I want to draw fanart of the Daevabad Trilogy so bad but I'm so ignorant about the clothing styles. Spessifically turbans are causing me issues. There are so, so many types! And they all seem to mean something important! Ad in the fact that this isn't current fashion, but historical fantasy fashion and I'm at a loss.

Anyone know key words I should use to do my research on what different characters might be wearing?

idk man as someone who is an asian (desi to be more specific) living in the west i find it hilarious what the west considers to be fit to label and pass as "high fashion". as in its only valid "high fashion" IF its designerwear originated from the west??? which is so weird to me???? sorry darlings but maybe if yall ventured out a little bit and took a look at eastern clothing and eastern designerwear, especially traditional wear, oooooft. yall would rethink what you class as "high fashion".

does anyone have a good website/resource/blog for different middle eastern and indian clothing? preferably, im looking for something that sorts the different subcultures of indian/middle eastern clothing. (like armenian, iranian, saudi arabian, etc) (not sure exactly what different indian cultures are called, but im sure theres also a name for all of them). it would be a great help!
