This is a crocheted replica of a Poecilotheria Metallica. I crocheted it using royal blue yarn and then I painted the details on with acrylic paint. It's made as a custom order for a customer. This item will be the last custom ordered replica I'll make for now. Resently I have been totally down because of exhaust and stress. I have immediately stopped taking custom orders and bigger made-to-order orders from my shop on Etsy. My plate is full and it will be for a longer time and until I have been able to get some very needed rest I won't be able to make more of these custom made replicas. I certainly won't risk my health for doing more than I am able to do. I start in a new job next Monday and I know I will be very tired for some time until I get into a routine. So, now this replica is finished and I'll have it packed and shipped to the customer. Here's the finished crocheted mini replica of the Monica tarantula, a female lasiodora variegata (amazonica), owned by @marks_tarantulas. I have used a little black fabric paint to dap the shadings and the black triangle on the abdomen. The dappings became a little spotty and I tried to dissolve the biggest spots with a little water but the paint had already been absorbed by the yarn. Oh well... I gave the fangs and the spinnerets a smidgen of white hobby glue to make them stiff and I used a tiny bit of crazy glue to fix the eye beads so they don't move. I think I'll have mini Monica and her boyfriend packed tomorrow and have them shipped asap. Here's the finished crocheted mini replica of Monica's Boyfriend, a male lasiodora variegata (amazonica) tarantula owned by @marks_tarantulas I have used black fabric paint to color the abdomen black. I made a mistake when I crocheted it, I used the same navy-blue yarn for abdomen as I used for the rest. When I later watched the first video of the pairing of the tarantulas I noticed that the abdomen is clearly black, not blue or bluish. So to make the replica more correct I painted the abdomen black! And I used a smidgen of white hobby glue on the fangs and the spinnerets to make them more stiff. A tiny bit of crazy glue fixed the position of the eye beads. My Monica, Avicularia Amazonica, project is going forward. I have made the body and there's a small egg sack sitting inside the abdomen that can be pulled out and be put back. The tiny white bead works as a little handle so you can grab it with the nails and pull it out. I can't find my small black seed beads, (sometimes I think there's a goblin living here that hides all my things when I need them! 🤔) but when I have black beads put on as eyes the body starts to look more real. I have made the pedipalps and one leg so there are seven to go! I have put pipe cleaners inside them so they can be bend in place when it's finished. I have a small black round dot, which is the sternum, to put on top of the legs after they have been sewed on. And the cricket is finished. It has to be seen in real life to really see the details on it. I'll have my photo studio out for the next time I take photos, the light is better inside it and it's easier to see the details. A crocheted bumblebee made for Sam @bugrealms. All is crocheted with DMC Special Dentelle 80 yarn and a 0.75 mm crochet needle. The frame of the wings are made with metal thread that I have crocheted over. I bought the pattern for this bumblebee and but I have made changes where it was appropriate for miniature crochet. The design is very good with intricate details like the white inner wings, the shape of the mandibles and the legs. A crocheted beetle made for Sam @bugrealms. I don't know if it's a replica of a certain specie or if it's a fantasy beetle. I think it resembles a scarab beetle but since I don't know anything about beetles I can't say for sure if it's a scarab or not. I have crocheted the wings using two different kinds of yarn, a beautiful green cotton yarn and a very shiny blue viscose yarn. The mix of yarns gives it a beautiful green-blue color. I have stitched some dots using a multicolored shiny effect yarn that shines in the light but the camera can't pick up the shimmer. The eyes are clusters of tiny black beads. And the head has been crocheted with woolen yarn to give it a slightly fuzzy appearance. The antennas and the legs are made with thin metal thread that I have wrapped black cotton yarn around and fixed with clear nail polish. I have made a replica of a Brachypelma Hamorii as a gift for Amy at @petrock_nroll. Her Brachypelma Hamorii, which has a very special name that I can't remember and that I'm sure there's a story behind, is her Pride and Joy, or one of them. She recently has paired her and she has created a video about it where she tells the story of how she found the mature male and she shows the very subtle ways the male and the female communicated with each other, even they were placed in each their enclosures but standing next to each other. The pairing itself was perfect and a match made in Heaven. It all was as told in fairytales. I highly recommend everyone who read this to go to YouTube and watch Amy's video! The replica comes with its very own crichet and they both have a magnet glued on the undersides so they can be placed on whatever metal that Amy wants them to sit on. I'm sorry but I don't take orders for my crocheted tarantula replicas. This gift for Amy is the last tarantula replica that I will make and I now will go back to making things for my shop on Etsy. This is a crocheted replica of a Psalmopoeus Cambridgei made for @marks_tarantulas It is in my opinion one of the best of the replicas that I have made. The intricate details on the else quite bland tarantula are made with thin thread stitched on the various parts of the body. Here are crocheted replicas of 8 spotted crab spiders, Platythomisus octomaculatus, as a juvenile and a mature. They are made for @marks_tarantulas who recently has acquired one. It's a juvenile and the coloration is more light but hopefully it will grow and become a mature spider showing the beautiful coloration. The replicas are connected to the flower with magnets that I have sewed in on two of leaves. The flower has been glued on an ordinary fridge magnet where I have used tiny super magnets for the replicas and inside the leaves because they are strong enough to be able to connect with each other even there's a layer of crocheted yarn between them.
