Mithraism
The Mithraic Mysteries, also known as Mithraism, were a mystery cult in the Roman world where followers worshipped the Indo-Iranian deity Mithras (Akkadian for "contract") as the god of friendship, contract and order. The cult first appeared in the late 1st century CE and, at an extraordinary pace, spread from the Italian Peninsula and border regions across the whole of the Roman empire.

Basilica di San Clemente al Laterano in Rome, Italy
Under the basilica that stems from the 12th century, there are two more layers that you are able to visit: a basilica from the 4th century and a mithraeum from the 2th century.
In my opinion the most interesting church Rome has to offer.

Bronze plaque of Mithras slaying the bull. Roman mid-2nd–early 3rd century CE. x
The cult of Mithras was very popular throughout the Roman Empire and was followed especially by soldiers. It was one of several eastern cults that spread rapidly as a result of the pax Romana (Roman peace); others included the worship of Jupiter Dolichenus, Manichaeism and, of course, Christianity. Shrines dedicated to Mithras have been found at sites as far apart as Hadrian’s Wall in northern Britain and Dura Europos on the River Euphrates in Syria. This plaque may well have decorated the wall of such a Mithraeum (place of worship). Busts of Sol (the Sun) and Luna (the Moon) watch over the ritual scene of Mithras slaying the bull, aided by a dog, snake, and scorpion.

Very little is known about Mithras and the cult that surrounded him, due to the fact all ceremony and religious practice was deeply secretive. Mithra originally came from Iran, becoming Mithras when entering the Roman Empire. The cult was popular among soldiers and was made up exclusively of men. What Mithras was the god of isn't entirely known but he's associated with Sol, god of the sun. Most Mithraeums have a depiction of the tauroctony, Mithras killing the bull. The cult disappeared in the 4th century largely due to persecution by early Christians. I went to London Mithraeum this summer and it's genuinely such a cool place, got to sit in the dark and listen to Latin chanting, if you like archaeology I definitely recommend it.

Decided to give Men, Dionysus, and Mithra matching designs. This is for a story project that I don’t know when I’ll be able to bring to fruition, but I’m brainstorming at the moment.
The three have outfits based on male Phrygian attire.

"You should have bowed before me and sworn fealty."
Mithras from Shin Megami Tensei. An old art piece that I'm still fond of.
