December 2020 Monthly News Round-Up

It’s round-up time! Below the read more is a compilation of some notable news stories that we haven’t previously posted about.

This month features, return of Miihi in NiziU, Yuzuna Takebe annouced a new group, and always more!

AKB48

Seven former Kenyuusei have been promoted to official teams on December 8th. Furukawa Nazuna and Honda Sora have been promoted to Team A. Nagano Megumi have been promoted to Team K. Ishiwata Sena, Kuramoto Miyu, Honma Mai, and Yoshihashi Yuzuka have been promoted to Team 4. [x8]. **Names might be inaccurate to Mod Rise being human! Additionally, member Maeda Ayaka has announced that she will be graduating in March 2021. [x*] Sayuna Hama of Team 8 has tested positively for COVID on December 25th. She has no close contacts, and will pursuing treatment at home until January 2nd. [x*]

Ange et Folletta

The group, managed by Miyuki Watanabe will be debuting in Spring with Warner Music. [x*]

AOP

The group has announced that they will be disbanding on March 31st 2021. [x*]

Burst Girl

Miyako officially left the group on December 18th to work with a new group and company. [x*]

Emomomomo

Members Minase, Cocona and Mena are graduating from the group. [x*]

Hello!Project

Risa Ogata will leave both Tsubaki Factory and Hello!Project. This announcement comes after her incident of disparaging remarks made in October that were made public. She will be starting new entertainment activities. [x*]

idoRE:

IdoRe: is a new cafe, bar and stage project where only former idols will be hired to work. The first shop opened on December 11 in Shibuya. [x*] [X]

Iketeru Hearts

Nijika, a former original member of the group, graduated from the group on December 19th. [x*]

IQ Project Kenkyuusei

This project was to audition new members for units hosted by Dear☆Stage and IQ Project. Nine members were selected to join various groups. Kenkyuusei Riko Ozora, Rei Kuroda, and Arimura Nankai will join LinQ, and will debut with the group in April 2021 on LinQ’s 10th anniversary. Kenkyuusei, Narin Kaoru, Nonoyama Momomi, and Kanzaki Miharu will join the new unit Tokiwoikiru that will debut on February. Kenkyuusei, Iwasaki Yuri, Aoyama Uta, and Tachibana Anrai will join the joint unit of DearIQ which will debut in March. [x*] **Please note that some romanization of names is off because Mod Rise is only human.

Kamen Joshi

Member Riru Kuwana, of the unit Alice Juban, has announced that she will graduate from the group at the end of February 2021. [x*]

LinQ

Leader Chiaki Yoshikawa has annouced that she will graduate from the group in April. She will graduate after the group’s 20th anniversary. [x*]

Little Glee Monster

Member Serina, was reported on December 20th to be in poor physical health. She’s currently doing treatment, and has withdrawn from group activities. They will report when she returns, but did not cite a specific reason for her poor health. [x*]

Negicco

On December 23rd, member Kaede has announced that she will be marrying sometime in January to an ordinary male citizen. [x*] Given that both Nao and Megu have already been married, this isn’t as controversial as it usually is in the idol world as a side note.

Niji no Conquistador

Member Miyu Kataoka will graduated from the group on December 27th. [x*] [x*]

NMB48

Member Yuuka Kato tested positive for COVID-19 on December 4th. [x*] She was subsequently deemed recovered on the 11th, rejoining online activities on the 12th. [x*] Four members have announced that they will graduating the group in December. Akari Yoshida will graduate 21st. Suzu Yamada will graduate on the 22nd. Sae Murase will graduate on the 23rd. On the 27th, Anna Ijiri will graduate as well. [x*] Member Ayaka Yamamoto announced that she will graduate from the group at a latter date. [x*]

NiziU

It appears that member Miihi, has returned to the group after resting for two months. She posted on the group’s official Instagram here . She has allegedly written to the fan club that she will be slowly resuming activities.

Passcode

The group has announced that in February 2, 2022 they will be performing at the Nippon Budokan! It’s an iconic venue that many idols have seem to set their goal to perform at. [X] [x*]

Premony

On November 28th, it was said that member Sakuragi Himeka had been evacuated from her house after an alleged stalker threw a lit piece of paper in her mailbox. Due to the incident she was absent from Premony’s activities. However, it was later proven that the ‘stalker’ was her boyfriend, and during her break from the event she had been on dates with him. Reported on December 8th, Himeka had been dismissed from the group on December 7th. And that Premony would continue as a duo. [x*]

SKE48

Member Nao Fukushi has tested positive for COVID on December 25th. She will be recovering at home until January 3rd. She had 15 close contacts in SKE, so all performances through the end of the year are cancelled. [x*]

STU48

Member Kouko Tanaka has announced that she will graduate. However, a graduation date has not been set yet. [x*]

SUPER☆GiRLS

Leader Koume Watanabe, has announced that she will be graduating the group in June 2021. [x*]

SWEET REVENGE

Yuzuna Takebe formerly of E-Girls, is the leader of this new group from LDH Europe. It’s a five member group with Yuzuna as leader, Asami from Tokyo, Larissa, Agnes and Esmee from the Netherlands. They will debut sometime in 2021. [x*]

Yumemiru Adolescence

The group on December 26th announced four new members! They are Ayaka Nagata, Sei Hiriji*, Akino, and Karen. They will official debut on February 27th 2021! [x*] *Please note some name errors might have happened since Mod Rise is only human!

WACK and SCRAMBLES

Some updates to the group line-ups. WAgg member Utauuta, will be promoted to PARADISES. She will graduate January 3rd, and then join PARADISES on January 30th. Member Tsukino Usagi of PARADISES, will be teaching the trainees of WAgg for six months, and most likely return to PARADISES in June. Yuina Empire, former member of EMPiRE, BiS2nd, BiS, and CARRY LOOSE will join WAgg, to train and seek promotion again. [X] Additionally, on December 24th former CARRY LOOSE member URUU RU left WACK. [x*]

WILL-O’

The group has announced their current line-up will graduate after their final live on January 23rd. [x*] Due to some language inconsistancies, it’s unclear if the group will permanently disband or be rebooted with a new line-up.

Wings of Artemis

The newly debuted group annouced that Ayaka and Nanami will be graduating from the unit at their January 4th live. Ayaka's statement in English and Japanese can be found here and Nanami's in Japanese only is here .

ZOC

The group announced on December 4th that the group will perform their tour final at the Nippon Budokan on February 4th. [x*] The same day, member Katy Kashii announced that she will graduate from ZOC in February after fulfilling her dream of performing at the Budokan. [x*]

Leader Chiharu Hokaze will graduate from the group on February 28th 2021. She will continue her career in voice acting. [x*]

Uh,, so I figured I'd just post here here rather than later,

Here's my little,,,, Sona? Main? Idk I just like her, Miyako the socially awkward and anxious mess of a Kitsune

Soft baby but will probably snap one day,

I just hngngngn,,, I use her in roleplays and I cannot explain why but she's just fun for me,

So a short little description here,

Miyako is a 17 year old kitsune and is one of six members of a "specialized" group of ancient Ghostbusters. They go into possessed caves and take out dangerous spirits that kidnap people and generally cause havoc before they leak out into the normal world.

Miyu herself is the quietest of the group, however that doesn't mean she's completely introverted around her group. She controls the element of fire and can create 1 powerful illusion at a time, not at the same time as an attack.

Her three main forms she can take are:

True: Retains ears/tail and can user abilities

Fox: Just a normal fox. Can only use fire abilities

Hidden: Normal-looking human. No abilities can be used in this form. This form is also completely blind and mute.

During the day she spends her time alone in her room, rarely if ever coming out.

Because of popular vote, here's some random data about my Danganronpa fankids (Information under the cut):

Tenko, Shinji and Akui were all born premature (1 month earlier for Shinji (Week 39) and Akui (Week 37), and 2 months earlier for Tenko (Week 29)).

Shuri, Chieko and Yuito are all transgender (Shuri and Yuito being trans men and Chieko being a trans woman).

Akiko went to the same high school the Otonokoji twins went (And is the only fankid confirmed to have gone to the same school as one of the killing games' participants).

Not all of them come from the same universes, their conceptions being influenced by how the events of the Tragedy can or can't happen.

Anzu and Seira's hairstyles are based on a shooting star and the sun respectively.

The names of Polly and Silver are based on Nirvana songs.

Shinji, Natsumi and Yuta have their names to honor a dead loved one of one of their parents.

Relaxing Breeze - Sakihi Miyu

Relaxing Breeze (Fuwari) was a musumeyaku feature published in GRAPH, where an interview would take place at a cafe. It was focused on offstage topics such as how they destress or what they do on days off.

Sakihi’s was published in the February 2017 issue.

First, why don’t you order! Ah, what should I pick! Let’s see...the Ice Cafe Chocolat and...what to do...hmmm...right! The “Strawberry Cream Cheese Waffle”! It interested me as soon as I saw the menu.

What else were you considering? I like adzuki-bean paste too, so the adzuki french toast looked interesting. And the buttered waffle is simple but it looks really nice… (Manager calls from the back: ‘It’s not too late to change your mind~’) Nonono! My heart’s set on this! (laughs)

Today we’re doing a photoshoot at this cafe, so… This wood design...since I grew up in Miyagi I was surrounded by trees all the time, so this atmosphere is really calming. It feels like a real day off (laughs)

Your outfit is especially casual today. Since we’re in a cafe, and I like soft color palettes, I settled on this. It’s like ‘OK, where do I want to go today~’ (laughs), the image of something you’d wear on a day off...how to describe it. Nothing constricting...and although it’s warm, it has really nice airflow, I guess? Ahahaha! (laughs)

(laughs). That loose-fitting knit piece is really lovely. I really like knits. I didn’t have any sleeveless knits before, but you see them a lot in magazines lately, right? I bought this one just recently, and I thought ‘this is my chance!’ And it turned out it really matched the atmosphere of this cafe somehow...hahaha. For my hair too, I did it how I might on a day off, with it all curled and just loosely fastened; it’s like I’m letting my head rest a bit too. I also wanted to try a different style from a typical Takarazuka hair arrangement, following mainstream trends that an ordinary woman might like. It seems like loosely fastened styles like this are popular currently, so I tried it out at home thinking I might wear something like that to rehearsals...I think about Takarazuka all the time (laughs). But I like Takarazuka, see! (laughs)

Do you go to cafes by yourself? I doooo~ But only when I’m in a more relaxed mindset. Like the day after a show’s closing performance… Ah, but recently, after the closing performance of One Night of Stars in Tokyo, I felt such a strong sense of loss. Although it’s hard for me to part with any show, that one… I think maybe it was because the part of Sen was so hard, and I struggled with the show so much, but afterwards I felt a mysterious sense of accomplishment.

(The waffle arrives) Wow, it smells so good! (To the manager) Thank you~! It’s so tasty! Ah...it melts in my mouth...I’m so happy…

What do you usually order at a cafe? I get basic things a lot of the time, like simple sweets or handmade cakes, with drinks.I’ll go to pancake or french toast places too, but rather than just blindly following trends, I’m more like “everyone says this thing is so wonderful, I wonder what it’s really like” and shyly go, catching up with the times some time later (laughs). But for me, the main thing about going to a cafe is the conversation. I love talking shop, so I’ll go with other Snow Troupe members, and of course my classmates, but also Sahana [Mako]-san or from other troupes Kagetsu [Miyako]-san, or Shirayuki [Sachika]-san, or Chinami [Karan]-san… Being able to talk to people I respect is just so enriching to me, so I really feel like I need those times.

On your days off, do you prefer spending the day alone, or in a large group? I love...is it okay to say that? Well, I love being alone (laughs). I’ll go shopping alone, of course, or if there’s a movie I’m interested in, I’ll go myself to a really late showing.

What sort of movies have you seen recently? To be honest...I haven’t been able to go very much. The most recent time I saw a movie, which was a little while ago, was Pixar’s Inside Out. I was really interested because I was thinking ‘how will the film actors perform these voice acting roles?’ Ootake Shinobu-san was so amazing! Actually, I make sure to see every Disney movie. I also watch a lot of documentaries like Oceans. I love seeing nature footage on the big screen. But if there’s a closeup of a bug or something I’ll be like… (hiding her face) (laughs). I’m like ‘Okay, I’m fine with just the sound here~’ (laughs)

You don’t like bugs, then? I don’t (laughs). But I love nature, so on my days off sometimes I’ll just sit and space out at a park (laughs). I’ll watch the little kids playing around, or the old grampas fishing in the lake… During rehearsals and performances, I can only get outside during morning and evening, if I can just sit and feel the mid-day sun I’m like ‘Ah~ the time is flowing differently~’. But I’m not suffering from having a full daily schedule. I  think it’s good that I’m not free every day. It’s because it’s only occasional that those times become so happy, I think.

Do you take a lot of leisure time? No...actually, often the senior actresses will tell me ‘make sure you relax on this day off, ok?’... They’ll tell me to make sure I remember to take time for myself. I’m the type who will end up getting totally focused on whatever my goal is.

So, how do you relax? Hm...I’ll listen to music I like, not just music from shows. I really like Hakase Tarou-san. I love the sound of violin and string instruments, so I’ll listen to things like that, or Hisaishi Joe-san’s music. I’ll fling the window open, and let the fresh air flow in, and just let a CD play for ages (laughs). I also like Taylor Swift.

If you had several days’ vacation, what would you like to do? Hm...well, although I wouldn’t be able to decide this just on my own...I’d like to go on a trip with my family! We used to go on vacation a lot, with the whole family, my parents and my little sister. If I think about it now, for my parents, who were both working, those holidays must have been their precious time off, but we would always go out so I came to feel that of course holiday time was family time. But now I understand that it wasn’t so simple, and I want to give back to my parents somehow, so I think all the time that I’d like to take them somewhere.

If you had 3 or 4 days to spend together with the whole family, where would you like to go? Wah~! That would make me so happy~! Well, my parents like skiing. This is like 10 years ago now, but once, my mother said out of the blue ‘It would be so nice to go to the big slopes of Daisen, in Tottori’ and my father said ‘it would!’ but they were never able to go. I want to make that dream come true for them. For the longest time I’ve had that memory: “It’s written as ‘big mountain’ but it’s read ‘Daisen’! Okay! That’s where mom wants to go!” I want to go there while we’re all still in good health. ...Ah~I ended up talking so much today. Thank you so much!

I just thought of this crazy idea. I thought about Miyu, Aoi's childhood friend whose conscious is taken by Lightning prior to season 2 of VRAINS, and I been thinking about how she didn't appear as Lightning's prisoner in season 2 of VRAINS. So, here's this plot in my head for my version of VRAINS. When War Hunter (Takayuki/Ethan) and Pixie Fairy (Ami/Amy) explored this mysterious castle they suddenly encountered (Lightning's castle), they bumped into Miyu (Well, her data conscious that is), and she asked them to help her escape from here before he finds her, and then Bull comes in and then attacks War Hunter, Pixie Fairy, and Miyu and then Liberty Girl (Asuna/Thea) comes in and duels Bull (She only does that just so War Hunter and Pixie Fairy can trust her) and then helps the three escape and hang out at the LQSC HQ, where Pixie Fairy becomes a member of and then changes her avatar to Elf Girl. War Hunter, Elf Girl, and Miyu talk a bit and both War Hunter and Elf Girl notice Miyu's eyes. They notices that her pupils are very dull, so they assumed that Miyu is an android like Asumi (Delilah), so when War Hunter asked Miyu if she is an android, Miyu got very confused about the android thing, but tells them that she is human and that her conscious was taken away by a happy-go lucky girl dress in pink (Pinky) and she wants to go back to the real world and wants to reunite with her old friend (Aoi). War Hunter and Elf Girl understand it and decided to help her get her back to the real world with Kusanagi (Kolter)'s help, but then Pinky shows up and demands to take Miyu back as her prisoner in her master (Lightning)'s command. Elf Girl duels Pinky for Miyu's sake, and then for her (Elf Girl) love for Playmaker's sake because Pinky has like this super massive (and yandere) crush on Playmaker and she doesn't want that to happen. So Elf Girl defeats Pinky, but still Pinky takes Miyu back to her HQ, but before they return, Miyu throws her necklace to War Hunter and tells him to find her old friend, A.Z (Which stands for Aoi Zaizen), and War Hunter determines that he will rescue Miyu from her captive with the help of A.Z. Although War Hunter doesn't know who A.Z is nor does he know that Miyu was a Lost Incident victim until the duel with Blue Maiden (Aoi Zaizen) and Bowman where Blue Maiden is determine to rescue Miyu too. During some point, Takayuki somehow develops a crush on Miyu, but doesn't tell anyone, not even with Ami or his older sister, Miyako (Annie), about it because they will all think Takayuki will have a soft spot and he doesn't want that because he's manly. And the rest with Miyu, you know already, of her meeting Aoi when they were kids, losing the ring, Aoi taking the blame for Miyu, never seeing each other again, and Miyu becoming the Lost Incident victim. So, what do guys think of this little take on Miyu's meeting with Takayuki and Ami and her being Lightning's prisoner after her conscious is taken by him?
