The Billy Numerous Baseball scene from Teen Titans Go with DC AU!Brecken?

*One bright afternoon, Brecken makes his way onto an empty baseball field. He steps up to the pitcher’s mound and puts on a cap*

Brecken: Alright, ya’ll! Who’s up for a game?! *He multiplies himself*

Brecken’s clones: Yes, sir, I could play!

Brecken 1: Alright, let’s pick teams! *He clones himself again*

Brecken 2: Only if I can pick first. *Walks by a row of clones* Hoo doggy, this is rough!… I’ll take Brecken!

Brecken 3: Yeehaw!

Brecken 1: Hey! I was gonna pick Brecken! *Scans over the row* I’ll take Brecken!

Brecken 4: Whoo!

*After forming their team, that just leaves one Brecken, who disappointedly makes his way over to one side*

Brecken 12: Shoot, I always get picked last!

*Brecken multiplies himself once more to fill the stands with at least five hundred clones, and one of them takes up the role of the announcer*

Brecken 13: *Into a microphone* Looks like it’s gonna be a bea-utiful day for a ball game!

Brecken 14: *Making his way through the aisles with bags of peanuts* Peanuts! Get yer peanuts here! *Clones himself*

Brecken 15: Hot dogs! Hot dogs here! Hot and fresh just like they got back home and made with some kind of meat! No one knows, but we ain’t complainin’!

*Down in the diamond, Brecken 1 pitches the ball, and it zips right past Brecken 2*

Brecken 3: Stee-rike three! You’re outta here!

Brecken 4: Out?! How was that a stee-rike?! He missed by a mile!

Brecken 3: You try’na tell me how to do my job, boy?! *Kicks dirt at him*

Brecken 4: You get your dirt away from me! *Kicks dirt at him*

Hey remember that crossover between Miraculous and Teen Titans?

Well here’s a sort if follow up to that; Hawkmoth decides to switch up his strategy somewhat. He’s made the realization that utilizing average citizens of Paris as potential targets for his akumas only limit the chances the akumatized individual has before the need to replenish his powers for the day. If he are going to bring a person to seize the miraculouses, he might need someone who has the combat experience, knowledge and will power that can actually be a legit challenge to teenage superheroes without eh need of an akuma.

He one day looks though archival footage of one particular person who has fought against the American based team known as the Titans to a stand still numerous times and not only survive but even eludes capture from them to the present day.

With one quick phone call across the dark web, Hawkmoth is able to meet with this one super criminal who also acts as a mercenary and has a simple offer; being him both Ladybug and Cat Noir directly to him alive and their miraculouses intact and he’ll be handsomely rewarded

This individual, a Mr. Slade Wilson, is intrigued…I’ll let you take it from here

(This would probably be better if I’d watched the movie where the rest of the world’s superheroes come in, but whatever! Here I go!)

OKAY so initially I was picturing cartoon Slade (competing with Hawkmoth in classic-villain serious-business hamminess) but then I thought, 80’s/90’s comics Deathstroke… with all his brutal pragmatism and the snark for days… how glorious would it be, thrown into the Miraculous world, experiencing the over the top campiness and having a lot to say about the genre conventions?

If he has a lot to say about Gotham’s colorful villains and the boy-scouty Titans, picture him meeting the ML squad

And maybe you were thinking ‘Hawkmoth hires Slade for money’ but my immediate thought was ‘two big villains trade arch-enemies to take them all by surprise’ (Maybe Slade’s end of the deal was ‘take care of the Titans for me’)

Now for the first showdown!

So Ladybug and Chat Noir are targeted by an actual mercenary and they have no idea. They’d break his sword, guns, and whatever else he brought (which Slade is naturally delighted about) trying to find the akuma and keep coming up empty handed.

I fully see that Ladybug is out swinging a yo-yo and Slade's trying to shoot her.

It’s a tossup whose scheme would succeed when Slade ‘90% brain function usage’ Wilson meets Lady-‘crazy contrived Lucky Charm solutions that somehow work’-bug. Maybe Ladybug and Chat Noir win the first round from having the element of surprise.

Slade would get away un-deakumatized and Ladybug and Chat Noir would have to face the possibility there's a new supervillain in town.

I see Slade leaving the battle being glad he managed to destroy Chat Noir’s staff and being surprised and mildly impressed these kids don’t care the three of them managed to destroy the Eiffel Tower (of course) and two other national monuments in the fight… only to see LB regenerate everything via a cloud of pink confetti and go “…Really?”

Meanwhile, let’s say in San Francisco, Hawkmoth holds up his end of the deal and the Titans have to fight an onslaught of new transplanted supervillains (which are incredibly colorful and kind of cheesy-looking. This one guy's motif seems to be pigeons, that lady fights from atop an entire musical pirate ship, and that other guy’s just a giant snowman made of ice cream?), and fight them in measure of the power they seem to have, only for them to revert to civilians afterwards, and maybe the Titans are met with public scrutiny when the media makes it seem like they used undue power in regular people, and disoriented French tourists to boot?

Tossing this back to you*, how do both superhero parties find out what happened?

ML/DC Bio Mom AU Part 1 (Starfire)

‘So I’ve seen some AUs with Poison Ivy, Catwoman, or Harley Quinn as Marinette’s Bio mom, So here’s some other  DC ladies and how Marinette finds out! Note: Starfire is an adult in this AU, and powers and abilities come from the DC comics wiki and Teen Titans wiki.

Marinette woke up one day floating above her bed. She screamed loud enough to wake the neighbors. Tom and Sabine rushed upstairs to find her floating up by the ceiling. The Kwamii were in a panic, and weren’t even trying to hide (it’s not like Sabine and Tom would never find out, and Marinette never asked why the fridge was always stocked with the Kawmii’s foods), instead they were trying to help her learn how to move. After helping her down, and calming her down, Tom and Sabine decided it was time to tell their daughter the full truth. Marinette had always known she was adopted, and knew that Tom and Sabine loved her as if she were their flesh and blood, but she never knew who her parents were. It was a massive shock to her when they told her that her biological parents were the heroes Starfire and Nightwing. 

Tom and Sabine explained that they met the couple through Gina, who had met them during her travels. The two couples eventually became close friends, and around the time Mari was born, Starfire’s sister Komand’r returned, and threatened to kill Mari. In order to insure their daughter’s safety, they asked Tom and Sabine to adopt Mar’i Nettie Grayson-And’r and to hide her identity they changed her name slightly to Marinette. They told her that when her bio parents had finally felt it was safe again, and were more than happy to speak with her whenever she was ready. Koriand’r wasn’t sure if Marinette would meet them before or after she got her powers (she had a hunch her daughter would inherit them), and left her some letters to help her learn how to use them. Marinette asked if she could read the letters, and if she could meet her bio parents before school started. 

“My sweet little Mar’i, I don’t know if we’ll get to see you before your powers develop, but as your mother I will always look after you. The most important thing you should know is that your powers are linked directly to your emotions,” Wonderful. That’s just what Marinette needed when she was already dealing with a terrorist targeting peoples’ emotions, “You’ll probably develop the power of flight first, it was the first one I did. In order to fly, you will need to feel unbridled joy. That should be easy, seeing the world from the skies sparks that feeling on its own,” For her, it was the thought of defeating Hawkmoth. Next thing she she knew she was floating again. It was easy enough to figure out how to move around, she just had to lean different directions. Picking up speed was easy enough as well, stopping was a bit tougher, but she got the hang of it. Marinette loved to fly, it made getting to Akumas much faster, and while she kept herself hidden as a civilian, as Ladybug she could play it off as getting stronger and unlocking new powers. Chat asked her about it once and how he could fly, thankfully her timer went off, and later Plagg would cover for her and tell Adrien that it was just a power the Ladybug Miraculous had.

“To use your starbolts, you must feel a righteous fury. Think of a time someone has unjustly hurt you or someone else, channel everything you wish you could have done. Oh my little star! I bet your starbolts will be beautiful, and I can’t wait to see what color they are,” Thinking of Hawkmoth, Lila, and even Adrien at times helped her master her starbolts. They were a gorgeous sapphire blue to match her eyes, and now that she could fly, she could practice using them outside of Paris! Tom and Sabine suggested she look up videos of her mom fighting, so she could learn how to make combos and learn some moves. Marinette was careful to never use this power as Ladybug, she didn’t want Chat getting suspicious. 

“Since you are half Tamaranean, you will most likely have my super strength. Whenever you want to use this, tap into your boundless confidence, I know you can do it!” This was a little harder for Marinette. Due to the heaps of expectations placed on her by her classmates and Mrs. Bustier, the torment she endured from Lila and her supporters, and Hawkmoth had destroyed her confidence over time. However, Tikki and the Kwamii reminded her that she could fly, that she was a superhero, she was a designer. Slowly they helped her rebuild her confidence, until one day as she was trying to get a pen that rolled under her dresser... she picked it up! She quickly climbed onto her balcony and took off to the forest she’d been practicing in to test her new found strength. While she wasn’t able to fully find her limit, she is confident she can lift buildings. She continued to read her mother’s letters, and continued to learn about her powers, until she got to the last letter.

“Around the time your powers have finished kicking in, the rest of your tamaranean genes will begin to show. Don’t worry, I promise you’ll be fine!” Marinette woke up one morning to find that she had outgrown her bed, and most of her clothes. She quickly googled her bio parents, ‘Yep, that makes sense. My bio dad is 5′10″ and my bio mom is... 6′4″!?’ Quickly measuring herself, Mari realized she was now 6′2″. She also noticed something else, her hair had grown overnight as well, and was dragging on the floor behind her. Oh well, this wouldn’t be a problem since she was a fashion designer, and the Miraculous could disguise her appearance. She spent the next few weeks remaking her wardrobe. 

Three weeks before school started, she was sitting in a café. She was finally going to meet her parents! She was scrolling through her phone, looking at all the messages she’d been sent. Mrs. Bustier was asking her to do everything except plan and teach the lessons, her classmates were demanding things and volunteering her to do things for them, and Adrien was sending her reminders not to rock the boat and to not expose Lila. Plus with Hawkmoth getting stronger, she was half tempted to ask her bio parents for help. She loved her Maman and Papa dearly, but she was at her limit, and getting out of Paris seemed like a great idea. Her thoughts were interrupted when she heard the door swing open, and thinking it was her parents, she looked up. There were her classmates, even Chloe and Lila. 

“There you are Girl! We haven’t heard from you all summer,” Alya started, but she was quickly cut off by Alix, “Yeah Mari what gives? You just ghosted us!” Marinette sighed, with her enhanced hearing she could easily catch Lila whispering something to Rose about her potentially doing some sketchy stuff behind their backs. “I... got in contact with my bio parents over the summer, and have been dealing with that. In fact I’m here to meet them,” Most of her class looked amazed, Lila had told them Marinette’s Bio parents never wanted to see her again, but she also told them that Marinette lies so they figured that’s what this was. “Dupain-Cheng, you look weird. What happened to you,” Chloe snapped, crossing her arms. At this, Marinette stood, and her classmates’ jaws dropped. She towered over them with the grace of a queen, and had incredibly long hair up in a ponytail that almost seemed to move on its own. She walked past them to the counter and to get another coffee. She turned back to her classmates.

“If you don’t mind, I’d like to meet with my parents in private,” Mari said. She watched as Lila and Chloe led them over to another table, it looks like she wasn’t going to get that private reunion she hoped for. Going back to her booth, she was about to text her bio father that they should meet somewhere else, when the door opened again. There they were, Koriand’r and Dick Grayson, in the flesh. Marinette’s class was staring as Alya whipped out her phone to record, about to leap out of her seat and ask for an interview with the eldest wayne and his supermodel wife (they thought about coming in costume, but didn’t wanna concern people), when she caught something else on her phone instead. Marinette stood up and whispered, “Mom? Dad?” and almost as soon as she got the words out she was engulfed in a hug. As the class shook off their initial shock, they began to process some of the things that were being said:

“Mar’i.... My little star! We missed you so much!”

“Babybird how have you been? We’re so sorry we didn’t reach out sooner, we thought that it was your choice to make and we didn’t want to take you away from your life!”

“You’ve grown so much! Tom and Sabine have kept us updated!”

It took a moment for the class to process. These were Marinette’s parents? However, looking closer they could see it more. Alya was shocked her bestie never told her these were her bio parents! She was so going to give Marinette a hard time for withholding such incredible information! Nino and Kim were elated for their friend, they never believed Lila’s crap about Mari being a bully, they grew up with that girl and knew that she’d never met her bio parents. Lila and Chloe were shocked. Here they were, making an enemy out of Marinette, when in reality she could have been their ticket to fame and glory! Adrien was stunned, not just at who Marinette’s parents were, but how much she had changed. He had to admit she was very gorgeous, and made him seriously doubt his devotion to Ladybug.

Eventually they tuned back into the conversation in front of them, and heard something that shook them to the core, “If it’s alright with you all, can... can I come with you to Bludhaven? I’d really like to get to know you more and I’ve been having a rough time in Paris, a lot is going on and it’s getting to be too much. If you don’t want-”

“Mar’i Nettie Grayson-And’r! Of course we want you! Come on, let’s go talk with Tom and Sabine, and you can tell us everything that’s been going on!”

Miraculous Ladybug (I have fics for Harry Potter and The Inheritance Games but I don't really consider myself someone who actively writes for those fandom)

hmm, maybe hold your friends close (but your enemies closer)? but I do regularly get yelled at when someone at the Writers Guild remembers the flowers that we've grown together, so that's a win too

7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

probably seven is my lucky number with the sappiest-happiest ending. though the ending that makes me the happiest must be that of Felonies and Other Love Languages

not really *knocks on wood*

no because I'm a coward 😭 (also writing smut is so hard! though it is known that ace people write the best, so maybe I'm naturally talented and just don't know it)

not really. in Lost & Found the Teen Titans kind of adopt Adrien but they don't have dialogue because it's not a proper crossover. similarly, in Fighting Dragons with You Cedric Diggory is mentioned and Dramione is canon (to me), but all of that has zero impact on the plot

yes, a few to Russian

yes, I tried it a couple times, but only one fic of those did we ever finish.

fdgfhj all of my WIPs at the moment? 😂 honestly it would be so nice to have (no one can) rewrite the stars finished (that's my hidden fic, ladrien dating/marichat soulmates), but I don't think I'll ever be excited about it enough again to go back and rewrite the 20k chilling in my docs that I planned to do after realizing the current setup wasn't the best it could be

16. What are your writing strengths?

planning, keeping details in check. I usually tinker enough with details that there's not many inconsistencies left. also, I think I'm good with dialogue and usually with the pacing of information

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

not stressing over how something is phrased and putting down actual words instead. it makes writing so excruciatingly slow and sometimes stressful that I want to get things perfect. also, descriptions are so hard, because I don't want to describe things plainly or in a dull way, but finding interesting ways takes a lot of effort.

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?

I have done it, but honestly most of the time you're probably better off using italics.

By the Numbers update!!

With just over a day left to sign up as a creator for Fandom Trumps Hate 2023, here's a quick roundup of all of the numbers:

We have 705 offers by 527 creators (I've had to update this three times while writing this post!). Of those, 97 are offering to work in ANY fandom! The rest have signed up offering fanworks in 273 fandoms, including 177 write-in fandoms! (To compare that with roughly the same time last year, as we approached 24 hours left to sign up for FTH2022 we had 680 offers from 525 creators in 257 fandoms including 153 write-ins … meaning we have 23 more offers in 16 more fandoms by the same number of creators for 2023 … SO FAR.)

A look at the offers, broken down by type (with last year's numbers in italics for comparison purposes) -

The orgs selected least often are The Appeal, Razom, and Violence Policy Center.

In our listed fandoms Good Omens has increased its lead and its lock on the top spot. MCU caught up with Sherlock and Teen Wolf for a brief 3-way tie for 4th place behind HP and K-pop, but has since gained an additional signup to claim that spot, leaving Sherlock and Teen Wolf tied for fifth ahead of Star Wars, Stranger things, SVSSS, The Untamed, and The Sandman.

Emperor Moth AU

Before anything, read the rules. 

This idea is inspired by Season 5 of Miraculous. What if Master Fu lost not only the Peacock and the Moth, but the whole box, but the Ladybug and Cat miraculouses?

In this AU, Gabriel becomes Emperor Moth, and starts the idea of giving the power of the miraculouses to the akumas right on season 1. 

However, instead of Ladybug and Chat Noir, we have a different group of heroes to handle this villains.

Which group, you might ask? Any group you want! It could be Ben 10 team from Alien Force, or the Teen Titans, the Crystal Gems, the Gravity Falls Gang, the Owl House Crew, the Winx Club or... don’t know, the Ghost Force and the W.I.T.C.H? (Never saw this two, so... can’t really tell if it would work). 

Perhaps it could also be Sparrow from New York, Lady Dragon for Shangai, an OC using the Rooster Miraculous... it could be anyone!

It could also be the original Quantic Kids (Gavroche, Kid Mime and Melody). 

Why not use the Ladybug and Chat Miraculous? Well... they would be defeated at their first try, ok?

Marinette and Adrien were already having a hard time at season 1 fighiting normal villains, imagine if they used the powers of the miraculous like they do right now?

They could be added later as a part of the new team (Like during a big threat like Volpina, as an example).

I am dealing with a lot of localized stress right now, and what I want to do about it is read a whole bunch of fanfic for escapism.  So I am requesting recommendations: both fic recs, and recommendations of tags or combinations-of-tags to search on Ao3.

For fic recs: I will read your fandom, if it's a stand-alone capable fic!  Also, I will probably read Bionicle fics regardless, and I'll have a list of fandoms below.

In addition to Ao3, I'm willing to read stories on the SB/SV/QQ trifecta or Royal Road.

I would like fics that are complete with a happy ending, and/or are written as fluffy/happy/feel-good.

I would particularly appreciate fics with a trans and/or plural protagonist.  These don't have to be the plot, but there's no point here if they're not relevant to the plot.  (Eg Babylon 5: Copilots on SV, AlexSeanchai's t4t Miraculous Ladybug fic that I was looking for earlier.)

I massively prefer speculative fiction/SFF.  So everything from Pacific Rim, to superheroes, to Star Wars/Star Trek, to LotR style fantasy.  If you give me a mundane AU, that will ruin the interest for me; but if you give me SFF characters doing mundane things in an unambiguously SFF setting, I'll probably eat it up.  (Like the coffee shop scenes and skateboarding scene in this fic.)

Moderate adventure (more Star Wars original trilogy than LotR) or relationship focus & development, please.  If you've read The Course Of Honor or Winters Orbit, that does a delightful job of balancing both.

Nobody dies is not necessary, but I don't want protagonist death unless they also explicitly get better.  Friendly vampires etc count as "getting better".

I stopped myself. Stella looked kind of jittery and nervous. When I’d motioned to the bathroom she’d dove forth, and now that I’d presented her with a challenge, her eyebrows arched, like she was slightly shocked she’d have to struggle in this way—or like she was calculating she’d spent too long talking to the class freak and was panicking about it.

“Hold on,” I say, and I hold my camera to my chest as I go to the hut myself, all the while wondering why I insist on doing things for pretty girls. It made me feel like a boy. Or like a rough maid from a period drama doing stuff for her delicate ladies.

A thought: Miraculous Ladybug, but properly set in the DCU. Not just "Miraculous but they interact with some DC characters" but a version of the show where it's properly grounded in the setting.

A few ideas/headcanons for this AU:

The Miraculous come from Nanda Parbat. Fu and the other Guardians were monks under Rama Kushna.

At some point, multiple Miraculous fell into the hands of the Chinese government, and there were Miraculous holders as members of the Great Ten.

There were a French Ladybug and Chat Noir during World War II who worked alongside the All-Star Squadron. However, Hitler's possession of the Spear of Destiny made them largely ineffective, as using their powers in Axis-occupied territory would cause them to be magically compelled to turn on their people.

Alya's fandom of Majestia is replaced by a similar admiration for Wonder Woman, and one of her most prized possessions is a signed copy of her book, Reflections.

Hawkmoth's activity in Paris attracts the attention of the French government, who deploy their highest-ranking operative, Josephine Tautin, alias Mademoiselle Marie, to investigate. Tautin runs afoul of Ladybug and Chat Noir on multiple occasions - think Argent from Carmen Sandiego.

Aside from making Akumas, Hawkmoth also takes to hiring costumed criminals to steal the Miraculous for him. This goes about as well as you'd expect...

...Especially because his more brazen attempts to get the Miraculous (Syren, in particular) attract the attention of the Justice League.

However, it's the Teen Titans - Tim Drake's team - who are the first American heroes to visit Paris and befriend Ladybug and Chat Noir.

"Rena Rouge" is French for "red fox" and there just happened to be a French DC heroine (well, heroines - they were twins sharing one costumed identity) called the Crimson Fox. In this AU, I doubt Alya would pass up the chance to homage one of Paris's very own heroines with her own costumed identity.

Speaking of which, the Justice League International had an embassy in Paris until it was destroyed by a middle-aged British man dressed in a beefeater outfit. Given the sliding timescale, the idea of superheroes in Paris wouldn't have been too far back in people's memories.

And that's not to mention other French heroes like Fleur-De-Lis of the Global Guardians or Nightrunner of Batman, Inc.

Chloe calling herself Queen Bee would definitely attract the attention of Zazzala, the alien conqueror who also goes by Queen Bee, who'd probably try to kill her out of sheer pettiness.
