Rewatching Medici and the scene in season 3 where Riario sends assassins after Clarice and their kids and in return Lorenzo just loses it is absolutely my favorite scene.

First he snaps at Bernardi for even suggesting that he NOT go after his family.

Then when he attacks the assassins and delivers the line, “he sends you into my home to kill my children and pregnant wife?”

AND PROCEEDS TO FIGHT THEM OFF WITH A CROSSBOW AND SENDS ONE ASSASSIN FLYING OUT A WINDOW.

In that scene, Lorenzo is the epitome of Fuck Around and Find out.

Currently thinking about how the portrait of Isabella de’Medici was transferred from wood panel to canvas and then altered to fit Victorian beauty standards by a man named Francis Needham so that a buyer would be more attracted to it, and hundreds of years later we only know what Isabella really looks like due to Ellen Baxter, the conservator of the Carnegie Museum of Art in Pennsylvania, discovering that the cracks in the painting were smaller than cracks in old canvas usually are, thus leading to the discovery of the Victorian version of photoshop done to her-

How Francesco had not legitimate claim for the Papal throne?

I know Francesco's mother was a lower class (and married) woman, and Catarina's mom also married but probably had higher rank than Frans.

And Alessandro mom said she was hailed from one of the oldest families in Italy. So, probably the highest ranked among the woman whom the previous pops slept, but they still can not married (for obvious reasons).

So, if the prev pops have the authority the legitimise his b@stard childrens, why he did not gave a right to Francesco to became his heir?

Or the old pop know what his son capable of with the power in his hands?

idk but omg ive been brainrotting over an asoiaf/game of thrones and ac crossover. like assassins striking fear in the hearts of the targaryen dynasty ever since maegor the cruel was found dead alone on the throne. i feel like things wouldve been better if someone just thought to unalive mad king aerys. but would that mean so many terrible lords suddenly getting assassinated and their decendants peer pressured to be decent rulers unless they meet the same fate dfkgjhgfj

Here’s a “Desmond sorta adopts Dany and Vis” idea.

Here’s a “Desmond turns into a White Dragon during HOTD” idea and the continuation.

So, for this one, we’re going for the Brotherhood exists in the ‘verse of asoiaf, right? In that scenario, we can make the Brotherhood become a more ‘honorable’ off-shoot of Faceless Men. We’ll probably need to change the backgrounds of the characters but this would be set as the main characters of AC doing what they do best (and I kinda like the idea that Ezio is the son of a minor house that got fucked over by the Lannisters during the war of the five kings).

I kinda like the idea of Altaïr being the one to kill King Aerys and becoming the mentor of Ezio, Desmond and Ratonhnhaké:ton.

Maybe their backstory would be that the Mad King managed to purge most of the Assassins and Altaïr was one of the few survivors so killing him had been both to protect Westeros and to avenge the death of his brothers while he was still young.

So this would be more in the lines of a man that’s suddenly thrust into becoming a mentor of men not that much older than him.

As I have written before, Ezio would be the son of a fallen minor house that got trampled on by the Lannister during the start of the War of the Five Kings.

I think Ratonhnhaké:ton can be part of the Green Men. 

While Desmond is a bastard of unknown origins who is actually also a survivor of the purge and found Altaïr after he had killed the Mad King. They were searching for other survivors of their Brotherhood when they saved Ezio and met Ratonhnhaké:ton who told them that he had dreamed of them. 

So, in this situation, their Brotherhood continued the ‘fight’ during the War of the Five Kings but there’s only four of them so they can’t assassinate fast enough to stop all the tragedy that happens.

But… 

The shadows they cast are slowly being heard by those who live.

Those being oppressed see them as hope.

And those who are in power… believe they will see their end soon.

But the longer they lived, the more lives they take, leaving behind a bloody feather as their ‘message’...

The more fear gripped those who remain.

I focused on Westeros because the other asoiaf asks I got were Targayen focused XD

Ezio’s habit of being friendly with nobles/people in power returns and this time he thinks allying with the Starks is a good idea. Thankfully for him, Robb Stark is more honorable than Lorenzo de' Medici. Unfortunately for him, Robb Stark is more honorable than the other lords in Westeros. 

If you want Arya to be an Assassin, I would suggest Ratonhnhaké:ton being the one to find her. Your choice of when he finds her though.

Altaïr does not approve of Ezio becoming close with the Starks, only because the Brotherhood must remain in the shadows. This causes Ezio and Altaïr to butt heads that Desmond has to referee.

Desmond may or may not be a bastard of a high ranking noble. Who knows? 

If you want Haytham to stand against them, may I suggest… Haytham being the lord of House Birch. The rumors are he’s adopted and not a true Birch but no one would say that to his face. Shay is his knight. 

The other Assassins like Arno, Evie and Jacob? Uuummm… orphan children that Desmond sorta kinda adopted while Ratonhnhaké:ton was picking up a half-feral child and Altaïr was busy arguing with Ezio?

They all end up being Altaïr's responsibility XD

1. RWBY

The only reason I use this app is to see content on the two dorks above that I love so much and thank for the several hours of total brainrot. What literally started in like volume 2 as a "I envy my gf having ships in shows we watch and they work out, I need to find a ship to enjoy" to literally wanting to scream for joy when they're in the general vicinity of one another begging for any social interaction.

If that doesn't show well who I am idk what will.

2. RWBY Ice Queendom

....except maybe basically putting RWBY twice. Showcases my obsessive tendencies (I used 2 of 8 spots on a list to talk about White Rose)? Check. Shows my petty side (I loved it mostly for having juicy White Rose content I haven't gotten much of in recent volumes)? Yup. Yeah that works. Don't let me fool you though, I loved the show for the show too. Good plot, loved the animation, all of it fine and dandy. But yeah.... I just needed a WR infusion and this show gave it to me.

3. Succession

(for those of you who have not seen Succession, this is not Succession, this is one of the top GIF results for "business meeting")

Business people doing business things saying business words for an hour every week and yet it still stresses me out in a good way. Cinema.

4. Wizards of Waverly Place

Don't let the fact that I literally fell in love with Selena Gomez because of this show fool you. I loved this show for the show..... as well. Were there shows I watched more? Yeah. Were there shows I liked more? Probably. But this list is about shows that help you learn about me, not my top 8 shows of all time (although this is a weird one to say that on because this in fact would be in my top 8 favorite shows all time probably) and this teaches you the type of thing I was into in my younger years and how I learned about my biggest celebrity crush ever. Plus the transitions are all timers.

5. Once Upon A Time

But that's not why it's here. It's here because it was one of, if not the first, major length show I ever binged with my girlfriend so it will always hold a special place in my heart. Plus everything besides the last season was very VERY good so it started things on a good note and has been good ever since 😁😂

6. She-Ra and the Princesses of Power

God I fuckin miss this show. I miss this show so bad. That's what you're learning about me from this, that I miss these two dorky lesbians so fuckin bad. I regret hopping in the bandwagon the second they became canon. I should've latched on for the ride. GOD I miss them so bad. Are they still making a movie? I wish they made funkos but we are definitely past a point of no return there. UGHHHHHH COME BACK.

7. Game of Thrones

Yes yes, I know. I know. Relax. I too think the last season completely ruined the vibes of the whole show and severely reduces interest in potential rewatches if I have nothing else to watch. HOWEVER it makes the learn about me list because this is how I discovered that I love Richard Madden as an actor. I thought it was just that I loved Robb Stark the character, because before this I was never one to be like "oh so and so is my favorite actor I love their work" besides Selena Gomez because I was shameless in my youth and Harrison Ford because I liked Han Solo in my Star Wars days. But no, I watched him for like 4 minutes in 1917 and was like hey I know him, then I saw him in Eternals and he was great in Eternals, and now I'm seeing him in Medici and I like him in that too! I need to see Bodyguard at some point. Everyone says his performance was amazing in that.

8. The Boys

I was never a big comic/superhero guy growing up. I knew about various superheroes, I knew the MCU existed, hell I was Team Iron Man without watching a single MCU movie until 2019 (and I'm still that way). But, I've gotten into it. Up to date on MCU movies, seen most of the MCU shows (haven't seen only one of them yet, but I won't say which so it doesn't start anything because I just haven't felt like starting it yet and that's the only reason), and like I liked it. The Boys (followed soon by Eternals and then Moon Knight) showed me there was ways I could LOVE superhero stuff and now I make it my mission to see Marvel content because I've become interested in it so I guess it's a good thing I started late because I've yet to get burnout but that's only because I've been consuming content for like 4 years while some (if you count the Tobey Spiderman movies as the first mainstream superhero movies although I'm sure theres others that were also mainstream, probably batman but I'm getting into DC soon I swear I just dont know as much yet but I will get into it) have been consuming it for 20+ so I get why people complain about superhero burnout but I haven't reached it yet, and amazing content like The Boys is why.

well, that being said i ship a lot of things so like... yeah. i think it's bc i don't wanna name everything i ship but idk. i can't really remember the reason why. but i can tell you some of my ships! i'll just name some from each series.

dm: deathshipping (yami marik x ryou bakura), chaseshipping (tristain taylor/hiroto honda x duke devlin/ryuji otogi), puzzleshipping/blindshipping (yami yugi/atem x yugi), puppyshipping (joey wheeler/katsuya jounouchi x seto kaiba), and of course theifshipping bc they're basically canon. i also enjoy anzu/miho too... bc miho deserves love. again, this isn't all of my ships, if you're curious i'm like... hella into deathshipping LMAO.

gx: rivialshipping gx (jaden/judai x chazz/jun), idolshipping (fubuki/atticus x zane/ryo), kenzan/shou, jim/jun, medici/samejima, johan/edo. i love johan/edo so much, i loved them for YEARS. since i was a child. jim/jun is one of my new fave ships, i think they would be funny and cute <3. idolshipping on top (imo), i loooove fubuki/ryo, i want them to be HAPPY.

5ds: crow/aki, yusei/aki, jack/carly, yusei/kiryu, yusei/bruno, harald/brave/dragan. when i was younger i was super into bruno/kiryu but not so much now. i think they're still cute! but i'm not as into them as now. i swear to god i had more 5ds pairings but i haven't seen it in a bit so my mind is a bit hazy. carly/misty lived in my mind rent free when i was a kid too. i thought they were great. again, i can't think of anything lmao.

hello lads! it's time for Overanalyzing Snippets of Dialogue from AC2, with me, maranzalla!

for tonight's episode, we're sticking with the crowd comments from the Uberto Uberti assassination mission, right at the start when Ezio commits his first true murder and avenges his family by killing the traitor Uberti:

Husband: Accept our thanks—for this evening—and for helping to keep Firenze safe. I always had my doubts about the Auditore. Where did the family even come from? To gain such wealth and ... and prestige in... in a single generation?

so this guy, who is supposedly a Florentine noble attending an exclusive function, wonders aloud how is is even possible that the Auditore gained all that wealth and presting, since they're apparently not Old Money (TM) .

my issue with this is that in XV century Florence, they really wouldn't have seen an issue with non-nobles becoming filthy rich - everyone was becoming filthy rich, with trade or banks, first of all the Medici themselves, the Pazzi earlier, the Bardi, the Donati, everyone.

In fact, in Florentine society for a long long time being an actual part of the actual nobility was ostensibly a social and political hindrance - nobles were excluded from city offices by law, and many noble families thus opted to be struck off the books of the aristocracy to keep engaging in active politics. So this guy sounds more like he comes from the Ancien Regime or a Regency mindset of "ewwww, the trades" rather than a genuine XV century Florence.

now this is interesting! Tuscan naming tradition in that time means the same names are recycled through generations - everyone's getting named like grandpa, grandma, etc. - and thus the same 3-4 names continously pop up in the same families. But it seems this was not the case with the Auditore, therefore I have been thinking about their names specifically:

Giovanni: nothing to say here. Patron saint of Florence is John the Baptist, so it fits. 100% solid Tuscan name, approved

Maria: technically correct but boring. It's a bit sad that Ubisoft didn't tap into the vast potential abyss of peculiarity that can be Tuscan period names, but ok

Federico: okay so this is strange. Grandpa Auditore is Domenico so they broke with tradition and picked a different name. But Federico has a German origin and is not actually that much attested in Italy in this period, and it would be a bit strange since it's uhhhhhh a Ghibellin name, which is a NO in Florence. So what then? I propose he was named by Giovanni after Federico da Montefeltro Duke of Urbino, which was for a time an ally of the Medici party, which Auditore supports.

Ezio, Claudia: these are Roman names. Was Giovanni into Latin history, as an early Humanist? Did he serve for a while at the Rome Medici bank? the lore possibilities ...

Petruccio: supposing its full form is Pietro and that Maria didn't snap and demand to pick a name herself for once, it's once again a name with a strong Roman tie.

so the Auditore children do have strange names, I guess, to a Florentine ear.

Former protégé of the Medici’s highly commissioned artist (Sandro) known for making the family portraits in the Medici tower stage. A hardworker who values creativity and being in the avant-garde. It’s that sort of mindset that led her in the story mode path. Really, she just wants to collect their money for their late teacher’s last Medici commission bc the skullgirl’s hellraising has put that transaction on pause. But, if there is anything Michelle doesn’t have patience for it’s waiting to be paid.
