Comprehensive international competition in five years.
An organizing committee information site for the Asian Games on the 25th, North Korea had competed in five events until the previous day: soccer, table tennis, mechanical gymnastics, judo, and boxing.
Kwang-jin Kwang-jin, who competed in the men's 60kg judo event, won the bronze medal.
A smooth trend continued in major events that North Korea is interested in.
The men's national football team beat Taiwan 2-0 in the first round of Group F qualifying, and won the second and third games 1-0 respectively against Kyrgyzstan and Indonesia.
The women's national soccer team won their first group match 7-0 against Singapore.
The North Korean men's and women's soccer teams did not lose a goal during the four games.
Bang Chul-mi (female) and Choi Cheol-man (male) of boxing also won their first preliminary match against Korean and Japanese athletes, respectively, the previous day.
Women's table tennis, organized around new players, fell to the quarterfinals without crossing Thailand's wall, but beat Taiwan in the group stage.
However, in judo, the flagship event, Jeon Su-sung in the women's 48kg class, Geum-sung in the men's 66kg class, and Kim Won-geum in the women's 52kg class failed to advance to the medal finals.
The women's 48kg weight class was also won by "Judo Hero" Kye Soon-hee in 1996 at the age of 17 by beating Japan's Ryoko Tamura at the Atlanta Olympics.
On the 25th, North Korea's Kwon Kwang-il, who has won an international competition in shooting, and Park Myung-won, who served as North Korea's flag bearer at the Asian Games, are aiming for the gold medal.메이저사이트
After participating in the 2018 Jakarta-Palembang Asian Games, North Korea was punished by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) for not attending the 2020 Tokyo Olympics to prevent the inflow of COVID-19 into its country.
The disciplinary action was lifted on Jan. 1 this year, and North Korea sent 185 athletes across 18 sports to the event, a return to the international stage.

Day Eight of the BAT
Tumblr media
Eleven States. One Province. Eight Days. 3600+ miles.
We completed our first leg of the CC and JT Big A** Trip across America. We're bushed.
But we're excited to be in the wonderful state of Maine after leaving New York this morning, and after driving through Vermont and New Hampshire.
We started the day in Cooperstown, New York where "We Spent Too Much Money" (WSTMM) and we had a lot of fun touring the Baseball Hall of Fame and walking around the town. We woke up to find a fine soft mist blanketing the local fields.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Then it was off to Vermont and New Hampshire where we left the interstate highways as much as we could because we wanted more views like those above. The landscape is rich with farms and history, and has tall hills covered with trees of all colors. I know "idyllic" is an illusion because this area is home to some of the toughest and hardest-working people in the country, but from the outside looking in, it seems very peaceful and relaxing.
Tumblr media
We landed in Freeport, Maine which is the headquarters to LL Bean, and yes: WSTMM. On the other hand, we could have spent hundreds more because this store is their flagship, and we were told it is it is open 24/7/365. Wow. (Note the big boot.)
Tumblr media
We ended the day with the area's traditional cuisine of lobster. We were both too wicked tired to attack a full one, so CC had the mac and cheese with lobster, and I had a lobster roll. We ended with dessert from the local Ben and Jerry's (salted caramel blondie in a waffle cone, for the record). We had to waddle back to our room.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tomorrow, we get to the reason we are here: book research. We're headed to the Maine Historical Society and the Maine Maritime Museum. Only a few dozen miles of driving for now, but we're back on the road on Sunday for the second leg of our fun trip.
As always, you can continue to follow our journey by following the hashtags #ccandjt and #bat2024. Thanks much. LYL!

Gaming, Bengoo g9000 headset, A catchpenny headset, or a real bargain?
Tumblr media
Gaming Bengoo G9000 headset. $250 is the current least for a gaming device. Then it would help if you had a display, some games, and perhaps an off-brand console.
Can I at least skip the gaming headset? Is there a gaming headset at a special price with many great capabilities?
Many wonder what type everyone is buying these days. And they prefer it so much?
Let us answer for you: it is the G9000 Pro gaming headset from Bengoo.
Who exactly is Bengoo?
According to its website, it was founded in 2014. The G9000 Pro also appears to be one of their flagship products.
Their mission is to provide reliable customers. And also have affordable consumer electronic products, and they seem to be a young team. They also have headphones, mice, speakers, and keyboards.
And even a wireless PS4 controller. All at beautiful prices. So the company looks real.
Let us make it clear, as usual, that there is no product in the world that everyone agrees on.
Whether advantages or disadvantages. It is just standards that differ from one person to another.
There may be a product that suits you but does not suit someone else, and vice versa.
But the standard we always follow is the opinion of the majority. Once we like a product, we go to see the sales of that product.
Opinions of all people who have purchased. If the sales percentage is large.
Also, there are more positive opinions than negative ones. In this case, this product is very much worth buying and trying.
Why don't we try? All online purchasing sites allow me to refund the full amount paid. This is, of course, in case we don't like the product.
Without further ado, today we will talk about this wonderful product. G9000 Pro gaming headset from Bengoo.
We will convey to you the negatives and positives, and in the end, you are completely free to buy it or not.
They also have many types of gaming headsets, as you can see, at different prices, so you can choose between them.
Tumblr media
A few basics and pros of the Bengoo G9000 Pro gaming headset
First, let us show you, in pictures, the ranking of this product on Amazon. This is at the time of publishing the article; it may change depending on the time you read the article.
Ranked No. 20 sales The sales rate is 13,000 x 2,520 (MI). This is according to the Producer for Merch by Amazon tool.
This means that this product is very popular on Amazon. I mean, this thing sounds too good to be true.
Tumblr media
As for buyers' reviews, As shown in the picture, there are between 4.5 and 5 stars. This indicates that the rate of admiration for the product is very, very high.
Tumblr media
The headphone itself is made of mostly glossy ABS-like plastic.
Also, the foam is thick enough to keep it suspended from your brain case.
Additionally, the band is flexible and feels like it should be very durable. And there's also a thin metal band to reinforce it.
This brings us to the ear cups. Again, the foam is thick but very firm, which means it can create pressure points easily. Especially since the ear cups themselves can't be repositioned.
Also, the cover is made of faux leather material again and feels durable enough but not breathable at all. So, if you're not already a sweaty gamer, you'll be better off.
Additionally, it has a foldable, noise-isolating microphone. It also features a sleeved cable with a volume wheel. And a mic mute toggle that terminates in a four-pole gold-plated three-and-a-half millimeter jack combo. This is very useful for console players who connect their controllers.
Also, it includes a USB port. Well, this is a feature you'll probably never use on your console. Unless you go through the trouble of plugging a USB accessory into the side of your TV. Additionally, this USB port isn't just for lighting effects.
Also, most devices you want to use this on still have three-and-a-half millimeter jacks, and frankly. The Dak that Bengoo will include for that price is probably terrible anyway.
The only real problem with the USB port then is that I have to hang a plug on it to power the lights. Which I can't even see while I'm wearing them.
Also, a lot of users were speaking into the microphone. While other people were cleaning the house or whatever. Maybe they have a vacuum cleaner. They confirmed that it is completely soundproof. I'll let you guys be the judges.
Also, most of the four- and five-star reviews seem to say that people can hear clearly. So this could be a sign that G9000 Pro performance varies slightly from one unit to another.
Moving on to the high-star reviews, praise abounds for this product. What most people seem to like about these things, aside from their amazing value. Of course, these are the same things we did.
Volume control, microphone quality, durable construction, sound insulation, cable quality, and comfort. All of them are praised by many buyers.
Support PlayStation 4, New Xbox One, PC, Nintendo 3DS, Laptop, PSP, Tablet, iPad, Computer, Mobile Phone. Please note you need an extra Microsoft Adapter (Not Included) when connect with an old version Xbox One controller.
Here are some positive reviews from Amazon:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Cons of the Bengoo G9000 Pro Gaming Headset
The product delivery box does not contain protective foam.
Also, the air cups are very small.
Additionally, your ears will become warm if you wear these headphones for a long time.
Some hated the dual-cable design.
There are complaints of problems with the microphone. Or that the speakers are not working properly. Many of them hate the build quality. I don't know... I think it's possible that the friend accidentally had their laptop's microphone active or something. I mean, it didn't seem that bad for a lot of users.
As for the two- and three-star rating
There were some extra complaints here, though. About the cable becoming frayed and kinked over time
Also, poor-quality ear cushions Considering how bad the top end looks
There are some patterns in the complaints, such as that the ear cups are a bit small and the quality could be better. But one user said it well when they said, "My seven-year-old doesn't know any better and doesn't need any better." Yes, the ear cups are a little on the small side for some adult ears, unless you like headphones. But for younger players, I think it's fair to say that these are quite enough. The pinnacle of moderation
Here are some reviews

Remarks by the U.N. Secretary-General at the Medal Ceremonies - United Nations Peacekeepers Day 2023.
Excellencies, Ladies and gentlemen,
Moments ago, I laid a wreath at the Peacekeepers Memorial to honour the women and men who have sacrificed their lives while serving under the UN flag in support of the most important cause of all — peace.
We mourn their loss and share our deepest sympathies with their families, friends and colleagues.
We will never forget their contributions.
Please join me in a moment of silence in their memory.
 [PAUSE FOR SILENCE]
Thank you.
Every year, the International Day of United Nations Peacekeepers provides an opportunity to honour the women and men who are pursuing peace on the front lines in some of the world's most dangerous places.
But this year is special, as we commemorate 75 years of UN Peacekeeping.
What began as a bold experiment with the deployment of a small number of military observers to the Middle East in 1948 is now a flagship enterprise of our Organization.
Today, for civilians caught in the hell of conflict, our Blue Helmets are a beacon of hope and protection.
They support security, stability and the rule of law in host countries.
They represent the beating heart of the United Nations' commitment to peace.
By bringing peacekeepers together from around the world, peacekeeping has also become an inspiring symbol of multilateralism in action.
Our more than 87,000 peacekeepers hail from 125 countries, and work across 12 operations.
Standing together, they face a daunting array of rising global tensions and divides.
Conflicts are becoming more complex.
Peace processes are stagnating.
Terrorism, armed groups, gang violence, and transnational crime are poisoning communities, countries and entire regions.
And the digital world has become a frightening frontier of tension, division, hate and mis and disinformation.
Sadly, our peacekeepers are increasingly working in places where there is no peace to keep.
We must seriously reflect on the need for a new generation of peace-enforcement missions and counter-terrorism operations, led by our partners with a UN Security Council mandate under Chapter VII of the UN Charter, with guaranteed funding, namely through assessed contributions.
Despite all obstacles, our personnel persevere, risking their own lives in service of others.
Many have paid the ultimate price — with more than 4,200 killed in the cause of peace.
Sadly, 2022 added 103 more names to that honourable list.
Our fallen military, police and civilian personnel came from 39 different countries, with diverse backgrounds.
But all embodied our duty to peace.
I extend my deepest condolences and gratitude to their families, friends, colleagues and home countries represented here.
I pay tribute to their service and sacrifice, which inspire our work every day.
And I commit to doing everything we can to support our peacekeepers in their mission, including improving their safety and security and the effectiveness of peacekeeping through the Action for Peacekeeping Plus strategy.
We thank Member States and all partners for their commitment to this effort.
Excellencies, Ladies and gentlemen,
Today, we also mark the critical role that women play in bringing to life our commitment to peace.
Security Council Resolution 1325 on Women, Peace and Security is one of the most far-reaching the Council has ever passed.
This landmark resolution reminds us that there can be no lasting peace without involving women at every step.
But even today, many negotiating teams and peace processes are totally dominated by men.
It's up to all of us — governments, communities and local officials — to ensure that women play their full part, including as leaders, in building and maintaining peace.
Resolution 1325 reminds us that our women peacekeepers are not only supporting global peace and security.
They are leading the way.
By every measure, Captain Cecilia Erzuah of Ghana is one of those leaders.
Each year, we recognize the outstanding contribution of an individual military peacekeeper who goes above and beyond the call of duty to promote the principles of Resolution 1325.
Today, I proudly present the Military Gender Advocate of the Year Award to Captain Erzuah for her work in Abyei as the Commander of the Ghana Engagement Platoon since March 2022.
In Abyei, she saw first-hand the enormous toll of armed conflict on entire communities — especially women — and she spared no effort to ensure that their voices were heard and reflected.
The main function of the platoon she commands is to reach out to local communities to hear their concerns, explain the work of peacekeepers, and build trust.
Her engagement with local leadership, women's groups and young people has been critical to the mission's success.
She also hosted discussions on domestic violence and gender equality, which resulted in local women enlisting in Community Protection Committees that provide early warning on local security threats.
On every front, Captain Erzuah's work has set the standard for ensuring that the needs and concerns of women are reflected across our peacekeeping operations.
Dear friends,
As I've said many times before — and I will say many times again — the United Nations urgently needs more women peacekeepers and peacebuilders.
And so do the vulnerable people where our missions are deployed.
It's high time to significantly increase their numbers across every aspect of our work.
I thank Captain Erzuah and all women peacekeepers for their service and leadership.
And I thank you for joining us as we honour all peacekeepers for their vital work in serving humanity and building peace around the world.
Thank you.

What happened to Redmi K series in India & POCO F Series??
This blog was originally available on Revue (by Twitter) & was written back in June, 2022 before the launch of Redmi K50i,
As the Revue is getting discontinued, I am making this interesting thread available on Tumblr,
I have tried some alternative platforms to continue my blogs & finally decided to do that on Tumblr. This will be the place, where I will share the details which I can't share on any Community
My Twitter handle will be my primary platform to communicate with everyone & everything that I would do in other platforms will be shared to there.
Many of you must be wondering what Redmi is doing like literally after Redmi K20 Series launch in 2019, they are going to bring back Redmi K series as Redmi K50i in 2022 in India (it’s the renamed version of Redmi Note 11T Pro for India) & why POCO is rebranding original Redmi K phones under POCO F series, right?
Give me a chance, I am explaining what has actually happened in past few years. If you found this article useful, informative & interesting then please share to your friends & family members who might be interested in this.
Tumblr media
Why this has happened?
Xiaomi's thinking of flagship market in India: -
Redmi in India always had the plans to bring the successor of Redmi K20 Pro in India, as POCO had for POCO F1’s successor as in form of POCO F2 originally in 2019 (yes, you read it right) In Q1, 2020, we had the Covid outbreak throughout the country. Redmi K30 4G was introduced to India as POCO X2 for POCO’s comeback.
POCO F2 was originally planned
Long before, people had asked the Xiaomi team to bring flagships to Indian market. This had happened till Mi 5. But Xiaomi India wanted to focus on majority share of Indian Smartphone market which is in budget segment (>₹5k - ₹15k), so they established the identity of “M-I” as budget friendly brand & missed the great opportunity for flagship competition with OnePlus in India.
Observing people’s request for flagships priced at aggressive pricing Mi MIX 2 was introduced. But this didn’t set that great impact on the Indian industry. And for this Xiaomi India didn’t bring that much flagships till 2018, later in 2020 with the introduction of Mi 10 in Indian market, this thing got changed.
In 2018, to change the scenario POCO brand was introduced. F1 did that what we all know. Looking at the success of POCO F1, Xiaomi decided to do the same on with Redmi. So, they introduced Redmi as their 2nd sub brand after POCO during the launch event of Redmi Note 7 series in Q1 2019. (Source)
POCO was the reason for the birth of Redmi K
Redmi K series was introduced to walk on the same path of POCO F1. Few guys still don’t know that how “K20” word came up. This actually made up from “Flagship Killer 2.0”.
Tumblr media
youtube
POCO's point of view on this: -
Many people must not know that POCO F2 was a thing. Yes, it was planned to be launched back in 2019 in its original form. This was scheduled to happen just after Redmi K20 series India launch/ Mi 9T series global launch. After this device got launched to Global markets, few days later this was planned to be launched as Redmi K20S for Chinese market. But, very sadly this plan was cancelled. If this had happened, we shouldn’t be seeing POCO to be called as “rebranding brand”. We may have seen the alter reality.
I have covered POCO F2 in POCO Community India (Here’s the link of that thread, I have shared the details in here), and after getting the invitation for the beta testing of it, my first ever thread was on POCO F2 (by this I think you guys can get an idea how I am emotionally attached to POCO, I even had made this silly Tweet once, now don’t take this Tweet seriously 🙈🙈)
Tumblr media Tumblr media

POCO was also determined to re-enter the Indian & Global smartphone market.
Redmi in India always had the plans to bring the successor of Redmi K20 Pro in India. In Q1, 2020, we had the Covid outbreak throughout the country. Redmi K30 4G was introduced to India as POCO X2 for POCO’s comeback.
You guys must know that Redmi K30 Pro came to global markets as the POCO F2 Pro. But this wasn’t planned for Indian market. C Manmohan had said POCO F2 Pro won’t be coming to India & this won’t be POCO F1’s successor. (This is the source article confirming my statement. In this article you will see that C Manmohan had addressed this on an interview with Amit Bhawani.)
youtube
During a fan meet-up at this same time, Manu Kumar Jain had said that Redmi K30 Pro was coming to India as Redmi K30 Pro only. The source of this statement is from Techno Ruhez’s Tech news (at that time I didn’t know about Mi FCs & that the people in these FCs get chance to meet/ talk with Xiaomi officials, so after knowing this I joined the Mi FC Kolkata Telegram group actually🙈🙈. And during this time like a normal fellow, I used to watch Tech Youtuber’s contents daily)
Redmi K30 Pro was coming to India as Redmi K30 Pro only
But, as the Covid situations got worse & the lockdowns got extended, launching a ₹40K phone right after Mi 10 was big gamble for them.
Tumblr media
In an online meeting on Zoom, Manu Kumar Jain was talking about Redmi K30 Pro (Screenshot taken from YouTube)
youtube
At this time, many people came to online (who weren’t that much active on internet before), online classes, job meetings, more OTT contents consumption happened like never before. So, people preferred budget smartphones for this & it’s the same reason why Android Tablets are back again in the market.
So, observing the industry needs of that, Redmi K30 Pro was dropped for Indian market. Maybe Redmi K30 5G/ Redmi K30i could have been in their plans to bring as non pro version of Redmi K30 Pro in India, I don’t know about this.
Redmi K30 Series was planned to be launched for India
Even Mi Note 10, Note 10 Lite were in their plans for bringing in the Indian market, but this decision was also dropped.
They focused on budget Redmi 9 series & Note 9 series for the demand of public back in that time (and Mi Community India ban also happened by this).
Later Mi 10T series was brought to Indian market as to provide the essence of budget flagship (but it lacked Amoled for which it didn’t receive well response)
In the meantime, POCO originally had the plans to bring F1’s successor to India, introduce M series right after X2’s launch. But, Covid + Lockdown hit their plans. It’s believed that they had the plans for recreating POCO F2 for India. Redmi K30 Ultra was planned to be brought as the “POCO F2”.
But after observing the situation which wasn’t right in that moment, the plan was again dropped. Their main focus was to work on their biggest product for 2020 “POCO X3”. This is why C series was introduced. As the C series was introduced in the 3rd Generation, that’s why it has “POCO C3” naming. (If you guys follow me on Twitter, then you guys should have seen that I have explained their nomenclature & recently discussed about the updated naming scheme in their 4th Generation, I’m sharing the link of that Twitter thread)
C series wasn’t planned in the first place
Tumblr media
The things we started seeing from 2021: -
In early February 2021, Redmi K40 series was launched in mainland China. In March 2021, Redmi India introduced Redmi Note 10 Series Globally.
In this year, Xiaomi India had planned to differentiate their products in Xiaomi & Redmi brands.
I can still remember that we had been invited in the “Redmi Note 10 Series Indian launch Event Watch Party” which was happening on over a Zoom Call arranged by Gitansh Anand Sir.
After the Launch Event was done & all of us went wild after watching the prices of Redmi Note 10, Note 10 Pro, Note 10 Pro Max, a Q&A Session on these products was arranged with Raghu Reddy Sir (Ex CBO, Xiaomi India). In that session we were given a hint that “Redmi K40 Series was coming to India”.
Later you all know that Redmi K40 became POCO F3 for Global & Mi 11X for Indian market and Redmi K40 Pro+ became Mi 11i for Global & Mi 11X Pro for Indian market.
Finally, Redmi K40 Gaming got launched in Chinese market & this came to Indian market as POCO F3 GT.
Why rebranding happened?
From 4th generation of K series, Redmi made it as budget flagship with aggressive price point. Since in global markets the og “Xiaomi” phones & various accessories do sell well, that’s why og Xiaomi products work in global markets.
POCO Global introduced F3 as almost at the same price of Pocophone F1, they were able to utilise that opportunity. And POCO India had brought POCO X3 Pro as the successor to POCO F1, but to redefine POCO F, they needed to go with K40G as POCO F3 GT.
In other hand, Indian smartphone Industry has the mammoth share of market in “₹7k - ₹15K”, the >₹20K market has slightly evolved & people who were buying flagships were directly preferring phones >₹40K. Phones at ~₹50k were placed as flagships by Oneplus (iQOO wasn’t in the competition before this). If one was going up >₹55K, then people were preferring Samsung Galaxy S in Android & Apple iphones.
So, bringing actual Xiaomi branded Mi 11, Mi 11 Pro was like a gamble which Xiaomi India understood with Mi 10. So, budget flagships with aggressive pricing were their choice to go with. That’s why, Mi 11X series happened.
This is why we are watching og Redmi products in Indian market with either Xiaomi or POCO branding nowadays.
And for Global markets POCO is launching the Redmi Products with their customizations to bring in aggressive pricing.
POCO-Redmi was planned with POCO F2 - Redmi K20S from 2019
This is why we have now POCO F4 series.
Return of Redmi K in India: -
I have said in this blog that, Redmi India has always tried to bring the K series back to Indian market. But since, Redmi K series is flagship offering from “Redmi” brand, now Redmi in India can’t put the K in their desirable price point, this can become too much expensive & a crazy gamble in 2021 right after lockdowns of 2020.
So, finally in 2022 the Redmi K is coming back to India in the form of “Redmi K5Oi”. Here “i” stands for “India”, i.e., “i = For India”.
Well, this is an unreleased product at the time of my writing, so I should not be talking about it that much, but I can assure that in that price segment where it’s coming in, will be the “most powerfull smartphone” and gamer’s delight. For your kind information Redmi Note 11T Pro which is launched in Global markets as POCO X4 GT & this is coming as Redmi K50i in India.
This was also planned to be launched as POCO X4 GT in India as the successor to POCO X3 Pro’s performance icon, but Redmi needed this device to reboot K series for India.
Hope that you guys liked my blog & understand what has happened in past 3-4 years with POCO F & Redmi K. I also hope that you have understood why this happened. I tried my best to make this in simple language with interesting & informative presentation.
I have one request, if you guys liked & found this blog as helpful, please share this to your friends & family members who are also interested in Xiaomi & POCO.
I personally want all Xiaomi & POCO Fans to know about this Globally. I have explained those topics which used to be unknown/ not understandable to most of the people. Hope that everyone read this blog.

Xiaomi Declares the Mi 11: First Snapdragon 888 Tool
Tumblr media
Today Xiaomi held the Chinese launch announcement of the new Mi 11 – the company’s new mainstream flagship phone for 2021. The new phone features a new super-high-end OLED screen that ticks off every checkmark feature that you’d expect from a 2021 design, including 1440p resolution and 120Hz refresh rates, features the new Snapdragon 888 SoC at its heart – as well as comes in a new thinner, lighter, and more stylish industrial design compared to its predecessors. Xiaomi Mi Series   Mi 10 Mi 11 SoC Qualcomm Snapdragon 865  1x Cortex-A77 @ 2.84GHz 3x Cortex-A77 @ 2.42GHz 4x Cortex-A55 @ 1.80GHz Adreno 650 @ 587MHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 888  1x Cortex-X1 @ 2.84GHz 3x Cortex-A78 @ 2.42GHz 4x Cortex-A55 @ 1.80GHz Adreno 660 @ 747MHz DRAM 8GB LPDDR5-5500 8/12GB LPDDR5-6400 Display 6.67" AMOLED 2340 x 1080 (19.5:9) 90Hz Refresh   6.81" AMOLED 3200 x 1440 120Hz Refresh 480Hz Touch HDR10+ / 10-bit panel Size Height 162.58mm 164.3mm Width 74.80mm 74.6mm Depth 8.96mm 8.06mm Weight 208g 196g Battery Capacity 4780mAh (Typical) 30W Charging 4600mAh (Typical) 55W Charging Wireless Charging 30W 50W Rear Cameras Main 108MP 1/1.3" 0.8µm 4:1 Binning to 27MP / 1.6µm f/1.69 w/ OIS 108MP Module f/1.85 w/OIS Telephoto - 5MP 50mm eq. f/2.2 Extra Telephoto - - Ultra-Wide 13MP 1.12µm f/2.4 117° FoV 13MP f/2.4 123° FoV Extra 2MP Depth Camera 2MP Macro Camera - Front Camera 20MP 0.8µm f/2.3 f/2.2 Storage 128 / 256GB UFS 3.0 128 / 256GB I/O USB-C Wireless (local) 802.11ax (Wifi 6), Bluetooth 5.1 Cellular 4G + 5G NR NSA+SA Sub-6GHz Special Features Under-screen fingerprint sensor Full-range stereo speakers Splash, Water, Dust Resistance No rating Dual-SIM 2x nano-SIM Launch OS Android 10 w/ MIUI Android 11 w/ MIUI Launch Price 8+128GB: 799€ 8+256GB: 899€ ? At the heart of the new Mi 11 lies the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC. The new 5nm chip is the first to use Arm’s new Cortex-X1 cores, with Qualcomm also claiming large GPU performance boosts this generation. What’s more different from the previous Snapdragon 865 flagship design is that the new S888 reverts back to a monolithic SoC design that integrates the 5G modem back into the SoC – in turn this means that there’s more PCB component space in available inside the phone and vendors can optimise their designs better. The new Mi 11 also features either 8GB or 12GB of the new LPDDR5 memory at its full 3200MHz speed (6400MT/s), and comes in either 128GB or 256GB storage variants, although we’re missing details on the specifications of the modules used here.
Tumblr media
In terms of design, the new Mi 11 is quite a departure from the Mi 10, being a much sleeker device than its predecessor. Xiaomi has been able to reduce the bezels of the device on all sides, still using a curved front and back glass design that fits well into your palms. The new design is actually 0.9mm thinner than its predecessor, now coming in at 8.06mm, and also shaves 12g off its weight at 196g – still relatively heavy, but not as much as its predecessor. The most exciting feature of the Mi 11 has to be the new OLED screen. It’s grown a bit compared to its predecessor, filling in the space in place of the bezels, going from 6.67” to 6.81”, but the most important aspect of the phone is the fact that this is now a QHD class resolution at 3200 x 1440 – a first from Xiaomi OLED screen and a resolution we haven’t seen used by the company since back in the LCD days. Furthermore, this is a bleeding-edge display, featuring a 120Hz refresh rate, and is advertised as being a new generation 10-bit panel that also features up to 8192 brightness levels – pointing out to a new generation DDIC. The panel also is advertised as using a new next-generation emitter material, and Xiaomi claims it goes up to 1500 nits brightness, which is a notch above what we’ve seen from 2020 phones. Lastly, like a cherry on top of the cake, the panel features a staggering 480Hz touch input rate, which is the highest we’ve heard of in the mobile industry, and hopefully results in outstanding touch input and scrolling fluidity.
Tumblr media
Other features of the new design includes a redesigned camera setup, which transitions from a completely vertical camera arrangement to a new rounded square element with three camera modules. Instead of having a large camera bump edge and a single glass element protecting the whole camera arrangement, Xiaomi uses a three-step glass element, each thicker than the other, protecting the three cameras modules. It looks quite interesting and gives off a much more organic feel compared to other rectangular or more symmetric camera arrangements out there.
Tumblr media
Unfortunately for today’s announcement the Mi 11’s camera specifications were quite sparse. What we do know is that the main camera is again a 108MP module, similar to that of its predecessor, but we don’t know if it’s the exact same sensor, or a newer iteration. What we do know is that the optics are definitely different as the aperture now lands in at f/1.89 instead of f/1.69 – an actual positive change in my view as the optics of the Mi 10 was one of its main weaknesses. Alongside the main camera there’s a 13MP ultra-wide angle with a 123° FoV and F/2.4 aperture, as well as a 5MP 2x optical 50mm equivalent telephoto module with f/2.2. That latter module sounds a bit lacklustre – maybe we’ll see an eventual Mi 11 Pro with a stronger telephoto module. Today’s announcement covers the Chinese variant of the phone, with the global and European variants certainly to follow in the next few weeks. Pre-orders for the Chinese models start today with delivering going out the 1st of January, with the Mi 11 with an 8+128GB variant coming in at ¥3999.00, or USD $611. Western prices are certainly set to be different, but that’s already a quite promising start for the new flagship. • IJN Aircraft Carrier Hiryū
Hiryū (飛龍, "Flying Dragon") was an aircraft carrier built for the Imperial Japanese Navy (IJN) during the 1930s. Generally regarded as the only ship of her class, she was built to a modified Sōryū design.
Hiryū was one of two large carriers approved for construction under the 1931–32 Supplementary Program. Originally designed as the sister ship of Sōryū, her design was enlarged and modified in light of the Tomozuru and Fourth Fleet Incidents in 1934–1935 that revealed many IJN ships were top-heavy, unstable and structurally weak. Her forecastle was raised and her hull strengthened. Other changes involved increasing her beam, displacement, and armor protection. The ship had a length of 227.4 meters (746 ft 1 in) overall, a beam of 22.3 meters (73 ft 2 in) and a draft of 7.8 meters (25 ft 7 in). She displaced 17,600 metric tons (17,300 long tons) at standard load and 20,570 metric tons (20,250 long tons) at normal load. Her crew consisted of 1,100 officers and enlisted men. Hiryū was fitted with four geared steam turbine sets with a total of 153,000 shaft horsepower (114,000 kW). Hiryū carried 4,500 metric tons (4,400 long tons) of fuel oil which gave her a range of 10,330 nautical miles (19,130 km; 11,890 mi) at 18 knots (33 km/h; 21 mph). The boiler uptakes were trunked to the ship's starboard side amidships and exhausted just below flight deck level through two funnels curved downward.
The carrier's 216.9-meter (711 ft 7 in) flight deck was 27 meters (88 ft 6 in) wide and overhung her superstructure at both ends, supported by pairs of pillars. Hiryū was one of only two carriers ever built whose island was on the port side of the ship (Akagi was the other). It was also positioned further to the rear and encroached on the width of the flight deck, unlike Sōryū. The flight deck was only 12.8 meters (42 ft) above the waterline and the ship's designers kept this figure low by reducing the height of the hangars. The upper hangar was 171.3 by 18.3 meters (562 by 60 ft) and had an approximate height of 4.6 meters (15 ft); the lower was 142.3 by 18.3 meters (467 by 60 ft) and had an approximate height of 4.3 meters (14 ft). Together they had an approximate total area of 5,736 square meters (61,740 sq ft). This caused problems in handling aircraft because the wings of a Nakajima B5N "Kate" torpedo bomber could neither be spread nor folded in the upper hangar. Aircraft were transported between the hangars and the flight deck by three elevators, the forward one abreast the island on the centerline and the other two offset to starboard.
Hiryū's primary anti-aircraft (AA) armament consisted of six twin-gun mounts equipped with 12.7-centimeter Type 89 dual-purpose guns mounted on projecting sponsons, three on either side of the carrier's hull. When firing at surface targets, the guns had a range of 14,700 meters (16,100 yd); they had a maximum ceiling of 9,440 meters (30,970 ft) at their maximum elevation of +90 degrees. Their maximum rate of fire was 14 rounds a minute, but their sustained rate of fire was approximately eight rounds per minute. The ship was equipped with two Type 94 fire-control directors to control the 12.7-centimeter (5.0 in) guns, one for each side of the ship; the starboard-side director was on top of the island and the other director was positioned below flight deck level on the port side. The ship's light AA armament consisted of seven triple and five twin-gun mounts for license-built Hotchkiss 25 mm Type 96 AA guns. Two of the triple mounts were sited on a platform just below the forward end of the flight deck. Hiryū had a waterline belt with a maximum thickness of 150 millimeters (5.9 in) over the magazines that reduced to 90 millimeters (3.5 in) over the machinery spaces and the gas storage tanks. It was backed by an internal anti-splinter bulkhead. The ship's deck was 25 millimeters (0.98 in) thick over the machinery spaces and 55 millimeters (2.2 in) thick over the magazines and gas storage tanks.
Following the Japanese ship-naming conventions for aircraft carriers, Hiryū was named "Flying Dragon". The ship was laid down at the Yokosuka Naval Arsenal on July 8th, 1936, launched on November 16th, 1937 and commissioned on July 5th, 1939. She was assigned to the Second Carrier Division on November 15th. In September 1940, the ship's air group was transferred to Hainan Island to support the Japanese invasion of French Indochina. In February 1941, Hiryū supported the blockade of Southern China. Two months later, the 2nd Carrier Division, commanded by Rear Admiral Tamon Yamaguchi, was assigned to the First Air Fleet, or Kido Butai, on April 10th. Hiryū returned to Japan on August 7th and began a short refit that was completed on September 15th. She became flagship of the Second Division from September 22nd to October 26th while Sōryū was refitting. In November 1941, the IJN's Combined Fleet, commanded by Admiral Isoroku Yamamoto, prepared to participate in Japan's initiation of a formal war with the United States by conducting a preemptive strike against the United States Navy's Pacific Fleet base at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. On November 22nd, Hiryū, commanded by Captain Tomeo Kaku, and the rest of the Kido Butai, under Vice Admiral Chuichi Nagumo and including six fleet carriers from the First, Second, and Fifth Carrier Divisions, assembled in Hitokappu Bay at Etorofu Island. The fleet departed Etorofu, and followed a course across the north-central Pacific to avoid commercial shipping lanes. Now the flagship of the Second Carrier Division, the ship embarked 21 Mitsubishi A6M Zero fighters, 18 Aichi D3A "Val" dive bombers, and 18 Nakajima B5N "Kate" torpedo bombers. From a position 230 nmi (430 km; 260 mi) north of Oahu, Hiryū and the other five carriers launched two waves of aircraft on the morning of December 7th, 1941 Hawaiian time. In the first wave, 8 B5N torpedo bombers were supposed to attack the aircraft carriers that normally berthed on the northwest side of Ford Island, but none were in Pearl Harbor that day; 4 of the B5N pilots diverted to their secondary target, ships berthed alongside "1010 Pier" where the fleet flagship was usually moored. That ship, the battleship Pennsylvania, was in drydock and its position was occupied by the light cruiser Helena and the minelayer Oglala; all four torpedoes missed. The other four pilots attacked the battleships West Virginia and Oklahoma. The remaining 10 B5Ns were tasked to drop 800-kilogram (1,800 lb) armor-piercing bombs on the battleships berthed on the southeast side of Ford Island ("Battleship Row") and may have scored one or two hits on them, in addition to causing a magazine explosion aboard the battleship Arizona that sank her with heavy loss of life. The second wave consisted of 9 Zeros and 18 D3As, They strafed the airfield, and shot down two Curtiss P-40 fighters attempting to take off when the Zeros arrived and a Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress heavy bomber that had earlier diverted from Hickam Army Airfield, and also destroyed a Stinson O-49 observation aircraft on the ground for the loss of one of their own. The D3As attacked various ships in Pearl Harbor, but it is not possible to identify which aircraft attacked which ship.
While returning to Japan after the attack, Vice Admiral Chūichi Nagumo, commander of the First Air Fleet, ordered that Sōryū and Hiryū be detached on December 16th to attack the defenders of Wake Island who had already defeated the first Japanese attack on the island. The two carriers reached the vicinity of the island on December 21st and launched 29 D3As and 2 B5Ns, escorted by 18 Zeros, to attack ground targets. They encountered no aerial opposition and launched 35 B5Ns and 6 A6M Zeros the following day. The carriers arrived at Kure on 29 December. They were assigned to the Southern Force on January 8th, 1942 and departed four days later for the Dutch East Indies. The ships supported the invasion of the Palau Islands and the Battle of Ambon, attacking Allied positions on the island on January 23rd with 54 aircraft. Four days later the carriers detached 18 Zeros and 9 D3As to operate from land bases in support of Japanese operations in the Battle of Borneo. Hiryū and Sōryū arrived at Palau on January 28th and waited for the arrival of the carriers Kaga and Akagi. All four carriers departed Palau on February 15th and launched air strikes against Darwin, Australia, four days later. Hiryū contributed 18 B5Ns, 18 D3As, and 9 Zeros to the attack. Her aircraft attacked the ships in port and its facilities, sinking or setting on fire three ships and damaging two others. Hiryū and the other carriers arrived at Staring Bay on Celebes Island on February 21st to resupply and rest before departing four days later to support the invasion of Java. On March 1st, 1942, the ship's D3As damaged the destroyer USS Edsall badly enough for her to be caught and sunk by Japanese cruisers. Later that day the dive bombers sank the oil tanker USS Pecos. Two days later, they attacked Christmas Island and Hiryū's aircraft sank the Dutch freighter Poelau Bras before returning to Staring Bay on March 11th to resupply and train for the impending Indian Ocean raid.
On March 26th, the five carriers of the First Air Fleet departed from Staring Bay; they were spotted by a Catalina about 350 nautical miles (650 km; 400 mi) southeast of Ceylon on the morning of April 4th. Six of Hiryū's Zeros were on Combat Air Patrol (CAP) and helped to shoot it down. Hiryū contributed 18 B5Ns and 9 Zeros to the force; the latter encountered a flight of 6 Fairey Swordfish torpedo bombers from 788 Naval Air Squadron en route and shot them all down without loss. The Japanese aircraft encountered defending Hawker Hurricane fighters from Nos. 30 and 258 Squadrons RAF over Ratmalana airfield and Hiryū's fighters claimed to have shot down 11 with 3 Zeros damaged, although the fighters from the other carriers also made claims. On the morning of April 9th, Hiryū's CAP shot down another Catalina attempting to locate the fleet and, later that morning, contributed 18 B5Ns, escorted by 6 Zeros, to the attack on Trincomalee. The fighters engaged 261 Squadron RAF, claiming to have shot down two with two more shared with fighters from the other carriers. On April 19th, while transiting the Bashi Straits between Taiwan and Luzon en route to Japan, Hiryū, Sōryū, and Akagi were sent in pursuit of the American carriers Hornet and Enterprise, which had launched the Doolittle Raid against Tokyo. They found only empty ocean, as the American carriers had immediately departed the area to return to Hawaii. The carriers quickly abandoned the chase and dropped anchor at Hashirajima anchorage on April 22nd. Having been engaged in constant operations for four and a half months, the ship, along with the other three carriers of the First and Second Carrier Divisions, was hurriedly refitted and replenished in preparation for the Combined Fleet's next major operation, scheduled to begin one month hence. While at Hashirajima, Hiryū's air group was based ashore at Tomitaka Airfield, near Saiki, Ōita, and conducted flight and weapons training with the other First Air Fleet carrier units.
Concerned by the US carrier strikes in the Marshall Islands, Lae-Salamaua, and the Doolittle raids, Yamamoto was determined to force the US Navy into a showdown to eliminate the American carrier threat. He decided to invade and occupy Midway Atoll, which he was sure would draw out the American carriers to defend it. The Japanese codenamed the Midway invasion Operation MI. Unknown to the Japanese, the US Navy had divined the Japanese plan by breaking its JN-25 code and had prepared an ambush using its three available carriers, positioned northeast of Midway. On May 25th, 1942, Hiryū set out with the Combined Fleet's carrier striking force in the company of Kaga, Akagi, and Sōryū, which constituted the First and Second Carrier Divisions, for the attack on Midway. Her aircraft complement consisted of 18 Zeros, 18 D3As, and 18 B5Ns. on June 4th, 1942, Hiryū's portion of the 108-plane airstrike was an attack on the facilities on Sand Island with 18 torpedo bombers, one of which aborted with mechanical problems, escorted by nine Zeros. The air group suffered heavily during the attack: two B5Ns were shot down by fighters, with a third falling victim to AA fire. The carrier also contributed 3 Zeros to the total of 11 assigned to the initial CAP over the four carriers. By 07:05, the carrier had 6 fighters with the CAP which helped to defend the Kido Butai from the first US attackers from Midway Island at 07:10. Hiryū reinforced the CAP with launches of 3 more Zeros at 08:25. These fresh Zeros helped defeat the next American air strike from Midway. Although all the American air strikes had thus far caused negligible damage, they kept the Japanese carrier forces off-balance as Nagumo endeavored to prepare a response to news, received at 08:20, of the sighting of American carrier forces to his northeast.
Hiryū began recovering her Midway strike force at around 09:00 and finished shortly by 09:10. The landed aircraft were quickly struck below, while the carriers' crews began preparations to spot aircraft for the strike against the American carrier forces. The preparations were interrupted at 09:18, when the first attacking American carrier aircraft were sighted. Hiryū launched another trio of CAP Zeros at 10:13 after Torpedo Squadron 3 (VT-3) from Yorktown was spotted. Two of her Zeros were shot down by Wildcats escorting VT-3 and another was forced to ditch. While VT-3 was still attacking Hiryū, American dive bombers arrived over the Japanese carriers almost undetected and began their dives. It was at this time, around 10:20, that in the words of Jonathan Parshall and Anthony Tully, the "Japanese air defenses would finally and catastrophically fail." Three American dive bomber squadrons now attacked the three other carriers and set each of them on fire. Hiryū was untouched and proceeded to launch 18 D3As, escorted by six Zeros, at 10:54. Yamaguchi radioed his intention to Nagumo at 16:30 to launch a third strike against the American carriers at dusk (approximately 18:00), but Nagumo ordered the fleet to withdraw to the west. At this point in the battle, Hiryū had only 4 air-worthy dive-bombers and 5 torpedo-planes left. She also retained 19 of her own fighters on board as well as a further 13 Zeros on CAP (a composite force of survivors from the other carriers). At 16:45, Enterprise's dive bombers spotted the Japanese carrier and began to maneuver for good attacking position while reducing altitude. Hiryū was struck by four 1,000-pound (450 kg) bombs, three on the forward flight deck and one on the forward elevator. The explosions started fires among the aircraft on the hangar deck. The forward half of the flight deck collapsed into the hangar while part of the elevator was hurled against the ship's bridge. The fires were severe enough that the remaining American aircraft attacked the other ships escorting Hiryū, albeit without effect, deeming further attacks on the carrier as a waste of time because she was aflame from stem to stern. Beginning at 17:42, two groups of B-17s attempted to attack the Japanese ships without success, although one bomber strafed Hiryū's flight deck, killing several anti-aircraft gunners. Although Hiryū's propulsion was not affected, the fires could not be brought under control. At 21:23, her engines stopped, and at 23:58 a major explosion rocked the ship. The order to abandon ship was given at 03:15, and the survivors were taken off by the destroyers Kazagumo and Makigumo. Yamaguchi and Kaku decided to remain on board as Hiryū was torpedoed at 05:10 by Makigumo as the ship could not be salvaged. Around 07:00, one of Hōshō's Yokosuka B4Y aircraft discovered Hiryū still afloat and not in any visible danger of sinking. The aviators could also see crewmen aboard the carrier, men who had not received word to abandon ship. They finally launched some of the carrier's boats and abandoned ship themselves around 09:00. Thirty-nine men made it into the ship's cutter only moments before Hiryū sank around 09:12, taking the bodies of 389 men with her. The loss of Hiryū and the three other IJN carriers at Midway, comprising two thirds of Japan's total number of fleet carriers and the experienced core of the First Air Fleet, was a strategic defeat for Japan and contributed significantly to Japan's ultimate defeat in the war. In an effort to conceal the defeat, the ship was not immediately removed from the Navy's registry of ships, instead being listed as "unmanned" before finally being struck from the registry on 25 September 1942. The IJN selected a modified version of the Hiryū design for mass production to replace the carriers lost at Midway. Of a planned program of 16 ships of the Unryū class, only 6 were laid down and 3 were commissioned before the end of the war.

Magnificent Scoundrels- Battle Above the Citadel
While the battle on the ground rages on, the battle in space is a bit more... lopsided.  This me giving you the contents of a space battle and how the different factions operate.  Hope you like it.
“There is nothing as beautiful and deadly as a battleship’s broadside.”
Aboard the Chimaera
Captain Faro paced on the sleek black deck of the Chimaera’s bridge.  Her gloved hands clasped neatly behind her back, green uniform immaculately pressed, and brown hair pulled back into a neat ponytail, she was every inch the model Imperial Navy officer, inside and outside.  Grand Admiral Thrawn had personally chosen her to command his ship after his elevation to the rank of Admiral, and she had not let him down once.  Today would be no exception.
The chatter of various deck officers, stationed below her, reached her ears.  The attacking fleet was within range.  She allowed herself a small smile.  Good.
“TIEs are to retain holding patterns around the fleet.  I do not want them out there unsupported,” she said.  The TIE Wing Commander nodded his ascent.
“Yes, Captain,” he replied.  She turned to the other divot in the command deck where additional officers were stationed.
“Gunnery Officer?”
“Yes, Captain?”
“Are the main batteries in range,” she asked.  Of course, she already knew the answer.
“Yes, Captain,” saluted the Gunnery Officer.  She gave a slight nod.
“You may fire when ready.”  Nothing more was needed from her.  Both she and Thrawn ran a tight ship.  The comms chatter of the gunnery officers and mates reached her ears.
“Main batteries in range,” reported the Gunnery Chief of the four massive starboard turbo-laser batteries.
“You may fire when ready,” replied the Gunnery Officer.
“Secondary batteries in range,” reported a Gunnery Mate.
“You may fire when ready.”  Not a single ounce of emotion in the Gunnery Officer’s voice.  Faro nodded her approval.
“Tertiary batteries in range.”
“Hold fire until you reach optimal range.”
“Point defense batteries out of range.”  No surprise there.  Not a single ship of the attack fleet seemed to want to close distance with the three massive Star Destroyers.  Pity, actually.  Then again, no sane commander of a capital ship would ever want to go broadside to broadside with an Imperial Star Destroyer…  Faro was snapped out of her tangent by the voice of the Gunnery Chief over the comms.
“Starboard turbo-lasers: commence firing.  Target: frigate-class ship designate target delta five-zero-oh.”
The four massive turrets rotated slightly in their stations, locking on to a pitifully small ship in the distance.  Captain Faro felt her pulse rise slightly.  There was nothing, nothing, that could compare to the full might of a Destroyer’s guns tearing into enemies.
With a suddenness that astounded, the turbo-lasers spat green bolts of death into the void.  The four gun barrels of each turret fired only once, as the bolts travelled with a speed that astounded to their targets.  They passed through the frigate’s shields as if they did not exist, straight through the ship’s sturdy armor plating, and blew it apart.  There was no need for a second volley.  The frigate ceased to exist with only one.
Faro sighed to herself.  This was unbecoming of a Destroyer Captain of her stature.  Swatting flies with guns powerful enough to melt moons.  Ridiculous.  Still, it was what Grand Admiral Thrawn commanded, and so it was done without question or hesitation.
Aboard the Enterprise
Spock watched with fascination as the combined fleets of the various governments present at the Citadel engaged the enemy.  It was… ridiculously easy, to put it bluntly.  This mass of disorganized attackers in all sorts of mis-matched ships were no contest for the pride of at least fifteen galaxy-spanning navies.  He only gave the occasional command to the bridge crew.  They did their jobs well; not much need for direction.  What he was interested in was how each of the different navies fought and how their starships worked.
He saw the Normandy zip through space with all the elegance of a fighter craft.  Sleek and elegant, it fired a twin pair of cannons mounted beneath the hull, promptly vaporizing an attacking ship.  The navies of the Citadel races kept their distance, using tactics similar to Starfleet ones.  Spock nodded his silent approval.  The weapons from this galaxy were all railgun types, if, of course, a railgun could ever describe something as sophisticated and powerful as an Element Zero mass-driven weapon.  From what Spock understood, they used this Element Zero to propel small particles at astounding speeds, quite similar in theory as a railgun.  Their ships, thus, used massive kinetic barrier shields, designed to stop physical projectiles.
That particular type of shielding came at a massive disadvantage when facing the heavy laser batteries of Imperial and New Republic ships, though.  The weapons from that particular galaxy all used ionized gasses to create powerful lasers, which completely ignored physical shields.  Spock winced as the main batteries of the Chimaera fired, promptly vaporizing a fair sized attacking starship.  The two were distinctly different, he mused, with one using all physical weapons and the other using only energy weapons.  The shields of the vessels from that galaxy were only designed to stop energy weapons, something that came back to bite them when the heavy guns of one of the larger attacking ships scoured twin holes in the flank of a Destroyer.  Didn’t put it out of commission, though.  You’d need a lot more firepower to do that.
The starships of the UNSC, Galactic Assembly and the singular Apocalypse seemed to operate on very similar principles.  They had physical shields, and the ships from both galaxies used long range rail- and coil-guns in tandem with heavy missile batteries.  Not quite as effective as the massive turbo-lasers at blowing the hell out of genetically-shielded starships, but it worked.
Then, of course, there was the Watch Eternal.  Unlike the sleek and lighting-quick ships of the Citadel, or the technological masterworks of the Starfleet, or the heavy energy weapons of the New Republic or the Galactic Empire, or, even, the balanced yet deadly payloads of the UNSC, GA, or Merchant's Guild, the massive, cathedral-like behemoth operated on one principle, and one principle only: sheer, unaldurated power.  There were no quirks, no tactics, no maneuverability, only power on a level that simply astounded the Enterprise’s First Officer.  He had watched all the different ships of the allied fleets, taking readings from all of them and observing what they could do.  When the Eternal had raised shields, several of the bridge crews’ mouths had dropped open.  The wattage that had gone into those shields was more than some of the Starfleet ships could get from their reactors, period.  The shields themselves were not sleek, or designed to hug every curve of the ship.  Instead, they were a massive bubble of energy, projected into the space around the ship, designed to deflect physical projectiles, energy projectiles, and enemy sensor readings alike.  Spock looked over at the belfries and massive Aquilia statues with distaste.  He did not like the ship, nor the government it was in service to, but he could not deny it was, in a brutish, barbarian way, very deadly.
Aboard the Watch Eternal
Captain Striecher sat on his command throne, as he had every day for the past five decades.  His physical body had almost wasted away, only surviving through the nutrients he took in from the tubes connecting him to the ship.  His physical body, however, did not matter.  His mind could see every system, every weapon, every inch of the mighty starship’s systems and control them with merely a thought.  He was in his element.
Void shields online.  Long range macro-cannons online and operating at full capacity.  Point defense macro-cannons online and operating at full capacity.  Starboard broadside lance batteries online and fully operational.  Port broadside lance batteries online and fully operational.  Forward heavy lances online and fully operational.  Torpedoes loaded.  Heavy missile batteries online, loaded, and locked onto targets.  Underside macro-cannons, torpedo tubes, and lance batteries online and ready for orbital bombardment.  He took in all of this at once, and discarded it.  The Inquisitors wanted something more than the simple destruction of the attacking fleet.  They wanted information.
Striecher mentally activated the multi-faction comms channel that the Scoundrels were oh-so helpful to set up.
“All ships, this is the Watch Eternal.  Do not fire upon the flagship of the attacking fleet.  That one is ours,” he commanded.  His voice was the one part of his body that he did not allow to wither.  He still needed it.  A chorus of acknowledgements came through the channel, some rather confused.  It didn’t matter.  No one would fire on the cruiser that served as the attacking fleet’s flagship.
Deep in the bowels of the massive ship, Watch Captain Kaes and his Kill Team stood in the teleportarium.  A dozen serfs and tech-priests tended to the esoteric machines in the room.  The lighting was dim, but such trivialities did not bother the transhuman super-soldiers of the Deathwatch or their augmented servants.
“We teleport in, get the data from the enemy flagship’s cognators, as per the Inquisitors’ instructions, then teleport out.  Anyone aboard the ship is to be terminated on sight.  Clear?”  The room shook with the acknowledgements of a dozen voices, amplified through their power armor.
“Clear!”
“Good.”  The Captain turned to the lead tech-priest.  “Magos.  We stand ready.”  The blank faceplate of the techpriest nodded back.
“May the Omnissiah bless your endeavour.”  The priest (Kaes couldn’t tell if it was originally a man or woman beneath the robes and augmetics and suspected it didn’t really matter) turned and flipped a heavy switch.  “Stand by to teleport.”
Aboard the Beyond
Captain Melos chewed his lower lip nervously as he watched the attack fleet, his fleet, get completely annihilated.  He was chosen to lead this assault, and, dammit, he was failing.   The Beyond was a powerful cruiser, built in secret, thought to be powerful enough to lead the assault force to take on the Citadel Fleet.  Only, the Fleet had been beefed up by Commander John bloody Shepard.  Even then, he might have confused them enough to have the ground agents on the Citadel take over, but no.  There were at least thirty starships that could match or outgun his beloved Beyond, not counting the trimultive of triangular super-dreadnaughts or the utterly massive cathedral… thing.  Dammit.
Melos’s fleet was in ruins.  He would not be pleased.  Melos didn’t know what he would tell him.  Hopefully he would be merciful… but mercy wouldn’t count for much if Melos was dead in the first place.  He was about to turn to his crew, to tell them to get out of Citadel space, when a strange feeling overtook him.  It was like the pressure before a thunderstorm, only much, much worse.  Several of his lieutenants blinked heavily or clutched their heads at the unexpected feeling, seeking to dispel it.  It lasted only for a moment, then…
A massive crack of displacing air sounded, and suddenly, there was a group of giants in their midst.  At least eight feet tall, they all wore heavy black armor and clutched various, utterly terrifying weapons.  Red lenses swept the bridge crew for a moment, and, before anyone could react, the giants lept into action.  Two leapt left, two right, moving faster than anything that big had any right to.  They lashed out with swords of all things, energy fields crackling around blades and horrible chain-teeth whirring.  The bridge crew died in seconds, completely unprepared for an attack of this sort.
Melos took all this in with horror, then realized the leader of the terrible giants, wearing a cloak and much more ornate armor, was stepping towards him.  He whimpered, and tried to take a step back, but his legs failed him as he stood there, terrified beyond belief.
Watch Captain Kaes disdained to use the colossal halberd in his right hand, instead picking up the captain of the ship with his massive left gauntlet.  He squeezed, crushing the man’s head as easily as a normal human crushing an aluminum can.  He sighed to himself.  Too easy.  Several shots sounded behind him as his rear guard gunned down a few crewmen trying to make it to the bridge.  He nodded at another Marine, this one with several robotic arms hanging from a pack on his back.
“Won’t take but a second, Watch Captain,” said the Marine, moving up to the ship’s computers.  The Captain and the men who had slaughtered the bridge crew waited, impassive in their armor, as their technological expert’s gauntlets flew across the computer keys, muttering about “bloody mortals and their too-small holographic keyboards.”  Twenty seconds and none dead crew members later, the tech expert nodded.
“We’re good to go,” he stated as he walked up to the Captain.
“Brothers,” said the Captain, and the rest of the Marines stood next to him, the rear guard’s weapons still pointed at the bridge exit where a few crew members cowered out of line of sight.
“Magos.  Our mission is complete.  Ready to teleport,” said the Captain.  In lieu of a response, the Marines vanished in a thunderclap of dissipating air, their mission complete.  The mighty guns of the Watch Eternal erased any trace of their presence as red beams struck the Beyond, vaporizing it.  The Inquisitors would be most intrigued to see inside information on how this galaxy operated.
There we have it.  Hope you enjoyed the story.  If you have any questions, comments, concerns, criticisms, or requests, feel free to ask!  Wherever you are, have a great day!

(I’ve been thinking about it for a while, but one verse I definitely want to explore in future is the inevitable destruction of Mary Geoise as the world comes together under the flagship of the Revolutionary Army in order to depose the Celestial Dragons from their heavenly thrones and end their thousand year long reign. With so many people that hold righteous anger against them, I can definitely see things ending badly for Saint Rosward and Charlos whom have both committed unspeakable atrocities against countless people...)
In such a verse, Shalria would barely manage to escape being killed by her family’s former slaves and eventually would find herself alone and wounded in the world below, now having nothing to her name except maybe a few possessions she managed to steal away before fleeing her mountain homeland - most important of all being a Devil Fruit her father had bought some months earlier, specifically the Yuki Yuki no Mi having since returned to circulation after Monet’s death at Punk Hazard. Originally it was planned to have been given to a slave to see what kind of powers it would bestow but the Revolutionary Army invaded and brought down Mary Geoise before that could happen. Now being the last remaining item in Shalria’s possession, she’s forced to eat it in hopes of becoming strong enough to survive in this harsh new world and in doing so becomes a Snow Logia, the ‘polar’ opposite to Sabo’s Mera Mera no Mi. Though she’s still weak and frail in human form, the former Celestial Dragon has now regained some small power what with becoming the embodiment of an eternal winter. No amount of ice and snow can cool the sheer hatred burning in her heart against the rest of the world for destroying her homeland and slaughtering her beloved family like cattle, so Shalria eventually makes her move towards her family’s ancestral kingdom - being none other than Drum Island.
It would be the coldest day on record when a white dragon with scales gleaming like snow would descend from high, people thinking it to have been born from the heart of the blizzard. Far colder days would lie ahead however, as a new entity known only as the White Witch now threatens the peaceful kingdom through a never-ending winter...
