Sinto-me um bocadinho triste no que se trata de viajar. Após ganhar maior "awareness" quanto às consequências do turismo, fica difícil de pensar num destino decente que não seja prejudicado por isso. As grandes cidades estão todas a ter imensos problemas com a habitação e os preços de praticamente todos os bens. Destinos pequenos sofrem imenso também (basta pensar no Hawaii). E isto é sem falar das consequências culturais em ambos os casos, ainda para mais quando se trata de povos que sofreram e ainda sofrem com o colonialismo. E o "engraçado" é que mal dá para explorar o próprio país ironicamente por causa do turismo. Será que as únicas opções éticas são não sair do local onde se mora ou fazer voluntariados nas zonas onde se visita? Sei que a culpa de muito do turismo ser assim é pela forma como o capitalismo estruturou o mundo, mas não deixa de ser triste de qualquer forma.

Peço desculpa se é um desabafo meio ignorante e estranho...

Travel during low season

Im dead serious and saying this both as someone perfectly aware of the tourism problem and also someone who works in tourism bc i want to still have a job but i dont want cities packed in the summer. We are so glad to see people travelling in january, February, bc it makes high season less suffocating

Also, whats important is not where to travel but how to travel. Practice conscious tourism.

First step is to learn about the country you're visiting, i know this sounds basic as hell but you wouldn't believe. I've had people arrive in lisbon who had never heard of natas/custard tarts. I don't mean compile a list of ten things to do and see, I mean learn the dos and don'ts. There are going to be cultural barriers and misunderstandings and its better to just, when it happens, go "haha apologies i was no aware" than believing everyone is trying to defraud you. Like when they charge you 7€ for the cheese and olives and bread they served you without asking in Lisbon they're not scamming you, that's a cultural thing, you just didn't look at the menu. They're scamming you when they charge you 2€ for slicing a sandwich

When i say learn about the country i do mean cultural aspects of course. The nata thing is a bit of an anecdote but it shows how poorly the person planned their trip since natas are the number one thing advertised about lisbon

Also please don't take suggestions for places to eat out from tiktok. I am yet to see a list that's good and not bougie

For me the most important thing is to ditch the authentic tourism mindset. I fucking hate Authentic Tourists TM. You're a tourist. You're going to eat at an overpriced restaurant, you're going to visit a highly touristic spot, you're going to wait in line and yes, you're going to see americans oh my god just deal with americans (this is a side rant never mind it). The fact is there are authentic places that are touristy. When i went to San Sebastián i had one pintxo place on my list and that was txpetxa taberna. It happened that our food tour had a stop there and it looks touristic as fuck. The walls are covered with photos of celebrities who went there and everything. But goddamn if our basque tour guide didn't say "mira, son portogeses eses" ans from behind the counter we hear "EU SOU DE TRAS OS MONTES" and we had the best Pintxos in my life. Who gives a shit if it looks touristic. Its one of San Sebastiáns most iconic tabernas. There's a lot of places in lisbon that are very authentic but they look touristy bc they adapted to the tourism wave

Also you won't find the truly authentic places bc the locals don't want you there. It's their getaway. You bet there are restaurants me and my coworkers keep a secret among us bc we just want a spot to rest and have cheap lunch. It's just that the authentic craze is very condescending. I am forever reminded of the american who asked me where to listen to fade and I directed her to a fado tour (i was working as reseller of touristic services back then) and she very condescendingly said "listen I've done those fado tours and they're just for tourists, I want an authentic place not what you're selling me" my bitch do you think fado is still prostitutes and sailors singing in a dingy tavern while some taverner spits into a glass and wipes it like some fucking dnd starting scene??? No amount of "fado has changed drastically" could convince this bitch. I also have a lot of "i want to eat at a place that has portuguese ppl only working there" well good fucking luck there

Authentic Tourists TM usually think they know your city better than you do and I promise you nobody hates them more than locals.

I also don't want to sell my own bread but do a guided tour. AND NOT A FREE TOUR STAY AWAY FROM FREE TOURS (if you have the chance, a lot of cities actually don't have any other option, in which case tip the fucking guide. Tip them and tip them well). Its just that, think of it this way: you've just arrived in a new city you are trying to know and you want suggestions for like lunch and getting around. A guide is your best option cause they will not give you the names of the truly authentic places and they will help you navigate the city against the touristic mass. I speak for myself, I try to get people out of the 28 tram every day by explaining to them that it truly is public transport and its going to be overcrowded and the line is extremely long but there are alternatives. The guides will also direct you to the touristic places you should be visiting and will help you practice more conscious tourism.

When a guide tells you to go to this one local restaurant they're probably avoiding sending tourists to places where every day citizens go to have lunch while working but they're nonetheless telling you: hey this is a local business that we should support. Be open with your guide, we appreciate the sentiment of this ask and i speak for myself and my coworkers, we will help you navigate the issue as best as we can bc we understand where you're coming from

Stay away from Airbnbs. Book a hotel. Hotels are not the expensive alternative anymore, there's a lot of options that are pretty affordable but also you have room service and breakfast of you want. Plus hotels tend to be located in central areas and that is what you want. Its the funniest thing seeing tourists look very discouraged and despondent as they look up the massive set of stairs they have to climb with their huge luggage in Alfama. What did you expect bro

The massive problem with tourism right now, the way I see it, is that governments are seeing this a cash money opportunity and are refusing to regulate tourism. I am of the opinion that we have to start limiting tourism. The Pena Palace should limit visits. Jerónimos monastery should limit visits. Etc. These places should only sell a very limited number of tickets a day. I don't care if you have to book three months ahead this can't keep happening. The line for the monastery today did a full U that's how long it was.

And we have to limit the number of cruise ships allowed in the city. We have to stop letting 20 thousand people dock outside of alfama at a time and pretend this is normal. We have to limit things. I want tourism to thrive cause i want to have a job lol hell i love being a tourist. But what the hell man I don't mind waiting a few years to visit some place because of limitations that come to the benefit of the locals. And also I'll still have work BC it's not just tourists who use touristic services, and i think it would do well for tourism agencies to stop bending over backwards for tourists and come up with a plan for LOCALS. Aim their services at LOCALS which ideally is what should happen in low season

One last thing. You mentioned hawaii but i am speaking only from a european perspective. I'm completely out of the loop with hawaii however aware of its mass tourism problem but I'm not going to talk about something i don't know

Anyway. Go ahead and travel. Visit lesser known places or grab a car and travel across the country. Travel during low season it's the best time to travel in my opinion. Practice conscious tourism. Read up on your destination, book a hotel, book a tour, plan your trip, and enjoy. And get that fridge magnet. You're a tourist, not an Authentic Tourist TM.

well, theres a simple solution to that as well.

firstly, youre going to want to download firefox or a fork thereof (i use mull, personally)

then, youll want to open up the meatball menu and click "addons"

(screen blacked out because of privacy settings, dw theres nothing important there)

the addon you want is "ublock origin," you may recognize it as the adblocker you should also get on your computer

now, i already have it so ill demonstrate the install wit adguard, though not that having more than one adblocker can actually maje things worse. you only need ubo

youre going to want to tap on that little plus icon next to the extension you want

then hit "add"

then after it installs check "allow in private browsing" and "ok, got it"

and thats all you need to have a great browsing experience on the web. tune in next time where i explain revanced, aka how you can improve almost every single social media app ever (sadly excluding our very own tumblr, for now) (NOT ANYMORE! revanced works with tumblr now) especially youtube, for which dns adblocking doesnt work and the mobile browser experience can be described as "not the best"

Ah, sim. Não, eu não escrevia naquele momento. A fotografia foi tirada há uns dias atrás e achei na galeria de imagens do meu smartphone e achei que era um bom momento para postar. Apenas editei e subi a imagem no Tumblr.

As músicas me ajudam, sim, a me concentrar e criar. Tenho algumas playlists diferentes para algumas ocasiões específicas. Mas a que eu mais uso para escrever são as conhecidas como lo-fi. Instrumentais com a vibe certa para esses momentos de criatividade. Mesmo assim, recomendo procurar por essa música:

“Uma tarde de sábado quente em Eiden. Os últimos dias da primavera estavam bem evidentes com as altas temperaturas. Com isso, os cidadãos frequentavam áreas externas de lazer, parques públicos, sorveterias e bares.

Die estacionou seu carro no espaço disponível que havia na rua do Edifício Emporium. Ele desceu do seu veículo, seguiu para a portaria. Se apresentou e obteve um crachá. Seguiu pelo saguão até os elevadores. Assim como ele, outros estavam esperando pelo elevador chegar ao térreo. Ouviu-se um sinal parecido com um sino e as portas se abriram, então, esperando todos saírem do elevador, Die e outras pessoas então entraram e apertaram aos andares que queriam alcançar. O Edifício Emporium é um prédio comercial onde possui escritórios de várias empresas. Mas o destaque fica para a cobertura do prédio, que fora transformada em um bar e restaurante, para onde Die estava subindo nesse momento.

Para um sábado à tarde, o ambiente se encontrava cheio. Die saiu do elevador com algumas pessoas que também se destinavam à cobertura do Emporium. Recebido pelo maitre, o rapaz foi encaminhado diretamente à mesa que estava lhe fora reservado.

O lugar era considerado de luxo pelos críticos da gastronomia de Eiden. Die estava na mesa ao lado da janela panorâmica com a vista da cidade. O Edifício Emporium não era um arranha-céu, mas possuía uma das vistas mais lindas do centro urbano da metrópole. E ele adorava isso. O garçom veio lhe entregar o menu junto com um copo de água e gelo, um costume do local servir os clientes com água, principalmente em dias mais quentes como aquele sábado.

Enquanto olhava para o menu de opções, uma mulher se aproximou da mesa. Ela, de estatura média, cabelos loiros, olhos azuis, trajando uma roupa adequada para o ambiente – jeans claro e uma blusa de meia manga e ombros expostos, combinando cores e um sapato escuro de salto curto. Die se levantou para cumprimenta-la. Sua roupa também estava adequada para o ambiente. Ele estava com uma calça jeans clara e uma camisa azul escura com mangas dobradas no antebraço.”

Por que “Die”? O nome do personagem principal, é uma alusão ao significado da palavra ou apenas um diminutivo de algum nome próprio? Ao que tudo indica, Die é um homem de gostos refinados. Aprecio quando quem escreve, é minucioso nos detalhas da narração. No seu caso, o narrador observador, mesmo os leitores não tendo conhecimento do edifício Emporium, nos faz imaginar como seria o tal ambiente de acordo com a sua descrição do mesmo. Até o barulhinho do elevador, parece que estou a ouvir. Por acaso, a mulher a qual se aproxima de Die, é a que você constantemente sonha que se parece com o meu icon ? E seu nome?

They really support and take care of one another and my goodness it was so sweet and I mean Bunty sure knows his way around rope hahaha. This was a very unique and fun take on the classic shakespeare story and I enjoyed getting to see where the couple from the first book went in this one as well. Overall, it was such a fun read and I can’t wait to see where the third book goes with the newest couple!!!

How to Remove Image background Remove

Open Adobe Photoshop and import the image you want to edit.

Make sure the Layers panel is visible (if not, go to "Window" > "Layers" to open it).

Duplicate the original image layer by dragging it to the "New Layer" icon at the bottom of the Layers panel. This step is important for non-destructive editing.

Select the duplicate layer.

Choose the "Quick Selection Tool" from the toolbar on the left side (or press "W" on your keyboard to activate it). It's represented by a brush with a dotted circle around it.

Adjust the brush size in the options bar at the top according to your image's details.

Click and drag over the foreground area you want to keep. The tool will automatically select the area based on color and texture.

If you accidentally select areas you want to remove, hold the Alt/Option key and drag over those areas to deselect them.

Refine the selection using the "Select and Mask" feature. You can access it by right-clicking on the selection and choosing "Select and Mask" from the context menu. This step helps to fine-tune the selection edges for better results.

In the "Select and Mask" dialog box, experiment with the available tools like "Refine Edge Brush," "Brush Tool," and "Smart Radius" to adjust the selection. Use the preview options to see how it looks against different backgrounds.

Once you're satisfied with the selection, click "OK" to exit the "Select and Mask" dialog box.

With the selection still active, click on the "Layer Mask" button at the bottom of the Layers panel. It looks like a white rectangle with a gray circle in the center.

The background should now be transparent, and you can add a new background layer or leave it as is.

Save your image in a format that supports transparency, such as PNG, to preserve the background removal.

Remember, this method works best for images with clear foreground/background separation. For more complex images, you may need to explore additional tools and techniques, such as the Pen Tool or the Background Eraser Tool, to achieve better results.

HOW ARE YOU DOING/WHAT ARE YOU UP TO?

So the sparkle things are gifs, which means we need to

1.) make the frames and

2.) turn the frames into a gif

Step 1: Making the frames

I use ibispaint bc its free and has great versatility, it doesnt matter what photo editing app you use it will just change how you add the glitter. To keep this super simple im just going to show you how to glitter

In ibispaint, open whatever size canvas you want/open the image youre glittering. Choose the text tool and add your chosen text

On the bottom row here ^^ you can see a little button with a number two, its where you can open the layer/canvas menu. Click that

Click the "+" on the left hand side, click clipping, and click the dropdown that says "normal" and choose "add" (this is the blending mode). Your screen should now look the same as above.

in the menu on the righthand side (the "tools" menu), click the fx filter icon

Scroll to "artistic"

Fix the settings until they look like the ones above

Type: color

Strength: 75

Amount: 25

And blending mode normal

Click the green check

Now go to the adjust color section and click "exact line drawing" and match it to the settings above

Black: 0

White: 100

And middle: 55

Click the check

The layer is now going to be black rather than the colors it was before, that means youre on the right track

Click the x to leave the filter menu, go back to the layers/canvas menu

Click this little flippy button, "invert layer color" now you should have a glitter layer!! This glitter layer is going to be part of one of our frames

Now repeat the steps of making a new layer, clipping it and changing the blending mode, adding the filters, and inverting the layer color 1-2 more times to have two or three glitter layers (yes theyll be stacked on one another but that is okay for now)

Saving the frames to make a gif:

Now we have several layer, descending they should be:

2-3 glitter layers

A text layer

(And an empty base layer, just ignore it lols its just chillin, u can delete it if you want it doesnt matter)

All these layers have eye images on them. If the eye is dark the layer is visible. If its not its invisible. We are going to save every glitter layer over the text layer individually to get the frames for our gif

The text layer needs to be visible at all times during these next steps.

Turn off the visibility of all the glitter layers except the bottom one (by clicking the eye icon on the layer)

Only one should be visible while we're saving the frames

There is an arrow on the bottom bar all the way at the right

Saving as transparent png makes the background see through like the gif above, save as png makes the background white. Pick whichever, but choose the same one for all of them (if you choose transparent choose transparent for all frames)

Go back to the layer canvas menu, make the glitter layer that is currently visible invisible. Click the eye on the layer above that one to make it visible (the second glitter layer)

Repeat the saving process. If you have a third glitter frame, make glitter frame 2 invisible, glitter layer 3 visible, and save.

Part 2: making the gif itself

go to ezgif dot com. ezgif dot com is the best simple gif maker. ezgif dot com is now your best friend. hashtag not sponsored

Click gif maker

Click "choose files", "photo library", add the glitter frames you made and click add or choose whatever is at the top idr

(I wound up using 3 frames not 2) where it says delay under each gif, delete the "20" and add 12 to one and 13 to the rest (the delay is how much time each frame will take in the gif, using one number thats different keeps tumblr from screwing up and accidentally converting them into videos. Idk why that happens but sometimes it does.)

Ignore all the rest of the settings, you dont need to mess with them just for lil glitter gifs and click the create button at the bottom

Now you can either click download when your gif pops up or you can long press to save it directly to your camera roll

Extra notes:

If you want your glitters to be rainbow, skip the "exact line drawing" and "invert layer color" steps

Ezgif isnt good for high quality gifs. For the gifs on my website i make the frames in ibispaint and use photopea (a free online photoshop) to make the gifs themselves. But thats more difficult to do as you cant really use photopea on mobile without a mouse and its much more complicated (so thats a separate tutorial if you ever need high quality gifs)

Santa's coming to town-- wait, someone else is instead! With a driver and someone checking the list, they're making their way across the sky with a flying reindeer at the lead. Unlike the other YCH with a more simple background or prop with the use of assets or 3D models to help, this one is completely hand drawn with no assets to assist me in drawing the sleigh or chibi-fied reindeer, along with facing my challenge: perspective.

For this YCH, you can also choose the color of the sleigh and reindeer and any little patterns you wish to see that'll fit your characters of choice. Also! If you want the reindeer to be changed to another four legged steed, the price does increase for the adjustments.

🎄 Society6 Shop Closing on January 6, 2023 🎄

After a long time consideration, I decided between RedBubble and Society6, that I would prefer to keep my RedBubble store open and shut down Society6 instead. Mainly because it's much easier to upload new works onto RedBubble without creating dozens of copies so it could fit into Society6's products and Society6 really does limit you on what or where you can upload your artwork on, including cropping your work on their products. I will keep Society6 open for the holidays and it will be closing on January 6th, 2023.

I have used RedBubble more often and bought my own works to test their quality, from stickers, mugs and shirts especially that brought a great impression. They turned out really good! Here's a photo of two RedBubble shirts I bought with my artwork on! (Sorry for the bad picture quality and setup.  I'll do a better one next time.)

Hello Singapore!

Bersih dan nyaman.

Hal yang ingin aku ucapkan pada semua orang saat pertama kali aku menginjakkan kaki ke Singapore.

Perjalanan untuk ke Singapore aku tempuh dari Kuala Lumpur menggunakan Bus. Tiket bus bisa kau dapatkan diaplikasi Easy Book. Pemesanan tiket bus bisa dipesan saat kita berada di Indonesia. Untuk harganya bisa dibilang cukup murah dengan perjalanan kurang lebih 4-5 jam kita mengeluarkan kocek IDR 242.249.

Busnya cukup nyaman dilengkapi dengan AC, stop kontak personal, lampu baca, kursi empuk yang bisa buat tiduran dan tempat selonjoran kaki. Tapi sayang warnanya sangat ngejreng aaaa :D

Tiba di Singapore kita bisa menemukan tulisan ini. Warga negara Singapore terlihat suka jalan kaki untuk kemana2. Makannya disini disediakan pedestrian yang nyaman banget buat pejalan kaki.

Saat di Singapore penginapan yang aku gunakan terletak di jalan Dickson dekat dengan Little India. Aku pilih hotel ini selain karena lebih murah juga dekat dengan transportasi umum dan kampung arab jadi banyak pilihan makanan halal. Namanya Hotel 81 Dickson Singapore, dengan harga 1.440.000/Night .

Di Singapore harga hotel lumayan lebih pricey dari pada tiket pesawatnya. Jadi pastikan kamu sudah yakin untuk membeli tiket liburanmu :D

Ruangannya bersih dan fasilitas standard tanpa breakfast. Ada wifi, AC, water heater, sabun shampo, handuk, jug pemanas air, dan penggantian handuk tiap harinya. Untuk gambarnya kira-kira seperti dibawah ini.

Lanjut makan malam, disekitaran hotel ada rumah makan halal bernama Al Mubin. Disana banyak menjual menu-menu arab dan indonesia. Jangan bandingan harga di Singapore dengan Malaysia. Karena, beda jauh 3x lipat haha. Jika membeli sesuatu aku pasti kali dengan harga IDR 11.000.

Seporsi Nasi ayam goreng sayur dan segelas teh tarik disana dihargai sekitar IDR86.000.

Malam ini aku hanya berkeliling disekitar hotel yaitu Little India. Kenapa bisa disebut little India? inilah jawabannya.

Di sekitar Little India terdapat tempat perbelanjaan yang super gede namanya Mustafa Centre. Disana banyak menjual berbagai macam oleh-oleh seperti coklat, pakaian, perhiasan, dan barang pecah belah dengan harga yang lebih miring dibandingkan dengan toko lainnya. Cukup puas banget untuk mengelilingi satu toko ini, karena memang guedenya minta ampun.

Keesokan paginya aku segera bergegas tidak mau melewatkan waktu singkatku di Singapore ini.

Perjalanan pertama. Icon Singapore, Merlion I'm comming! Perjalanan dimulai dari seberang hotel. Dilarang manja kalau di Singapore. Bagi yang sering kemana-mana pakai ojol rasain di Singapore deh. Selain jalan kaki disini orang kebanyakan memakai transportasi umum seperti bus, MRT, dan LRT. Kunci sukses kamu jadi raja jalanan di Singapore, kamu harus punya EZ Link card. Kartu ini mirip e-money bisa kamu gunakan untuk pembayaran semua transportasi umum di Singapore. Kartu EZ Link bisa di beli di mini market 7Eleven terdekat dengan harga SGD10 (SGD 5 harga kartu, SGD 5 isi saldonya).

Pemandangan indah banget Singapore di pagi hari. Kaya di luar negeri.

Tiba di Merlion, ternyata perutku lapar. Butuh asupan makan. Yuk, cari makan. Aku menemukan 7Eleven di Bawah jembatan dekat patung Merlion, harganya cukup murah untuk seporsi mac n cheese, kalo ga salah SGD 4, lupa 😅. Untuk menghangatkan makanan disediakan microwave juga di mart nya. Sendok garpu udah include ya. Ini enak bangetttt!

Poto lagiiiii! Ini lokasinya diantara patung Merlion dan 7Eleven.

Waktu sehari ini nggak boleh aku lewatkan sedetik pun untuk mengunjungi tempat-tempat ikonik Singapore. Setelah dari merlion aku melanjutkan perjalanan menuju Universal Studio. Seperti biasa perjalanan aku tempuh menggunakan busway dan MRT.

MRT terasa penuh membludak, karena libur panjang imlek. Banyak turis yang datang ke Singapore, terutama India dan Bangladesh.

Akhirnya tiba jug di Universal studio. Biaya yang aku keluarkan disini IDR 0 karena tanpa masuk wahana. Kalau pingin masuk ke wahana tinggal bayar IDR 968.942. Tiket ke universal studio bisa dipesan lewat aplikasi travel di Indonesia seperti Tiket.com dan lainnya.

Panasnyaaa di Universal Studio.

FYI, Universal Studio terletak di pulau Sentosa Singapore. Untuk kesana kita bisa menggunakan kereta gantung/gondola, kapal ferry, kereta penghubung Singapore dengan pulau Sentosa, atau bisa juga jalan kaki lewat Sentosa Boardwalk.

Asli, kalau jalan kaki kamu bisa melihat view cantik banget di Sentosa Boadrwalk. Sayangnya cuma satu, 'CAPEK!'

Lanjut dari Universal Studio menyempatkan untuk ke bandara. walaupun nggak terbang dari sana :D.

Kece parah ini bandara Singapore!! Suka banget sama nuansa tropical gini :D

Aku ke Singapore pas tahun baru imlek, jadi disini perayaannya sangat meriah. Disetiap sudut jalanan terpasang lampion dan aneka accecories khas imlek lainnya. Pada gambar di bawah aku sedang jalan-jalan disekitar bugis street. Banyak masyarakat sedang melakukan ibadah. Uniknya mereka ibadah dengan menggunakan persembahan bunga bungaan. Bunga lotus menjadi icon pada persembahan ini. Konon katanya bunga lotus ini menjadi lambang keindahan dan kesempurnaan bagi orang tionghoa. Cantik banget kan :')

Mengelilingin Bugis Street ternyata menguras energy. Aku harus makan dulu hehe. Sate ini aku beli di kedai Indonesia.

Pemandangan ketika kamu jalan di malam hari

Malam terakhir di Singapore dan terlihat hujan. Sebelum ambil gambar ini, hujan sangat derasss.

Aku menyempatkan waktu untuk berjalan-jalan sebentar diluar dan jajan mie instant di 7Eleven. Mini market 7Eleven banyak banget disini, jadi ga usah takut kelaparan. Kira-kira aku keluar jam 21.30 waktu Singapore. Jalannya udah agak sepi dan tidak ada perempuan-perempuan yang diluar. Ini menakutkan bagiku, karena yang jalan-jalan malam hanya laki2 dan kebanyakan India.

Yeayy masak mie instant di Hotell.

Note 1: Disini aku nggak menerapkan bacpacker budget, karena waktu aku terbatas dan harus explore semua yg aku temui. Beli makanan juga yang penting mengenyangkan dan kalau ada yang murah ya langsung gass. Kalau dilihat aku makan dalam sehari bisa menghabiskan uang IDR 200.000an, karena ya itu yang aku temukan yang aku makan. Untuk kalian yang on budget sebaiknya riset lagi makanan murah di Singapore. Banyak traveler di luar sana bisa menemukan makanan seharga SGD 2 atau IDR 22.000 doang. Selagi kalian mampu untuk selektif membandingkan harga malah lebih baik 🫶🏻🤗
