Living in a predominantly black southern city sometimes makes you forget you stay in racist states. It’s almost like living on your own island……. until elections lol

Something else I've been thinking about is how common it is for one group of people to speak for the rest of the group they belong to.
Specifically, about the hierarchy of oppression within different spaces and how those at the top (with the most privilege) get to decide which issues get addressed and are the most important/valid
Let's be real, whether thats the LGBT community, feminists, liberals, leftists, etc it's happening. And 9x out of 10 the people at the top suffer the least (obviously).
My point though, is how those people will look at their experiences and look at members of their community and decide that the only oppression worth addressing is the oppression that the Top group shares with everyone else. They make themselves out to be representatives and speak as if the varied levels of oppression that the other community members face are just extra problems that don't need to be addressed just because they (the Top group) don't share that oppression.
With queer people the people who decided what the focus was were cis white gays: gay marriage was the focus.
With women the people who decided what the focus was were cis white women: abortion
With liberals the people who decided what their focus was were cis white folk: voting blue no matter who
With leftists the people who decided what the focus was were cishet white men: classism
With ND people the people who decided what the focus was were cis & white: normalizing adhd-tism
You may have noticed that the Deciding Groups have some things in common.
Now let's consider: who is the least oppressed group of people on earth. Who are the most.
Now what does it say from an anti-racist, anti-white supremacy perspective that white folk across the board are speaking over and refusing to listen/address the very literal life or death struggles BIPOC face in favor of getting their entire community to focus on what impacts them the most? What does it say about white folk when they look at dying BIPOC and say to their audience "don't look at them, look at me, I'm the representative. Give me the protections"
This to say that I think white supremacy is still very much alive and well and it's done a good job of covertly getting the entire country (even the "good" guys in blue) to aid and abet the ongoing genocide and racism of BIPOC.
The inherent nature of white folk to center their own experiences within any space they occupy is white supremacy. The ability to disregard intersectionality or prioritize problems they don't face is white supremacy.
I don't think it's always done consciously or intentionally because 99% of y'all haven't deconstructed your internalized white supremacy enough to be aware of all the ways it manifests, but when you put a laser focus on the issues that matter and what matters is You before anyone else... That's white supremacy babe.
And honestly, white supremacy found a very good hiding spot within white liberal mindsets because white folks are so good at being victims and gaslighting that it becomes damn near impossible to argue that we shouldn't be talking about issues They face without sounding like you hate whatever community they belong to.
Like isn't it so interesting that when trying to challenge those priorities you get called a Republican, dummy, cunt, bigot, fascist who doesn't want the next step of "progress"? How "we can worry about that later right now we should be fighting against (the only oppression they face as a white person)." And "We all face this why shouldn't it be a priority?! Life would improve for all of us! Be rational."
its all just the woke-remix to silence BIPOC.

Mid-Terms Voting Hype
Tumblr media
Don’t Vote, Boo!
Stephen Jay Morris

Scientific Morality©
People like me, who are of the ultra Left, do not vote. Well, I say: Its there! Its free of charge! Why not?
It used to be that electoral politics was a dull affair; something that adults did. I remember how the nightly news was a bore fest. Back in the stone age, there were Liberals in the Republican party. Really? No shit! There were also Conservatives in the Democratic party. George Putnam, the Los Angeles news broadcaster who was as conservative as they come, was a registered Democrat. War hero and California congressman, Pete McCloskey, was a liberal Republican. He was the only Republican who was opposed to the Vietnam war.
In most other countries, there is typically only one political party. That’s what’s known as a “monopoly.” Here in the greatest country in God’s multiverse—America—we are have a duopoly! Yeah! The two-party system. That was never mandated in the U.S. Constitution, mind you. So, which of the two is the evil party? Some say it’s the communist Democratic Party. Others say the fascist Republican party. And there you have it: the distance into which American politics has degenerated.
For well over a year now, we’ve heard so much hype about the upcoming, mid-term elections. In years past, the only election that mattered to most was the presidential. Like I’ve said many times before: the American people don’t vote in state or local elections; why should they vote in the mid-terms?
I am not going to lecture you on the importance of voting. Consequences are consequences. Now, however, the two parties are sensationalizing these mid-terms. Those on the Right are telling you that we will become a communist nation should the Democrats get your vote, and the so-called Left are saying that if you do not vote, fascism will come to the land of the free! I think the Democrats are laying it on thick this time around. So, I will say this: you can’t stop totalitarianism by voting! So, let me tell you a story.
This story is factual and true. In 1970 Chile—a South American country—there was a democratically-elected president. He was a Marxist and a proud Socialist. His name was Salvador Allende, the 28th president of Chile. His approval ratings were high among the peasants. The rich hated his guts. This was the first time in history that Socialism was voted in peacefully, without a shot fired.
Well, the U.S. State Department was shitting bricks! President Nixon wanted bloodshed! The CIA had a plan. At the time, the CIA was more anti-Communist than the John Birch Society. All they did was fight communists! They would install Islamic dictators solely to stop communist insurrectionists. And what did we get for that effort? Can you say 9-11?
Speaking of 9-11, let’s return to the crux of my story. The CIA infiltrated the Chilean military. Guess what happened on September 11, 1973? President Salvador Allende was assassinated by Chilean troops. The conservative press claimed he committed suicide, but he’d been riddled with bullets and died instantly. General Augusto Pinochet became the new dictator. He implemented a campaign against peasant Socialists by imprisonment or death. This U.S.-backed dictatorship lasted until 1981.
So, what’s the moral of my story? Voting is essential, but it is not enough. Activism and non-violent protests help, too. If the Republicans have a slew of candidates who win control of Congress or the Senate, it won’t mean the end of American freedom. It will be the beginning of a new, anti-Authoritarian Left revolution! Help is waiting, like the fire department is waiting for a fire.
So, my friends, go vote! And my enemies—why bother? You should just stay home and clean your guns for the next Civil War.

You will never hear me support a Republican in my life, but I hope with my entire soul that Lisa Murkowski wins the Alaskan senate race. She was one of the only Republicans who actually voted to convict Trump, and she was recently 1 of 12 Republicans who voted to break the filibuster on the interracial and same-sex marriage bill going through congress. Her opponent is an extremist Trump thumper, through and through. If Alaska’s gonna be red no matter what, then the least I can hope for is that it’s a sane shade of it.

Women's rights to be in control of body and reproductive rights are so important. I really do hope for the sake of my American friends that this anti-choice rhetoric from the conservative / Republican side ends up going in favour of the liberals and leftists in the states. I really hope that this such a misogynistic attitude backfires on the Republicans, I really do. It is crazy that rape victims and women in life and death situation could be in a position where they cannot make their own choice. Not saying these are the only legitimate reasons, but some of the more serious circumstances. Please stop trying to police women's body's, it's creepy.

No Matter What by Julie Arduini
No Matter What by Julie Arduini
As you read this in America, mid-term election results are most likely in and you’re probably either very happy, or really not. I used to call myself an “armchair commentator,” watching news and paying attention to current events and giving my thoughts on it. Since 2020, I definitely keep my eye on current events, but I’ve felt God turn that interest into intercession. There are certain words…

Donald Trump warns Ron DeSantis against 2024 presidential bid
Both men are likely rivals for the Republican presidential nomination in 2024 By Gareth Evans Donald Trump has warned Florida’s Governor Ron DeSantis against running for president in 2024, saying doing so would harm the Republican Party. “I think he would be making a mistake. I think the base would not like it,” the former president told Fox News. He also threatened to release unflattering…

At this point it’s pretty well know that Gen Z played a major role in making the historical midterms happen. So I can’t help but wonder how long it’ll be before Republicans start banning election talk in schools. When I was in high school they helped seniors register to vote and let us use official equipment for homecoming. Our teachers and staff were all the time telling us to vote, no matter what. So I wonder how long it’ll be before that type of thing gets banned since clearly Gen Z has an affinity for voting like no other recent generation, and that’s bitten Republicans in the ass.
