There is so much just stupid research that went into this illustration, all because I wanted it to be ✨authentic✨.

I tried to figure out what angel Agent Franks most likely used to be (a Power btw), used the upside-down cross as a little nod to Apostle Peter (also haha, double entendre), and gave him a Großes Messer, which would have been a popular sword during the time he was “born”.

I went full autistic on this, all because I wanted to make Franks look really freakin cool.

I was really hoping last chapter that Shiro was gonna cut her hair, and Mina was gonna be like “Yesss queen!” or some shit lol. I just feel like short hair is more akin to Shiro’s personality? I get that her dyeing her hair was probably a plot devise so she could cosplay Ms.Joy, but hey im a simple guy i like drawing pretty girls with short hair

Could you explain what "pro-shipper" and "anti-anti" are? I see some blogs saying that people that fit in these groups shouldn't follow them and it just feels like there's some tumblr drama I missed.

A pro-shipper is someone who has the mindset “ship and let ship”, and an anti-anti is basically the same and just against anti arguments.

Because tumblr doesn’t understand nuance as a life choice, they tend to turn this into “YOU SUPPORT *NCEST AND P*D*PH*L*A” and then turn it into a wholesale screaming show.

The pro-shippers I have come to get to know are more along the lines of, “If you don’t like it, STOP STALKING THE TAGS JUST TO STARE AT IT, ATTACK PEOPLE, OR LEAVE SHITTY COMMENTS ON THEIR STUFF”. Pro-shippers are still pro-tagging, pro-whatever it takes for people to put yer shit in the right sections, still whatever, just of the belief that human f*cking beings shouldn’t be chased around social media and harassed because they read problematic fic or whatever.

Which frankly, I agree with. This fandom has enough drama without a bunch of 14 year olds fan policing fic in inefficient ways. I don’t like W*ncest fic, and manage to keep it off my dashes with follows and blacklisting of words. If people start screenshotting it to encourage people to go after people, it still manages to make it onto my timeline, and quite literally has the opposite effect.

Or as one person said, “I don’t understand why these kids think they can make W*ncest disappear, it’s like taking a fucking watergun to the sun.”

Pro shippers would also defend Destiel fans if that hyper-aggro section of W*ncest fans came at y’all too. They do *not* defend behavior out of the Kelios crowd, for example: stalking wives, dangerous “gifts”, hating crew, all of that nonsense is considered, well, not-pro-ship, it has nothing to do with shipping, it has to do with not knowing how to act like a civilized human being. 

In fact, a pro-shipper I talk to pointed out that K-club is like, some off-brand anti, who very ironically ships *ncest then tries to throw any other accusation at Destiel like “it’s the same as *ncest cuz like brothers” “necrophilia cuz bad canon reasons”, etc etc and she’s basically the general mills version of fruity loops. Fruity O’s. 

So it’s about the nuance between. You can very well see that a ship is gross, you can very well dislike it, you can also very well see hypocrisy lines and when just GENERAL lines like stalking are crossed which has NOTHING to do with ship and more to do with behavior. But that basically, like, “go find an actual thing to fight for and help fix our upside down country instead of turning fandoms around the world into insufferable tire fires people can’t even escape into, even people that don’t like the ship you’re attacking.”

I actually follow a select handful of proshippers, and I gotta say, the most helpful thing with it tends to be that they track VERY CAREFULLY how anti movements in many fandoms actually integrate TERF rhetoric, sometimes even knowingly. They’ve done stings to get people to out their TERF-based agendas in DMs and take shots of it, they point out alt right nonsense creeping into fandom dialogues.

I’m sure there’s corners of the pro-ship community that I wouldn’t wanna follow or hang out with or whatever. Some probably like furry art or yeah *ncest ships or whatever. The natural solution: don’t fucking follow them, don’t look at their stuff, and leave them ALONE. All the fan policing nonsense does is make noise and hurt people, and if anyone really thinks they’re going to effectively like, take down Ao3 and their lawyer team, they’re out of their minds.

I’ve been extremely vocal about not liking W*ncest, to put it in the mildest terms. But under no premise do I consider doing things like making entire group chats just to track down “w*ncesties” and harass them in mob attacks on social media any kind of good or helpful. You don’t know where their mental states are at. You don’t know why they ship what they ship. You don’t know, and in an MHI-heavy fandom, going out just to bombard someone who *hasn’t* joined in on the K-club hateful behaviors, IDK some nice multishipper that just plays with a few dozen ships in the sandbox -- for all you know you could be the thing that sends them to therapy. Or the grave. We don’t know. And worse, there’s some people so actively involved in this they’d say “GOOD!” and feel they were doing the valorous thing.

If someone was posting like, actual p*do shit, sure, report them. If you’re chasing around fanpoling if someone’s anime looks too kidlike for your taste, and then spend hours harassing anyone that ships anything in the show, we’ve crossed a line. If someone is talking about actually participating in RL *ncest, sure, find a way to report them to authorities, but there’s no legal ground to chase people around about fictional characters. Problematic themes have existed in fiction since people started writing stories and a new wave of internet white noise isn’t going to make it go away. It just makes everyone in the blast zone miserable and often exposes them to content they’re trying to avoid.

Okay so about BLU

I meant to post this after the letter but I forgot so let's fix that. I'm sure yall have been all over the forums and reddit reading people's mostly surprised or negative reactions to the BLU reveal. As far as that's concerned, this is what ya'll asked for. The classic Blue Mage that will learn spells and pick and choose which ones to use in battle based on content. If they changed this aspect, ya'll'd've been pissed about it just like everyone was when RDM first came and we realized it wasn't completely jack of all trades.

Please remember that this game is role restricted. All classes have to fit a role. Any multi-role class from classic FF games is going to get slashed and squished into a role. Like SCH getting 90% cut from its dark arts skills to be a healer. Blue Mage is no different. It will be slashed into a DPS role despite all of you tank mongering hopefuls wishing otherwise.

I think what they're doing is a great compromise and brings promise for more solo geared content like POTD and such. I am not a fan of the masquerade look as I prefer the Thavnairian inspired, sabre-wielding FFXI BLU over this RDM wannabe get up, but its whatever. I also worry about the timing between level upgrades. At best we're looking at 80 by 5.1 if they go by a 10 level per major patch schedule but it's likely they'll be doing a 5 level upgrade per patch which puts our level 80 peak at 5.2 or .3 instead.

Other things I worry about include EXPing. Fighting other BLU in the overworld for exp brings back bad memories but we'll see how it plays out. Larger servers might have an issue. And I can already see people making spell hunting parties and just bulldozing areas/duties for mob spells at low levels which will affect newer players doing their logs or quests. This was never an issue in FFXI because of the sheer amount of places mobs can spawn and the learning rate was based in blue magic skill levels. EXPing took place in the field so chances are you'll learn many missing spells while leveling and by the time you his 40 or so, mob competition tanked for 90% of the spells. (Refueling gets an honorable fuck you due to it only being used by ONE FUCKING BOMB TYPE in an EXPANSION PACK LOCKED MISSION AREA????)

But that aside, I'm still looking forward to seeing how it's handled. If they do well and people get over their whining so they can try more, this opens doors to more game breaking classes that are meant to solo such as Beastmaster (mob taming and beast killer abilities) and Puppetmaster (automatons with job-based attachments). I like the idea of a solo main class especially since I dont raid, however we need more content that it can be relevant in. I expect that once BLU gains the 80 cap, it will be allowed into POTD and HoH. I hope that they lift the restriction on duty finder for certain duties such as Eureka and Diadem and add new duties meant for going in and choosing either solo or co-op. I do wish we could queue solo into anything that isn't roulettes but oh well. I have my squad so it's alright.

It's really a wait and see for me. I want judge until I play it. In the meantime I'll just get my level 50 caster gear ready again.

MHi @rockruff-dailys! OKAY, WHEW! This may seem long-winded, but please bear with me, and I hope this answer is satisfying :) 

This part is a little more subjective; what I personally find interesting or cute or something that I want my own style to strive to is unique to me, and will probably be unique to you, but I think it does help to take the time to look at other art, and contemplate what you like about it, what maybe you’d like to emulate, or what you don’t!

So one of the big sources of inspiration for me are children’s books; there’s a wide range of talent and styles that art directors will look for, so there is reallly a niche for everyone (as long as you can get your foot in the door, which is a post for another day)

Their styles are not perfect one-to-one matches for my own style, but there are brush strokes and textures and expressions that they pull off effortlessly that I personally adore and find inspiration in! The point is that it’s art that excites me, and that I try to emulate in my own work somehow, all to keep the creative flow going and to keep being open to new ideas and color palettes.

2022 vs 2020

This is a redraw of the second piece of fanart I made for the Monster Hunter International series. I know I have a lot more followers now that have no idea what MHI is, so let me just give you a brief rundown of the first book in the series:

Owen Zastava Pitt (the man in the middle) finds out that monsters are real, after getting attacked by his boss turned werewolf. After killing him, barely escaping with his life, Owen gets the chance to kill monsters for a living by joining the company Monster Hunter International. However, there is more evil in the world than just werewolves...

Please, for the love of God, I need more people interested in this book series, it's so good, it's literally my most favorite piece of media, I need people to gush over it with, lmao. also the audiobook is fucking stellar.

Anywho, the woman on his right arm is Julie Shackleford, his wife, and their son, Raymond "Ray" Auhangamea Pitt. I absolutely adore these two, they're one of the biggest reasons I kept reading.

Amyntas "Amyn" Rodgers

Amyntas (or Amyn for short), was born and raised in Montana, and spent most of his time in a tiny town no one has ever heard of. Born with dwarfism, and as the only black kid in school, Amyn was pretty constantly bullied, but that really didn't bother him all that much. Despite his size, he was extraordinarily strong, and unlike most other boys, he fought dirty.

Despite this, he lived a fairly normal life. His parents were lower middle class, but they got by well enough. One of his favorite memories of his childhood (or I guess, mid-teenagehood) was when his parents brought home a computer for the first time. Shit was wild, and he got straight into figuring out how it worked.

After finishing high school, and getting a Bachelors in Computer Science, he ended up, where else, in IT. Where dumbasses abound~

One day, however, he had a really weird craving. He wanted tea. But not just any old tea that you could get in the supermarket, like his momma used to make, oh no.

He wanted good tea.

So, he went a-looking, and found a little place called "Gunpowder and Honey" that, apparently, sold really good tea. Some even claimed that their products could "cure what ails you".

Now, Amyn never really believed in that kind of stuff, but it had good reviews, so, why not.

Little did he know, that the strange craving he had would change his life forever.
