But what would the heroes and AFO know about Twice offering to carry Tomura. What would they understand about Mr. Compress ripping his body apart for him. What would they know about Toga thinking she'd gladly kill for him and no other man in a position of power. What would they know about Spinner selling his soul to the devil to give his friends another chance. About Dabi following only Tomura's orders and no one else's.

They don't even know about Tomura saying "Do you think one of your subordinates can compare to our Magne?" "Do I look that heartless to you? I want them to succeed." Or when Gigantomachia couldn't go underground because that would kill the LOV and Tomura had ordered to bring them to him alive. They don't know about "The wishes of my comrades are separated. Do as you like" or "Playing around with people's feelings... I won't forgive you, Meta Liberation Army".

I'd still need to become... A hero to those guys.

Why are people criticizing Present Mic in MHA 420? From Mic’s perspective, Kurogiri woke up at AFO’s command (via the hand that Spinner held against his face), despite Mic’s prayers that Shirakumo would show up and be a hero with him. Kurogiri warped to help Toga unleash Sad Girl’s Parade, and then to UA to bring the Twice clone army into the battle. The Twices severely injured Monoma and split him from Aizawa, so Shigaraki was released from the Erasure holding him back. Mic also saw the Twices nearly bring down floating UA and knock Aizawa off the building.

As far as Mic knows, all is lost because his appeal to the magic of friendship failed. Finally, Kurogiri warps Mic and Aizawa to some random tiny island in the middle of the ocean with no comms and no means of survival if Kurogiri doesn’t wake up. Sure, Mic and Aizawa didn’t fall to their deaths, but what does it matter when they’re going to die on this island, AFO is winning, and their students are injured and maybe dying? By shonen logic, that warrants a few DJ punches.

The irony is that “rational” Aizawa is the one who spots Shirakumo’s emotions. Aizawa defies logic and puts trust in Shirakumo one more time, looking at Kurogiri not as a Nomu or his old friend, but a UA student who needs teachers to guide him to graduation. [Edited to add:] As further evidence that Mic isn’t out of line, Aizawa went to UA and left Mic behind to guard Kurogiri. Mic will both protect their friend AND stand ready to battle the darkness when it comes back for him.

Can you imagine the survivor guilt of the LOV in a universe where they're still alive after the final battle, but Tomura isn't????

None of them considered that he would lose, let alone die. Even worse if Deku tells them about all he saw and how he kept fighting for their sake, how much he tried to be their hero.

Especially since most of them had accepted the possibility of dying, believing Tomura would fulfill their dreams. Who would tell them? Deku? Would they be separated? It'd be too cruel, to keep them apart as they realize their boss sacrificed all he could for them.

Do you think they'd remember Tomura trashing on the ground as AFO pats his head? Would you think they'd rage or just cry? Would Dabi hide his pain? Would Spinner blame himself? Would Toga accept the possibility that she now can live more freely, but she can't share her happiness with Twice or Tomura? Would Mr. Compress feel that his sacrifice to keep Tomura alive was in vain now that he's dead anyway?

It's so wrong. For him to be dead and then alive...
