I think im forever going to be emotional about Mipha’s theme containing the inspiration for her name.
The Mi, as in do ray mi fa so la ti do.
God I’m feeling so many emotions about her, anybody want to listen to me sob over the tragedy of this game?

Propaganda Under Cut
Joan Watson
How were BBC Sherlock shippers so rancid about a WOMAN who wasnt even in the SAME SHOW?????
Lucy Liu real life victim of yaoi despite being on a DIFFERENT TV SHOW. And everyone was so busy hating her for getting in the way of johnlocke that they ignored the massive yuri potential of Elementary :(
she wasn't even in the same SHOW as the yaoi I've been convinced she deserves to win the entire poll. I was a Johnlocker but I did watch the first season of Elementary and it was fine????? It was totally okay????? Especially in hindsight given how hard Sherlock season four flopped. Also Lucy Liu is a queen and deserved zero vitriol for *checks notes* playing a character???? A fucking fictional character???????? Oh my god we were all SO mean to this show and we (or at least I) thought it was like The Good Fight™️, like we were defending BBC Sherlock against copyright infringement and straightwashing and Jonny Lee Miller's bizarre scarf, (it wasn't a good scarf I do stand by that) but then Elementary didn't make Holmes and Watson a couple either???? And also it didn't insult its audience constantly etc etc we've all seen the Hbomberguy Sherlock is Garbage video. This is really long sorry hashtag justice for Joan Watson.
Mipha
Honestly she's not just a victim of yaoi, tbh. Basically: she canonically had a massive crush on the protagonist, Link, which consistently gets swept under the rug or ignored entirely in favor of shipping Link with her brother Sidon, their fellow champion Revali, or Zelda herself. She deserves nice things and so many people just... completely overlook her??
She has a crush on Link, but so does her younger brother Sidon, who is much more affable and outgoing. Link/Sidon is the more popular ship. Mipha gets a lot of flak for being a weak female character who's only defined by her romantic relationship to the protagonist. That's not really fair; she has her own storyline about being the golden girl from her town who everyone looks up to, and the hole that's left in the town after her death. It is unfortunate that she is better remembered as the less compelling corner of a love triangle.
The princess of the Zora, sweetheart of the Zora's Domain. Champion pilot of the Divine Beast Vah Ruta. Master healer, cut down in her prime by an ancient evil. But you wouldn't know it, because she's reduced to someone who was in love with Link (the game's protagonist), and therefore has to be sidelined and villainized to ship Link with her younger brother Sidon or her fellow Champion Revali.

Two things about Finding Family I've been thinking about!
1. Does Mask!Wild have the same "mini-Grace" ability that Aspect!Wild does? Because now I'm imagining the Chain eulogizing about him and how sad they are he died and he wakes up in the middle of it hearing all these people talk about how cool he is.
2. Semi-related to the above, how did the Champions react to seeing him after he freed the Divine Beasts? Daruk's reaction is probably obvious ("if I were not extremely dead and also a ghost I'd give you a big hug"), but the others are a bit of a mystery to me.
Okay so - putting this under the cut because it’s long and also mind the tags
1-
👀👀👀👀👀👀👀👀👀👀👀👀
Maybe
Maybe he knows this
Maybe he leans on it instead of healing and just… doesn’t tell the chain
Maybe he doesn’t want to bother them cause he knows he’ll get better.
There will be a healing related section coming up but all of this will be inferred rather than direct cause I don’t want to go too into it but
👀👀👀👀👀👀👀👀👀👀👀👀👀👀
2 - OOFT okay. So.
They were probably all SHOCKED to see him so changed but all showed it differently. They all cared, of course.
Mipha- so. So. Soft. So gentle. So kind. Maybe too kind? Not her fault, the Bean just isn’t used to that amount of tenderness. He definitely cried a lot. But then, he cries a lot anyway. Mipha probably got him a drink of water. She promised she’d always be there for him. He cried again.
Daruk- okay so he’s a goron and I’m not sure he’d totally get it at first? Like he’d see the mask and be like ‘oh your silly hylian fashions!’ And when he realised that Wild was badly scarred he still might not fully get it. Gorons are made of rock, after all. It’s very different. But the fact that his Little Guy was hurting would be hard to accept and he’d be extremely positive.
He might get a laugh out of Wild.
Revali- bless this little shit, he would see, feel terrible for his friend, and go about comforting him in the most revali way possible. He’d 99% pretend it wasn’t a thing and cheerfully rag on his archery skills. Then when that didn’t work he’d go on a rage talking about how anyone who didn’t respect Wild deserved death. After all, Wild was the second greatest archer in history! After Revali Ofc
Wild definitely cries. Revali is LOST.
Urbosa- gives wild BIG hugs and also talks about all the different ways she could re-kill Rhoam. She gets both tears and laughter.

TOTK/Tears of the kingdom spoilers below the read more (Zora Domain)
-
-
- (edit made as well. art below)
Ok so While the reveal of his fiance/wife Yona hit my Sidon simpin ass like a fucking freight train. I’m actually not angry about it. There’s a part of my heart screaming it should a been me and a part of it going “good for my boy.”
while its an arrange marriage which makes alot of sense given that he is royalty and this is not the first time its been used. I actually genuinely like Yona. She’s really sweet and really cute and I like that she’s not afraid to to be like “JUST DO IT!”
My biggest issue with her in all honesty is just some color choices. I would a made her just a little less saturated to work better with the render engine and personally would have done yellow dots over her eyes as I’m not feeling the pastel pink. But that’s minor nitpicks that do not hinder her for me. (tho I do wish some of the plot/dialogue was written a little better i feel they made the Zora talk to one another way too formally even people who are close. I personally would a liked more organic speech but that’s more an issue with the writing) And I love the sidlink ship too. I adore so many sidlink artist as well. But what I do not like at all is how much hate I’ve seen to Yona. Like she doesn’t deserve all the hate. I also do like the idea some people have that Link and Sidon are more brothers than lovers due to Link being betrothed to his sister Mipha.
I like both sides of the exploration with sidon and link be it romantic or platonic in nature. But i really don’t like some of the nasty views I’m seeing stir up. Tho the welcome home cheater memes funny as hell to me. but all the hate i’m seeing for Yona does full my spite NexGen tendencies and I am very tempted to make them a child who is named Link because Sidon would 100000% name his kid after link. EDIT: Caved and made him. Meet Prince Link. I’ll develop him more after I finish my last batch of commissions.
Tumblr media
Used design elements from his Parents and Grandfather. Green and Banded like his mother (saturation duller and darker tones due to his fathers coloring) With Cyan and yellow fins like his Father’s family and his father’s face and golden eyes, but with a head tail much like his grandfather’s.

So for King of the Gerudo you brought up some world building ideas involving the Knights and Maiden titles being the highest honor someone can get, and the Champions being the first examples of non Hylians getting those titles. And as a fellow over thinker in world building, I just can't help but wonder about the different responses people would have to it.
How would the Hylians feel, would they feel it's more deserved and fine, given then Champions had helped save them all during the Calamity, or are there some spiteful ones who see it as an insult to Hylian customs and traditions. Has this spiraled into some people doubting Zelda's choice on the matter, thinking she's putting emotion over reason, choosing to give her friends better titles and disregard their traditions.
Or the Zora and the Rito, both of whom seem to be a little more honor bound. Would some of the more older Zora see it as a passive aggressive way for the Hyrulean Monarch to reiterate that their own Princess is below that of Zelda and the King of Hyrule, that a maiden is still one level below them? Would it lead to people questioning King Dorephan's more passive nature, that perhaps he isn't as outspoken for the Zora's 'honor'? How would the Rito respond to this, who seem to have a little more pride towards their dominion over the sky and their superior archery skills? Is it an insult that Revali was ranked alongside a princess, chieftain, and lord as if a way to cheaply elevate him, almost like a participation trophy?
Or how about some of the Yiga, noting how Impa was dubbed a Maiden but Kogha, in spite of his 'brave' defiance to Ganon, wasn't. Maybe now there are some Yiga who consider this a slight towards them, spawning a very small group of defecting Yiga going against the greater Yiga's reintegration into Hyrulesl's greater collective.
Idk, I'm definitely overthinking all of this and none of this needs answers or any thought put into it, but dang did my brain go a little overboard as I dreamed of this 😅
Oooh yes it’ll be a huge deal. I haven’t thought about the zora situation, but it makes perfect sense! It’s strange how Zelda and Rhoam seem to be of higher authority than Dorephan and mipha, and I think that with the status of a champion and a maiden, a lot of zora will be mad. Idk about the Rito tho, I think they’ll be happy that they’re finally out there, and some Rito may believe that they may be able to reach knighthood or maidenhood someday. But I know some will be upset that it was Revali to be called. But I won’t get into that drama UwU
Some Hylians will be VERY upset about all of this. The people already doubt Zelda’s ability to lead, and to see her accept non Hylians as knights and maidens will seem like breaking tradition, or even blasphemous. Now the soldiers who worked close to her won’t care. They saw how she led battling the calamity, and how she cared for each soldier, so they trust her. But a lot of people like the many gossipers will be upset. They’ll think that Hylians will never have a chance to be called as a knight or a maiden ever again (which isn’t true, those aren’t easy titles to achieve anyways).
Another thing is that it sorta breaks the mold. Knights are meant to parallel the hero, and tho he has a lot of magic, for a lot of incarnations like AOC link, he mostly just uses his fighting skills, not magic. And so to see knights that are proficient at magic will be a big deal, and many people will think that they’re not worthy of a knightly title because of it. Same thing with the maidens. Urbosa, Mipha, and Impa are magically gifted, but they are also very strong fighters. Take away their magic and they’ll still kick your butts. So many people that they’re not worthy of the title of a maiden because of that.
And the yiga…. Oh man… there will be drama with the yiga, and I’m sure a lot of them will be upset, but Impa never defied the Royal family, so she and Kogha’s situation aren’t similar enough to me to cause too much drama. It’s just another instance of the Sheikah being loved by the royal family and not the yiga (but the yiga kinda did that to themselves lol. But I have many thoughts on the yiga for sure)
But yeah overall mostly Hylians and zora will be offended by this. Everyone else may be excited that they’ll have a chance to reach knighthood and maidenhood.

Thank you @klarionthewizard for this
Three ships: Link/Zelda also Mipha/Link (fish wife did not deserve what happened to her.) Maedhros/ therapy
First ship: I can’t even remember, probably Aragorn/Arwen
Last song: either Ræb’s lament or blood upon the snow (you have to be in a ‘mood’ to write Maedhros)
Last movie: the quiet man with John Wayne and Maureen O’Hara
Currently reading: a bunch of fanfics (mostly Star Wars, the silmarillion, the Legend of Zelda )
Currently writing: Maedhros in Hyrule. I think Maedhros would survive and thrive in breath of the wild era Hyrule, and Link needs a backpack leash.
I’m poking @mellifexfarm @musewrangler @firestorm78583 @eatyourdamnpears @egginfroggin with a stick

💚 🤍 💔 🏳️‍🌈 💀
(Sorry im sending so many 😭 i just really want to hear your opinion on a lot of things)
Long answers so putting them under 'keep reading' for the sake of yall's dashboards.
💚: What does everyone else get wrong about your favorite character?
Mmmmm. I'm gonna pick two and cheat cause I have feelings on how both are written.
First, Mipha. Like you and other mutuals, when it comes to Mipha, we all are on the same page of just how bland and weak she is written or seen by others in the fandom.
That her crush on Link gets in the way (it doesn't. Yes she loves him, but her love of him never overtakes her duties). That she only cares about Link (no she cares for all the people in the Domain and Link and is selfless to a fault, one of her intended flaws). That she is not partially adept (her spearmanship is described being a league of her own). It just culminates into all of these weird mix of Mipha becoming a bland side character when she really is not. Yes is some of her canon writing a bit shallow? Absolutely. But that's true for all of the Champions. And yet Urbosa and Revali get more love and deserved writing in the fandom, leaving Mipha and Daruk in the dust.
As for the other character? Garrus Vakarian. I love my boy. I love me one space dino. but PLEASE fandom you all need to course correct how you write him. Garrus is Shepard's best friend, no matter if they are in a relationship or not. Also, Garrus is protective of Shepard, but not overprotective to the point of smothering. Yeah the party shenanigans with him and Zaeed talking about defensive parameters for Shepard is great and funny, but some have him way overprotective of Shepard to the point of getting in her way. Shepard can take care of herself. Garrus knows this. And he steps in only when he knows he should. Also....Garrus isn't as suave as you think he is. All that bravado is to hide his self-depreciation and yall gotta remember that. Temper that badassery with some good old depression and PTSD cause that's Garrus for you.
🤍: Which character is not as morally bad as everyone else seems to think?
That's a hard one. Rhoam? Yeah he's a shit father and yeah could he have treated Zelda better? Absolutely. Pretentious to think all the races will drop everything to give their best people, or in the case of Urbosa and Mipha, ruler/heir? No doubt. There's no if and or buts there.
But keep in mind. Hyrule's fate was residing on him. On Zelda's sealing powers. On him excavating the entire regions, finding the divine beasts, organizing the Sheikah with the Guardians, raising an army, diplomatically asking for help from the other races...all while trying to run a kingdom. The stress got to him, and he did what he did because partly he thought he was right, but mostly he was, I feel, nervous and scared. Everything was riding on his and his daughter's success, and he took his frustration out on his failure. Does that make him morally bad? Yeah. But it doesn't make him an outright villain or asshole as everyone likes to dunk on him for.
Rhoam to me is more of an anti-hero. His ultimate end goal is the salvation of Hyrule, but his methods to get there, while noble, are questionable when dealing with people themselves.
💔: If you had to remove one major character from the series, who would you choose?
Ganondorf. I'm sorry, I love him, but I actually think his repeated presence in Legend of Zelda severely limits the creativity and storytelling behind the LoZ franchise. I could even throw in the argument of Link and Zelda as well. The one thing I will never forgive SS for was the Curse of Demise. That shit right there? Ruined the series to come. We can no longer get a new BBEG without Ganondorf either being directly or indirectly involved in the story. Like look, I love games that took either a different take on Ganon before the whole Demise curse, or after by distancing it in some way. Look at TP, BoTW, and MM. Zant being controlled by Ganondorf, a Calamity born of his hatred, and no Ganon involved.
Now granted, WW is probably one of my favorite takes on Ganondorf, but that's because he was given a little bit more humanity alongside his evilness. That he is a 'person' and despite that, still evil.
And even still, I would argue, by having Gandondorf as the same villain over and over you are just re-hashing the same story with the same characters, the same old Good vs Evil plot of Hylia vs Demise just in a different era. And while the gameplay may be great for future games,. at some point, there will be a breaking point for the story. ToTk a prime example.
🏳️‍🌈: Which character who is commonly headcanoned as queer doesn't seem queer to you?
Sidon? And yeah I'm gonna toss in Revali there too. I just don't see them as queer. And that's not cause I'm straight either.
I just..I don't know I don't even see Sidon as being romantically involved with anyone (I am still choosing to completely ignore any and all ToTK Canon). And if he is? I don't know who I'd ship him with or who his partner would be? Am I currently in the middle of writing a Sidbazz wip as part of my miphlink modern AU? Yeah. Still, I don't really headcanon him myself as queer. It's a fluid concept for me...whatever fits the story I'm writing best.
As for Revali, I ship him with his own ego.
💀: If you had to choose one major character to die, who would you choose?
BoTW Zelda. She should have died at the end of BoTW. Here's my reasoning.
She should have died alongside the other Champions. The last relics of the past, leaving an amnesiac Link with barely any memories to make a new life in a land he has come to slowly recognize as the world he lives in now, and not the past. It's how I initially hoped BoTW was going to do. That we encounter Zelda's spirit at the end of the story, her last act to hold the Calamity back in enough time for Link to finish the job.
Now I know Nintendo would never even fathom something like this. Can't kill off your precious Zelda and piss off all the Zelda/Zelink fans. but narratively I think it would have made for a great bittersweet ending. And would have made for a better sequel as well.

Whumptober day 17 — Breaking point
Bit of a loose fit for the prompt, but eh, I enjoyed writing it :) sorry Wild
Warnings: I’m not sure what to put here honestly. Some nightmarish stuff? Unable to tell what’s real and what isn’t? Lots of ouchy angst. Some blood, some violence.
Ao3 link
————————————————————
Wild knew, logically, that this wasn’t real.
He didn’t regret jumping in front of the wizzrobe, getting blasted in the face with a curse that would have hit Time if he hadn’t done it. He did slightly regret the fact that they were finally back in his home time and nearly to Hateno when it had happened though, which meant seeing Zelda was probably off the table for a while.
But at least Time was okay.
Not that he’d been happy about Wild jumping in front of him, but hey, he could handle it. What were a couple horrible effects due to a curse anyway?
He’d had a few minutes before it fully took effect fortunately, enough time to hear Legend and Wind debate the possible effects he might have to deal with before he went under. The last thing he heard before his vision went dark was something about horribly realistic nightmares, which... was not comforting.
But it did explain why, even though he knew what he was looking at wasn’t real, he was having trouble convincing himself of the fact.
He was at his house in Hateno, but it didn’t look right, the wood too new, the walls the wrong color. Karson and Bolson were nowhere to be seen either, and the sky was an odd shade of blue. Curiosity and caution raged inside of him, a morbid need to know what the curse had thought up for him warring against the fact that he really didn’t need to know.
But curiosity won out, so in spite of his better judgment Wild walked in.
Several people looked up as he pushed open the door, and Wild froze, staring dumbly at the family eating dinner in his house. An older man with a white beard, a knightly looking younger man. A little girl, and a woman who couldn’t have been anyone but her mother stared at him, eyes a shade exactly the same as his own.
They all felt sickeningly familiar.
“Why did you fail us Link?” The oldest suddenly said.
Wild took a step backwards, taken aback at the sharp tone the man used on him. The other man stood then, and shook his head in disgust.
“Why did I even try? It’s no wonder Hyrule fell, it’s all your fault,” he scoffed, and the little girl suddenly tugged on Wild’s shirt, sniffling as she wiped blood off her dress.
“Why did you fail me big brother?” she asked, tears in her eyes.
Wild stumbled away, but his back hit something solid, and he turned to see Twilight looming over him. His arms were crossed and his face was leveled in an expression completely devoid of any of the brotherly affection Wild was used to seeing on it.
“I’m disappointed in you champion,” Twilight said in disgust, no warmth in his eyes. “You’re no hero. You’re not one of us.”
“You don’t deserve this blade,” Sky said coldly, holding the master sword.
The others came up from behind and began to chime in, voices overlapping and angered.
“Why are you even here? You’re no hero.”
“You broke the blade, you weren’t strong enough to wield it.”
“What, he thought we cared? What a joke.”
“I don’t know why Hylia even chose you.”
Wild slammed his hands over his ears and shoved past the heroes as he ran out of the house, stumbling down the hillside away from Hateno. Not real not real not real just a curse all in your head not real—
He tripped over a rock as he ran from his house, scraping his knees. He winced and raised his head, looking around at Hyrule Field, the familiar spot from one of his memories coming into view.
Something blue flickered in his vision, and he looked up to see Mipha staring at him, face distraught.
“You made us wait Link,” she whimpered, bleeding from what looked like trident marks in her chest and neck. “You made us wait a hundred years, and after all that you still didn’t save me. I waited so long. But no help came. Nobody came.”
Wild grit his teeth and turned away from the apparition, crossing his arms as he made sure his eyes were firmly shut.
Not real not real not real—
“You failed us Link,” Urbosa cut in to his thoughts, tone sharp with disappointment. “You failed us, and the kingdom. You failed everyone.”
“I expected more from the legendary hero,” Revali scoffed, pain and grief in his voice, along with utter distain.
“I expected more from my brother,” rumbled Daruk, voice completely void of its usual warmth. “You weren’t good enough Link. You doomed everyone.”
Wild clenched his fists so they’d stop shaking and whipped around, glaring at the dying ghosts of the champions, bloodied and sad.
“Is that the best you got?!” he shouted out at the ghostly figures. “They’re already dead! I know this isn’t real!” he nearly screamed, and they abruptly dissipated into the breeze, without so much as a whisper.
Wild wheezed out a breath, and forced his hands to quit shaking. His chest hurt, and his face felt cold and wet. The smell of blood was sharp in his nostrils, and Wild sucked in a breath, rain pouring down on his head.
He wiped his face and stumbled to a knee, narrowly avoiding a Guardian’s shot that would’ve blown his arm clear off.
He was dying.
He felt Zelda’s hand clutching his shoulder as he fought for breath, the master sword shaking in his grasp. Seemingly endless injuries sent agony rippling up his skin, and a guardian created the hill in front of him, targeting laser trained directly on his chest.
But Wild fought against the terror, shaking off the pain no matter how real it felt. This had already happened. And it wasn’t happening again, it wasn’t—
Fire hit his chest and he heard Zelda scream, a blinding golden light filling his vision. He fell to the ground and stared up at the rain falling in his face, breathing agonized and weak.
He felt Zelda’s hands clutching at him, begging him to get up. Her head hit his chest as she sobbed, and he felt himself begin to fade into terrifying darkness, the line between what was real and not blurring and fading as the shadows embraced him like an old friend.
No. No, no no no this isn’t real, it’s not real it’s NOT REAL—
Link clawed desperately for clarity, for a sign that what was happening was all in his head, anything, but the agony and darkness and red light of lasers and rain against his face was too real it was real—
And suddenly he was the one crouching in the rain, cradling Zelda as she died in his arms.
Link clutched his princess in his lap as blood ran down a scratch on her face, the normally bright green of her eyes faded and watery with pained tears. She breathed in a gasp, and Link felt his throat tighten, the sight of her in pain making some deep inner part of him cry out in agony.
“Link...” she whimpered, her head lolling against his arm. “L-Link, I...”
She broke into a wet cough, and Link only clutched her more tightly, the master sword forgotten by his side.
“Zelda,” he choked out, unable to tear his eyes from the burns marring so much of her skin, blood and mud equally coated around and on them. He fluttered a hand over her, unsure of where even to begin, unsure of what to do, and she let out another whimpering cough.
He’d failed, he was the princess’s knight, her protector, defender, he was supposed to get her to Fort Hateno and he’d failed.
“Ch-champion...” she breathed,
She weakly raised a hand to his face, and breathed in a choked gasp as she brushed it along his cheek, his face wet with tears and blood.
“Zelda?” he asked, voice thick, and the princess’s eyes shone with a startling clarity all of a sudden.
“It’s not real,” she whispered.
Then she went limp in his arms.
“No, no Zelda no,” he gasped, clutching her wrist. There was no pulse, no movement at all. He pressed a shaking hand to her neck then, and felt despair crash into him as he felt nothing.
She was gone.
After everyone else, the champions, castle town, all the divine beasts, all corrupted or killed by Ganon, Zelda had been the one person he’d had left and now—
She was gone.
If he hadn’t been sitting he would’ve collapsed, and Link pressed his forehead to Zelda’s unmoving one, letting out a wail of pure grief and pain. Rain poured down around him, distant fires and lasers lighting up the night around him in horrible clarity.
He had nobody now, nobody who remembered, nobody who cared, all that was left was the Calamity and it was his fault his fault his FAULT—
“It’s not real.”
Link shook his head at the sudden echo in his ears, feeling the urge to vomit. How could it not be real? He could feel Zelda’s body limp in his arms, hear the rain soaking him to the bone. The smell of the blood that coated the ground below them was sharp and metallic in his nostrils, there was no possible way this wasn’t real.
“It’s not real Link.”
“Yes it is!” he screamed, but his vision flickered momentarily, and it almost felt like someone was holding him instead of the other way around.
“No it’s not.”
Link let out a sob and buried his head in his hands, Zelda’s body already gone cold in his arms.
“Link, it’s not real.”
Yes it was, how could it not be, he’d already lost everything what was there even left for him to fight for—
“Link it’s not real!”
Something cracked, and Link choked on a sob as somebody pulled his head close to their chest, arms wrapping around his back.
“Link, champion it’s okay,” somebody said, and he shook his head, overwhelmed and despaired.
“N-no, no she’s dead, there’s no one left—“ he gasped, and he felt the arms tighten around him.
“Link, look around and tell me what you see. Please?”
He choked back a sob and slowly raised his head, looking through blurry vision at the person who held him.
Twilight looked down at him, eyes worried and a bit scared, but with no measure of the hatred they’d held earlier. Link stared at him, then looked around to his side, where the other heroes all lingered, looking upset and worried.
But not hateful.
Wild blinked, and looked around further, suddenly realizing he was in his house in Hateno, the setting sun casting its light through the window. Then his gaze fell on the other person in the room, who was sitting frozen by his bedside.
Zelda.
His eyes met hers and another sob wrenched itself out of him as he buried his head in his hands.
It hadn’t been real. None of it. He was alive, his friends didn’t hate him, the Calamity was defeated and Zelda...
Zelda was okay.
He felt Twilight run a hand through his hair, and someone else pulled him into a hug, the smell of flowers and sunshine hitting his nose. He let out an embarrassingly squeaky hiccup, and felt someone take his hand, Twilight running soothing circles with his hand on his back.
“That was not fun,” he croaked, and Zelda let out a relieved laugh as she squeezed his hand. Someone suddenly gave his head a gentle smack, and he looked up to see Time giving him a worried glare.
“Next time just tell me to move, Champion,” he said in exasperation, but Wild could hear the heavy relief in his voice.
He gave him a faint smile, and leaned down onto Zelda’s shoulder, Twilight now hugging them both.
“No promises,” he said in a shaky voice, and Time gave his shoulder a squeeze.

First impression
CUTE MERMAID
Impression now
precious... beloved mipha. she deserves so much better i love her so much ;~;
Favorite moment
when link walked up to check on her and she got all flustered. and in AoC when she kills the Lynel to protec! and takes charge of Ruta! She's such a badass!
Idea for a story
Mipha's temporarily blinded and has to learn how to properly trust and be helped by others -w-
Unpopular opinion

9 people you'd like to know better
I was tagged by @rainy-circle! Oh my gosh! It has been a while, hello!!
1. Three ships:
a.) Benson/Mordecai from "Regular Show" (classic, and the most relatable)
b.) Mipha/Revali from "Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" (it's my dream fairytale ship), and most recently, surprisingly(?)
c.) Caine/Pomni from "The Amazing Digital Circus" (omg, literally just a few days ago?!) (also experimenting chaotic/anxious duos, and dang do THEY embody that!?)
2. First ever ship: My very first most passionate hardcore ship was either Ink!Sans/Error!Sans, or Reaper!Sans/Geno!Sans. Both from their respective Undertale AUs! Maybe I shipped them both at the same time, who knows? (Still can't believe my first ship is sanscest lol.)
3. Last Song: No Exit by longestsoloever (replayed it like 3 digits, only knew the song yesterday😭)
4. Last Film: Barbie (2023). Only watched it a few weeks ago, and it's AWESOME!
5. Currently reading: ...Does drabbles of Caine/Pomni in AO3 count hehe?
6. Currently watching: The Amazing Digital Circus! (Go watch it peeps! It's SO GOOD! It deserves the hype!)
7. Currently consuming: Just had spicy noodles earlier I guess.
8. Currently craving: Literally, something hearty, umami, and spicy (again). Figuratively, MOTIVATION (because I seem to lack the energy of doing stuff I REALLY LOVE for some reason, I hate that I'm like this).
Now for my 9 mutuals, where you at? I want to know more of you peeps around!
@mrbigboisprite @loneliness-suffering @starstriix @ambersuperstar @apocalypticinsomnia @tsugiset @e-ampersand-c @matchamabs @raitnrong
Also, to my mordeson and miphvali mutuals, I'm sorry if I haven't been interacting with you all in Discord for almost a...YEAR now? I swear, my mind just...sucks ass. I'm still here, and not dead lol. The reality I'm currently experiencing in this mortal plane has made me feel pretty overwhelmed, and stuck. Maybe I'm experiencing some 20's existential crisis haha? But anyway, just letting you all know I'm pretty much alright, and sane enough to push through. Hope you're all doing fine and well there. Miss you guys.
I swear I'll come back. And chat and stuff like we used to. I'll just get myself, and my mind to sort things out (hoping before the end of the year because it's been taking forever)...and also my Discord account (stupid password).
Sorry for the rambling, have fun tagging and posting stuff though!

I am in a feverish 2:57 AM haze as i am beginning to type this bc i need to put these words into the WORLD goddammit!!!
As you can tell from the state of my reblogs at the moment, i am in the deepest depths of revalink obsession. Their Dynamic. My god.
Revali's need to prove himself and constantly push himself further to show his strength. to show his worth. He isn't pompous and taunting to Link because he thinks he's better than him, he's like that out of jealousy for the percieved ease of his success. Revali dedicates himself fully and works himself to the bone and has so much to show for his efforts, but in his mind it still pales in comparison to the "effortless" heroism and skill that Link has. He clings onto every one-up on him he gets, because that proves to him that, on some level, he's better than or on the same level as Link. He thinks Link has had everything as easy as can be, naturally talented with a sword, blessed by destiny to be the central hero of the story. Meanwhile Revali has worked hours on end and feels his efforts aren't recognized. It's a game of catch up where he's moving as fast as he can, desperate, and Link is taking a relaxing stroll.
But thing is, Link hasn't got it easy AT ALL, and he probably doesn't get why Revali seems to hate him so much. The antagonistic comments seem completely out of nowhere to him. Link has so MUCH on his shoulders because of all this destiny mess. So much so that in Mipha's diary we see a description of a DRASTIC personality shift from a goofy lighthearted guy to the cold, stone faced knight. He doesn't take his responsibility lightly. He dedicates all he has in him to this, his destiny is a burden he takes on and sees to the end. He can't exactly change the swords mind, after all. But at the same time, he might just give it all up if he could. Revali's insistence on TRULY DESERVING the role of hero, all of his jealousies that Link can't see the root of, probably seem LUDACROUS to him.
I've been THINKING ABOUT THEM. And it's now 3:13 and i probably failed to put all my thoughts into words properly but that's ffffffffine. oh well
on a completely unrelated note, have any of you listened to Reach by Madds Buckley?(it is very related actually it's abt this exact thing i SWEAR pretend it is revali muttering bitterly to himself i swear thats this song guys i promi)

Round 1
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Propaganda under the cut
Zelda
She spent 100 years in a metaphysical wrestling match with an ancient and primal evil after seeing it destroy almost everyone and everything she held dear in the hopes of saving the few that remained and Link's main goal after HIYAHing his way out of a amnesia-inducing coma was to come in and tag team said evil in order to save her and like 90% of the memories he can regain focus on their relationship with each other and its gradual improvement up to the point where Link fucking dies protecting her and it's the push she needs to awaken the power to push back the blight and PEOPLE ARE STILL OUT THERE IN THEIR POST-CANON FANWORKS TRYING TO TELL ME THAT LINK FUCKS OFF AND LEAVES HER ALONE TO GO SMOOCH THE HOT FISH PRINCE BECAUSE ZELDA WAS BEING TOO OVERBEARING OR WHATEVER AND HE COULDN'T DEAL WITH THE EXPECTATION??? LIKE ZELDA'S WHOLE FUCKING ARC WASNT ALSO ABOUT HER STRUGGLING WITH EXPECTATION AND FAILING TO LIVE UP TO IT AND YOU WANT ME TO BELIEVE THIS WUALITY THEY BOTH OSTENSIBLY HAVE IN COMMON WOULD DRIVE A WEDGE BETWEEN THEM?? WHERE'S ZELDA YOU COWARDS?? I DON'T EVEN CARE IF YOU DON'T WANT HER AND LINK TO BE TOGETHER, JUST STOP DIMINISHING THE GRAVITY OF THEIR RELATIONSHIP AND MAKING ZELDA SUCK FOR NO REASON. SHE'S A BIG NERD! SHE GETS TOO IN HER OWN HEAD! SHE'D DO ANYTHING TO HELP THE PEOPLE SHE CARES ABOUT! SHE UNASHAMEDLY AND EXCITEDLY TRIED TO FEED HER PERSONAL KNIGHT A LIVE FROG IN THE NAME OF SCIENCE! HOW CAN YOU NOT LOVE HER
Im specifically saying botw Zelda here because oh my gOSH this poor girl can get made out to be like a horrible bitch when people. want link to get that shark dick. on average she doesnt get thattttt badly treated compared to some others but goddamn.
title character but people hate her because they want link to get w sidon. so she gets fridged or entirely forgotten even though shes literally his canonical soulmate and they have been reincarnated together hundreds of times (w ganon but whether u make em poly or make him the long suffering third wheel is up to you). people will be like oh but zelda was mean to him that one time (??). be serious w me rn. she just got removed from fandom entirely and if that isnt the epitome of victim of yaoi idk what is.

I keep coming to the disturbing conclusion that any self-insert I make might just be BOTW!Zelda. I might therefore be obligated to write her. Especially because I hate TOTK's story and think she deserves a narrative that actually builds on the premise of the previous game. That girl would NOT voluntarily become The Princess™️ again. BOTW is, to oversimplify things, entirely built on the Frankenstein concept of "things were done that cannot be undone, and they were Fucked Up, and we should learn from them rather than emulate". TOTK has some sort of conservative ooze all over it.
Like. My eternal argument about Zelda in BOTW is that it doesn't matter if she's Hylia incarnate, whether or not the goddess ever heard her- none of that is the reason why she couldn't access her powers. She spent her entire life shoehorned into the role of a priestess, wrapped in bubble wrap. The first time she was ever put in a situation where she needed to protect another person was Link's death. Mipha was healing skinned knees and papercuts. Revali flies all the time. Urbosa had assassins to deal with. Etc. They all had reasons to use their power, and Zelda never did. Until the last minute, and by then it was almost too late. She sealed Calamity Ganon on pure instinct because she needed to protect, and it held for a century. Rhoam should've put that girl in a military camp and had her learn archery, it would've given her a better framework for what she needed to do other than stand there looking wet and pathetic. I am angry on her behalf. She wasn't trained. Whatever that was, it was the opposite of training.
Zelda and Link, throughout time, have been two halves of a whole- she's the shield, he's the sword. She's defense, he's attack. The ability to attack is easy to train, just stick him in a canyon with some bandits and the problem sorts itself. But Zelda's a princess, and theoretically supposed to have others protect her, which means she needs the freedom to exercise her abilities. She needs to train and be at risk of harm, to some extent. OoT Zelda is an excellent example of that, but even in Minish Cap she's thematically associated with a shield.
So then TOTK comes, and among the many other narrative issues it has, this girl who finally found her inner peace as a schoolteacher and social organizer gets right back on the monarchy train as if one man having absolute power isn't what failed her in the first place? I just. I have problems with it. I can see her being a researcher, organizing trade routes, going with Link on a wild adventure to talk to spirits and see how Hyrule could be rebuilt in cooperation with the little gods of the land- and Hyrule is rebuilt, already, in its own way. Nothing ever really dies, it just takes a different shape, and there's already a sort of decentralized support system in the form of the stable network. I can't see Zelda willingly being a princess again, or at least not in the same classical way. I want her to go full Tetra and live her best life serving her country at her own pace.
Also, she deserves to be dragon coded after everything. Give that girl some fangs.
