itself did not. Six's Fallout works are also masterpieces, and I haven't checked out her newer stuff with Elder Scrolls but I fully intend to because even if I've never touched a Skyrim game in my life, I know I'm going to adore it too!
More info about the process under the cut.
SeaLemon was an invaluable resource starting out here because I barely know how to sew and I had no idea how to approach the actual construction of a book. I'm gonna plug her right off the bat because she's very beginner-friendly if anyone else wants to learn.
But before all of that I had to format everything in Word! Chapter by chapter I copied the text over from the downloadable PDF from AO3 and would scan through the fic to ensure the formatting was correct (italicization, bolding, paragraph breaks, etc). I'd do this for about an hour at a time over the course of a couple months, until I decided to do the rest of it all at once after one March night at 10PM where I decided to learn how to bind it all, because fuck it, why not. (Answer: I was freaked out about my upcoming departmental talk and this seemed like a good distraction).
Tumblr media
Printing all of it just on regular printer paper (don't know if I'd do that again in the future, but it's what I had on hand) it ended up being 52 signatures, or collections of 16 pages (4 pieces of paper) folded in half. Pierced holes in all of those using an awl and an old phonebook to hold the pages open, and then used my old embroidery thread to sew them together. This part took me maybe two days because I was just so damn pumped about it lmao. I also don't have any kind of bookpress to weight down the pages, so I had made due with old textbooks and MCAT prep material.
Tumblr media
It stayed this way for LITERAL MONTHS as I gathered all the other supplies - chipboard and brushes from my local craft store, PVA glue online, and by far the hardest part was fabric. I've since learned that you can make your own fabric using book cloth and basically anything you want (if I had known this book would have been coated in red silk I swear) but for now I just wanted to be sure it was something designed for this purpose, as the woman at Fabric Land assured me it needed something specialized. So binder's buckram! Took a while to find something local and the color selection was pretty limited, I was hoping for a dark red or a dark blue but the green was the best they had in stock. Took even longer to get here. And by that point I had enough going on that it fell by the wayside until uh.... last week.
I glued the spine, again realizing that maybe I should've just made my own bookpress but powering through with textbooks to hold things in place, and let that sit for a couple days to fully dry. Ideally it would be flat, but beggars cannot be choosers. Gave her a lil ribbon too.
Tumblr media
Not pictured because I forgot, the final text block with black construction paper glued to it to form the inside cover (would probably use something thicker/crisper in the future, something more like cardstock perhaps?). But then it came to putting the cover together! And that was just cutting chipboard to fit and gluing it correctly onto the fabric, leaving gaps around the spine.
Tumblr media
Let that dry, and then I glued the text block in and let everything sit for just over 24h, again with makeshift weights to prevent the fabric warping (it's the second book from the bottom).
Tumblr media
And then tada! Finished book! (This one's from before it was pressed but it looks the same now)

All in all extremely cool to hold in my hands and I look forward to the next fic that makes me this insane. If I get permission to do The Sun Is Now Fading I might take a crack at that and make a little set! Follow your dreams and one day you too will be able to take notes in the margins of your favourite Vampire the Masquerade fic.

sorry if you've answered this before but if you don't mind i have an mcat question. i'm starting my studying now, and i wanted to know how you spread out your content review? did you study a little bit from different sections throughout the week, or did you do all the content review for one section before moving onto the next? and if you don't mind sharing what resources you used, it would be much appreciated. good luck with your application and interview processes!
omg hi fellow mcat taker!
Tumblr media
DISCLAIMERS
i have not gotten my score back yet, and honestly i don't feel i performed my best when i took the exam (performance anxiety is Real and it Exists within me @_@) i'm likely going to be studying again to retake - which i accounted for when i began my studies! - so take all my advice with a grain of salt!
TIMELINE
i used a diagnostic to gauge my baseline score before diving into content review. from there i took the sporadic route -- i studied from different sections here & there! since i basically began studying right out of college, there was a good amount of info that i only needed a quick refresher on. i did some research on what previous test-takers said is usually high-yield and focused on those topics as well. about 2 months out i started taking practice FLs -- including my diagnostic, i took a total of 7 FLs prior to my test day with the last one being a week before d-day.
RESOURCES
FREE
Jack Westin is a great online resource. a lot of people recommend their site for CARS and i agree!
i dabbled in some Khan Academy modules from their MCAT course.
if i needed a visual/audio explanation of a concept i went to MCAT Self Prep's youtube channel.
if you lurk through reddit you can also find the MileDown anki deck which is great for active recall in all subjects.
PAID
i started off my content review with TPR's books (i've also heard of friends who used Kaplan's books!) but as time progressed i stopped using them to review and switched to online resources (see above).
as my test date got closer, i started using the sh!t out of UWorld. i got lucky and had a friend who no longer needed their subscription, but if you don't have similar connections i know those prices can get pretty steep. i do however highly recommend this resource because the qbank they have felt similar to the actual exam for me.
when doing FLs i used the ones included in my TPR purchase and then purchased AAMC Practice Exams to mimic the real thing.
TAKEAWAYS
honestly, looking back now i see how disorganized my studying was. but through conversations w other folks who have taken the mcat we've all agreed that you're constantly tweaking your study routine as the months progress. the biggest thing to take into account is your capacity for studying -- consider the amount of time, money, effort you can give to studying while also balancing your other obligations (like classes, work, extracurriculars... your own wellbeing) and move from there!
that was a lengthy response but i hope that answered your questions. if not or if you have more feel free to hmu! give yourself lots of grace when going through this -- you're not alone! a small blog in the abyss of tumblr (me. i'm the blog) is rooting for you :')

Key Services Offered by MBBS Study Abroad Consultants
Tumblr media
Pursuing an MBBS degree overseas is a thrilling prospect, but it can also be a difficult and intimidating procedure. With so many countries offering medical degrees, different admission requirements, and visa regulations to negotiate, students frequently experience difficulties when applying individually. MBBS study abroad experts play an important part in this situation. They provide expert guidance and comprehensive services to help streamline the application process and ensure a smooth journey from beginning to end. Let's look at the primary services provided by MBBS study abroad consultants to help prospective medical students achieve their ambition of studying medicine overseas.
1. Comprehensive counselling and career guidance
Making informed decisions is the first step in studying MBBS overseas. MBBS study abroad advisors provide personalized counseling sessions to help students select the best destination and university depending on their academic background, budget, and professional ambitions. They consider criteria such as the curriculum, teaching standards, course duration, and job chances, giving students a clear picture of their options.
2. University Selection and Application Assistance
Choosing the correct medical university is essential to a student's academic and career success. Consultants compile a list of the best medical universities overseas based on accreditation, global rating, costs, and student feedback. They also assist students with the university application process, ensuring that all forms are completely completed and that relevant documents, such as transcripts, recommendation letters, and personal statements, are submitted on time.
3. Entrance Exam Preparation Support
For many countries, admission to MBBS programs requires completing entrance examinations such as the MCAT, NEET (for Indian students), or university-specific exams. MBBS study abroad consultants assist students in preparing for these exams by giving access to test preparation resources, sample tests, and expert advice on how to improve performance.
4. Visa Assistance and Documentation
Securing a student visa is one of the most important tasks in studying abroad, and navigating visa regulations can be challenging. MBBS study abroad experts assist students in obtaining the required paperwork, such as proof of financial resources, acceptance letters, and health certifications. They also assist students with the visa application process, preparing them for embassy interviews and ensuring compliance with country-specific requirements.
5. Financial Guidance and Scholarship Assistance
Financing an MBBS degree overseas can be a significant problem for students and their families. Consultants provide information on the entire cost of studying in various countries, which includes tuition, housing, and living expenditures. They also assist students in exploring financial aid options such as scholarships, grants, and student loans. Some consultancies also have partnerships with banks, helping students to get better loan arrangements for their studies.
6. Pre-Departure Orientation
Preparing to study and live in a foreign country may be both thrilling and intimidating. To help with this adjustment, MBBS study abroad advisers provide pre-departure orientations in which students receive practical advice on cultural norms, local customs, climate, and safety. They also offer advice on packing, lodging options, and vital paperwork to bring along. This service helps students gain confidence and prepare for life in a new nation.
7. Accommodation and Travel Arrangements
Finding appropriate housing in a foreign country can be difficult, particularly for first-time international students. Many MBBS study abroad consultancies help students find safe and economical lodging near their preferred universities. They may also assist with travel plans, such as booking flights and coordinating airport pickups, to ensure a seamless arrival.
8. Post-Arrival Support
The role of an MBBS study abroad consultant continues once the student arrives at their destination. Post-arrival services include assisting students with university registrations, opening bank accounts, obtaining local SIM cards, and acquainting them with their new surroundings. This ongoing help guarantees that students may settle into their new nation without encountering any major difficulties over the first few weeks.
9. Legal and Regulatory Compliance
Medical education abroad consultants are up to date on the current rules and accreditation standards for overseas medical universities. They ensure that students only apply to recognized and accredited institutions, so safeguarding them from frauds and participation in low-quality programs. This legal skill is critical for students who want to practice medicine in their home country, as degrees from non-recognized institutions may be invalid.
10. Support for licensing and internship placements
Many MBBS graduates must pass licensing tests or perform internships before practicing medicine in their own country or abroad. Some MBBS study abroad consultants provide additional services such as assistance with licensing examinations like the United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE) or PLAB medical licensing examination (Professional and Linguistic Assessments Board) for practice in the United Kingdom. They may also help students secure internships and clinical assignments, which are essential for gaining hands-on experience and meeting residency requirements.
Conclusion
MBBS study abroad consultants offer a variety of services in addition to assisting students with their applications to medical institutions abroad. From counseling and admission exam preparation to visa aid and post-arrival support, they make sure that every stage of the study abroad adventure goes smoothly and stress-free. By collaborating with a reputable consultant, prospective medical students can concentrate on their studies and personal development while specialists handle the complications of their overseas education journey.
