Karlach is finally complete! Musings under the cut
This was the largest figure I've ever worked on (I typically do 1:28 or 1:32 scale, typical for DND, board games and Warhammer) but I got this as a gift for Christmas and am quite pleased with how it turned out!
I used an airbrush for priming and the base, but everything else was hand painted, using white acrylic gouache for the under-lighting and slowly glazing the colors up with Reaper Master Series paints thinned with a liquitex acrylic medium (gloss). This made my rather matte acrylic paints have a satin sheen to it that I feel worked well with Karlachs tones.
My next project will be a Dungeon Meshi diorama, and I'm very excited to start that!
Thank you! I'm pretty happy with that color! I owe it largely in part to @dryderpunk , as she's the one who started using the technique for her tyranids; albeit a little more toned down. She was kind enough to provide me with her method, which I am still very thankful for. For mine, I said no to subtly and cranked up the green a lot more.
It's done using a metallic speedpaint from Armypainters for the underneath with a glaze of green over it. I believe she uses a different speedpaint than I do? I could be wrong. I use Aztec Gold for mine, with a light glazing of Ork Flesh Contrast from Citadel for my green.
A swipe at a redesigned yeoman I painted this week! Personally I think it goes a bit too far, losing the design language of Marik's boombox of death in the process, but its still a cool model!
I've been working on a Navis Imperialis killteam for about a month now and i just finished them so here you go!
And heres some individual pics of my girls:3
My lore for these gals is that many of them transferred to the Imperial Navy from the Sisters of Battle! Im very proud of them and i cant wait to play some games with em:3
I kitbashed this mini the day before my first AoS Soulbound TTRPG session because I didn't have a sylvaneth mini to use. I wasn't sure how it would turn out, but I got about halfway through painting it during the game and I think it's shaping up pretty well!
The vibe I was going for was "Rainforest combat ballerina". Their name is Aracea. 💚 Guess what kits they're made from?
I sent these with a bunch of other minis to the Rolling with Difficulties PO box. They are Ancient Drones from @comicaurora 's comic and the designs she didn't use and shared here
Austin said the box was opened and shown to everyone on RWD so I shouldn't be ruining the surprise. Make sure Austin remembers to get them to you Red.
For the rest of you the model is free to download and print from Thingiverse and Printables
