AN: Its been awhile since I posted to this series, random idea was born after listeing to Because of You. And i also pulled a quote from one of my fav shows ever Bojack Horseman , ever have a hard time trying to write the middle of a fic

Self care….not your biggest strong suit, which is pretty funny for ER/n. Lets just say Bradley doesn’t find it so funny.

This is all started because of your weak immune system. It was shameful how someone who’s been a ER/n for the past decade and half didn’t recognize the severity and symptoms of the flu. For crying out loud your a mom and a wife, your the definition of unstoppable,someone who doesn’t get the chance to fall apart. And yet here we are—laying on bedroom floor, curled up in pain. Weakness doesn’t look good on you Y/n Bradshaw.

Let’s turn the clock back.

This time, you had the chance to hide your sickness from your other half—since he recently taken promotion of Captain he had been busy with students and paper work. As evil as its sounds—you just didnt want him fretting over you, ruining his work schedule because of you, missing out with friend’s because of you.

Being sick today wasn’t any different, you usually toughen it out—pushing yourself while sick was a familiarity, well before you became an adult. You gone to school with body aches, slight fevers, the twins sports game with severe nausea—taking medicine to soothe it. Nothing made you stop—as you learned at a young age age,“Y/n the world doesn’t stop just because your sick.”

You could remember the last time you got sick as a child and the memories are faint but some of it is ingrained into the back of your mind.

“Y/n remember what we say about crying... crying is stupid!"— Dad had grown tired of your loud wails, having come home from a important dinner, he grabbed you by your jaw and gripped it tightly. “Don’t make me have to tell you again”.

You cupped your forehead once again, it felt like someone was taking a knife pulling it in and out. Only couple more hours and your teenaged twins would grow tired and retire to their rooms.Then you could fall apart—cry if you needed to, throw up if you needed to.

What you didnt expect was your husband to come home early.

“Honey its just a little cold”, you mother batted your hands away from your nose, she stood behind you smoothing the sides of your dresses perfectly.“Your father needs at your best for this dinner, the governor might be considering giving him the funding he deserves”.

You didn’t deserve to be cared for, you didn’t earn the right to stay home like your parents did.

You rolled your shoulders back, you looked in the mirror, praying to god that your mascara didn’t smudge. You put on a fake smile because god forbid you didn’t you smile hard enough infront of strangers your father would have your backside and a belt.

“Come on Y/n, Linda!”’your father shouted from downstairs, he stood at the end of staircase. His shoulders squared straight, his eyes portraying nothing but coldness, it really added to the whole army man persona. “Don’t have all day”.

You sniffled one more time, you swallowed the snot down your throat. Mom hated the way your nose looked after you blew it too many times.

You spent the entire night politely turning down men old enough to your father,while also keeping the bile of vomit down. Multitasker

“Dear god Y/n loosen up, your father needs all the support he can get”. Your mother walked past you, whispering into your ear.

“Yes ma’am, let me go freshen up real quick”, your were face down in toliet, biles of vomit coming up. Remembering where you were, you quickly stood flushing the toliet— you held onto the stall wall.

An older woman passed you onto the way to the sink. “This generation,what makes you think a man is going to want you like that if cant even hold your liquor?”. The silvered hair woman voice held a certain amount of digust that even your own mother couldn’t beat.

Pull yourself together Y/n.

You can do better than this, you were taught trained better than this.

Walking through the front door Bradley expected two things, his wife helping the twins with last minute homework Or Cobie and Nicky chasing after Orbit, causing a mess to happen around the house.

Quiet house. Bradley allowed his feet to bring him to their shared bedroom.

He didn’t expect for his wife to laying on the floor curled up in a fetal position.“Angel!” Bradley shouts as he slides on to the ground, he didn’t have time to panic—years of being in miltary and being father kicked in. He pressed his finger into your neck hoping and praying to god there was pulse somewhere.

“Brad?” You open your eyes, your confused the worry look Bradley was wearing.“Whats wrong?”.

“Whats wrong Y/n?” His voice dripping with sarcasm, “I just found my wife unconscious on the floor”. You and Bradley are sitting on the edge of the bed.

“Bradley lets not be hysterical, I wasn’t unconscious I’ve worked a graveyard shift while also taking care of the kids”. Your was voice strained, you lost it while at Cobie soccer game.

You squeezed your eyes the ceiling light was starting to bother you, and because you didn’t want Bradley to see you cry.

Bradley gave you once over and started to feel his bubbling anger starting to faint away. “Angel we’re partners remember?” He’s caressing your face, “I have your six, you know that right?”

You peered your eyes back open, and whispered“I know that, I just…..nevermind it doesn’t matter”.

You start to move away from him“the twins need some important forms signed Brad-Brad and Orbit needs to be let out again”.

“Y/n dont worry about that, right now we need to talk about your lack of self care”. Bradley pulls you back to him, “Please let me take care of you”. The amount of emotion that filled Bradley voice broke your heart, you didn’t mean to make him upset.

“We also need to talk about I didn’t even notice my own damn wife was in so much pain”. Bradley ran his hands through hair, “I mean how I couldn’t I?”.

“Well Brad you’ve been working long hours since becoming a captain, the navy needs you more than usual to”. You smile weakly, the last thing you wanted to do was make Bradley feel bad for being promoted.

“Oh angel Im sorry, thats it I’m taking a leave of absence”. Bradley tone held a no-none sense tone.

“No,no Bradley I’m fine this something im used to, sometimes you need make sacrifices”. You speak like its fact, you’ve never been told otherwise.

Bradley sighs his eyes rimming with tears, its got this far without Bradley noticing.“No Y/n your just used to making unnecessary sacrifices for everyone else”.

“When the last time you’ve been taken care of— when’s the last time I spend the day taking care of you?”. Bradley voice was soft, careful to not wake the kids. “Y/n let me take care of you, my wife the mother of kids deserves to be loved , cherised and taken care of”. His voice is quiet, he puts his hand into yours. “I love you Y/n Bradshaw”.

Muse speech patterns. by Memesomething.

do they use contractions and shortenings ("can't" but also "gonna"): More likely to say 'cannot' and 'going to' than shorten. Especially when emphasizing.

do they use multiple contractions (shouldn't've): Not a chance. 'Should not have'.

do they talk Around a point or do they talk To the point: If he isn't being short and blunt then he's stalling or being insincere. One of his tells. Not very obvious unless you know him well. Occasionally he'll talk in circles to ease himself into getting to a difficult point. Of the 'that is to say' variety. Most of the time, though, he's the type to acknowledge the obvious without preamble and address elephants. Politely, of course.

what is the 'feel' of the way they speak? does it feel ancient? does it feel refined? does it feel comfortable, gentle, warm? does it feel safe? (does it feel crass, dangerous, on the edge of danger?): In public: Classy, polite, a little stiff. Very clear and enunciated, understandable. Habitually uses a limited part of his vocabulary, lots of emphasis words/phrases like certainly, definitely, of course. 'Good-natured host' voice and manner of speech. In private around trusted company: Naturally refined without much effort. More casual yet richer, doesn't mince or think of which words to use.

how urgently do they speak, is it rapid? do they take their time to figure out what they want to say before they say it?: Sprawling pauses. He thinks before he speaks especially when his opinion is asked. Even when upset, stressed or mad his speech defaults to cracking pauses rather than rapidfire. Only gains verbal momentum when talking about his passions. Every other time? Even pace.

do they say things by mistake, do words sometimes come out of their mouth that shouldn't come out of their mouth?: No, more likely to stop talking altogether than blurt something out. do they have the jargon for a particular topic and if so do they use the jargon around the person they're talking to: Proper classical music terminology or death. He doesn't care, he'll explain thrice what a cantata is before he waters down his speech even a little.

colloquialisms? slang?: No. Has to be manually taught. Dude, pop culture slang?? Forget about it.

do they rely on the relatedness principle ("Is the news on?" / "It's six o'clock." and they rely on people assuming the answer is related to the question) or do they prefer to explicitly spell things out ("Is the news on?" / "Not yet, but it will be in another half an hour."): Explicit. Clear and understandable. Wouldn't like to repeat himself.

what are the words or turns of phrase they often use to change the subject or bring up something new ("Tell you what though-", "Although...", "On the other hand,", "Anyway-"): Just goes for it if there's a pause. Tends to let a topic run its course rather than interrupt, though, if conversation is actively continuing in that direction. Otherwise? 'Now-', 'Well,-', 'I wanted to mention-' and all such manner of pause-provoking words, for the sake of natural diversion. A little apologetic about it too.

do they mimic their speaking partner's linguistic traits at least a little i.e. if their partner says "fuck" are they more likely to say "fuck" themselves? or would they stick with whatever word they naturally use?: Swearing's not the best example because sometimes he'll go the length of correcting them for it. He does adapt up to a point. Can adjust his vocabulary around specific company, but uses his own speech patterns. He doesn't care if it's weird, it's how he speaks and it's the intended way besides.

does your muse swear?: Never in public, it's improper. Precedes rude terms with 'pardon but' in private.

does your muse use the words 'i promise' to make promises or do they just say something ("I love you.") or use another version of the words ("You have my word."): More severe. You have my word or I swear. Clear vows only.

do they say 'please' and 'thank you' to strangers? do they say it to their friends? loved ones? how do they say 'please' and how do they say 'thank you'?: Golden words: Please, thank you and I'm sorry. He uses them habitually, even when he probably shouldn't. Casual to friends, other more severe varieties like My apologies, My thanks, Forgive me/my-, Pardon, I beg-, etcetera to strangers or his mother.

how do they go about disagreeing with someone?: If it's a matter of subjective disagreement then kindly at first, rather roundabout. 'I wouldn't say-', 'I don't think-', 'I rather-', all personal and loose phrasing. If it's objective? A blunt but polite no. Depends on if the person can be disagreed with. Oftentimes he won't even bother if it's clear there's no leeway for a conversation, just an argument. Might just sigh and leave.

The Hoenn Pokémon League!

- Trainers register for the Hoenn League at their local Pokemon Center. The Elite Four and Champion keep tabs on the challengers as they move across Hoenn (hence why Steven was able to "run into" May as often as he did after their first encounter in Dewford).

- Trainers may complete their badge journey in any order they choose (Minus Norman. Then he makes you earn four badges before you can battle him)

- The Elite Conference is held once a year. During the time the League is not open, Ever Grande City is a peaceful place, mainly visited by nature lovers who want to see the strong water types that can make it up the enormous waterfall.

- Trainers who intend to enter the Conference must make their way up the waterfall. They cannot fly into the city, like spectators/the press will.

- The Ace Trainers and Experts in Victory Road are paid for by the League. They are the first challenge trainers will face on their way to battle the Elite Four/Champion. Challengers who choose to give up are escorted the rest of the way by one of the trainers and given a ticket to watch the conference.

- Trainers that do make it through Victory Road are given accommodation in the Ever Grande Resort, the biggest hotel in the city.

- The city is flooded with spectators and reporters, and the matches are broadcast worldwide.

- The rounds play out similarly to the anime, where there will be knockout rounds until eight trainers are left standing.

- Those eight trainers will get the chance to battle the Elite Four and the champion. They are also registered in the Hall of Fame and gain access to the Battle Resort (later Frontier).

- Those matches are the most hotly anticipated, because the number of trainers who are able to battle the champion fluctuates every year. Some years, all eight will battle the champion, other years, it's just one.

- May was one of two trainers to make it to Steven (the other was Wally)

- Max was the only trainer to make it to May when he competed a few years later, and he lost.

- May defeated Steven Stone and retained the title of Hoenn champion for almost a decade

- She has a brother named Max.

- Her father, Norman, is the gym leader of Petalburg City

- She is originally from Olivine City, Johto, and speaks of it often in interviews.

- May was the one to quell Kyogre's wrath

- May was the one to beat the strange space Pokemon while on the back of Rayquaza. This information was revealed by a reporter named Gabby.

- May is poised to helm Hoenn's Battle Frontier, and will battle under the title of Battle Legend.

- She is very warm when giving autographs and interviews. She really does like being looked up to by young children/trainers.

- May is very outspoken about her belief that humans should not, under any circumstance, control Legendary Pokemon. She belives they should be left alone, and humans should only intervene if they pose a danger to humanity. Kyogre just wanted to take a nap there was no need to wake them up TEAM AQUA!!!

SEMI PUBLIC KNOWLEDGE/RUMORS

- May once had a nightmare of her team dying to Kyogre. She woke up panicked about it in the crowded Pokemon Center lobby at EverGrande City, so there were witnesses.

- May is really bad at cooking human food, but is a wiz at making Pokeblocks. No, she doesn't understand how she's accomplished that either.

- The information about May being the one to defeat the legendary Pokemon was actually stolen from the Mossdeep Space Center or the city of Sootopolis by the reporting team of Gabby and Ty.

NOT PUBLIC KNOWLEDGE (unless plotted otherwise)

- May has a deep, deep loathing for Team Aqua, and especially Archie. Despite the façade she puts on regarding them, she wishes she'd been strong enough to tell Interpol exactly what they'd been planning.

- Wallace, Steven, and Professor Cozmo were the ones to hide any footage of May's deeds, at her request.

- May is still severely traumatized by what happened with Kyogre and Rayquaza

- May suffers from aquaphobia (phobia of water) and astrophobia (phobia of stars/space). It can be difficult for her to do things like shower, or have a romantic evening stargazing.

- Flash, her Raichu, very nearly died in the battle against Kyogre, and was the member of her team that dealt the finishing blow to the beast.

- May released Kyogre back into the Seafloor Cavern after catching it. She commanded it go back to sleep.

- She also refused to take Rayquaza with her on her journey, but does still have the ability to call it if need be.

- She never caught Deoxys. She only beat it back into deep space

- Latias is the one legendary she met that doesn't mind.

“  shit,  i think i pulled my stitches.  ”

“Really?” the man sighed, shaking his head as he came back into the room. A fresh cup of tea and left over pizza sat warmed on a plate. It wasn’t much but, none of the restaurants stayed open late enough to order; to his own shame, Wesker’s place was a bachelor pad. “You wrestling with Chris again?” he teased, setting both down on the table beside her. Kneeling at her side his hand moved carefully to the bandage, eyes scanning for red. 

“Looks like the wounds weeping a bit, go ahead and start unwrapping,” the man should have suggested calling a doctor. Too used to being in the shit without help, Wesker figured they could at least wrap it tighter and wait until the morning. 

“Still can’t believe you did that,” in reference to the event leading them to that exact moment, “I had it handled.”

“What happened?” his chest screamed as he tried to sit up, “where are we?” Wesker knew the soreness, whatever he had been hit with didn’t pierce.

“Did I get shot?” he had taken two in the chest years prior, it was a feeling one never forgot. His head rested again as he tested his hands, fingers moved with ease so there hadn’t been too much damage. Looking back up at Carlos he frowned a little, “You alright?” The man looked uninjured from what he could tell.

“Help me up,” he offered the man his hand as he rolled onto his feet. Slowly rising he let out a small grunt of pain, his free hand moved to run the spot over his Kevlar vest.

[ STEADY ]

Things had gone from bad to worse. Alpha team had been leant to a sister agency, all meant to help contain a bio breach. With minimal information and limited support the team had been overwhelmed. It was a miracle they were all still alive.

Finally somewhere safe Wesker could see spots in his vision, his head throbbed as he tried to push himself off the chair. “I got it,” he offered quietly. Chris had stepped out to get the team some waters, leaving Wesker and Jill alone. His arms and legs shook as he stood up; whatever they had been hit with had done a number on his system. After forcing his gas mask onto Jill, Wesker had take a few breaths of whatever it was. His lungs burned with every breath; his body felt like it was ready to shut down.

He hadnt registered he was falling forward until Jill’s hands were on his chest. “Shit-“ the man slumped forward his head resting just over hers. Trying to right himself the man saw the room starting to spin, “Chair-“ his hand reached back to find the chair. “Fuck-“ he couldn’t find it as his knees shook threatening to give out.

Jill Valentine, bomb expert and well-respected member of Delta team. Her resume was impressive, to say the least. It was her soon to be former captain’s praises though that made him want to meet the woman himself. So, he arranged the meeting. Flying into the town, the team was stationed at Wesker had requested every stay under the table until the offer was made. Cloak and dagger seemed a little over the top, but he wanted a select few for STARS. They didn’t need folks to be flooding in; for now, the team was still just a pet project. No guarantee it would get on its feet. 

Waiting int the diner, he had told the captain which table he’d be at; the pair were soon entering and Wesker stood to greet them. The man towered over them both, a trait that he used to his advantages in interrogations. 

“Jill Valentine,” he offered a hand to the woman with a smile, “Albert Wesker, it’s nice to finally meet you.” Sitting down and allowing them to join, he offered, “I wasn’t sure if Captain Price told you what would be happening today. I asked him to keep this meeting between us for now until we spoke.” Eyes scanned the menu though he knew he’d only have a coffee, he didn’t usually eat after a fight and wanted to get to his hotel to sleep. Soon he’d be on a flight to meet a young man by the name Chris, young and rough around the edges, but he had potential. Jill was the total package.

“I’ve heard a lot about your work on Delta, I’m impressed,” he finally looked up at her again, eyes lingering a moment on her face longer than they should have. “Your skills are life or death for bomb techs,” he didn’t feel to need to hide how much he knew.

“There’s nothing to tell,” Anthony said in a curt tone as he winced while putting on his shirt. Nothing out of the ordinary. Who didn’t have a few scars and issues after being a dumb reckless kid. He’d long since outgrew that immortal feeling, gained a great deal of humility and hopefully some sense. It still didn’t mean he wanted to talk about it....
