You know what era of romcoms I miss? It's the early 2000s teen romcoms that were based on classic literature. They were some of my favorite ones, and yeah, some were loosley based, but they still hit those important bases, and they were so much fun.
We had:
Shakespeare's Taming of the Shrew - 10 Things I Hate About You
Shakespeare's 12th Night - She's the Man
Snow White - Sydney White
Cinderella - A Cinderella Story, What a Girl Wants
Little Mermaid - Aquamarine
Jane Austen's Emma - Clueless
The Scarlett Letter - Easy A
Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet - Warm Bodies
Shakespeare's Midnight Summer's Dream - Get Over It
Pygmalion - She's All That
Shakespeare's The Merry Wives of Windsor - John Tucker Must Die
Jane Austen's Sense and Sensibility - Material Girls
I might be missing some, but I remember just having fun with these. One of my English teachers also showed us a few of these movies while studying Shakespeare to show how pieces of literature can change over the years and inspire other's own takes.

THIS IS NOT A DRILL
apparently there is a new H2O project in the works, and allegedly the legacy cast is part of it!
Jonathan confirmed in a new Instagram post on the official H2O account that this image is in fact, a never seen before shot, allegedly of Cariba Heine.
While so little is known, other possible returning cast members are Phoebe Tonkin, Angus McLaren, and Brooke Nicole Lee from Mako Mermaids (based on connections on the Instagram of the photographer of the image, Jasin Boland).

I’m not sure what ya’ll consider to be PEAK friendship but this is it, enough with Hollywood trying to show friends only hanging out in each others’ bedrooms and living rooms and crap, hanging out on each others’ stair landings was a sign of TRUE friendship, corporate fools
Even better about this whole scene, they are all so close to each other and there isn’t a hint of discomfort, Emma and Lewis’ legs are touching and they’re thinking nothing of it because they are just buddies and Cleo folding her legs so that there’s more space for Lewis’ and Emma’s legs and just Rikki propping her feet up on the stair in front of her is just so in character, and then just imagine Cleo’s parents trying to walk past them all and stepping over sprawled out limbs and them being so fine with it because, “hey, it’s just teenager things”, dude, I just love the humanity of it and how absolutely close the original cast actually was with each other to make such scenes seem natural

My drawing contribution for this year's @cssns !🧜♀️
I feel like deep inside my brain there is a coherent story hidden somewhere ... But for now, the main idea is that Killian's working for some swanky marine science lab (I'm partial to Nautilus Inc. or something like that) and he gets assigned to be part of a very hush-hush project which is... this. And there is just something so profundly melancholy about this beautiful specimen that captures Killian completely. After some trial and error, they manage to establish some form of communication and Killian realizes that "Emma" (name derived from project ID? closest human version to her merfolk name? you decide!) has been ripped from her family, so he decides to return her home, no matter what...
Anyway, I just wanted to draw some Mer-related Captain Swan 😉
