Another smaller update just adding a little more to S. Ryder’s scene. I thought it ended a bit too abruptly so I just wanted to add that little bit more to it. Also, I apologize for the sloppy choices added into it; I had to put in the text choice itself to only pick it if your character is of a tall build because for some reason ChoiceScript was trying to read my code as a True or False statement even though it was:
*if mcbuild = (((“MT”) or (“TT”)) or ((“AT”)))
So yeah, I just gave up trying to fix the code and did the workaround of trusting the players to pick a choice that goes along with the build they chose near the beginning, so I apologize for that. For real this time though, I will be working on Elizabeth’s scene next.
Also, don’t forget to check the extra scenes menu at the end of the funeral scene in case you hadn’t already
I've decided to challenge myself to be creative in some way once a day, for as long as possible, with a minimum goal of the month of June. You know, for my mental health.
Includes:
Write
MCBuild
Draw
30 min exercise
(Practice is important)
Creative freestyle
(No rules)
Post Day
(No piece, only post)
Color based mood journal
5- star review
Details
I struggle with severe motivation and self confidence issues, and need some accountability for myself. Therefore along with my therapist, my partner and myself, I'm including the internet. (I'm sure this won't backfire. I have like 5 followers so…)
To strengthen my basic skills and smooth improvement, I will be including a simple 30 minute a day time period of practice based work.
Examples include:
Timed MC builds
Dialog prompts
Figure sketches
The main portion of this challenge is a no rules creative piece. It can be as low energy as a 5 block long path design in Minecraft, a haiku poem, or an eye design. It can be as high energy as a full colored comic, a full short story, or a large scale build. I could start a city build and not finish and that would be okay if I built it, it counts. I could draw a lamp-post, it counts.
To encourage posting at all (I'm so bad about it) I'm going to set Tuesdays aside to create and queue up posts.
I will be including a personal 5-star review of each piece on Tuesdays. I'll be looking at things that I can improve on, what I like, and comments on the process or the piece itself.
I have also added a color based mood journal for long-term benefits.
Positive interaction is encouraged!! (i need friends lol) I really do enjoy conversation, even if I'm out of practice, and i appreciate constructive, meaningful advice.
A couple of weeks ago I built an art museum in Minecraft for an art history final project. Just a heads up, it's going to be a long post. All of this was built in vanilla the only mod I was running was Optifine, I photoshopped the paintings on their panels later.
The museum is based off of my experiences at the Van Gogh and Monet Immersive Exhibits, so this first room would just be an informational bit about the Impressionist movement and the artists in the exhibit: Van Gogh, Monet, Morisot, Cassatt, Robinson, Frieseke, and Peterson.
The next two rooms are about the European Impressionists, Van Gogh, Monet, and Morisot. The smaller room at the end is meant to be like an immersive experience of some Van Gogh paintings, Bedroom in Arles and Wheatfield with Cypress though I made the cypress a little too wide.
The next two rooms are set up in a similar way to the European artists except for the paintings here were made by the American Impressionists, Cassatt, Robinson, Frieseke, and Peterson. The immersive room here is based on Frieseke's works The Hammock and Unraveling Silk.
And since this whole build was based on the Van Gogh and Monet Immersive experiences I felt like I had to include a little VR area.
The next set of screenshots is of a large immersive room in the center of the museum, here I tried to recreate several different Impressionist paintings.
I think the Impression, Sunrise wall turned out great and I love how the gradient continues on to Cafe at Night and Gare St Lazare.
And of course what kind of museum would this be if there wasn't a gift shop at the end.
And yeah, that's it, that's the build. It's literally just interior, didn't have the time to make a whole exterior and landscape it.
